I have recently purchased the galaxy s4 at a great rate the customer service was above the standard I expected as not a well known site.
The only downside was that they charged me £170 instead of £169.99 ... but who cares still better than paying the £399.99 O2 wanted me to pay to get the same deal!!!!
I would recommend mobiles.co.uk to anybody who will listened to me GREAT COMPANY!
I was very wary about using mobiles.co.uk after reading all the negative reviews; but the tariff offer I found through u-switch which sent me onto mobiles undercut all the others. As it happens, the service was excellent. I received regular e-mails, my phone arrived exactly when it was due & although having to cancel the tmti service was a minor irritation, it was really straightforward & I didn't get the hard sell as to why I was leaving them. I'll definitely be checking mobiles out again when my contract runs out.
Following bad reviews I was a little reulctant to go ahead with the offer but after some investigation decided I could reduce the risks, plus the offer was too good. I decided to port my old number myself - Uswitch has a section explaining how to do this yourself and it worked with no problems in around 24 hours. The mobiles.co.uk website doesn't seem to have the ability to request a porting of a number and this would be an added complication anyway. I also decided to not to have the phone delivered to my works address as I expected the convenience would be far outwayed by the complications, due to extra security, this may cause - plus the website didn't seem to function properly for a separate delivery address when I first tried it. In the end the phone came the following day in perfect, sealed, original packaging. Communications (by e-mail) were good throughout and the website also gave tracking information of the order and the delivery, plus a text message before the phone was delivered. Yes, I did cancel the insurance during the order process. There is a 'technical support' option you can't cancel during the order process but this is all above board and upfront with a website for the company in question if you look. The day after the delivery of the phone we were emailed by this 'technical support' company and I could cancel through their website. The only itsy-bitsy-tiny glitch was the phone was supposed to cost me £99.99 - they billed my card for £100 - shocker! . . . I may just let that one slide!
fantastic phone deal if you jump through the hoops, (write on your calendar/diary which bills to send in) a free budget smart phone, works out at £1.53 after you claim all the cash backs in stage, with ample free minutes/text and data allowance, sent the first bill in on time by e-mail, got the first part of my cash back by cheque 2/3 weeks later, so far no problems I'm a happy customer.
Ordered my iphone. After I realised is faulty phone has been sent back. Now is 12th day I have no message what is happening with my phone. I was calling them few times and nobody was able to tell me anything apart of "we still waiting for a courier to deliver phone to us" or "stack somewhere in our office" . It was no motivation to find out what was happend. Now I am on my holidays without my phone and any message or email with information what is happening. Simply thing which is phone return/ exchange for mobiles.com takes ages.
They messed everything they possibly could up.
First, we ordered a handset that never came, i had to chase it up 2 weeks after it had been dispatched to which they said they'd have to send another as it had got lost, eventually received the next handset and sim card and tried for 4 days ringing up mobiles.co.uk and the network 3 trying to activate it and both companies were stating something was wrong but it wasn't to do with them.
Eventually after weeks of having a not working handset mobiles.co.uk told us they'd have to send another sim card as the order was somehow 'incomplete' between them and 3, this sim card never actually arrived and after refusing to go any further with the order after a month of placing it I cancelled it, went out the same day to the T-mobile shop and bought a completely different contract.
I am absolutely outraged at the level of service and how a company can manage to mess something up so much, will never be ordering from them again and am pleased that now after cancelling my order I have to have nothing more to do with the company.
I've ordered my phone on 02 October get it next day but handset was faulty and didn't charge at all, I've been with it at SAMSUNG authorized point, but they couldn't fix it and told me to send it back to mobiles.co.uk, ok so I call them, after more than 30 mins in queue I had a chance to spoke with customer service, after a lot of whining they gave me address to send it back etc.
So I've send it back and 2 days later I've get new handset, but this one was faulty as well, had same issue, do not want to charge at all...
So I've repeat all process, call mobiles.co.uk, wait a lot of time in queue told them that I get faulty phone again, and that 2nd time so I really will appreciate any recompense for that, and suggested different handset because probs they have got all batch of those faulty.
The guy told that he gonna ask manager, so I've waited, after a few minutes he said to send phone back to them, so I've thinking that manager approved this and they gonna send me different handset.
I've repeat process, send handset back, after 2 days I've get new one, but same model I've ordered, not the different one I've ask for. Happily this one isn't faulty and still working.
But because of that order I've took 2 days of at work, to take phone to SAMSUNG fixing point etc... So I've lose 82 pounds for each day off. A lot of time (about 5 hours on the phone) and money to call samsung and mobiles co.uk. and a little bit of money for transport fees to get to samsung point. And I've get working handset after almost 2 weeks because of that delay with faulty handsets. I'm not even gonna tell about nerves because of that case...
