They need to fold this company

Just had some goods sent to me by this company, smashed beyond use, clearly intentional.

Couriers like this company deserve to go bust. Sadly they continue to operate as management clearly don't care about the massive negative attitude of their staff, the loathing they have of customers, the immense negative image this company has.

I now ASK online retailers which company they use. If its Herpes, I ask them to use another courier and if they won't then I tell them I will buy elsewhere because of the courier they have chosen. If others act the same way either they will lose business and be forced to improve or go under.

Rude and unprofessional!

My back door is not private it can easily be seen by anyone walking past. When I was home I heard the joint gate open so I stood up and just saw a women walk to my door bend down and walk off so I ran to my door and opened it as she was then going round the corner she shouted "parcel" and went. It was my daughters coat I order from ASDA. Then the second time I order something from ASDA my partner opened the door (he was busy decorating the hall) the same women just said "I came at the wrong time" Then she just said "sign here" then left.
I have another delivery coming from H&M via them, wonder if her manners have improved!!!
Wouldn't recommend to any person or company, avoid at all costs!!!!

Myhermes leave parcels on your doorstep if you are not in to receive them

I was expecting a delivery (from a garden supply company which had not arrived) by around 5.30pm so we presumed that it would arrive the next day. We left our house to go out for dinner and on our return (at around 10.30pm found a large box (our delivery item) on our doorstep in full public view. This is not the first time that a Myhermes courier has left a parcel on our doorstep. Last year we ordered an LED video light from a company. After a week we contacted the supplier who assured us that it had been sent and that we should contact the courier, Myhermes. They eventually, admitted it had been left on our doorstep but refused to accept liability, saying that was down to us and the supplier. Thankfully, but after much reluctance, the supplier eventually replaced the item free of charge. Myhermes had washed their hands of any responsibility even though I pointed out that there was no signature of receipt from me, the fact that they had left the package unattended on my doorstep for the whole day and that a public footpath runs right in front of my house. I can only assume that because the company work on such tight margins, it is not profitable to post a note through a customer's letterbox arranging a re-delivery. I suppose you get what you pay for!

I can only speak from personal experience when I say that I would not trust this company to deliver anything of value to me until they get their procedures tightened up and accept responsibility for shoddy service.

Absolute shite (and that's being polite!)

If they state they will deliver on a certain day, you can guarantee delivery somewhere within 2 weeks of the delivery date. My heart absolutely sinks when I order something online and then have the joy to discover that the couriers are these clowns. I ordered an ornament which arrived 2 weeks late, and when it did arrive the courier left a damaged box with a smashed ornament in it. When I phone to complain they said I shouldn't have signed for it!!.....Helllooooooo......it was left in my garden, who signed for it..........a gnome?!!
Its not often I review a company or product and only tend to do so if its positive, but felt that this needed to be bought to light, like many others. Please if you value your customers or items, use a different company. You would actually get a quicker and safer delivery service from an asthmatic tortoise!.

WORST DELIVERY COMPANY EVER!

SIMPLY:
They do not COLLECT on the day you CHOOSE, it's up to them (Had this on many occasions!)
They do not DELIVER within the stated time period, often making you wait 14days!
They DO NOT compensate!
GOODS arrive DAMAGED, OPENED or LATE!
GOODS are collected LATE and delivered LATE!

Would 100% Recommend you to avoid.
9 out of 10times they've been a headache for me as both a buyer and seller!!

Dreadful Service

The delivery service is the worst that I have ever had the misfortune to rely upon, they leave a card with no contact details on whatsoever, the website is absolutely dreadful, there is no way of contacting them regarding a redelivery, I had to take an emergency day off to wait for my goods and the delivery guy has no people skills. in future before I buy anything off of Ebay I shall check that they won't be using this service before buying. I cannot leave you anything positive about myhermes service, it is truly dreadful.

Poor service, Avoid, pay extra and use a decent service elsewhere

only been using my hermes for two weeks and so far my courier has failed to collect on the booked days four times, each time he has some excuse or other that his PDA is broken etc etc...., you call their helpline at a cost and takes a while to get through due to their high volume of calls!! (shock!!) , then today I am told by them that an expensive item i sent to a customer has been damaged along with all other parcels on a shipment to sheffield!!! Mmmmmm really!!! so I now have to claim back for it and refund my customer, in all they have failed to impress me and I can see why they are the cheapest on the market but also the poorest service provider, my advice is pay extra and use either royal mail or city link much better service never had a problem with them in over a year!, Hermes I have had 5 problems to sort in two weeks I think that says it all really.

