[REPLY]
I recently purchased 1 x Huawei Dual Sim Sim Free Unlocked Mobile Phone. Despite following instructions, the unit was faulty and is now on route by Royal Mail to the freepost address, supplied on the website. I was assured at http://www.mymemory.co.uk/returns-policy that it would cost no more than £1.10. The item actually cost £3.70 to return and they REFUSE to meet that cost. I doubt I will even see a refund for the faulty reject (Hee Haaa, Cowboys alive and livin' n' Jersey, boy).
To MyMemory response - The counter supervisor at the Post Office, confirmed that MyMemory has a contract for items of limited weight and size. This exceeded that limitation and he even signed the back of the receipt and stated the reason for the overpayment after I showed him a print out of your £1.10 cost claim. STOP trying to mislead people.
I have used MyMemory several times now, and have always experienced quick delivery times (last time I paid for goods the same time as purchases on eBay UK, and my memory stick arrived first). I always go through TopCashback, and never had a problem with payouts from this company.
I like the competitive prices compared to similar sites, and have never had problems with the goods. My only concern is that due to the fact goods are shipped from abroad, I would be reluctant to return items if needed.
Do not buy anything from this company as they are indeed scammers and fraudsters.
I purchased a usb 3.0 memory stick and in return i was sent a usb 2.0 memory stick and i wanted a refund but no email was answered.
i know have to raise a dispute by the bank.
AVOID*AVOID*AVOID*AVOID*AVOID*AVOID
Baffled by the review rating on here and the amount of one star reviews I went back through my emails to find that I've bought various items from MyMemory right back to 2010, five transactions in fact (blu-rays, a DVD-RW drive, laptop RAM, a memory stick and a pair of Koss Portapros)
I have never once had an issue with them so their review rating is baffling to me, but alas, perhaps I've been lucky, or more likely, others have been unlucky.
I've always received my items within a few days, received cashback with them through Top CashBack so I just cannot fault them! Five stars for all it's worth.
I bought a Lexar Jumpdrive 32GB USB stick from MyMemory along with a IPAD connector only to found out that both the item are either faulty or fake as neither works properly. USB was very slow and IPAD displayed error message everytime I attached the connector to it. And when I returned the goods for refund, a customer representative from MyMemory said they hadn't received the item, and asked for tracking details. And when I told them that I sent the item via their FREEPOST label, they redirected me to a small print return policy they got saying that they ask customers to send the items via recorded delivery. So my question is why they make a joke of providing FREEPOST label, and why can't they issue a ROYAL MAIL return label like Amazon, which can be easily tracked internally. I bought items before from this company, but if their service remains to be that poor, then I won't use them in future and wouls request anyone reading this review, not to use this company at any cost.
MyMemory is the all-time worst company I've ever dealt with. I inadvertently bought from them over the Amazon platform (although the disclosure made on Amazon led me to believe I was purchasing from Amazon). I've had nothing but hassle from MyMemory and, were it not for Amazon intervening, I would have been screwed. I beg you - as I've begged Amazon - NOT to use this company under any circumstances. They are unethical and unresponsive.
They now send goods from Switzerland, and when it's delayed or not delivered at all they'll do nothing at all for at least 21 days.
They won't budge, whatever the circumstances. They've got your money, but you don't have what you ordered.
Spend a few pennies more if necessary - choose another company.
[See their reply below - the same old reply, the same old nonsense, the same old excuses. There are no delays with Royal Mail at the moment as they say - just delays with My Memory. And excuses.]
I was very suspicious from the start so should have followed my instinct. I ordered a dock station at the beginning of December. In all fairness it did arrive - but on the 20th January! This is a dropshipping online company. This means you order from mymemory.co.uk but they just pass your order onto another company (in Switzerland) so have no charge over your order, even though you have paid them.
They do not answer emails or customer support so I suggest directly opening a dispute with paypal. Apparently they get back to you quickly then!
Do not use near Christmas - the dropshipping company in Switzerland can't cope with the orders. There are so many respectable honest companies out there doing their upmost for clients, so don't use companies that couldn't care less about clients - not even bothering to set up an autoresponder email to say that they will be in touch.
To this day I haven't received an answer to any of my queries.
You have been warned!
Due to non-delivery of goods and the subsequent poor continuity of ‘customer service’, I would never use them again.
