Friendly, efficient and understandable

I have been very impressed with Moneysupermarket's handling of my application today. The person who called was very friendly, explained the process in understandable terms and made the whole process incredibly hassle-free.

An excellent initial service, easy to navigate website and an enjoyable experience. A good way to break the ice, get things started and give you a rough idea of the products that may be available to you.

Appalling marketing tactics

I obtained a car insurance quote from them over a year ago, since then I have received 5 or 6 emails per week advertising other products. Initially I simply deleted them but eventually got fed up with doing that and realised that I shouldn't have to be dealing with them. So, I filled in their opt out form on line, numerous times, but still the emails kept coming. After a quick search I found an email address for their Data Protection Officer and emailed her giving them notice to to remove me from any and all distribution lists as per the Data Protection Act 1998 within 28 days. As brief email exchange followed in which I was assured this would happen.

9 days later I received a marketing email from them.

As they have 28 days to comply with the notice it would appear they intend to use that 28 days, rest assured if they go over that 28 days then I will be contacting the Information Commissioner and reporting them for a breach of DPA.

My advice to anyone thinking of using them: don't give them any contact details under any circumstances, unless of course you enjoy having your inbox filled with spam.

used to get good quotes, these days not so good as i always get better by phoning direct. and they use swiftcover.com which is an terrible insurance company.

i went through a lot of compare sites and this one gave me by far the best deal on my car insurance, with having 2 yrs NCB but also a claim against me. My renewal quote was £1,958.74 but after using moneysupermarket i got a quote for £767.44! Love the spare cash, thanks!

Very useful web Site

This was used to review my house insurance and as a result saved £65 on my renewal cost. This web site also houses a broadband speed test which is free and has proved reliable and very useful as a comparison to BT

Saved £220 on car insurance

Well I saved over £220 on my car insurance vs renewal. Axa and I moved to Swift which I think is underwritten by AXA, how odd. Good clean easy to use site.

The best comparison site

There's a difference between people that seem to care and those that actually care. A difference between those that seem like experts and those that actually are experts. For me, I want more than a cuddly gopher that I can then flog on eBay to paper over cracks in customer service and I've found a company that delivered what I required! Everything I wanted, help when I needed it, genuine people that didn't seem like they were pressurising me and they saved me a fortune! I actually ENJOYED dealing with them. Moneysupermarket should be used as an example to every other company of it's type.

Money crap-market... not so super!!!!

Well I’ve been searching for a good site to buy my pet insurance and money supermarket isn't it unfortunately!!! It's a very difficult site to use and then crashes when you finally get to book your insurance. I called them and they said it's probably your computer :-(

So why could I book my Pet Insurance with another company www-petinsurance.com within 15mins on the same day! Seems like someone’s telling fibs..

Long winded and waste of time

I used this site thinking i would get the best quote in no time at all....but how wrong i was.....they want TOO MUCH INFORMATION!! and took me AGES......never again......felt like the experience i get from flying SleazyJet.....

Which I'm not sure is a good utility provider if you see reviews here.. They don't even help you look at other options which make me wonder if they have an incentive for doing this.
