Arranged home collection and delivery of a parcel for my on-line business. Waited all day and nobody showed to collect , I e-mailed them several times and nobody from HERMES has even bothered to reply - over a week now!. No way could they be trusted with a parcel so thank God they didn't collect. Opened a case via Paypal so hopefully a refund will be issued (Hermes have not responded to that either). TERRIBLE SERVICE.
I brought some japanese bonsai pots off eBay, and found them chucked over my gate in a cardboard box, because no one was in. Of course they were smashed to pieces.
What careless idiot throws anything over a fence.
And trying to resolve the issue with them is a waste of time.
No customer care whatsoever.

Ordered a parcel which the company used this courier and my god they left the parcel with my neighbour as i wasnt in and left a card with me saying it was there but when i went to get it she told me she sent it... they never left another card to say that they had it..... got in touch with them and my god they were really ignorant to me on the live chat thing and basically disconnected me from them! never ever again will i order through them!!!
Shocking company. Didn't collect parcel when they said they would although I paid extra for it to be collected on a Saturday. Then couldn't promise that they'd be able to collect it on the Monday. I got told I'd get a £1 refund. After reading reviews on here I decided not to trust them and cancelled. Will go to the post office instead. Don't use. Waste of time!
I am so mad, frustrated upset and angry. Today I received a message from an ebay customer that she has not received her parcel that I sent on 28th october, it's showing that it has not moved from the courier pick up.
This is the 2nd parcel that has not gone any further than the courier pick up and the strange thing is they were both shoes and both the same size. I have had to refund the 1st missing parcel and I still haven't received my compensation from myhermes.
You can't phone because it is an 0871 number and my 1st telephone call came to £8 so won't be doing that again. Can't get them on live chat coz live chat is closed!! So emailed them. And come here to let off steam.
I think the police should get involved as I think items have been stolen. Any advice re if i think my items have been stolen - would the police investigate??
Update - 15/11/13 - they have lost another parcel AGAIN - 3rd "lost parcel" in 10 days. 3rd parcel that i have to refund ebay customers and not sausage from myhermes And not only have they lost a parcel, they are now saying they didn't received my missing parcel claim form that I did complete and submit online. So I had to re submit and have to wait 28 days from the day form is re submitted!! A ING JOKE!!
UPDATE - 19TH NOVEMBER ANOTHER LOST PARCEL - 4 PARCELS LOST 2 WEEKS.
I now write on every ebay listing near the title so that everybody can see when browsing "rest assured I won't be using myhermes". And never buy from anyone who uses myhermes.