Dont use this - not reliable

I sent parcel using this company and tracker shows delivered but my recepient never recieved it. When i checked and their notes says "left at porch" you cant just leave the parcel on the door step, obviously its not stolen as anyone who walk passed the house could see the parcel. Put a claim through now i wont get £50 as parcel only covered for £20. its driver's fault or may be he kept the parcel who knows, no signature on delivery "left at porch".
Wont be using this service again.

Parcel recieved battered, bruised, damp and smelly

Funnily enough, I've had no prior problems with Hermes before today. This time however, I received a parcel that looked like it had been kicked all the way to my office. It was ripped, caving in, just about holding together with sellotape and had clearly been left out in the rain or dumped in a puddle for some time. It was still damp and absolutely stunk. To say there was a very fragile vase nestled inside which, thankfully, turned out to be in one piece, this is absolutely ridiculous. I've also noticed that there isn't a section or contact details for you to direct complaints to on the Hermes website - very convenient. I'll definitely be wary of ordering from a company who uses this courier again in the future, it's completely shattered my confidence in Hermes.

Rubbish!

Seemed like forever to receive my polo shirts, I had a customer waiting for them! I was going to embroider them, Hermes took far too long delivering the plain shirts to me! I had inform my customer that I didn't know when they would be ready for her! (not good for my buisiness, ) all right they do track your parcel, but, they don't use straightforward words! NOT A HAPPY BUNNY!! LAZY COMPANY!! I hope they read all of these comments, might shake them up a bit!!!

Never Ever Again!

So, having looked around and seeing their eye catching advert on ebay, decided to give them a go specially as now royal mail have put their parcel prices up.

Arranged for collection of 3 items to be collected and left a clean note to day where the parcels are, the safe place as they call it.

Got home and found a 'Sorry we missed you' card!

Rang them up to find out why, and was told the driver was having terminal issues and she couldn't see the instructions and now she will collect tomorrow!

So I explained to them that it is not acceptable as the buyers are expecting the delivery and if it is late, I will get negative feedbacks.

So ended up having to cancel the parcel and go elsewhere!

Parcel2go.com I have used in the past without problems!

NEVER EVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!

My Hermes has to be THE WORST courier service i have had the displeasure of using.
As the winner of a custom made car part for an absolute bargain for the item it makes me even more bitter!
It has been almost a month now since i won the item, I was in the expected day of delivery and i didn't have a single person come to my flat (it is impossible for me not to hear the door its a tiny flat) having checked the tracking code it said attempted delivery. I didn't receive a card or anything informing me of the attempt.
So i rang my hermes and was put through to a woman who informed me that the courier said there was "restricted access" which is not true. She was understanding and nice enough to speak to and seemed concerned about my problem (good!) so then i gave her my mobile number, entry code to the apartment blocks and another additional number to contact me on. she said she would ring me back after shes spoken to the courier. i get the call and she informed me that the package would be with me the next day. that was now 3 days ago.

Having found an additional free number for the local sorting depot, I rang them with my issue and the woman on the other side began to explain that the courier never actually received my package meaning that it is still there somewhere. she than began to ask me what the package was etc and after informing her of the approximate size, weight and dimensions she asked me what the seller has packaged the item in and exactly what it looks like. After i began to explain to her why i cant possibly know that she told me "well that's your problem".

I am now once again having to contact the seller for info which they probably will not know.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Unbelievable.

I'm adding this to my review of five days ago. As Hermes didn't collect them on the specified day or the following two days after that I had them picked up by despatch bay and they were collected next day as promised, excellent service.
I have since sent an two more emails to Hermes letting them know what i think of them and finally received one back saying they were sorry and would be refunding me ( No refund as yet.) Today, exactly one week after the parcels should have been picked up a guy has just turned up to collect them (too late mate they've gone with a competent company.) The best of it is he turned up in a tiny Suzuki Supercarry pickup with an open back, really useless company DO NOT USE.

awful dont bother

Awful service . paid for collection of a parcel ,after waiting in all day for it to be collected they never came. i emailed them and had a standadrd email reply apologising and saying collection would now be the next day, yes you guessed it, waited in again all day and they didnt come again. i emailed them to complain and had NO reply this time, so i filed a buyer dispute with paypal in the resolution centre as thats how i paid for the service and got a refund. if you want to waste time, money and effort try them, if you want a first class service use collect plus instead who are brilliant. !!

6 out of 6 parcels smashed!

After spending extra time and care to bubble wrap and putting extra foam noodles in my boxes all 6 of my packages arrived smashed. One lady said her box arrived open with every item inside smashed. Another said the box arrived squashed with a large foot print on one side. It had clearly been given a good kicking! One even said she almost cried when she saw the state of the box as it looked like it had been run over!
If your using hermes dont label your items fragile as this clearly singles them out for "special" treatment!

