I've recommended My Memory to friends many times as I've always had great product and service, BUT, as products are shipped from Jersey anything over approx. €23 is liable for import duty and handling charges (I'm in Ireland) - this is not indicated clearly! I tell my friends to stick to low-cost items only...
I ordered A 64gb Memory card which never came, I got 1 replay from the company saying its not there responsibility, 3 Emails from me and 3 weeks latter and not once have i got another replay, they can keep the £30 as it was stressing me out too much to keep contacting them without replay. And if they replay to this with some BS like I see they have with other people then take no notice. can this many people be wrong, save time and money and go else where. I've given up!
I ordered a 32GB Micro SD card on Monday 10th February and received an email on 11th, confirming despatch. Even 2nd Class Mail would have arrived by today (15th) so I will never buy from this company again.
I bought a Seagate 2TB external drive from this company 8 months ago. I used the drive half a dozen times, for backup, and it has died on me. I informed the company and they have completely ignored me. I think, when you read all the other reviews, this is not unusual for this company. Be warned.
Ordered item with the 3-5days but up to 21days warning. In contact after 2 weeks but had to wait 21 days... waited 23 days still not here. All excuses under the sun as seen on other comments on here. Notice of refund issued with a duration to wait. 48 hours later with another refund email saying to wait later. I was warned by someone in that industry of the service and how the owner and businesz runs but I thought how bad can ordering an sdhc card be.. how wrong was I. Not even a discount off another order if I actually dared to give these con-men my bank details again. I have skipped over the the details so I may have missed some and not wrote it up to make complete sense but I am just voicing my opinion to make people aware
I ordered a usb memory stick on the 5th Nov and it arrived within the time stated (four working days later). I had my doubts after reading some reviews on here, but at least for me they seem to have sorted their problems out.
So I had a look at MyMemory and their website is pretty impressive. A huge selection of products at very reasonable prices. I was looking for an Eye-FI memory card for my camera as it is a pain to keep inserting /removing the card when taking photos. I ordered the card on the 7th December 2013 and was eagerly expecting to receive it within 3-5 working days. I contacted MyMemory perhaps a little early but 3 working days after dispatch. (My company send out hundreds of items a day using the Royal Mail with virtually a 0% lost or late delivery rate. Despite what people say the Royal Mail offer a great service) They told me to wait a couple of days for delivery, which I did,: contacted them again and was asked to wait another couple of day, which I did. Contacted them this morning (18th November) and they have asked me to wait another couple of days, which I will. I will wait for as long as they ask, however if the item doesn't turn up with an 8th November postage stamp, then I will be taking this matter a lot further. For My Memorys sake they had best hope this item is in fact lost. My best guess is that the item was out of stock and not wanting to loose the business they tell customers that the item has been dispatched and when they receive stock, post out blaming the Royal Mail poor delivery. I'll keep all informed of where I am with this in a couple of days. As a footnote to previous reviews: any company can make a claim against the Royal Mail after 15 days and not 21 days suggested by MyMemory, which incidentally has only just changed from 10 to 15 days.
Right where do I start!? I ordered an xbox360 usb from my memory. However I am still yet to receive my product through the post. I keep being told "Its just delayed" and that "It may be lost in the post but its to early to contact royal mail". Well I'm sorry but that simply isn't good enough! I find it rather odd that when I received my confirmation email that stated order had been placed, that it stated 3-5 working days delivery however please allow up to 21days before we can issue a refund or replacement if item does not arrive or gets lost. Its as if they knew it was going to be late or lost before they've even sent it!! And what makes it worse is that when it didn't come on time I investigated the company which lead me to here where it seems this issue is happening to a lot of people! My item only cost £13.99 but its not about the money anymore, its about the principle of it. This company lure people in with their cheap prices but in return the customer gets a cheap service! I'm so frustrated with these people that if I don't receive my item by Monday 7th October 2013, I will 100% be contacting Trading Standards as there's something not quite right about this so called "company"! So to summarise if your someone looking at this company's products and thinking fair play they have good prices, don't mug yourself off, go somewhere else, pay a little extra and get good quality service and fast delivery! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!
And if you do respond to this review MM, don't you dare offer me an empty apologie like you've done to everyone else because its pathetic and useless! Get your act together or Trading Standards will!!!
I ordered an SDHC memory card from them hoping it would arrive within the stated time. I'm currently at home but will be leaving to go to university on the other side of the country in 2 days. It said that the item had been dispatched on the 16th September, so I was hoping that it would arrive by the time I left. 7 working days later, and it still has not arrived! If I had known it would take so long, I would have had it sent to my university address. Now I'm going to have to pay and find a way to get it up to uni. I've emailed them and received a reply of 'we are confident your order will arrive shortly' - well that's nice, but I need it now. Basically, do not order from them if you need your product urgently, because the claim that they order within 3-5 days of dispatch is just not true.
