Worst courier ever........?

Nightfreight are quite simply the worst courier I've ever used, and that's up against some pretty stiff opposition. I ordered collection for Thursday, 6pm Thursday their 'tracking' site suggested the item had been collected, but the guy sending it said 'no, it's still sitting where it was this morning'. However, Nightfreight seemed pretty sure they had collected it, and when they finally realised that they hadn't - about 24 hours later - suggested that the driver was an idiot (I'm not disagreeing, but it seemed an odd thing to say about your own driver, and didn't inspire much confidence). Anyway, eventually we rearranged collection for Tuesday the following week, only to find - you guessed it - that it had already been collected on the monday but that Nightfreight's system and customer service people didn't seem to know this! When it arrived the cardboard packaging was almost completely torn off and had the item in question not been made to withstand worse would have been seriously damaged. If you value the package you're sending, don't use Nightfreight.

Lol.... Couriers??!! they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat!

DPD, CityLink, DHL I have used them all... however nightfreight are the worst company I have ever dealt with, their slogan should be "If you need a parcel delivered.. use another company".... here @ nightfreight we prefer... Missed Collections, Grumpy Drivers, Failed Deliveries.. and our personal favourite! Break/Bend/Trash you parcels!!! oh and don't even think about claiming... we have that covered too.. (clause that states "once parcels are signed for.. you can't claim for damage, all deliveries must be inspected first" - sneaky as all drivers are informed to take away a parcel if on delivery the customer attempts to check before signing for it!!!

I have had two deliveries this week and both have been delivered on the day and in the time window that was given. The delivery persons were very nice and friendly.

Surprisingly Good Service!

After reading the reviews on here I was a little nervous about having the very heavy sports equipment I ordered from Hull being delivered by this company especially as I was not going to be in and had asked the supplier to leave it in my garage. Even more tricky is the fact that my house is on a new estate and the post code does not work in Sat Nav's and delivery companies have had issues before.
It arrived on the day they said in good condition and neatly left in the garage which they had secured on leaving. Whoever from Nightfreight delivers in the Lichfield area you are a star!

Incompetent and poor communicators

Received an e-mail yesterday from the vendor confirming delivery today via Nightfreight (a day I had arranged to take off work as it had been specified as the delivery day).
I'd never heard of this company (and we get a lot of stuff delivered from a lot of sellers), but upon reading the reviews I began to get concerned this may not work out!
By 12:15, no sign of a delivery - upon speaking to Nightfreight, I was informed the product 'has not arrived' in their depot, and they were contacting the seller. They also advised 'if' the product arrives this evening, they will send it tomorrow (although I cannot take another day off with 1 days' notice). I decided to ring the seller - who informed me they had despatched the product yesterday, and they've just heard from Nightfreight who said there was 'a problem' at their main hub, some consignments will not have gone to the local depots, but they couldn't confirm which ones have been affected.
Having read the previous comments regarding this courier, I can't say I'm surprised that their systems don't work (of course the tracking number provided doesn't actually work, as there is nowhere on their website to use it!). Please, all people selling out there who wish their reputation to remain untarnished, STOP USING THIS COMPANY FOR DELIVERY (I know they're cheap, but that's for a reason!).

Rude, lousy, ignorant and inept

I ordered a 3 and 2 seater sofa from Ambrose Wilson, according to my account they would be delivered on 06/08/2012. I took the day off work and got rid of my old 3 piece suite, I waited all day and never heard anything from Nightfreight, nor did my sofa's arrive. On contacting them, they said that they had been trying to contact me for the last week, however no voicemails or texts, apparently they don't leave voicemails or texts? Advised that its not always possible to answer phone and I wouldn't call back if I didn't recognise number. Idiot on the phone, allegedly customer services, wouldn't do anything to help, by this time I was getting rather frustrated and rose my voice to him and said the service was crap, he then hung up. On calling back as soon as he found out it was me, he hung straight back up. I now have to wait until 14/08/2012 for my sofa's to arrive and they will text me to confirm that it is still ok for delivery, but they can't do this to organise initial delivery. I still have not got anything to sit on for the next week, cannot even email them to complain directly to them, because I am not a business, would never use them again, and if it was possible to change courier for this delivery, I would gladly do so, they are ignorant, rude and completely inept.

Nightfreight...cannot fault them!

Excellent courier! New double size mattress bought from Worldstores was delivered in just under 24 hours, (London to Hayle, Cornwall), the Nightfreight driver single handedly carried it up the steps to my daughter's house and put it in the hallway. Fantastic service, highly recommended!

Very Pleased!