And all they have offer me as recompense because of that mess is 10-12 pounds with a cheque (I'm gonna get it in 6 weeks time, N/C for that one) for calls I've made to mobiles.co.uk
I'm gonna add that I've got contract with them already for about almost 2 years, so I'm not a new customer.
It the second time I've used Mobiles.co.uk now, great service, phone arrived next day on both occasions. Only thing was sim wasn't activated for 4 days after the phone arrived.
I don't know why i chose to order a mobile phone contract off this site apart from that they were cheap. I compaired there deals with other websites and found them a lot better value but there's a reason why, read on....
I ordered my phone (Samsung Galaxy SIII) on Friday 6th July 2012. On Monday 9th July 2012 my credit check was complete and my phone was being shipped to my address. I got a text message on Tuesday 10th July 2012 saying that my order was expected to be delivered, i got home from work to find nothing had been delivered. I checked the tracking form on the Yodel site (BTW REAL THE DELIVERY OPTIONS CAREFULLY WHEN ORDERING, YOU CAN CHOSE ROYAL MAIL TO DELIVER YOUR PHONE, DEFINATELY CHOSE ROYAL MAIL), all was going well until around 10:50am where i got an update that my phone had been returned to the delivery depot in Loughborough. Later on that day i rang up Yodel to question the tracking status, they explained that the courier that was suppose to be delivering my parcel did not deliver to my postal area.
I've been contacting both mobiles.co.uk and Yodel all week about my order and all both companies are doing is giving me lies. Mobiles.co.uk kept promising to me that the parcel was going to be delivered the next day and Yodel kept telling me that it was based at their delivery depot in Loughborough. The communications between the delivery company and mobiles.co.uk has been unbelievable, they don't seem to be informing each other about the current status of the parcel.
It's the 17th today and I am still yet to receive my phone and even worse I am currently being billed when I am not even using the phone. They have explained that i will get my money back at some time soon but I doubt this will happen seeing what experience I have had with them so far.
I found the customer service staff extremely rude and unhelpful, they obviously don't care about their customers. They have a PREMIUM RATE NUMBER as well which makes it an absolute fortune to ring them up. They take at least 10 minutes to answer calls.
I tried to cancel my mobile phone contract as the delivery was taking to long, they wasn't having any of it. I asked if i could speak to management, the person on the phone just said they'd explain exactly the same as what they were saying. The person then said that i couldn't cancel it because there was no proof that i hadn't recieved the phone, I explained that i wouldn't be ringing them up if i had the handset, he wouldn't budge in his explanation.
They have told me numerous times that they would phone me back to keep me updated on the bodge up of delivery, they haven't. I've still got half price line rental claims to do with them, i doubt i will ever get that knocked off my bill.
Take my advice, pay the extra and buy from a dedicated phone shop such as Carphone Warehouse or Phones 4U. I thought the site would be ok seeing as it is a subsidiary of the Carphone Warehouse brand, but obviously not.
MOBILES.CO.UK, SORT OUT YOUR FUCKING DELIVERY COMPANY YOU USE, YODEL ARE USELESS!
GUYS IF YOU DO DECIDE TO ORDER OFF THIS SITE, AGAIN, MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHOSE DELIVERY BY ROYAL MAIL OPTION, OTHERWISE YODEL WILL BE SET BY DEFAULT
As promised got an update on the phone and it's not good. I did phone up again to ask whether they were ever thinking of stocking up on the phone and they couldn't answer..... :S. But they did say they were '99% certain that i will get my phone within 7 days.'(BTW Whenever someone says this, it almost certainly means that there is a probably a 1% chance you will ever get your phone) Anyway someone calls up the next day to tell me that my phone wont arrive for at least a couple of weeks (if at all). So verdict = i would cancel your orders straight away, rubbish customer service, this company is good at making false promises and all about making quick money and not about providing a good service. I would give it a zero rating if i could.
I placed an order, they sent an email asking me to call them. After speaking to one of the sales staff they said they would call me back within the hour to update me on the progress of the order.
Unfortunately they didn't call back in an hour, they didn't call back at all.
I rang them back and was told by an automated voice that my call would be connected to an advisor in less than a minute. My call wasn't connect for over 10 minutes!
After my call I was sent an email saying they had tried calling, when I had received no calls, had no missed calls and no messages? Clearly they didn't call!
I'm afraid that this sort of customer service is appalling, I have lost all trust in mobiles.co.uk.
I dont usually write reviews unless I encounter a truly awful service or an awesome one - and this time I have had an awesome one!!
