This is the third time I am waiting for a delivery through Myhermes, the last time the item never arrive. The time before this we wasted one week of our time and countless calls to a number that charges you but keeps you holding on till a prerecord message comes on telling you to contact the seller. 4 min at 10p a min
I have contacted the seller and asked them to review the use of Myhermes. this is quite a large company and I am very sure if they do they will put Myhermes back in line.
I suggest that everyone here who has reviewed or is going to. To contact the seller and complain to them and ask them to look for a new currier company and refer them to this site as what I have done. The Sales company did not know about all the bad reviews people have been leaving about Myhermes.
I really hope that they will sort this rubbish out. and I hope anyone else really frustrated with Myhermes dose the same and help stop a company like this charging for a worst then 3rd world service
Worst delivery company EVER. I have never dealt with a more useless bunch of people. Ordered something on next day delivery 2 weeks ago and still haven't received it I am also waiting for another delivery through them that has taken more than 2 weeks to deliver, courier has given many excuses as to why they haven't been delivered and customer services were both rude and uninterested. Both senders have now cancelled my order with Hermes and sent through another courier. From now on I will check if a seller uses this company and won't buy from them if they do.
Hmm, sent an item for repair with hermes. Was collected on time, and was with the recipient in 3 days. Very cheap too. No complaints at all.
I've just booked for the item to be collected from the mender, and returned to me.
I wish i hadn't read this page as I'm now very very worried.
THEY DONT COMPENSATE FOR GLASS IM DOWN £50 and EVEN IF THEY DID COMPENSATE ITS FOR UP TO £25 not £50 as stated. ABSOLUTE FRAUDSTERS ALL T&CS IN TINY PRINT WILL NEVER USE AGAIN RACHEL
i had nothing but problems with this company, the courier never came to collect my parcel. waited all day, then called customer services, then waited again. i was told they would come between 8am-8pm. after 3 days no one came. got fed up of waiting and asked for my refund.
I order a lot of things off the internet and particularly from eBay, using lots of different carriers. All of them have trouble now and again, that can't be helped. But I can say without fear of contradiction that EVERY parcel sent using Myhermes WILL have problems. At best it will take MANY weeks to arrive, usually, IF it does arrive (and that's a big IF!) it will be damaged. However mostly they just don't arrive at all, as is the case with a parcel sent from an eBay seller 2 weeks ago. I tried contacting Myhermes many times, either they don't answer the phone, or the web chat doesn't work or the email gets responded to with an automatic reply saying they will respond within 24hrs, but of course they don't! The eBay seller had to send me a replacement, which I asked to be sent via Royal Mail instead, this arrived the very next day. I have now vowed to not buy anything from anyone who uses Myhermes.
Using Myhermes is bad for your business. I don't know how they can be allowed to keep trading.
I payed extra for a signature on delivery when I sent a package via Hermes. According to the tracking number, the package was delivered yet the receiver did not get it. I asked Hermes for Proof of Delivery, but amazingly, they could not provide it. They charge you a huge amount for phone calls, keep you waiting ages for webchat, then cancel it at last moment, and ignore emails. They have unscrupulous delivery people who know they can not be tracked if they take a fancy to your parcel.
An absolute abysmal and dishonest service.
Waited 8 days for my parcel, and apparently they tried to deliver the previous day, but they can't have tried very hard seeing as I made sure I was in the whole day. No one came to deliver my package, if they did they must of knocked on my door with a feather as I was located very close to the front door. If I ever see hermes as the choice of courier I will make sure not to shop at said store. Clearly the self employed idea of hermes doesn't work, and I can only assume they lie and say they attempt to deliver something just so they can get paid.
Just arrived home to find that Hermes have delivered my halogen cooker, and as I wasn't in decided in there wisdom to throw box over a 7 ft gate, now the parcel clearly stated what was in it, now I'm left with a shattered box of glass, there is no contact number to ring to complain,
Absolute rubbish service, will not use in future and avoid all retailers using this company, don't even deserve the one star I had to give it in order to post
I run a internet business from home and rely heavily on carriers to send and receive parcels. I obviously have a choice when sending but not so much when receiving.
