Everything went very well until I found that half my clothes items had been rejected due to being 'ripped'. They weren't ripped when they were sent, the the processing team seem just to con you. Then upon trying to seek clarification via the online chat, 'Holly' just lay the entire blame at me, before informing that the items would be recycled rather than returned! Total farce, thoroughly unprofessional, they are basically just criminals with a naff TV advert - what a joke! Give your clothes to a charity shop rather than send them to this joke of a company!
Edit - In response to the reply given below, I personally don't feel that it was professional at all. Essentially you seemed to ignore my argument in the chat and I was only content with it because the conversation was clearly doomed. I will amend the very rude to poor however as perhaps very rude is an unfair way to describe it. This nonsense about the definition of ripped is clearly silly though. The clothes I sent in were not in a bad condition apart from the general wear and tear you would expect from a second hand t-shirt. Ripped is completely the wrong word!
My 13 year old daughter sent a DS and it correctly fitted their criteria for good condition with normal wear and tear as per the terms and conditions on their website.
Once received they deemed it poor condition and only offered her 7 pounds for it. It only had a couple of scratches which most people would agree is normal wear and tear and the scratches were not on the screen.
You get no way to dispute what they say and they do not actually tell you why they have marked down your goods in the first place.
They then charge a minimum of 15 pounds to send it back if you reject their offer. That is a lot of money to a 13 year old.
Complete and utter rip off.
Great company, easy to use. The APP is great for scanning in the CD's, DVD's and Games that you have. But as always they could give you more money.
The courier service is great but in my area they use Herms which they get kids to do it most of the time? One went in our garage but they 'read the wrong instructions'. But I had no problems as there was nothing in there
I sent a large bundle of items off, sending parcel was easy and quick, however order was deemed to not be worth offer value and items were listed as incomplete when clearly they were not as had checked all items complete and undamaged before sending.
received cheque and left it at that. However continued emails received saying order had not been received by music magpie and very difficult to close account and stop emails as system will not save email preferences when you change them to no emails. continued emails were irritating given my disappointment in the company,

Absolutely fabulous, really easy to use when putting items on, great that there a courier service and also that so many places will take the parcels. As for payment its great that it can be done by bank transfer or by cheque etc. Will definitely be my first thought for my next clearout
The service seemed pretty easy to use and quite quick, just took a week for the money to come in. In your email, you stated it would only take a couple days for the money to be transferred into my account. But it seemed to take a week. But good service and deal :)
Really easy to do, Great delivery service for free! Picked the items up straight form my door at the time it said it would, I could choose form when I wanted the things picking up as well.
All my unwanted DVDs and cds out of my house and I got money! Great, would definitely recommend this service to anyone!
Fantastic service from music magpie selling DS games and cd's, even though they weren't too keen on some of my cd's, and wouldn't take them...probably a reflection of my music taste and their good business sense!! get money but takes about 3 weeks to arrive. in both instances i had a courier which was good and free but one of the couriers wanted something to scan which i didnt quite get. otherwise is a good service and am likely to use again
They paid what they first offered, but were very slow to process the payment! I would recommend this company to a friend, but warn them!

Nice user friendly website which pays you for your unwanted items. They even pick the items up from you. Does take a week or so to get paid but would definitely use it again myself or recommend to a friend!
Originally i thought the service offered quite low prices for all of my games a total of £70 worth i decided to only sell a few of the games to music magpie and sell the rest on ebay which turned out to be a bad descision as for example 1 game sold for £20 after ebay fees and paypal and postage i ended up with £12 which was a £8 loss on sale price where as music magpie offered me £15 for the game which had no other fees involved.
It was easy to get a quote, the packing list was very helpful, the courier came on time and the email updatess were great. You knew what was going on at every stage and what MusicMagpie were doing. Once the goods were checked, payment was made very swiftly.
The collect plus service takes a lot longer than the old way of sending via Royal Mail, it took a week to reach you! Also the processing time was redicously long! All in all it's taken almost 1 month to get my money! The website makes it look and suggests quickness and ease, I found this not to be the case! I don't remembering it taking this long last time and would seriously reconsider using the service again! Really disappointed!
Overall I have been pleased with Music Magpie and all the money has now reached me - the emails updating as to where things were once they reached you are good and appreciated but although I understand packages are collected from the drop off points each day it seemed to take a much longer time for you to acknowledge that you had received the items. I like the free drop off and overall the whole process was pain free!
Disappointed that the barcode scanner didn't work as it took a long time to key in all the numbers but overall the rest of the process was simple and straightforward and I got the money only a few days after the cds had been received by music magpie.

As much as the money was helpful to me I think the adverts are alittle miss leading. The amount u revive for ur dvd's and games are very low it help me clean out some space but it would never be enough for even a night out never mind anything else and no good if u need the money in a hurry as it took 3 weeks from me sending my stuff till reciving payment.

it took a whole month from the time I have posted my items to the time I have received the money.
Long process , even blaming the courier. They do however have the time scale on their website.
They inform that they have made the payment and after several days of chasing them they admitted they had a system error which of course i didn't believe them.
The good thing they reply promptly on all messages through facebook.
I wouldn't recommend them and neither I will ever send them any of my stuff until they become more efficient. There is no excuse for their handling 1 month process just to get few quid.

Was more than happy with the service I received, quick, easy & hassle free.
Website was really easy to use, the instructions were step by step and clear all the way through the process. The items were collected at a time convenient to us and we didnt have to wait in for them we could just leave it in a safe place. From then on we were kept informed by regular emails as to where our items were and what processes they were going through. Shortly after the funds went straight into my bank account. So easy to do, nothing to worry about would definitely use m magpie again
Poor service, very slow and only found out after I sent them that I may not be getting the full amount I was quoted. Won't be using the service again. Would have been ok if I didn't need the money quick but I did, if I didn't I would have sold them for their full prices on other sites lime eBay or amazon.
This is the second time i have used MusicMagpie and all i can say is that i am very satisfied with the overall service. The company strives to make selling your unwanted goods extremely easy as all you have to do is input your barcodes into the website, pack your goods and then arrange for a courier to pick them up. Then, after verification of your items, the funds are sent either by cheque or through your bank, this website will not disappoint.
Having never used the service before I was a little unsure of what to expect. I was very pleasantly surpised how efficient the process was. It was easy to see how much they would offer by typing in the barcode, instructions for packaging was emailed quickly and was very easy to print out. Dropped the package off at a local newagents and I had emails from Music Magpie all the way through the process to keep me informed of what was happening. Payment was made promplty. I could not have asked for a better service.
the whole process was easy and there were no problems - my DVD's were picked up by courier and my payment was made within about 10 days. The amount paid was the amount expected so I was very happy.
I will shortly be selling some more of my stuff - I sold a few DVD's to trial Music Magpie and they did not disappoint.