Just set up a new online business and researched couriers and thought My Hermes looked professional and so I booked my first 2 parcels with them and guess what? They have not collected it and the customer wanted the bag for the weekend. They take half hour to answer. We chat and offer no solution and like previous customers state they don't answer the phone. Lost another customer.
I sent a parcel to my customer and instead of delivering the parcel to her, they put it in the recycling refuse bin and then failed to tell her where it was so of course the binmen came and took the bin complete with parcel! What stupid dimwit would put a parcel in a dustbin and then forget to tell the customer! My Hermes that's who! Since I was contacted by the customer I chased My Hermes and tried to locate the parcel I was promised an answer to my questions within 24hours I am still waiting and that was 5 days ago! I have since managed to contact them via their Facebook page which is full of very unhappy customers all with similar concerns. I had to refund my customer and now I am out of pocket and trying to get someone to send me a claim form is nearly impossible. Use My Hermes at your peril!
I was recommended to use Hermes- courier service and I will never ever use them again. I sent a parcel of mugs within the UK. They were well packaged, bubble-wrapped, and I followed all of their guidelines. Unfortunately 2 out of 4 mugs arrived broken. I thought it is alright - I will seek compensation through the courier since I have had to refund the eBayer for these items. I was sadly mistaken - the list of items exempt cover everything possible - including stoneware mugs and therefore I am still out of pocket. How a courier service delivering an item less than 100miles can smash half of the contents (and not the other half) baffles me. DO NOT USE!!!!!
Honestly I do not know how this company are allowed to still trade. They are incompetent, careless, dim-witted, just completely completely rubbish. Yes, they are cheap, but not when you consider how much time you will spend chasing them via email or how much you will rack up on their premium phone lines.
I'd sent a hi-fi through them to an ebay buyer, it arrived smashed up. Completely destroyed - buyer sent it back and I was appalled at the state of it. Could not sort out compensation as I was working abroad for 6 months and emails were never replied to. I let it slide as bad luck.
Now back in England, I sell a pair of boots on eBay. Arrange pick-up of the boots for 29 Oct. I stay in all day; no-one comes. Nothing is dropped through door saying they tried to deliver, no phone calls made to number I provided. So basically, they had no intention of picking the parcel up. Same thing the next day. The day after that, I call them. Braindead girl on the other end promises she'll try to contact the collections company and they will pick up tomorrow. Unsurprisingly, no pick-up the next day. Sick of paying premium phone rates, I fill in a contact form on their website. They are meant to respond within 24 hours; of course, they don't. 4 days later I send another form ranting at them. Nothing. Next day I try and get a refund on their website - comes back saying I can't get refund as package is already in progress, whatever that means. Package is not in progress, it's still in my goddam hallway getting battered by bikes, muddy shoes etc.
Finally send another message saying I want my money back and will contact Trading Standards if they do not refund me within 24 hours. 1 hour later I get a generic email back saying they will collect that same day, sorry if the non-collection has caused any inconvenience. I have since booked and paid for another courier to pick up, of course.
Still trying to get a refund. This company is run by a bunch of chimps and needs to be shut down.
My delivery was supposed to arrive on 1st Nov. No one ever knocked on my door, despite me being home all day and NO CARD was posted through the letterbox, yet Hermes claim they tried to deliver twice that day to my address. Liars, total and utter liars. 7 days later I still do not have my parcel. It now transpires they have "lost" my item. That's £150 worth of camera, lost. Not even a courtesy email or call. Absolutely disgusting service. Never use Hermes!

Terrible terrible service, booked on a Sunday for collection on following Thursday, 3rd party waited from 7am - 8pm, no collection, waited again on the Friday no contact all day, at 5pm I contacted them, they blamed everybody but themselves, even blamed me for not contacting them on Thursday even though it states collection could be anytime up till 8pm - their offices and customer services close at 8pm!!
Re-booked collection for Monday, which collection was made. tracker not updated till Wednesday - still waiting for delivery!!!!

Okay, firstly, not 1 single card received & secondly the latest attempt was at 6pm when my husband was sat in the hallway on his computer, by the front door!

I have no idea how these guys exist. From time to time I get a note at my hosue saying they came in the middle of the day and I wasn't home in the middle of the day. OF COURSE I WASN'T.
It is near impossible to find their contact info, and when you do call, they can't tell you anything about the package unlless you tell them who it was from