When I order items I make sure they are tracked so that there is somebody around to take the parcels and as I need to send items and I'm also a 1 man company I need to go out from time to time to post or deliver goods. I make sure I'm always around when an item is coming hence the reason I have them tracked.
I ordered 3 items at roughly the same time from the same outlet all on economy tracked 2-3 day services as cost is an issue. This was last Friday and all items were marked as departed on Monday AM which is understandable. The company I used obviously use differing carriers depending on cost also. ParcelforceUK were above and beyond expectations and delivered on Tuesday afternoon(1 day). Yodel delivered Wednesday Afternoon(2 day),it was Wednesday before any tracking movement on the last parcel from Hermes but I was happy as it is a 2-3 day service. The items I send out or deliver are on Friday mornings. I tracked Hermes and at 4AM on Thursday the parcel was at our local depot and given to the local courier at 10 am and marked as out for delivery.
As you can imagine I waited until 10pm last night with no delivery.
It is now Friday and I need to do post and deliveries but I need to wait in for this parcel.
I checked the tracking again this morning and all of yesterday's tracking information has been wiped and has been put out for delivery again.
Will I again wait in all day and get no delivery.
Do not trust these people as they don't give you the service they promise and they adjust their tracking(which you pay extra for) to their liking, wiping all original information to make it look like your the one in the wrong.
I will advise any of my suppliers to avoid this company at all costs in the future as it may be cheaper but it costs more in time or business lost for somebody somewhere down the line.
Sold item on ebay sent it by myhermes person said it was not what he wanted so after a few emails he returned it to me yet again by myhermes only to be damaged in transit it needed to be signed for but was left outside DAMAGED because i did not send it i cannot claim, compensation and now the dissatisfied ebayer will not answer any emails plus i now have bad feed back something i have never experienced so please DO NOT USE MYHERMES
I needed to send something I had sold though ebay last week so was looking for a courier to send the parcel from the Midlands to Scotland for a reasonable price. My Hermes seemed like a good option with a very slick website so I paid the money and setup the order to collect on Monday.
I then started to read reviews and became uneasy due to all the bad press about the company.
Anyway. Monday came and the parcel was picked up @ 1300. Website was a little slow to update but after this it tracked perfectly with multiple stages showing where the parcel was and then delivered 3 days laters which for the cost and size of parcel I thought was excellent.
Maybe I was lucky this time but I cannot fault the service. After doing a little more digging around the review sites, a lot of the other well known courier service seem to get poor reviews so I would put this down to people only leaving reviews about issues and the majority go's through without a hitch.
What a mess My Hermes made of a simple task: Collect small parcel from vendor's address, deliver to me. Not difficult to comprehend, but they managed to screw up.
They were late, difficult to contact and slow responding to complaints, Tracking was contradictory, and the item arrived after 12 days...damaged.
Their call centre seems never to refer an ongoing conversation back to the same person, so each one starts the script from the top, with a further reply delay of 24 hours plus.. Emails addressed to supposedly senior management receive no reply.
The price was the only good thing about this whole sorry episode, but it proves the adage that you get what you pay for.
I simply cannot recommend anyone to use My Hermes, other than misanthropes with time on their hands and masochistic tendencies.
I regularly order goods by internet but over the past 2-3 years Hermes have failed to deliver over 20+ items. It has got so bad we try to avoid buying things from companies that use Hermes but unfortunately you do not always know who those companies are. Most recent was a pair of boots ordered from Duo Ltd for Christmas which Hermes have failed to deliver. Over the years we have had birthday & Christmas presents that have not been delivered on time if at all and even a new swimming costume ordered from Swimwear 365 six weeks before a holiday that never arrived at all! If items do arrive they are usually delivered late by post or by another courier company. This is especially frustrating if you are ordering presents & we have often had to end up buying a replacement present elsewhere.
Each time they fail to deliver they give the excuse "access problems". We do live on a farm but it has good access and we regularly have several deliveries every day by other courier companies, articulated lorries , we have a campsite with caravans, campervans & cars all find us without any problems, the ONLY company that fails to deliver is Hermes. We have identified it to one particular female delivery driver but Hermes refuses to even listen to you when you try to phone them to resolve the problem! It would be a simple solution to investigate this particular driver & replace her but as they wont even listen to complaints they can never resolve them or improve their customer service. They have built a firewall around their company to divert any customer complaints. They have no means of progressing or escalating genuine complaints & refuse to discuss anything at all just saying that you have to go back to the seller. The sellers always come back with the same excuse from Hermes, female delivery driver refusing to deliver stating "access problems"! You just end up going round in very frustrating circles They then usually have to replace the item via another courier or arrange a refund.