Customer services brilliant. Very helpful young lady advised that my parcels would be delivered the following day and to ring in the morning to obtain a time. Duly did and was told by another helpful lady the goods would be delivered in approx 20 minites, and they were. Driver very pleasant too and carried the goods in for me.

Would recommend as they do not deserve the bad comments they have.

Day 1 sent to wrong address. Day 2, it will be there by 12.30, then 2.00 pm and 3.30 now it's late because the driver caught up with a collection. I'd never heard of this lot before and won't deal with them or anyone who uses them again.

Lousy service!

I have been receiving deliveries from Nightfreight for a few years now but the service has got terrible recently!!

Deliveries haven't turned up or have been so late in the day we have long closed up but the recent thing is it seems the lorry delivering to us now is used as a swimming pool out side of delivery hours!!

Our last 3 orders have been soaking wet and completely damaged - and I am getting sick of having to make claims to my supplier and I am sure they are fed up of having to keep then making claims with NF!!

I have just emailed Nightfrieght as I am sick and tired of this happening, but found this website and I do like to publically have a complaint when a service is this bad!!

Fingers crossed they are in the process of going bust or something and this is why they are offering such a shoddy service!!

Not the best

Sadly your parcels appear knocked about, and previuosly when a 24 hr service has been arranged it didn't turn up as anticipated had to ring company who was uncertain of when my delivery would take place. If I know of an online store using Nightfreight I would avoid shopping with them through past experience.

It pains me to give this sack of shit one star.They earn this star because of the driver who was polite friendly and courteous, unlike the Scottish brain dead half wit working in their office his telephone manner was extremely rude, condescending and unproffesional. We ordered tiles from Wickes, paid extra for a Saturday am delivery, received 3 texts saying all was ok for Saturday am delivery, 3rd text on Saturday morning at 840am confirmed am delivery, the delivery had not arrived at 1300 so I rang them , scottish buffoon informed me not to believe what Wickes tell you if you don't like it ask them for your money back. this man is not the sort of ambassador I would want for my company. my advice is do not buy from Wickes on-line until they drop shitefreight as their couriers.

Complaints about couriers seems to be a reoccurring theme

I purchased some decking stain from Wickes on Wednesday 13th June, with next day delivery. Everything looked promising at first, I received an email from Nightfreight early on Thursday morning stating my order would be delivered between 12:00 - 18:00hrs. I waited in for the delivery, nothing arrived. I called Wickes 09:00hrs Friday morning and explained what had happened, the customer services representative told me she would contact Nightfreight and get back to me ASAP. At 16:00hrs I called Wickes again and was informed Nightfreight could not contact the driver to establish what had happened but that Wickes would call me back in 10 minutes with an update. At 16:30pm I again called Wickes and was told that they had re-supplied me with new decking stain and requested a Saturday delivery, once again with Nightfreight. I was unable to find any tracking facility on Nightfeights website, unless you logged in as a customer, which was not helpful. I have received the email from Nightfreight stating I will receive the delivery this morning and am waiting to see if any arrives.

2 x Pickups Messed Up Worst Company ever DO NOT USE

Right to cut this story short

Pick up 1 -- V6 Car Engine on pallet 150kg. Driver rings me 5 minutes befroe arival and says will there be someone there to help lift pallet onto back of the lorry!!!! I said its to heavy will need pallet truck and tail lift. He said vehicle didnt have tail lift but he would be there soon. NEVER TURNED UP!! Re arranged pickup for following day driver rings me up and said you guesed it can I help lift onto lorry!! I said same as before. He said lorry he had been sent out in the tail lift doesnt work and never has. I ring depot to complain and tell them need money back for this farce. All of a sudden tail lift does work and pallet was picked up. Now for the delivery I had told my customer of all of the problems and he was very good and understanding. He contacted me when delivery driver turned up at his, driver said could he help lift of back of lorry. This would sound stupid again apart from what driver had was easily liftable he had a pallet of wood and not an engine!!! Driver had wrong pallet with label. Engine eventually arrived.