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: ITEM THROWN OVER GATE ONTO STONE SUFRACE.

I actually think this company is heading for a police investigation.
Instead of pressing the bell, the idiot delivery person has thrown it onto the stone ground over a gate. The item was faulty. Probably due to being smashed against the ground.

Disgusting -Shamefull- Not worthy of any stars!

A parcel was delivered to me open. I have since spoken to the Courier who delivered it and she said that she picked it up from the depot open and would get some-one to call on me. No-one has turned up. I have e.mailed three times - no reply! surprise surprise. Spoke to someone on the 'phone who was less than helpful and said no parcels go through their depot opened as they would be returned to the sender. I had items in the parcel that were not sent to me i.e. two ladies tops a pair of cropped trousers and a baby carrier. The item of clothing that was for me was minus it's original wrapping and filthy. I was told to "bin" the rest. These items belong to some-one Hermes couldn't care. The item of clothing I should have needs to be dry-cleaned. I can't do anything about it because the contract to deliver was with the seller and not me. Would I recommend Hermes Never Never Never

The company has now left 2 'Sorry I missed you' cards through my door with no contact details for the driver on the back of either card. 3rd delivery attempt will be tomorrow and I won't be in then either, if the driver had left his details as he/she is supposed to then I wouldn't have this problem.

Contacted Hermes and they will not discuss the issue with me as I did not send the parcel, it is very likely it will be returned to sender and the issue will loop round again.

Overall I feel this is a waste of my time, Hermes time, the drivers time and finally MandM directs time.

badly damaged parcel, never seen anything like that before

They must be proper throwing parcels around, in 5 years using different couriers never seen anything like that. Customer services rather rude, claim for damaged goods probably going nowhere by the looks of it.
AVOID, try others.
Collect plus is bad when it comes to consignments being lost, but they process claims in 7 days and you get your money back no problem. And customer service replies instantly to any queries.
Hermes can't be bothered by the looks of it, and they won't own what they lost or damaged. Waste of space

SPOT ON!!!

After winning a chainsaw on eBay and receiving the tracking number I was feeling apprehensive that the seller had used this company with such a poor track record with customers in the past.

I truly believe that they have turned a leaf, I arrived home just as the van was pulling away and the driver stopes, got out and ran up the drive to me saying he had just posted a recipt of delivery through the door stating it was left next door, he even offered to go back round to get it for me. What a nice guy, wish I got his name to mention on here.

Anyway, the chainsaw arrived within 3 days of it being posted even though it was the economy service.

Brilliant service package arrived safe, driver was polite. Can't fault them with my experience of them. 5*

Im currently waiting on a parcel from you company supposedly after attempts to supposedly deliver its been sent back to the depot! I've been given the run around by the people at the end of the phone telling them to deliver asap assuming it would be delivered today as i thought they had it on their person which they had told me they did seeing as they were doing their rounds, but now after being told to call back again and again Im now told its being sent back

Attempted delivery? I think not...

Came into work on my day off and sat at the office/reception area (with some work - as not to waste a whole day) only to check the delivery status midday and see that delivery was attempted. What!? No it wasn't - I've been sat here all day, no courier and certainly no delivery card left behind. Absolutely fuming and having NO option to speak to a human being about my parcel (apparently they aren't allowed to discuss the parcels they are delivering?!) I have had to go home without my delivery. Epic fail.

CONTACT AND COMMUNICATION IS ALMOST NON EXISTANT

I used Hermes about three years ago and after booking a collection for the following day I waited in for them to collect the parcel.... and waited.... and waited. The courier never turned up. I phone them on the 10p per minute phone number, got an apology and it was re booked for the next day. Again the courier never turned up. I called again and was eventually told they didn’t even have a courier to cover my area, but they still took the bookings and the money.
However, in January 2013 I started to use them again when it was more economical for certain parcels than sending by Royal Mail. I have sent 15 parcels since then and NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS but I send all my parcels to be signed for on delivery.
All that said I made an enquiry by email on the 22nd MARCH AND I GOT A REPLY ON THE 31st MARCH...... 9 DAYS FOR A REPLY TO AN EMAIL.... that has got to be the poorest customer service ever.
I know their prices are amongst the cheapest available but come on Hermes... something needs to be done.
My advice to anyone is if the value is £20 or more pay the extra £1 or so for a signature on delivery which will hopefully prevent your parcel being thrown over a wall or whatever.