My advice is not to use Hermes, they might be cheap but you will end up paying more in the long run to replace missing items or to rearrange deliveries with other courier companies. Also you will lose customers who have had previous bad experiences with Hermes. Internet feedback sites are full of similar complaints. It is no wonder they are 46 out of 47 on Trust Pilot & my hope is that they go out of business as soon as possible so companies will use more reputable couriers and other people do not have to put up with the appalling service we have received from them over the years.
Well where do i start.
Item was apparently with courier on the monday, by the following monday when no package was received i contacted the seller who investigated.
They were told it had been signed for on a sunday (only initials given) and left in an outbuilding.
We have no outbuilding and i do not know of any courier who would deliver on a sunday!
I inspected our cctv and this proved they came no where near our premises as the were reporting to have done.
This was sent back to hermes who then came back with an appalling and unprofessional explanation.
Apparently somebody they "assumed" was me was outside the locked gate showing people around a building. (Council building and cant imagine why anyone was there being shown around on a sunday)
This person let them through this gate but would not sign for it and did not confirm he was me and apparently told them to leave it by the gate.
So they got no signature but someone signed for it (contradiction no.1)
They got through a gate but our cctv covers the gate and absolutely no one went through it or approached it on sunday (no.2)
Left in an out building versus left by the gate (no.3 and no outbuildings exist)
Appalling level of service although my seller seemed to get rapid responses from customer service not that they should take any credit from this.
How they are still in business or why they employ such incompetant couriers is beyond me. I know they are cheap which is why i guess they get used but surely for a more reliable service the extra few quid is a no brainer to go elsewhere.
Reading other reviews on the internet the general view is negative but some areas seem to come out ok which suggests its the couriers they employ in each region that are letting it down.
Shame as we get regular deliveries from the likes of ups, dhl, dpd, apc, royalmail, uk mail, and they all find us and nothing ever goes missing.
I came home to find the note saying they had missed me and my parcel was at the rear. After trying to decypher that was actually where my parcel was. I had to get my brother to climb over the fence as I don't have access to the part of the garden my parcel had been dumbed in, to find out the my parcel had been obviously thrown over the fence to manage to land approximately 2 meters away from the fence. Was not happy as it had been raining so my parcel was soaked and the contents was to overall very disappointed in the delivery.
I paid for two parcels to be collected on a wednesday, come friday, still no sign of courier so I requested a refund. This was on the 22nd of november and I am STILL waiting for the refund. I have been palmed off , given the run around, promised the refund would be in, then they apparently paypalled me the money (they didnt)
I have sent of 80 messages, eleven phone calls and various posts on the facebook page.
I am now having to file a claim with my bank as fraud because they have taken my money without providing a service and then attempted to take MORE money out!
Unfortunately a few online retailers still use Hermes as couriers and I can honestly say I have never had a delivery from them go smoothly. I have on one occasion have the courier say that they were unable to deliver to my work (which has a 24 hour manned reception desk) when I had paid extra for named day delivery, only for them not to deliver the item the following day either. I had to liaise with the retailer directly, and essentially say I suspected the parcel had been stolen before any action was taken.
Another delivery was left on my front doorstep in the rain in full view of the street, having received a notification that it had been stored in a 'safe place'. Fortunately it was still there when I got home that evening. I am now currently waiting for another delivery to come to my workplace, but after having seen a nonsensical tracking status of "Delay - major event" I can't say I'm overly confident. I'd really only order online from retailers that use this company if it's an absolute necessity. If you have the opportunity to reserve and collect in store I would definitely recommend that instead, believe it or not it would be much less hassle and would probably save an awful lot of time.