Pick up 2 -- V6 Car Engine on pallet 150kg. Booked for Thursday they said they had attemted collection but no one was there and they had left a card. This was totally untrue as I had my collegue working there all day, on another engine next to one to be collected until 4pm when I arrived back and took over. I made a phone call at 4 and was told they would be there soon and collect up until 6 and there was still time. So it wasnt even as though my collegue had somehow missed them. This will become even more apparent it was a lie further on through this. They told me it would be fine to collect on the friday and I would get a call first thing friday to confirm a time. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. After about 5 calls that day I was told driver had run out of time but collection would definetley be made monday!!! and again I would get a call first thing monday. THIS NEVER HAPPENED!! When I manged to get hold of a very nice girl called Kelly at Southampton depot who looked into it for me. She gave me a couple of calls back but really only to tell me she couldnt understand why it hadnt been collected!! To finish this of I finally spoke to another lady at Southampton depot, who said oh yes I know all about this and it was totally unreasonable of me as the customer to expect the driver to lift the RANGE COOKER onto the lorry on his own!! Its and ENGINE on a pallet. I said I wasnt expecting him to lift it I never had thats why I had booked nightfrieght pallet service!!! And thats why I stated it was 150kg!!! Anyhow to finish this of I am currently fighting parcel monkey for a refund as nightfrieght jhave confirmed I am entitled to it and they will not be picking up

Disgraceful Courier Service

I ordered a bed on eBay, with NEXT Day delivery via Nightfreight, was informed that the bed would be out for delivery on Wednesday of last week due to the bank holidays, Apparently they left a card as they did not get an answer and did not call the contact number given, obviously i contacted the seller and they informed me that it would be out for the next day, as this was the information given from the courier, Thursday came and gone with no delivery as well as Friday, called nightfreight Saturday and was told that it would be out for a AM Delivery on the Monday, Low an behold still nothing and now they don't even answer there phone, No idea if and when i will receive my delivery.

If anyone who reads this owns their own company or is in charge of the courier services used for delivering goods, please pick a respectable courier service that will reflect your company standards as nightfreight will only give you very unhappy customers at a cost.

NO delivery and lies about delivery time

I ordered via Wickes and was promised delivery on Wednesday - it didn't come with the excuse that picking wasn't done on the Bank Holiday (Tuesday) - even though Wickes web site and confirmation e-mail said that it would be.
So I waited in on Thursday and received a text promising delivery by 12. when this didn't come I was promised by 6pm, and then DEFINITELY by 7:15. By this time the office was shut!

I still don't know when I'm going to get my goods. Were they picked Thursday for Friday delivery? - no one has told me.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I'm sorry I had to give it one star

Stated that my item was out for delivery on a Saturday and said it would be out for delivery in a couple of hours. after 3 hours i called back and was told that my mattress was not out for delivery. then i tried to call back to speak to a manager and no one picked up. Not a good service.... AVOID!!

dont not use for collections

Nightfrieght damaged an item which has cost £270.00 to correct and as i arranged collection from supplier they say the item is not covered although i have photos of item as it left supplier .
Will not be using nightfrieght again and advising others to avoid as well pity as are good for sending parcels and a great local driver

Shit service shit staff shit company

I ordered an item from the internet and was waiting for the item to arrive, I waited a week then contacted the sender and ask if he had sent the item out yet? he replied the item had been delivered and signed for on the 18th of Jan 2012 which was strange as I nor anyone else in the house had signed for anything or received anything. It transpired the delivery driver had delivered it to the wrong number house on the wrong Rd.
By the time my local depot had spoke to the driver to find out what had happened to the item he said he couldn't remember at first then remembered that he delivered it to the wrong address. He then went back to the delivery address to collect it, but was told by the person at the house that the item had been collected and sent back by parcel force. Bollocks... for 1 there was no return address on the actual item 2 parcel force would have charged a fee for this service and would have had a record of this which they didn't because I contacted them to find out. Also I cant see someone paying for an item to be returned that dose even not belong to them. The item has disappeared with out a trace, this was back on the 18th of Jan 2012 (I am £100 out of pocket )
Its now March 27th and still no joy from Night freight claims department.
I WAS TOLD BY CLAIMS i COULDN'T CLAIM AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE SENDER he has been trying ever since to no a vale What A f..KIN SHIT SERVICE AND A SHIT COMPANY THEY ARE.
If someone actually reads this, this is my Number 07900083246 please call as I would really like to speak to some about this disgraceful service. But I very much doubt my phone will ring.

Rude Delivery Staff

Got a delivery of a cot bed from nightfreight. I was phoned to go downstairs to sign for the delivery and carry the stuff by myself. I politely asked whether it was possible for him to deliver the package to my flat on the fourth floor with a lift, as this was supposed to be his job and I am about 9 months pregnant. He rejected and said he didn't bring things upstairs. He even said that it was not my baby!!!!

Excellent service and with a smile too!

I have just had a delivery via Night Freight and the driver couldn't have been more helpful. His job would have been made much easier if he had been given a van with a tail gate lift...but as it goes he had to shift all of our floor tiles, tile adhesive etc from one end of the van to the other and then helped us get it all inside. This order was incredibly heavy but he dealt with it like a trooper and with a smile on his face.