On 28 November 2012 I ordered an SD card for a camera that I had purchased as a Christmas present. Standard delivery was promised at 3 to 5 days. By 9 December the goods had not arrived. In follow up e-mail exchanges I advised that this was for a Christmas present, but was required by MM to wait 21 days whilst Christmas drew worryingly closer. On 14 Dec I notified them that as the goods had not been delivered, I would have to purchase a replacement from an alternative supplier, and would require a refund. With no sign of the MM SD card, the alternative supplier delivered a card within 48 hours at no extra cost.
On 21 December MM promised to resolve my claim for refund ‘….. as a matter of priority’. By 8 Jan I had had heard no more from MM. However, the original order arrived through the post on this day! When with honesty on 9 Jan I notified MM, they in reply asked me to return this via Freepost , but with no mention of my promised refund. When I enquired what had happened to this, they stated that the refund had not been processed and instead should keep the [now surplus] SD card.
No priority! No refund ! I decided not to waste any more time on them.
My Memory is OK for most products. But please check out for possible fake memory cards and memory sticks.
Purchased a USB 3, 16MB stick. Very very slow. Not USB 3 speed. Returned faulty (fake?) stick via Freepost Returns label. My memory say not received! But then I see small print, must send Freepost via Recorded Delivery. WHAT? Freepost!.
So they can say 'not received'.
If you buy memory check the speed. Better still don't buy for My Memory. Not based in UK and probably don't pay UK Tax.
Will never buy from My Memory Again.
I placed an order on 26th October, was told it would be 3- 5 days. On the 2nd November I was told it could be another couple of days. 5th November I was told please wait another couple of days and contact us if you haven't received it by 17 November. This might seem reasonable, but a friend and colleague ordered the same thing on the same day and received it 1st November.
There level of customer service is awful.
I asked for the Express Delivery option (3-5 working days) and paid extra for this yet I am on the 6th working day and still no items. They claim that the 3-5 working days is based on when the item is dispatched and as it wasn't dispatched until the 30th October I am not expected to receive it until the 6th November.
They should really rename this express option to Express Dispatch, not Ex[press Delivery.
Who knows if it will come tomorrow but if it doesn't I will be asking for a full refund of my product.
When inquiring about this order as-well, the service received was terrible.
Will not be using these again.
0/5, if I could choose that option
Matt
Cracking company, very competitive prices, fast and efficient service. Great communications on order status and delivery. 1st Class
I accidentally ordered the same items twice as thier website crashed when I made the first payment. I didnt realise it had actually gone through but when I received both packages I followed their online instructions for return.
They get you to print out a freepost sheet but in the small print they ask you to send it recorded. I didnt notice this and just sent it normally. Lore and behold the item has not reached them. Customer service is just a live chat with a condsending tone asking for the recorded item No knowing fine well I dont have it.
If you dont send it recorded they keep the item and dont refund you. This has happened to loads of people, read the reviews, too much to be a coincidence. Avoid like the plague, this outfit are scam artists.
Took 18 hours to deliver, Excellent price, Life time guarantee, Online video to show you how to fit it, Well packed, free delivery. This is my third order from Mr Memory and again it's perfect................. This isn't fair, I'm far better at moaning than giving praise, I think I'll order some more and see if I can find something to moan about with my forth order, no company can be this good.
For now I suppose I'll have to say FANTASTIC.
Have used a couple of times when I've found they were selling specific memory stick cheaper than anywhere else. Dispatch was fast and was happy with emails informing me of order status.
I have ordered quite a few items from My Memory. I have used their website direct and also purchased via amazon Marketplace. I have always been happy with service. Items have arrived within 7 days. Service not quite as fast as amazon as they dont work on weekends but if item is at the lower price I am happy to wait the extra couple of days. I don't know why MYMEMORY have received poor reviews as I have been happy with the service and will reuse this company if price is the best option.
Great site, I have made a few orders and they have all turned up within a few days. No problems at all. Brilliant prices and a speedy service.
IF YOU'RE WANNA GET RIPPED-OFF LOOK NO FURTHER. These lying, incompetent, blag merchants still have my money, nothing has been delivered. PLEASE BEWARE. Okay they have some good reviews on here but just take a moment to read the negatives - fake goods, no delivery, lies lies lies. They have a very nasty habit of taking your order when they do not have it in stock. I received a chain of 7 (SEVEN) standard, pre-prepared emails regarding late delivery. Pay a little extra and get your stuff from a reputable source.