After wrapping a parcel very carefully as it was breakable and i know MyHermes have a habit of throwing parcels over fences etc if there is no rubbish bin handy, because door knockers are too heavy to lift, I got it collected. OK Fine, a week passes no parcel is delivered, I phone the premium line to be put on hold for 20 minutes at a time (as the web chat cuts you off after 15 minutes and tells you to try again later!) Apparently there was no door number on the parcel, hmmm, ok I give them the door number and it will be passed on, a bit annoying as someone could have let me know before this time, another week, another phone call, it had the door number on but had been given to the wrong courier for the area, it had now gone back to the depot.
So, out it goes again, another week and several phone calls later im told its out for delivery that day, My customer eagerly waits in, no parcel, next day i phone to see where it is, to be told it had been delivered 4 days previously! no it hadnt, Another phone call after waiting for 3 return calls that never came, they got in touch with the courier, who said he had left it in the porch.
My customer does not have a porch!, there was also No signature that was paid for, the courier to this day still cannot be contacted to see what porch or where it was left, as this contained a rare yankee candle that probably cannot be replaced easy EXTREMELY annoying.
So they decide i can put in a claim, this wont even be looked at for 28 WORKING days, eventually its looked at and they decide i can get the ebay ammount back, no cost towards the phone calls or any other expenses im out of pocket, so i suck it up and except as i have allready refunded the customer.
A week goes by, and they email and ask for bank details, why they cant just paypal it back to me i dont know as thats how i paid them. I get an email saying i will be paid in 7 to 10 days, on day 11 i get an email saying i will be refunded in 7 to 10 days, on day 11 again i get an email saying i will get it in 7 to 10 days...here i am still waiting.
All i can advise is dont use them, just dont, Disgusting customer service, disgusting the way parcels are treated, and no one seems to have any thing to say about lost parcels that need a signature thats been paid for, left in a porch customers dont have, etc etc the list is endless!
Oh and just another moan, i had a parcel delivered to me a few weeks ago, the driver insisted the mans moutain bike [according to the big box] was mine, it wasnt i was expecting a small parcel, he eventually found mine. Him and his mate then proceeded to throw into the van, on top of the parcels there, an old washing machine that was waitng for the scrap man in my front garden, they did ask if they could have it, i was so flabbergasted i just nodded as i watched first hand peoples parcels get crushed underneath the weight of the washer!!! shocking, they employ tat men to deliver, no wonder so many parcels go missing!
After receiving an exceedingly crumpled up slip from Hermes through my door, with only a name and a phone number on it and no other details what so ever, a quest began that has still not ended.
The first part of this quest was to get the courier to answer their phone. I understand how difficult this can be for some people, there are a lot of buttons and phones are very heavy, it's just a taxing task and must not be undertaken lightly and must only be done after the same number rings for days on end.
The second part of this quest was finding where my parcel was after the phone was finally answered. I was greeted with a mere 'hello?' rather than any kind of indication that I had rung someone associated with Hermes and not a random number and even after I was speaking to this person for several minutes, I was still not sure if they actually did know anything about Hermes or not. I was told that they would never deliver to my address and to phone the person on the card. I told them the name was Carolynn and number on the card was this one, to which they said, 'well, I can't help you'. Oh...
This led me onto the next part of the quest, the Hermes website and in particular, the Hermes help section. In the Hermes help section you are encouraged to decide on categories for your help and then search for something to do with them. Why you can't just go to that category and browse, I am not sure. Nothing I searched for came up with any results, so I hunted for someone to talk to. 10 minutes later and I find a web chat option to talk to a Hermes representative. Now, I have only ever had one successful and helpful web chat with a company before and several unhelpful ones, but I give it a shot. Surely ONE element of Hermes must work for me!
The web chat. In computer game terms this would be the boss round of the quest. In film terms it would be the conclusion to the story, but unfortunately this story has room for a sequel. After waiting for 6 customers before me to undoubtedly be left with unresolved issues, I finally get to talk to an adviser with poor grammar, spelling mistakes and who leaves '...' at the end of every line. He asks my issue and I tell him, so he asks for the barcode on the slip that came through the door. The barcode is the last remaining snag of information which could give any kind of inclination as to where this parcel could be. He searched for the barcode and my postcode and then tells me something brilliant and not something I had already realised at all and that is... Where the parcel came from! He tells me to contact the company I ordered the parcel from. Something I had already done. I ask if there is any more information he can give me what so ever, he tells me that is the only information there is. Sorry, what he actually says is, 'thats all there is I'm affraid..'. After I don't reply to him, as I am dumbfounded by yet another delivery company who cannot be trust to actually DELIVER A PARCEL, he writes again, this time with 'have a good day...'.
