I always reccomend Newegg!

When shopping for computer accessories and parts I trust Newegg.com implicitly. Their customer service is top notch, with friendly people always waiting to help out. The prices are some of the best in the industry, and when coupled with the outstanding service make for a site I'm always happy to recommend to my friends. They've recently added a marketplace feature which allows anyone to sell their products right on Newegg.com. Overall I'm fiercely loyal!

Newegg sent wrong item and they don't care.

Well I order antivirus and they sent me picture and graphic software. A mistake that's ok I thought. So I called them. They set me up with a free rma that takes 5 days to get there. I have the unopened box and take it to the UPS Store have it boxed up to protect it and pay out of my own pocket that's ok. Now keep in mind they sent me the wrong item. So no contact from Newegg for 7 days so I track the item and see they recived it on the 5th day of shipment. Ok now I wait. Still no contact from Newegg. 5 days gone by since they received my package so I figure since they say 2-5 days to process after receiving your rma I would email them to check on the process. Again I ask you to keep in mind they sent me the wrong item. A return email states we have received your item and please allow us 2-5 days to process the order. Once the order is processed please allow us 2-5 days to process the return. Ok now here's my problem. I ordered this product paid extra money to have it shipped to me faster. Recived item in 2 days only to find it's the wrong item. Send it back never mind the cost to box it and that's 5 days. That's 7 days right. Now I emailed them 7 days later after they received my return. That would make 12 days into this. Again remember that it's the wrong item it states that on the rma. On the 10th day after they received my order I emailed them. They say my order has been received and is being processed please allow 2-5 days to process now wait they have had it 10 days now. Process 2-5 days to process return 2-5 days to process refund. Now on the 14th day I called in only thing they could say was it was received and it is in the reciveing process and we are not sure why its still there. So am I wrong for thinking there is a problem? So on the 13th day after receiving my return I called in only to be told the same. But however 2 hours later I received an email saying that it was approved. And to wait for 2-5 days for the refund. I think I might have a problem using Newegg in the future for fear of this happening again. I have bought online for many years and other companies will bend over backwards to help you. Once I was not happy with the product I ordered they gave me a full refund the same day I received my order. And I got to keep the item. Now I'm not saying that should apply to this case but why should it take almost 3 weeks to get a refund. Well I say 3 weeks still have that 2-5 days to process the refund over my head. Shake my head.

I'm not a hardcore computer guy, but I do enjoy tinkering and have used Newegg for years and just keep coming back.
Great selection, unmatched search and sorting, and always the best prices... the fact customer service and delivery has always been exceptional is the icing on the cake.

Management & Customer Service Rapibly Droping

I have been a regular customer of Newegg.com for well over a decade. Having at one time been the proprietor of a “Mom and Pop” computer store, I appreciated the broad spectrum of computer hardware products and components, the then excellent customer service, and the competitive pricing. Not the wholesale I was used to, but very comparative none the less. These qualities, plus the excellence of Newegg’s website, is what has garnered my business over these many years.
That said, however, my recent experiences have led me to no longer hold Newegg in such high esteem. Therefore, I feel I should offer my observations as constructive criticism to possibly aide Newegg’s management. My observations do not stem from disgruntlement or ire. Of course, my views reflect a single, if somewhat narrow, perspective lacking a general overview. It may be more intuitive or perceptive than factual, if not outright chauvinistic!
My guess, or perception. is that Newegg:
1. Has become a victim of its own success, having become so large that, like so many businesses, especially after going public. It has lost the “common touch” in favor of a corporate mentality shifting loyality from the creator’s core values to the stockholders financial interests. The main casualty of this being quality customer service, which is now being approached from the perspective of what’s good for the company versus what’s in the customer’s best interest.
2. Newegg has branched out into too many product lines, making them master of none. It should stick to its core business, and be the best in that business. Otherwise you’re just another Wal-Mart or Amazon wantabe, and you will lose you your core customer base. Repeat and referral business is still the lifeblood of any vending business. Forget that and you’re dead!
3. Streamline your RMA process. No one likes RMAs; not the manufacturer, not the distributer, not the dealer, nor the end user. However, you need to remember that the end user is at a standstill until a RMA is complete, therefore a replacement (or other solution) should not take any longer than the original purchase process. For example, if I purchase a product and have it in 3-5 days, a RMA should be accomplished within the same time frame so that I can get on with the purpose for which I made the initial purchase.
My last purchase was received in less than three days (due to my geographical proximity to you LA area operations). The RMA for just one item from that purchase has so far taken over 6 business days since Newehh received the defective item, two phone calls, and a replacement is finely scheduled to be delivered on the 16th calendar day (11th business day) since I first reported the problem!
To add further insult, the replacement item is being shipped from New Jersey yet the original item was sent from the LA area facility. This alone adds an additional five days of shipping time! This makes absolutely no sense at any level. Except possibly in a Doonesbury world scenario, which is exactly what I’m afraid Newegg has become!
I hope you find this information useful in assessing your business operations. I will continue to be a customer, but you will not automatically be first on my list of suppliers. Possibly the venor of last resort! Lots of luck on maintaining your stock’s value with your current policies!

Poor management, untrained customer service, total mess.