I have a 100% failure rate with Myhermes, the one parcel they did collect, vanished, and after 3 months i gave up trying to claim, and the other 2 parcels, one time the courier couldnt find the building, even though its a 28'000 square foot bright blue building, then he said the collection had been cancelled, then just didnt bother arriving, and the next time, the courier cancelled the collection, saying it was no longer needed, then, when he did arrive 2 days later, dropped a pracel off, scanned the collection, and took the parcel he just dropped off, and this time, once again, courier said collection not needed, he will return, courier cannot find the property, he will return, courier never bothers showing. I have sent an email, after spending another 30 mins on hold, asking them to ring me back, my next email will be a small claims form for my fees refunded, the lost parcel im still waiting for a claim on, and my phone costs, all in one. DO NOT use this joke of a company
I started using myhermes a couple of months ago for my business.
I was chasing them for every single parcel.
approx 2 weeks ago I sent a parcel to a client, I was waiting for it to be delivered, then I got contacted by client who said that she found a note from myhermes under the door saying a parcel left in a green box outside.
The only green box was a recycling box, and nothing in it.
I was contacting them for days, spending a lot of money on the phone, all what they are excellent in is just apologizing, they keep apologizing all the day.
Then I sent another one for the same client, 4 days ago, and still saying Parcel delayed in transit, I called this morning they said the same , apologize and promise to call back within 24 hours, as they have been doing all time, but never call me back, I asked the customer service adviser to talk to a responsible, after spending minutes just convincing her to transfer my call, she was telling me that they are in meeting, after insisting she went a talk to a responsible, then came back to me and said they do not want to talk to me.
It's a waste of time, money and destroying my business.
I will never use again and I would not definitely recommend to anybody.
I pity companies using Hermes for their deliveries because I'm sure they'll soon destroy the business for them. They never deliver and never call to confirm delivery or anything. If u call them to track your delivery or complain about their service, they'll tell you to contact the people you purchased from. Their customer service is absolute rubbish and so is their service. Minus one star
We sent a parcel 2 months ago. We paid extra so that a signature was obtained. Apart from the fact that it took 10 days to deliver (it was at the delivery depot for 5 days!!) they left it badly damaged in our customer's shed. No signature was obtained, the driver just wrote "SHED" where the signature was supposed to be.
I e-mailed them but got no response after 3 days, so I e-mailed again. Still no response now and it was a week since my first message. So I had to call them on their expensive 0871 number. I spent 40 minutes on hold before I spoke to anyone!
It took a further 2 days before I was e-mailed a form that would decide if they would do me the honour of sending me a claims form. That came another 2 days later....
I filled it in and sent it back by e-mail. I get another e-mail asking me to send the form which I had already done. So I sent it again. Six weeks later and I still have not had any compensation. I don't get any replies to e-mail queries and I will not spend another 40 minutes on hold to a number that costs 10p per minute.
Totally hopeless. It may be cheap but it is not good value for money.
The drop off service is actually pretty good, and mostly for the last month it's been all good, the interface is pretty simple and easy to use and the compensation claimable being £50 compared to when you book on Parcel2go.com being £20 (what a joke), I would use the drop off service and not book with P2G.com, and request a signiture (only an extra £1.00), keep it up myhermes!
I've been using myhermes for 4 months now, (27 deliveries) and i couldn't be more happy, i previously used royal mail, but they lost so many of my packages i thought i'd try myhermes, and the courier that collects from my house is very professional and polite, the deliveries are normally with the recipient within 4 days, i can track the progress of my delivery with ease on the myhermes website.
My only advice is request a signature!!! only an extra £1.
I've used myhermes a few times without a problem. I used them to send a games console I sold on ebay. The console turned up smashed. I put in a claim which included forms and photos. I have been waiting 2 months for a reply. They say it takes up to 28 working days to complete. I have rang them several times and each time I am told that my details will be passed onto the claims department, although I'm not actually allowed to speak to them myself. I am now currently beginning legal proceedings against them to recovery my losses.
I won't use them again.
This is the first time I've used My Hermes to ship something I've sold on Ebay. I have used The Post Office on all previous listings, but the budget wasn't there for it this time, so I scoured the web for a cheaper alternative.
My initial impressions of the site were positive - very informative and straight forward booking system.
I chose to drop off at a local store due to my work schedules which was really convenient as the store is open until 10pm.
The following day when I checked the status, the tracking tool wasn't working. It still wasn't working later in the afternoon and had no way of seeing the true status. So I searched online for reviews and was alarmed at how many people seemed to have experienced issues. Although to be fair the majority were from people that didn't read T&C's or exclusions etc... fortunately I didn't fall into this category. So hope was restored.
The tracking system didn't working until 3 days after I dropped off the parcel. By which point my buyer was chasing. I was able to provide a screenshot of proof of delivery which settled his concerns.
Delivery was made on the 4th day (within the advertised time scale).
It's also worth mentioning that I have received a number of deliveries by My Hermes too without any issue.
I guess if you don't read what you're getting into and set your expectations accordingly, be prepared for a let-down. But from my experience all good.
I rated the experience 4 stars as the tracking tool didn't work and that I had to physically search the site for delivery time scale as it's wasn't clear on any landing pages.
I have been using Hermes since I started my Ebay business a year ago, They are cheap and never fail to collect unlike UPS who give up and go home if they can't find you with a satnav (no brain, tongue or map then...or more likely speak or read very little English in the case of one east european agency driver) Out of nearly 200 items I have had two issues where items were delivered to large flat complexes and left with "the first person they could find" or so it would appear. One was left with a cleaner who hung on to it for a few days and the other was stolen by whoever signed for it. I had a parcel delivered to my address by Hermes which was quite badly damaged but then what kind of dullwit would send a laptop in a jiffy bag.... Customer service is no better or worse than any other company these days, at least it isn't a call centre in Mumbai.
used 3 times to receive a parcel,
1st parcel got left outside behide a old car noone knew about no card was left or anything about 2 weeks pasted before we got onto ebay to sort out why our parcel hadn't come and they looked into it and the delivery guy had signed to say it was deliver so nothing we could do as it had been signed for weeks past looked over gate for it etc only to find it a month later when we went to fix the car all wet and smelly behide the car!
2nd time delivery person banged the door didn't use the knocker was smoking and my parcel smelt of smoke badly was very rude parcel sign as he was smoking,
3rd parcel had 4 cards with no details on it at all just a blank card no parcel number contact number or if it was going to get redelivered. In end it come again another smoker and rude parcel sign no good morning parcel for you etc very rude and card was not helpful at all i even contacted the seller explaining that i wasn't sure if my parcel would be redelivered or sent back to them,
Would not recommend at all actually dislike the company and prefer royal mail!
Our parcel was delivered to the wrong address. The delivery ticket stated that is had been left in the secure porch but the house it was delivered to didn't have a porch!!
This is not the first time this has happened with this company. The problem appears to be that they employ people who don't understand written English very well.
Twice now, nobody turns up for my parcel and no explanation. You contact customer support and you get a preprogrammed reply: they'll try and collect 3 days in a row. But turning up in the first place is the problem. And at the end of the day they are cheap, but unreliable and the slowest delivery in the UK by about 2 or 3 days. So they end up dragging your own good reputation down to their level for the sake of saving about a pound.