I will have a good day, chat man. I will spend the rest of the day reviewing Hermes in order to make myself feel bigger than an unprofessional delivery company who fails at their sole job aim. I will wonder where Carolynn went and why someone else has her phone now. I will wonder if she is enjoying my Christmas presents I had bought and whether her house is now stacked, floor to ceiling, with stolen gifts and packaging.
I have sent nearly 300 parcels with them this year but have stopped using them.
They manage to break nearly unbreakable items. In most cases clearly on purpose.
And when you read the conditions they do not compensate for anything valuable or breakable. And in the rare occasion that the product is not on the excluded list, in my case metal tins, they deliberately make it as difficult as possible to make claim.
For the 5th time they have now asked to sent the details for a parcel they broke 3 months ago by pushing the arm of a forklift truck right through it. As the product only has a value of £ 4.99 I have given up now as it is not worth the effort.
In the past I used Royal Mail and with over 1000 similar parcels they lost a few but never broke anything. The postage may be a bit higher but in the end without the replacement costs it works out a lot cheaper.
Just a pity that a company that was given such a golden opportunity to be a main player in the on line market manages to ruin that by mismanagement within 6 months.
Last week we ordered from a well known retailer which has both online and store presence. We have used them in the past with no problem but they did not use MyHermes before. A tracking number was provided with the order confirmation. When we tracked the order we were surprised to find it was delivered yesterday and they had the customer's signature. I was the only person in the house yesterday (in all day), no-one delivered anything and no card through the letter box. MyHermes will not have dialogue with the addressee it has to be dealt with by the vendor. When I contacted the vendor they said it had been delivered and the customer had signed for it, since they would only see the same tracking information I could see. I asked them the name of the person who was supposed to have signed for it, but they said they only had a scan of a signature which was not clear enough to make out a name. So as far as the vendor is concerned they have fulfilled the order because the tracking report says so. I have not received my goods so am £60 approx out of pocket and MyHermes have once again at best delivered to a random incorrect address which I will never be able to trace or at worst stolen what was to have been a Christmas present.
this is how they end their chat when you complain

I'm absolutely fuming with this company! I run a small business but ship lots of packages. I've had complaints from customers about their packages arriving wet/damp, boxes crushed so badly that either the contents are broken or they cannot be sent as gifts as the gift packaging is so badly damaged!. When I call for compensation the answer is no and I can't get to speak to anyone other than the front line call assistant who can't help at all and just apologises - which doesn't help us. Today, again I've had no one arrive to collect my parcels, I've asked for a refund and will be sending them by another courier. I will be writing to their CEO at Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley Leeds, LS27 0WH to complain and suggest others do too. It appears she runs a sham of a company! I have been told that a manager will call me today but I'm still waiting. When my parcels didn't get collected this morning I personally delivered them to the collection point (baring in mind that I've just paid to have them collected) and found heaps of parcels stacked outside waiting to be collected/delivered - no wonder the boxes are wet/damp! Needless to say I didn't leave my parcels - I brought them back to send with another courier.
To make matters worse, I understand that at our local Lakeside Depot in Redditch the parcels are not at all treated with respect!
1. They arrive in tonne bags which get dragged across a car park.
2. These are emptied onto the floor where men just throw the parcels into different vans according to their postcode, irrespective of their size and weight, so small light parcels have big, heavy ones landing on them.
3. Forget sticking fragile tape on your parcel because these get thrown in as well.
4. The vans are packed to the gunnels so the parcels fall out at the depots.
So, the moral of the story is... Pay a bit more and get your parcels delivered by another courier!!

Waited in all day for my parcel to be collected ( this has been arranged by the buyer and not by me) and they never turned up I rang and was advised collection between 8am-8pm nothing happened no one came. I'm astonished that considering all the negative reviews regarding the "service" ( and I use the word "service" very very loosely) that they are still allowed to continue in business. It's shocking it really is
SCANDALOUS COMPANY lie over delivery and signature make you run round in circles until you give up but not this time, small claims court summons is on the way!
