Long time customer - Got my last 3 phones here

My first dealing with mobiles.co.uk was about 6 years ago and I was sceptical of these pop-up sites (there were a few at the time) and their too-good-be-true cashback deals but I can't complain and have recommended them to others.
Yes there has been a couple of hiccups with cashback claims over the years but have all been resolved and paid at most a week late.
Carphone Warehouse owns this site (and E2Save) and service has been MUCH smoother since they took a bigger role in the company. In fact all orders are fulfilled by Carphone Warehouse.
Just make sure you READ EVERYTHING about the cashback, tech support and insurance so you don't need to pay more than you want - all the info is there.
I'm about to order again from mobiles.co.uk in the next week or so when I decide what to go for this time.

Incompetent or downright laziness of cash back claim team

My cash back claim has never been straightforward from the start. They definitely do not go through the uploaded bill at all or they will never miss the mobile phone no that I am claiming for. Unfortunately, my computer does not allow me to edit the PDF file and hence have to upload the entire bill which has another phone no as well. I have sent numerous messages to try to get them to look at the bill properly. I am at my wits end as it has happened again with my most recent claim. They are creating unnecessary and extra work for both parties!! Now I am unable to contact them by email or by my message without having to go through their live chat. They have taken this facility away to make it more inconvenient to claim. In past it has been brilliant and emailing the cashback claim was so convenient but the service has deteriorated and I will not be getting any mobile phones from them with cashback offer again.

WARNING - PLEASE DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

Completely hopeless from start to finish. Even forgetting to process the initial order. But the real problem starts when you try and claim for the cashback.
In principal the contract seems almost too good to be true. And in reality I think it is.
You will spend more time trying to get your claim processed than what it is worth.
I now wonder whether the idea is to make the claim process as hard as possible in order for you to eventually give up with it. My advice is to deal direct with a phone company direct and not to get involved with these idiots.

Told to expect my refund will take 8 weeks....

I ordered a leather iPhone case. When it arrived the packaging was damaged and it was made of plastic. I therefore returned the faulty good and mobiles.co.uk / Carphone Warehouse have now confirmed receipt.

Despite paying by card, they are insisting on refunding by cheque and more than 1 week after receiving the returned case, they have now advised it could be 8 weeks before I receive the refund.

This is a deliberate breach of the Distance Selling Regs. Very poor experience.

Excellent - Does exactly what it says on the tin

I bought a cheap Iphone 5s...on an amazing contract that I couldn't get direct from all the other main shops.
The phone was couriered next day.

Don 't believe the negative comments!

Ordered from mobiles and then read the reviews whilst waiting for them to confirm with the network, and got worried. No need! Ordered at 11.30 pm and by 1pm the next day they had confirmed dispatch and the network had emailed me a welcome note. Delivered by DPD (standard free delivery) and received a text on the delivery day with the hour timeslot I would receive my phone. Arrived literally on the first minute of the timeslot. SIM card was already activated by the time I plugged it I and phone was great. Honestly very impressed.

Problems so far (edited as I now cannot get my free gift)

I ordered a phone on Friday, it was delivered by lunchtime on Monday!

Although my sim card was faulty, they put me through to O2 who sorted it out straight away.

I got a free iPad air with my deal which they said will be ordered after my 7 day cooling off period has passed so hopefully after writing a good review that will arrive as promised and all will be good. **edited (this is now proving to be a nightmare!! I was promised that this would be with me before Christmas and they had stock when I took out my contract, Basically the LIED! Speaking to an advisor yesterday, she told me they have not had stock of the iPad for a long time, so basically I was lied to to get a sale)

I was sceptical about ordering due to the negative reviews and it seems I was right to be. Avoid these at all costs, unless you are happy to be fed lies and left disappointed when your free gift does not arrive!!

My other half was just about to go with Mobiles.co.uk as she is due to upgrade but now she will be steering well clear and going with someone else! I am amazed carphone warehouse allow their name to be associated with this shambles!

23/12/2013 Now been fed even more lies! After arranging for someone to wait in at my house for the parcel to be delivered (I was told on Friday it had been despatched) Tried to get a tracking number today and have been told it was not despatched as they have no stock!

Great Service and Price

I bought an iPhone 5c on contract. I spoke to an advisor before taking out the contract and they were able to answer all of my questions and told me that they had the one I wanted in stock.
I ordered the phone and it arrived the next day. I would totally recommend this company.