Was awakened by, someone resembling a dirty smelly farm worker ( no insult to farmers, I'm from a farming background), kicking my front door with his dirty wellies, too lazy to put parcel down and knock or ring bell. He was rude and ignorant, and just to rub salt in the wound his dirty, smelly Suzuki Jimmy dropped fluid on my drive.
Didnt collect on the day i had requested, when they did come i hadnt printed a label off so asked if they could wait 2 mins whilst i did, driver said he couldnt. Called later in the day to rearrange collection but said they couldnt same day and it would have to be tomorrow - next day surprise surprise still waiting for them to pick it up. Customer service unapologetic andgive no reasons for delay and no refund/ incentive offered. Will never use this service again would have rather paid a bit more and sent by royal mail!
You can cancel on the day you order. You can't cancel the day after, when they fail to collect. Absolute rubbish company.
Customer service just out and out lie to you. "Live" help took almost 20 minutes to connect, then the oh so unhelpful Alice treats you like dirt and lies.
I won't be using them ever again.
I sold a few items on eBay and used Hermes (without looking at ay reviews). First few times were fine. But then the most expensive item was "lost" somewhere between being picked up from the local shop and going out for delivery to the customer. I eventually called to chase and with no apology, reason, or anything coming close to empathy, I was told they didn't know where it was and to submit a compensation form. 28 day term, which comes up soon. Not holding my breath. Now I have just found out that an item sent at the same time (returning a product to a retailer) has also not been received. To be fair to MyHermes their website says delivered but, given previous, why would I believe that? Have tried calling (18mins on hold then "we can't help you over the phone", 20mins waiting on webchat then "no advisors available", sent email, posted on Facebook. Heard nothing. I repeat, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I've only used, sorry tried to use MyHerms once and my parcel has not been delivered. The customer service is of no service and DO NOT reply or help.
I'm now out of pocket and having to refund and compensate my customer who I've now let down.
I've informed MyHerms, because they do not reply to messages, I'll be pursuing a claim for my losses through the county courts.
I've been in the transport and parcel industry most of my working life (41 years) and I've never used or rated a company so poorly.
I can only recommend you NEVER use MyHerms to collect or deliver for you.
I used Hermes four times and although their deliveries were usually late the goods arrived eventually. The last time I arranged for a parcel to be collected from our Business premises the courier arrived and said she didn't have room in her vehicle for it, she would come back later when she had made some deliveries and had room. She didn't return. I called Parcel2Go, the agency who made the booking and took the payment, they said they couldn't act until three days had passed. Two weeks passed with P2G saying that it wasn't their problem and Hermes said that they couldn't discuss it because I had booked through a 3 party. No courier ever arrived and I had to book again, this time with City Link who came the following morning at 08:02 and the parcel was delivered the next morning before 9am.
Our business uses a self-storage facility locally as an overflow warehouse and in talking to the manager there I was told that Hermes used to be customers. I saw a video of the loading bay when Hermes couriers were handling customer's packages they were thrown around, kicked and generally mishandled including being left outside in the rain The couriers vehicles were private cars stuffed full of packages. in one scene a woman manages to slam a side door shut with two soft packages hanging out. When the car reaches the gate and the courier gets out to key in an exit code she sees the packages jammed in the door and pulls one out without opening the door, you can see the package rip open, she looks at the contents and slings the damaged item over onto the passenger seat, she then opens the back door and about ten items fall out onto the soaking road.
Watching this performance and then being told that the couriers get paid 30p for each delivery which has to cover wages, fuel and car use, I can understand why so many deliveries go wrong. I will never use Hermes again and have written to P2G saying that I think they are disreputable for using Hermes, I have a strange feeling that these two companies may have more of a relationship than they are prepared to admit.