MyHermes staff have admitted to stealing customers parcels from within their own depot

After speaking to MyHermes Customer Services it was made crystal clear to me that one of MyHermes employees has stolen my parcel from within the MyHermes depot. I would not have known this if it wasn't for MyHermes Customer Services team who informed me of this criminal activity.

I am escalating this formally. This will include, but will not be limited to, Trading Standards, Watchdog, the small claim courts, review websites, and additionally <private data removed>, the Managing Director. My message will be clear, "MyHermes staff have admitted to stealing customers parcels from within their own depot".

Customer Services told me there were two cages of parcels ready to go out for delivery in the MyHermes depot. The van couldn't take both cages, so the courier took the first cage. When hecame back to collect the second cage from the depot it had gone.
I asked him "Who has access to your depots, MyHermes staff and who else?".
Customer Services replied "No-one else, only MyHermes staff".
So I replied "so it would appear that a member of your MyHermes staff stole my parcel."
Customer Services replied "It would appear that is the case".

DO NOT USE THIS COURIER COMPANY. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF THIEVES AND ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

I write this hoping that I can prevent anyone else suffering as I have.

Lost my oil painting!!!

It's the first time I use myhermes, and it let me down and I will never use it again, nor recommend anyone to use them.

This is a parcel contains three oil painting, worth approximate £180. They lost it without any explanation. I wish I had looked their review before go with them!!!

By the way, this is a parcel sent from London to London. I should have use Royal Mail instead.

'left in a safe place', DOWN AN ALLEY?

when receiving a message from my buyer on eBay, letting me know that there parcel had not arrived, after a week of me sending it. I tracked it online and it had said it had been delivered 5 days ago, i rang up and they told me they had left it in the alley!, who does that? anyway after speaking to the buyer she told me she does not even have an alley and they did not even leave a card. absolute terrible company with terrible customer service!!!!!

Avoid like the plague

This company are a nightmare. How they are still in business is a mystery to me.

From courier not turning up to collect, to not delivering parcels, and then the terrible customer service, this company should be shut down. The response time on emails says 24 hours on their website, Errr ! try 1 week. I have never had a response in 24 hours, always approx. 3-7 days, and don't get me started on the phone lines, not only is it very expensive to ring them, I have never got through, usually hanging up after about 10 minutes waiting.

Last straw for me was one of my parcels wasn't picked up, I waited for 4 days, no response to emails and couldn't get through on the phone. Total fluke I happened to spot one of the regular couriers at another address, she agreed to take my parcel. Apparently my usual courier was off sick, hence no collection, no cover had been arranged and no one had let me know. After 1 week I got a reply to my email about this matter from Hermes, refusing to give me a refund for their delay saying the item was picked up. It was only picked up because I collared another Hermes courier ! I had to refund my customer the postage out of good will - something Hermes needs to learn.

Never again will I use this company. Shoddy!

Recycle bin

My parcel was apparently left in a secure location... after finally able to get in touch they said they left it in my recycle bin, which I definitely don't believe they could since my bins are kept round the back of the house. They didn't even leave a note to say they had been round. Well the bin men have been since then so don't know what to believe but definitely don't use this company!

Good for the money you pay, using for 3 years

No major problems, mostly with the damaged parcels, 1 was missing during 3 years, I sent about 300 I think, that's not too bad I guess. I know I just need to pack better in order not to get them damaged.
sometimes, can be delayed a lot, but it reaches the recipient eventually. :)
WAY MUCH BETTER THAN YODEL! working with them as well, only a headache... and they call themselves 48 Hour courier.... just kidding I guess...:))))
Don't be affraid to use them just pack very well!! About compensations, I got it after a lost parcel, but it took quite a long time.
I would say for the price you pay, it's worth trying.

disgusting that you can not speak to Customer services

Today whilst I was out My hermes delivered 2 parcels. The courier threw a parcel weighing 2.5 kilos over a 5 foot wall into my garden. I have a small dog who luckily was must not have been by the wall as she is still alive. I have tried to speak to the company who employs this retard and can't. The only person I could speak to was the company who sent out the parcel. This is totally not their fault. Fortunately the young lady who dealt with it was very sympathetic but I need to be sure this idiot does not do this again. Not only could he have killed my dog he had no idea what was in the parcel. It could have been badly damaged. this does not warrant 1 star

CUSTOMER SERVICES LET THE SIDE DOWN BADLY

Customer service is very very very slow at replying to problems, still waiting for a claim to be processed after over 6 weeks. Had a query on a parcel which took 8 days to get a reply to, need a urgent reply regarding another parcel and still no response after 6 days. Not happy at calls costing 10p per minute to speak to them. I pride myself on giving my customers a good service so find it very frustrating when I cant get answers from the delivery company when something goes wrong, which in turn makes me look bad to my customers. Cant fault the collection lady that comes to me though, very accommodating, pity the customer services let the side down, perhaps Hermes should invest in more staff!