I was slightly concerned about the poor reviews on Trust Pilot but took the chance. I found a deal on a different website which forwarded me too Mobiles.co.uk for a contract on a top phone which was by far the best deal I got find.
Purchased the phone on the 27th (which was very easy - almost too easy!) delivered this morning, the 29th!
SPOT ON!! Well done Mobiles.co.uk
On the face of it, some great deals and I bought a phone for my wife from these guys.
Trouble is the deal involved having to claim every quarter to get money back.
If they could automate this process, they would be much higher rated.
I buy a contract almost every year from mobiles.co.uk. Their service is simple and easy. No problems so far.
Their prices and packages are also excellent. Highly recommended. They are very reliable.
I will use them again in future.
Without doubt the most incompetent company i have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
Where do i start, poor website and navigation. Excessive call waiting times, mis-information about cancelling orders, goods turning up when they shouldn't, the list goes on.
I strongly recommend anybody not entering in to a contract with these guys, i gave them the benefit of the doubt and only wished i'd taken the advice of others on all of the other review websites. As a faceless box shifter no doubt they are great but if anything goes wrong be prepared for a rough ride and as far as the mobile networks are concerned you are tied in to the contract regardless what outfit you buy the goods from.
Don't be fooled that as Carphone are the parent company you will magically receive better customer service. Carphone will deny all knowledge of mobiles.co.uk and cannnot answer any questions yet your airtime agreement says Carphone, your returns go to Carphone and if like me you go in to Carphone after returning a phone to mobiles.co.uk it's all on record for Carphone sales agents to see.
orderd my mobile have not herad from them apart from one email to tell me my mobile is on hold tried email 3days phone three days and still not recived a thing back so dont no if i have a contract or not ?? phone just cuts of emails just get returned not bad business if you can get it earning too much money
Having read the other reviews on the site I can only assume that they were dealing with a different site. i found the company to be very efficient and reliable. I received my phone very promptly and I was kept informed every step of the way.
I have had major problems with this company getting Cashback redemptions. They have now missed out on three payments, all of which I submitted in time, all of which they have said they would pay - none of which they have. The propblems arose when I submitted my bill from Orange. There are two phone numbers on the bill only one of which is related to this Cashback scheme. I told them which number it was, I pointed out that there were two on the bill, I told them at which page on the bill the number I was claiming for started. They wrote back saying that I was claiming for the wrong number. I checked and I wasn't. I rang them; they checked and agreed. But they never sent the cheque. I called them again and gain they agreed that they were wrong, they also said that my next Cashback was due and that if I sent that in they would handle both together and make sure I was paid. They didn't.
I am now out of pocket by quite a lot of money and in my view they have broken the law and the terms of the contract.
I will never use these people again for Cashback on a contract and recommend that you do not either.
It was nearly two years ago when I bought my phone from them, and will be buying again from them very soon! Chose a Nintendo Wii with my phone as a Free gift. Next day delivery, for both the phone and the Wii, even though it was very near to christmas. 5/5!! Recommended.
Mobiles.co.uk make their money by sucking the customer in with promises of lower-priced line rental by redemption. Naturally they are reliant on making this process as difficult as possible for the customer to discourage them from claiming what is rightfully theirs.
My issue with the company is that contacting them is nearly impossible due to an over-reliance on email (with no feedback to ensure receipt) and automated phone systems with nonsensical menus and broken links.
The blackberry I bought from them 9 months ago has developed a fault and attempting to contact them is like shouting at the clouds. I have yet to be able to speak to a real human being, and any emails that do get through are met with terse replies, if they are replied to at all.
On top of this, I am still waiting for confirmation of a cashback claim from 2 months ago, and have no idea if it was even received, let alone when I will get the money entitled to me.
Overall, terrible company that will certainly not be seeing any repeat custom from me, and I urge you to avoid them as well.
I have ordered from this company twice and both times they got it wrong so I will definitely not order again.
First, ordered a white iPhone 3GS and they sent me a black one instead. This one, I simply returned and got my order cancelled.
The second time, I ordered a Nokia 6700 Illuvial and this one never arrived so I rang Mobiles.co.uk. They sent me a DHL proof of signature signed under a person I do not even know and not under my address. It took a number of calls, complaint letters, postings to forums and 5 months to sort this out. For all that time Vodafone kept on billing me for a running contract even though I did not have a phone or a SIM. Their customer representatives and even supervisors would not do a thing to sort the issue out.
My advice, If you can find a same deal with a decent dealer do not bother with Mobiles.co.uk.
ordered at 7pm and phone & laptop deal and arrived at 8pm next day. Have not rang the company as that seem to be the biggest problem rated on here but delivery is 5 star