When taking out the contract I did not want their Phone insurance or access to their Gadget helpline. So I ticked No for insurance but had to contact my bank to cancel the direct debit for the Gadget Helpline.

HIDDEN CHARGES - even after contract expiry

I bought a nexus s off mobiles.co.uk (linked from compare the market) and all went smoothly got the phone very happy, seemed like a great deal at 21 pound a month after rebate (which is a difficult to claim back, they know most will forget or not bother). Still it was 25 a month without which was still pretty good.

HOWEVER! By the time my contract expired the price had risen to 33 pound a month (nothing I could do as I was tied in).

IT GETS WORSE, 10 months after my 24 month contract expired I noticed £20.16 taken from my account from TMTI TECH SUPPORT who I'd never heard off, they have been taking that amount every 6 months for years without sending me so much as a letter or email and when I rang them they told me MOBILES.CO.UK has given them my details. They do a similar (more noticeable) scam with insurance.

MY ADVICE, go direct to the networks the monthly contract will cost a little more but they wont put the price up or add any hidden charges. These 3rd party mobiles phone sites are cheats!!

Perfect

I was a bit sceptical about using this company to purchase a phone after all the negative reviews I first read. I AM SO GLAD I DIDNT LISTEN TO THEM.

Perfect service, rang me explained my plan in detail, phone arrived next day with the sim card as explained. They were very helpful and the deal was very cheap too, very happy!

Fantastic Service

I've never been one for phone contract and always kept it simple on pay as you go, but I decided that now I was getting monthly wages, I might as go for it and see what all the fuss was ago, so I looked online and found a great deal for an iPhone 5C with unlimited texts/data as well as 500 minutes for a very reasonable price, and that was with £10 insurance added on top. It took me through a couple of different websites (uSwitch, T-Mobile, Mobiles.co.uk etc.), which took only a couple of minutes to navigate until I was ready to purchase the order. It arrived the next morning in a brand new case with official Apple headphones and a charger in brand new condition, as well as the T-Mobile SIM, so it was ready to use immediately as it had already been fully charged. Mobiles.co.uk kept me updated on the status of my package via e-mail and text, and sent me a very nice e-mail once the phone had arrived.

I never find myself writing reviews but I was so happy with the service I received from them that I thought I ought to let other people know. Great price, great delivery speed, fast and easy to set up, no issues whatsoever. I hope other people get the same great service from them in the future.

Quickest, easiest mobile purchase ever!

I was sceptical both due to reviews about the company and the fact the phone would be £230 cheaper (over 2 years) than going direct to O2.

However, ordered at 4pm, arrived within 24, as ordered, not a single complaint can be made about that.

Just keep my fingers crossed that if I have to deal with Customer Services, it isn't as bad as some other reviewers have experienced.

I did notice in the T&Cs that if I have a fault, I can go to a Carphone Warehouse shop as they are part of the same group, in fact, my phone was dispatched from a CPW logistics address.

Pleasantly surprised and as such felt obliged to write a review of my experiences so far.

Actually impressed!

I ordered the new iphone 5s from mobiles.co.uk (despite the poor reviews) as they had an amazginly cheap deal- and I'm glad I did! When I ordered the website said the product was in stock- which I was sceptical of as no phone shops had it in stock. Once I had submitted my purchase I was told that the product was out of stock- surprise surprise! But with all fairness to mobiles.co.uk i was sent a weekly email to keep me updated on my order. As soon as they had the product in stock (2 weeks later) my order was processed straight away and I recieved my phone and contract the next day. So 2 weeks after I ordered i recieved the product- quicker than a few of the mainstream phone companies were able to do! Very happy and would use them again.

Totally Useless! Appalling attitude and customer service, simply don't communicate or listen to customer

We simply tried to order and iphone 4s for my partner, we did make and error in inputing the dob on the online form but then rather than call us to clarify details, they tried to put the order through 7 times, so we ended up with emails galore telling us about our accepted orders followed by our cancelled orders!. And because of all this, being accused of FRAUD. Surely it would have been easier to pick up the phone to call us, being a communications company!

We spent 9 hours of our day initially trying to remedy this situation, to no avail and then more of our time sending emails only to have them totally ignored. Finally after sending emails to numerous ceo possible email address we get a response but not a particularly helpful one.

We got our phone easily and simply elsewhere.
My current contract is with this company and I recommend them to my son and his girlfriend who also got phones from them. My contract is up for renewal in January but hey, I think I should go elsewhere and no more recommendations will be coming from me or my family.