Needed a usb memory stick for the office, and needed it pretty quick but not desperately. Ordered from MyMemory as they seem to have the widest range of usb memory sticks and at good prices. I expected delivery, as is the case from most UK companies, within 3 days, sometimes even next day with Royal Mail 1st Class. I was prepared to wait 3 days. However 12 days later and no memory stick had arrived. I had been reading reviews about this company and their poor delivery services. Well it seems people are right. Today I got a card from Royal Mail to say customs had held the item and to get it delivered I needed to pay £12.79! I couldn't for the life of me think what I had ordered that may be coming from another country - turns out that it was this memory stick! So "mymemory.co.uk" is a little misleading, and they are obviously up to something by understating the value of items for it to be held up by customs. I then contacted mymemory who initially wanted to refund me the customs fees, but I said I wanted a full refund, to which they duly obliged without argument so I have no complaint there. However I do believe that if you want something urgently, and do not want to have to wait 5 days or more for delivery, or even worse 21 days if the item does not turn up, then mymemory are not the company for you. I always judge a company on the speed of order processing and delivery, and unfortunately mymemory have failed and therefore will not be getting any more of our business in future.
i have nothing but praise for this company.ibought an x box 360 lego game and wanted it quickly for my grandson to use in hospital.they delivered it speedily and efficiently.i came across this website and was horrified by the feedback stating items were copies etc.as i am unable to check this g ame myself i do hope it is not a copy and as it comes from switzerland ,that it is usable in this country.a poorly little boy will be so,so upset if it proven to be dodgy!!!!! i have great faith in my memory and will let this site knowof the outcome after thursday.excellent service, excellent product.thank you MY MEMORY>
Wouldn't refund a sudden price drop in the items price after I had ordered. Would mean I'd have to send back and buy again at the cheaper price. Customer service slow to reply and they really wouldn't budge. Won't use again
It's been 6 working days (not including the weekend) since I was notified my order of a Kingston 128GB DataTraveler 101 G2 USB Flash Drive (£56.99) had been sent... and no delivery as yet. So, having never bought anything from this company before I thought I'd check if anyone had said anything about them. Well, you can imagine how my heart sank to read about so many disappointed customers.
I did find it rather suspicious that the confirmation email stated "Please Note: Standard UK delivery time is 3 to 5 working days. However, please allow at least 21 days for delivery before contacting us, as we are unable to investigate with Royal Mail until this time has passed," as I've never seen this before, and to wait 3 weeks before anything will be done, should there be a problem, is far too inconvenient. I need my flash drive now, not in several weeks... if indeed it actually does arrive. I do hope it does, as I am a student and don't have the finances to buy another one.
So, regarding the current state of play, this being that my order didn't arrive within 5 working days, and it now looks unlikely that MyMemory will do anything about it for another 2 weeks, I'm giving a rating of 1 star. Should my drive arrive shortly though, I'll be happy to return and award a 5 star rating. Here's hoping.
Update 1 (in anticipation that there will be more): 7 working days have passed. The postman came and went. Still no flash drive.
Update 2: 11 days now since I was notified my order was dispatched, and still no delivery, and the Royal Mail tracking service says "Information on your item is not yet available online." However, I did get a message from MyMemory (see below), but unfortunately it's just the standard apology that says I have to wait... so, not really telling me anything I wasn't already aware of. Nice to noticed though, I suppose.
Update 3: 12 days and no delivery. 9 days to go till I either get a refund or another flash drive is sent... I hope.
Update 4: Phew... day 13 and the flash drive arrived today. So now I'm gonna change my rating for MyMemory from 1 to 3. I'm not giving a higher rating because it took the best part of 2 weeks to get to me.
ordered the SDHC 32gb card on the 9th may for my Daughters play on the first of June as my new camera only has a small amount built in, I waited a few weeks before asking them where it was and got this reply "Your order was dispatched on 10.05.2013" but can you wait a few more days we are "confident" that your item will arrive........ well I e-mailed them back saying how desperate I was and it never arrived so borrowed a small one from my friend and on the 3rd of June I was sent my cash back as they have no more of them cards in stock so still have no card so I have to decide where to get one from but It wont be MyMemory.
I recently purchased 1 x Huawei Dual Sim Sim Free Unlocked Mobile Phone. Despite following instructions, the unit was faulty and is now on route by Royal Mail to the freepost address, supplied on the website. I was assured at http://www.mymemory.co.uk/returns-policy that it would cost no more than £1.10. The item actually cost £3.70 to return and they REFUSE to meet that cost. I doubt I will even see a refund for the faulty reject (Hee Haaa, Cowboys alive and livin' n' Jersey, boy).
To MyMemory response - The counter supervisor at the Post Office, confirmed that MyMemory has a contract for items of limited weight and size. This exceeded that limitation and he even signed the back of the receipt and stated the reason for the overpayment after I showed him a print out of your £1.10 cost claim. STOP trying to mislead people.
I have used MyMemory several times now, and have always experienced quick delivery times (last time I paid for goods the same time as purchases on eBay UK, and my memory stick arrived first). I always go through TopCashback, and never had a problem with payouts from this company.
I like the competitive prices compared to similar sites, and have never had problems with the goods. My only concern is that due to the fact goods are shipped from abroad, I would be reluctant to return items if needed.
Baffled by the review rating on here and the amount of one star reviews I went back through my emails to find that I've bought various items from MyMemory right back to 2010, five transactions in fact (blu-rays, a DVD-RW drive, laptop RAM, a memory stick and a pair of Koss Portapros)
I have never once had an issue with them so their review rating is baffling to me, but alas, perhaps I've been lucky, or more likely, others have been unlucky.
I've always received my items within a few days, received cashback with them through Top CashBack so I just cannot fault them! Five stars for all it's worth.