I am a long-time Newegg customer. I used to buy tons of stuff from them.
But recently this company has been going totally downhill.
1) I bought a laptop from Newegg.
2) Got a defective laptop from them.
3) Sent it back. It took them almost TWO WEEKS to process the returned defective item.
4) The replacement item is in stock and available, but they tell me that it is not available anymore. Not that I want to do any more business with them at this point.
5) They announced issuing a refund to my PayPal. Said it would take 1-3 business days, 'depending on your bank's policies'. Darn it, PayPal is not a regular bank - they process transactions instantly. Then more time passes. I ask Newegg CS about my money. They say that it would now take '3-5 business days'. I ask them when and where they had any training last time. They ask me where did I see the '1-3 day' time frame. I said alook at your very own 'RMA Status/History' page - it says so right there'.
It short, it is a really messed up company now. Used to be cool. Not cool at all anymore. Their prices are often too high these days. Bad, just bad.
Do not do any business with them.

Concerning trend of RMA refusals due to accusations of user damage.

I purchased about a dozen hardware parts and accessories last month.

One of them, a motherboard, did not work. I replaced it with a known-good motherboard from a local retailer, and it fixed the issue. All other parts were fine.

I followed the RMA process and, thankfully, I also took photos and video of the board before packing it up to return.

Today I received an e-mail notification from Newegg that they determined the board (and specifically a blue heatsink) was user-damaged and not eligible for a refund.

Now I must begin the long, arduous process of spending my valuable time escalating this issue up the chain because (I can only assume) someone at Newegg mishandled the item. I can reach members of their executive team directly, but am hoping their support channels can handle it appropriately within their scope first.

Disappointing.

Fast shipping, Good prices, No hassles.

I have been shopping at newegg for many years now and have had no issues whatsoever. The prices are cheaper than pretty much everywhere else, the 2 day shoprunner is very fast shipping, and I've yet to receive a defective item from them. The Iron Egg guarantee is a real helpful tool to make sure their prices stay competitive and I've used it several times without issue.

Update

I was contacted by a Newegg rep and was able to resolve my issue. It wasn't %100 perfect because of the initial stress, but I am satisfied now.

Failed RMA

Got a motherboard for Christmas from Newegg which had 2 faulty RAM slots. Sent it back and after nearly 3 weeks of hearing nothing I get told that I bent the pin slots in the CPU and i will be receiving my old now even more damaged motherboard in the mail in 5-10 business days. I did not damage the pins as I checked multiple times before and after testing the motherboard. So the money spent was a complete waste. I will not buy from Newegg again and will not send anybody else their way either.

Horrible site

I am so fed up with dealing with this store. I used to shop here on a regular basis. They seem like a good store on the outside, but there customer service and shipping department is horrible. The past three orders I placed took longer to get to me than their own shipping estimate. When I went to complain, I was informed that I was wrong. Outrageous. TigerDirect.com is a much better site. They actually know what it means to value their customers. Once you know, you never Newegg.

The best place for components and essentials

Strange as it seems, even after close to 10 years of being their customer, newegg continues to stay on top of technology and is still my goto place for components. For me at least, their two best features are:

1. my order history...it goes back to 2003, and makes it super easy to upgrade NAS drives without having to crack anything open. It also helps me keep track of all the random projects that I've built over the years.

2. Their deals...funny how this is probably the only site where I actually pay attention to all the deals in the grid. It's been useful on more than one occasion.

I've never had issues with customer service, nor the products they've sold me....so I hope the streak continues for the next 10 years.

Item never received by thrid party newegg seller, Newegg refunds loss

Ordered new boots from newgg and they were shipped to Texas but I live in California. The tracking clearly showed delivery to Texas by USPS. When I contacted newegg they told me they were not responsible for items not sent by their third party sellers and that I "was on my own". . Newegg used to be a trusted site but since they went to selling for third party sellers, you are on your own. They will not stand behind slaes from their own website! I was totally betrayed by newegg after buying from them for 20 years.

Newegg has refunded the loss. I should have given more time to them before crying. Still no response from

Be careful if you order from Paypal

I have been a Newegg customer since 2007, and in that time, I have spent thousands of dollars with them. After my last experience, I have some reservations about shopping there again.

I moved about a year ago and I have emails from Newegg proving that I changed my address before placing my order and that they used the correct address when I originally placed the order. However, my credit card payment was declined and I decided to change my payment method to Paypal. Unbeknownst to me, my old address was still on file with Paypal, and Newegg shipped my order there. The package was delivered to my old address and the people who live there would not answer the door and did not call me back after I left them a note and sent them a certified letter.

I contacted Newegg for help and spoke to 4 or 5 different people. All of them made hollow apologies but refused to refund my money or ship a replacement. They said that they always ship to the address on file with Paypal, and since my package was delivered as addressed, they would not help me. Since moving, I have placed multiple orders with other merchants via Paypal, and they all used the shipping address I gave them, not the address they got from Paypal.

In the end, the best Newegg would offer was a $20 gift certificate, which was completely unacceptable since their mistake cost me $350. When I told them I would dispute my transaction with Paypal, they said would bar me from placing any orders in the future. Paypal resolved the dispute in my favor, so I eventually got my money back and made my purchase elsewhere.

Update: I heard back from wecare@newegg.com and they actually seemed interested in my feedback. They pointed out that there is a disclaimer that says they only ship to your Paypal confirmed address, but it is easy to miss. I pointed out that as part of the checkout process, if you haven't used Paypal before, it shows your Newegg shipping address, which is what led me to believe I had selected the correct shipping address. Hopefully they'll do something to make it less confusing. At this point I am willing to call it an unfortunate misunderstanding, albeit one that should have been handled better by their customer service department.