I think Mobiles.co.uk system needs some serious looking at and and I think customers are totally fed up with being fobbed off by people with scripts and who are not able to understand what customers are saying to them.

1st Class all round 5 star service !!!

Having placed my order for an iPhone 4s around 1 pm yesterday (receiving an excellent deal that o2 wouldn't even consider matching) I then came to this review site to see what others thought of mobiles.co.uk. After reading a long list of 1 star reviews and the problems people have had and warning to steer well clear, concerns started to kick in to say the least !!

Well, I'm glad to report that I received a first rate service. As from 19:45 last night, I have been kept fully informed as to when my mobile was collected by DPD, then which depot would be delivering and again when it was out on delivery I received the tracking details along with a link to track the parcel live. The parcel was delivered exactly when DPD said it would be (12:45pm today).

I would not have any issue with recommending Mobiles.co.uk to family or friends and wish more people took the time to report the excellent service provided, rather than only ever taking the time to have a moan....

In summary - Excellent service and will be using for the next upgrade within the household.

Stay Well Clear

Ordered an iPhone 5 which seemed to be competively priced with the promise that delivery would be next day. 3 days later phone still hadn't arrived and no notofication was sent of its dispatch. Spent over an hour in total trying to contact cutomer services various times at 10p per minute without success. In the end I sent a message through their website cancelling the order. Stay well clear of this company otherwise you'll end up paying a small fortune in telephone charges to contact their customer service department.

Absolute nightmare from day 1

Ordered phone online and says on the order message it would take 2 days to deliver which was great as my old contract ran out in a weeks time as I wanted to transfer my old number as well,waited nearly a week and no confirmed e-mail so had to try and phone them up,premium number and eventually got through and advisor says I need to reapply which was absoulute rubbish,unhelpful so decided to cancel the contract and go elsewhere,reason I went to them was because they were offering a better deal,knew it was too good to be true.
Ordered from affordable mobiles.co.uk on sat night,got delivered on Monday morning,also got 4 emails confirming each stage and last email was to track the parcel so I knew what time it was getting delivered.deal wasn't as good as the first at least I got my new mobile as promised and got great service with it.
Why can't mobile.co.uk give the exact promises and customer service same as affordable mobiles?

Mobiles.co.uk is one of the most despicable websites that can offer mobile phone contracts in the UK. I got one contract with them 2 years ago no problem but it was an entirely different story now. I applied for the Galaxy S4 on £27.50/month for 24 months and was awaiting email for despatch. This did not arrive and instead I got one saying I should contact mobiles.co.uk. I did this on the premium rate number, 10p/min, after they said they would call me. I didn't particularly mind paying the phone call because I was getting a great deal out of it.

When I EVENTUALLY spoke to someone, I was told that I was refused by the network and to apply again. I did this and it was refused again, they said the addresses did not match on their site and Vodafone's site. This was, as it turned out, true and I changed the address to match. I then placed a further order which was declined for the same reason. This happened 2 more times and eventually the woman entered it manually and I got a match. FINALLY, I thought. But then, I failed the internal security at mobiles.co.uk and my order was cancelled.

I applied twice more and failed the address match and after having spent well over £10 on phone calls to these professionally challenged imbeciles, I decided to pay more and go with Vodafone on their own website for more money but less hassle. The amount of blame they placed on Vodafone was unbelievable and they kept telling me they would call back and to go and ask Vodafone why I was being rejected etc.

Vodafone were nothing but compassionate and were sad to be unable to provide me with the same deal. If there was any advice I could offer anyone thinking about a new contract or an upgrade (which aren't always cheaper), then my advice would be to get as far away in internet miles from these con artists as possible.

You'll spend more money on the phone to them, double charging morons

Extremely unhappy with this experience. First they e mailed to say there was some details to finalise and that they would try to contact me. NO EFFORT WAS MADE. I ended up calling them (10p a min, grrr), it turned out the first line of my address had been put in twice and they were too stupid to work that out. The guy said everything was fine and the mobile would be delivered the next day. I got an e mail 10 minutes later saying there was another problem, again we had to phone up twice. They claimed the sort code was wrong, however £20 was missing from my available balance. At the end of the call the guy said the phone would be on its way. It eventually arrived 2 days later with no faults. However, i have just checked my bank account today and discovered that they have taken £40 from me instead of the agreed £20 and guess what, their contact me e mail section on the site doesn't cover this issue which only means more money spent waiting for them to answer the phone and get their act together. DO NOT USE.