The worst company on the planet

When they loose your parcel they really don't give a damn. The tracking is pointless as when the trail ends they just say 'Urrrr dunno'.

Customer services don't care and make no effort to locate a missing parcel. Trying to get compensation is like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone, after 3 and a half months of nagging still no compensation.

I will never use them again, if you value your parcels I recommend you don't either.

Used twice Sent 6 parcels in total, no major complaints

I've twice used Myhermes, and my experience has overall been ok, however plenty of room for improvement. I thought I'd share my experiences.
First time I used them I was sending a coffee machine and netbook computer. After checking out I was instructed to print-out the labels attach them to the parcels and take them to my local drop off shop, my car was in the garage at the time, so I carefully cycled with them right across Exeter to the local shop where I was instructed to go. However when I got there, they said the larger of the 2 parcels was too big and they wouldn't be able to take it, This parcel weighed 9.2KG well within 15KG limit, no mention of this on the website! Also the girl in the shop informed me that her colleague, who worked the night before, had forgotten to put the hand-held unit on charge. So they'd not be able to scan in the 1 item they were prepared to take, she seemed genuine and asked if I still wanted to leave it, I agreed and I left her my phone number so she could phone me if there was any problems. Anyway I left the shop with the coffee machine got back on my bike and cycled right across Exeter to an industrial estate, where the other drop off shop was located. They fortunately were able to take the item, had cards available and had a working scanner!
The tracking was pretty poor on both items, infact on the first item, the item was apparently dropped off in 2006, I'm assuming this was because the handheld unit had run out of battery, and then had not been setup again with the date and time, The girl in the shop though did phone me out of courtesy and informed me the item had been scanned in and had subsequently been picked up.

My second experience was a little better but again not perfect, this time I was sending 4 items, so again printed off labels, attached them, went to drop off shop, this time just outside Wakefield. Got there and was told they had no more cards, I think these cards are confirmation of receipt, so I said I was happy for her to take them as she could scan them in without the cards. Apparently though the cards need scanning too, and the parcels cannot be scanned without them.

Again the lady seemed very genuine and was very apologetic, she said that the chap who picks up the parcels would be here shortly with new cards. I wasn't prepared to wait around for him though, the lady made some phone calls and was told I could drop off the parcels without getting the cards so long as I was happy, I was relatively happy, so thats what I chose to do, again leaving my number. About 30mins later I got a phone call from the shopkeeper saying Gary (the myhermes guy) had picked up all the parcels and everything was fine.

So all in all my experiences have not been perfect, but there's been much goodwill and honesty. All of my items were delivered within 3 days and 1 item was delivered the following day.

To sum up, myhermes is a great idea and theoretically a great business model in providing a quality low-cost courier service, however everything within the process line needs to run smoothly for it to work, and I fear this won't happen, as long as just regular newsagents, one stop shops and the like are offering this service, focus on myhermes customers will be compromised, as all these places offer the service as a side-line type operation alongside a whole host of other things. Please Myhermes prove me wrong. I will in the meantime stick with them, as my experience has not been awful enough to make me not want too, also the price is great.

You may wonder why the 5 stars, this is because in no way do Myhermes deserve such a bad overall score, and most people with average experiences are not going to leave feedback. Also I feel for the individuals within the company that try hard to make it work.

AWFUL SERVICE, AWFUL ATTITUDE

I booked for hermes to collect a parcel from my hotel which they did on time (the only thing they got right). The package contained ceramic dishes and we clearly wrote 'Fragile' on the box and informed the driver upon collection. Yet 2 x weeks later I received an email saying the item was damaged and was now and their Swindon depot and was going to be disposed of! I contacted them straight away and they told me that despite the goods being damaged whilst in their care it was not 'their fault'. Apparently they do not deliver 'fragile' good so if this is the case this fact should be CLEARLY be displayed on the website. Now i have had to loose all the money as the parcel has been disposed of and they wont return it to me for 'health and safety reasons' apparently, if i want the parcel back i have to collect it from Swindon, i live in TORQUAY!!!????
I certainly would never recommend Hermes or in fact use them again.

VERY VERY BAD

Customer service is awful, they do not care about customers, to call them is 10p per minute, on the phone for 30-40 mins and your issue still does not get resolved. Would NOT reccomend to ANYONE!!!! Item received by customer all smashed up still trying to claim on insurance without success of communication from my hermes! STAY CLEAR