I have been using my home shopping sites for a while and depending on the item they use HERMES.
Last Xmas i had an issue with them throwing my parcels OVER my 7 foot high back garden fence, even when i was in the house awaiting (they never even bothered to knock front door first)
Since then i have had a few parcels with no issues.
Now i ordered my daugthers main Xmas present on the 18th of november and it was dispatched same day and reached their HUB on 19th.. since then nothing.
It is now the 27th and i have no idea if i am gonna get my daugthers present in time as there is no-one i can speak too at hermes and my catalouge which i ordered from says i have to wait a set time before they get involved.
Normally i would be patient but this time of year is the most important time to get it right.
Get your act together Hermes and send my item
Also nice to see that Hermes has time to report posts but no time to reply to users that need help.
Thanks to the post 3 above for information also (which has now been deleted)
My parcel should have been collected on 18/11/13 and it wasn't. Then it was scheduled for re-collection on 25/11/13 and wasn't then either. I used the Live-Chat on Hermes; helpful person called Andrea looked into the problem but, in brief was only able to tell me that apparently collections are not guaranteed. Therefore, it seems that you can reschedule a recollection as many times as you like, and they will 'not guarantee' to collect your parcel on each occasion, meanwhile your recipient is left thinking that you've either abandoned or cheated them. Unfortunately, in the future I would not be able to use such a service that could damage my reputation as a reliable supplier. Thanks, but no thanks.

My company used them for a while for a relatively small percentage of our parcels, but they were responsible for over 90% of delivery problems and 99% of losses. And when there was a problem trying to get it resolved was a nightmare.
I chose Myhermes because of the convenience of the collection service from your own house to fulfil some ebay sales. What a TERRIBLE mistake it was to use this company. This company is an absolute joke. I left my parcels ready for collection on the arranged date, in the arranged place and the courier has just not turned up. Despite attempts to chase this up a week has passed and there has still been no sign of any courier, not note, nothing. I have tried customer services by every channel and you get absolutely nowhere. And example of one of the many useless customer service responses:

I have also tried calling, tried earlier (on a Monday) at 7:45pm only to be met with an automated 'our office hours are Monday - Friday from 8am - 8:30pm' despite calling within that window.
I advise all to avoid this appalling company and save yourself considerable grief and difficulty. I will now begin what I imagine to be a long and painful recovery of my money and attempts to smooth things over with angry ebay customers.
I am faced with little option to resend my parcels via the trusty Royal Mail and try and recoup the money MyHermes has STOLEN later.
Purchased a Groupon which was delivered by this company.
The Item arrived undamaged and was delivered in a reasonable time frame.
Had not heard of this company before but the service I received was as expected with any delivery service.
Ordered a dress early on a friday morning to wear to a christening on the Sunday (never normally leave it so late but was poor until payday!) Waited in all day Saturday, with the high street retailer I bought it from saying it was dispatched at 5.35am. Still no sign of my dress a week later!!!!!
I bought my kids complete xmas from ideal world, the hermes delivery driver put a card through the door saying out parcels were in the outside bins, they were not there. No contact numbers, no customer care and £400 wasted. Ideal world are trying to sort it but I can't afford to pay that money again. Avoid this so called company.
I've made two internet purchases lately which were supposed to be delivered by MyHermes. The first was a large picture frame that was dispatched to me 3 times by the very patient retailer. Each time, My Hermes showed it as delivered to my house and signed for. Eventually a lady from several streets away brought over one of the frames that had been inexplicably left with her. I'm now chasing a delivery that they claim was made to my house (and signed for) last week. The only way of getting in touch with the company is through a premium number, and they will only speak to the sender, so it;s incredibly frustrating. Judging by the other reviews, lying about deliveries seems to be a common occurance. I would avoid them and will not make any further purchases from retailers who use them as couriers.
I had someone wait in all day for a package only to find that "Jane" had put a delivery card through the door without actually using the bell or knocking the door. The following day, she rang the bell and knocked the door, within the 20 seconds it took me to get to the door she was nowhere in sight. She must have run back to her car and sped off. USELESS!