Courier didn't show up for the collection on Monday. "Email" sent via online help system got no response - I now suspect it was never actually sent. I object to their expensive 0871 number so called switchboard, who refused to connect me. Sent another email demanding a refund and got a "we are investigating" response. I was about to use a different company when a MyHermes courier arrived with no warning late Friday and with a vague explanation about the usual guy being ill on Monday. I decided to let him have the parcel and it all went very smoothly from then on but it makes me wary of using the in the future.
4th time now I have had an issue with Hermes. Late deliveries and false claims of items being delivered to letterbox even though the item I ordered was too big for my letterbox. This time my order has apparently been delivered to my garage.. My non existent garage since I don't even have one. Checked bins, neighbours, neighbours garage and nothing! Absolutely disgraceful company.

Waited 3 days for collection still no ones been.Phoned company who have on system courier could not gain access, what a joke I live on main street plenty of parking and none restricted. This company are cheap but they would be they don't turn up.One other thing when I went on my order page it tells me they've been picked up and are in transit.Also their direct no is. 01133976400

They will either damage or lose your parcel. Customer services is an absolute joke. They are rude, abusive and useless. If you have encountered a problem just fill in the claim form then wait the 28 working days (what a joke) then instead of wasting your money on expensive phone calls just go to the small claims court. The £25 fee is probably cheaper than the phone calls. You get the court costs back and if they still don't pay then £100 will enforce it (you get those costs back) and once the bailiffs are involved....well you know the rest. While I have been waiting I have found that contacting sellers on ebay informing them of my experience is very therapeutic. I do not lie to them or give them my opinion I just state the facts. I aim for a minimum of 60 a week. for every power seller who stops using them will cost them would probably cost them around maybe £300 per week and word will get about so my £34.99 has so far cost them thousands.