They still have my money, they have not delivered. If you can afford to get robbed, go ahead.
They have a rating of 6.8 out of 10 and this is described as "Acceptable". Ask yourself this: is a 1 in 3 chance of getting ripped off acceptable to you?
received very very quick ... FAKE Kingston 16GB SDHC :(:(:(
well... all looks perfect... but just checked at Kingston web site AC LK and all numbers.... Fake
12pounds... not worth sending back.
BE AWARE!
Never more
As a photographer, I have bought many memory cards from mymemory over the years & they have always been the best value on the web backed up with quick delivery.
A package got lost in the post once but they were very quick to resolve the situation & send a replacement. Highly recommended!
Mymemory.co.uk or mymemory-uk on Ebay is located on Jersey so all shipments to main land Europe will be added local VAT + a handling fee in my case the product price went up + 71%. It ended up at 1.5 times the price that I would have paid in a local store.
Fast international Delivery took about week and half. cant complain.. on the fine print it said (Standard UK delivery time is 3 to 5 working days. However, please allow at least 21 days for delivery before contacting us). anyways the package came with no damage. so im happy. ty.
Fast free delivery and excellent price, with email status. all be it for a USB datadrive.
Great mail order company - business users watch out these ship in such a way that there is no VAT on the order making the prices to public cheaper but the inc/exc vat price to business less attractive.
Have still used and will continue to use many times.
Always satisfied with their service - great products at great prices with a reliable delivery service.
Just received an order I placed two days ago at a great price. Excellent customer service. I can't understand the problems some reviewers have encountered. I had a problem with a recent item and they could not have been more helpful.
Poor service fluffed up an order for a memory card, took payment via paypal, did not recogise the order was placed, then had to chase and re ordered the memory card. It then took three days to process the order before they posted out (plus another 3-5 working days postage), called the customer service line which turned out to be a recorded message tell you to email them as they dont answer the telephone (charged at 10p a min) online chat no help at all, shocking customer service, avoid if you can not wait more than 10 days for a memory card (which I cant), would rather go to dixons and pay an extra £3 the cost saving is not worth the hassle
This is an excellent website with a range of products from memory to games, great special offers and a nice looking website. If you need something electrical pc based, then don't forget to check this site out first.
We ordered a product from this company...fast free delivery they swear by......11 days later im still waiting for my parcel. All they seem to do is blame the Royal Mail...bad excuses!!
We would never buy from them again...customer service is awful, really bad....terrible company!! You cannot speak to them, you have to use livechat...disgusting company
We then found out, after more research this particular product was alot cheaper elsewhere...and it came next day!!
I no why certain companies go under...after dealing with this one
Forget about customer service, this company are a one-way train.
They are quick to deliver but there is not way to get through to them if you have a problem with your item. Luckily my phone only cast me £18 but it is enough never to buy from them again.
It's a shame to see some bad reviews here but every time I have ordered I have received flawless service. They provide great products at very good value. Shipping has never been a problem for me and all my orders have always arrived in good condition and time.
You have to think that out of the thousands of satisfied customers only a few leave positive reviews, whereas the occasions where something has gone wrong the customer is quick to leave a negative review.
There was one stage during my search for a memory card when I thought this was different company to the one I had first bought off years ago ( a Lexar card reader still getting good use). This is because the layout of the website had changed a fair bit. It still has good tools to help you find what you need and there's something about their range that makes me think they treat the products they sell seriously. The product information is pretty critical in the area of tech and there are noticeably better than most of the competition. They are cheap (an equivalent High Street cost for the last item I bought was £32 more expensive) but they aren't about "being cheap". The card they sent turned out to be a dud and the terms of the returns policy caused a bit of concern - if an item returned on the basis of malfunction turned out to be ok they could charge you an admin charge of a few pounds. I can forgive this as it's easy to imagine people buying incompatible memory out of carelessness - in fact its very easy and few of us haven't done it at some point. I tested the card out on various computers and they were all giving format errors of differing sorts so I wrote a few notes about the steps I had taken to check the card and added it to my returns package. Their returns system though is pretty slick and includes a Freepost returns printout. I sent it off and got an email a week later saying my product had been despatched which turned up a few days later. This direct replacement formatted in my phone straight away and is working nicely. I am very pleased with their service over the years which is why I have sacrificed a few moments of my weekend to write this by way of appreciation
I've bought several SDHC cards from them and dellivery has been good and the parts well packed. Pricing is excellent