Excellent Service

I phoned Night freight last night & was answered immediately & the pleasant lady who took my call couldn't locate my item by the tracking number. However within 20 seconds of giving her my postcode & house number she was able to tell me that the parcel would be with me today & if I phoned at 8AM they would tell me what time of day to expect my parcel. So I phoned this morning & was told I would receive it by 12 noon & lo & behold it was with me at 10:15 AM. The driver waited the 2 minutes it took to open the parcel & check that the Halogen Heater wasn't damaged, which it wasn't. This is far superior to City links drivers who won't let you open the package before signing, cross out "item not inspected ,damaged' which you are instructed to write by the supplier in case of a claim being made & you haven't opened the package. Despite all of the poor reviews I have read I am exceptionally pleased with the service provided.

dont just blame nightfreight

The nightfreight driver will only deliver what has arrived at his depot to go on his round that day so if you have anything missing from your delivery 9 out of 10 times its the company you bought them off thats in the wrong also a lot of companies text or email to let you know you will be getting a phone call yet they dont provide a phone number to nightfreight so how can the driver phone you? Drivers arent insured to enter premises and its just a door to door service they offer...Most Nightfreight depots are open monday to friday 24hrs but only open saturday for saturday only premium deliveries so there are probably no office staff from around 12'ish (hence security guard may answer) They arent the biggest parcel company around but still handle thousands of consignments everyday so its likely there will be instances of damage and due to the economic climate more parcels have to go onto fewer vans due to cut backs so not all the drivers will want to wait while parcels are checked even though i think there is a 10min per deliver allowed as they are soo busy so sign your item as damaged unchecked if your not sure...majority of problems are caused by tyring to cut costs across the board for example not replacing staff sometimes when people leave to keep costs down which can impact on service from the warehouse staff and drivers through to the office staff

Possibly the worst service in my 42 years of existence

Nightfreight driver allegedly went to the address to collect my parcel but couldn't find it. He did not call either of the numbers given to find where in the street the address was, he just went home. After calling my local Egham depot, the Manchester depot, the Southampton depot (22 minutes of listening to marketing blurb but no-one ever picked up) and another number given by the local depot, no-one wants to take responsibility to rebook the parcel collection or sort my problem. "We don't have a central customer service number; each depot sorts its own problems." Complete waste of my money. Wrist-slittingly awful service. To rub salt into the wound, I can go onto google maps and find the address and furniture store on street view without problems. I'd steer clear of this firm and parcelmonkey that acted as the intermediary.

bollo**s to be frank!

I recently purchased a medium sized/one man to handle item and the retailer sent me email saying "your item has now been dispatched, your nightfreight tracking number is ..... please click here to view the tracking".

THEREIN LIES THE PROBLEM! The website looks fake, there is no access to "public users" to track an item, you have to sign up for a business account, wtf, it simply asked me for my postcode to locate my 'nearest depot'. I assumed I was to call and quote my tracking number so I rang the landline number which was displayed on the Saturday afternoon .Who picked up? A skanky sounding trampy doped up man he said he was a security guard ,and there was no one there. WTF is he doing answering customers calls? What sort of second rate shit are we talking here? If he wasn't there maybe his dog would answer it next?

It is day 3 since I got the email off the retailer so I am going to call them directly and ask the retailer where my fkn item is! Shambles!!

THE WORSE COURIER ON THE PLANET

A complete disaster what a useless company, I wouldn't trust them to pick up the rubish outside my house once a week!!!!!.
I've bought a shed on the 09/12/11 and was going to take a week to be delivered to my address, It was meant to be a xmas present.
I had the driver coming twice to deliver my shed with a missing floor, every time I had to send him back because I can't build a shed with no floor.
After that I had already lost 2 days work unpaid leave!!!
Third time I thought I was lucky the driver turned up at my door with a full shed just to find out the roof and the floor were damaged so this time I've kept the good bits and sent the damaged Roof&Floor this third attempt was on 21/12/11. So I was promised to get the Roof & Floor before xmas. I did get a delivery today 23/12/11 and guess what they only sent the Roof but no Floor. So in total 4 deliveries and still haven't got my complete shed that's meant to be as a xmas present!
What an absolute rubbish and incompetent company. I strongly advice private/small/big business companies to stay as far away as possible from NIGHTFREIGHT they are a JOKE.

No show courrier

Quite reassured to read these reviews and finding out I wasn't the only experiencing problem with this company.

Booked a day off to receive a parcel one week and a half in advance. They called on my mobile to confirm the date, and even asked if this is the number I should be contacted on. Not sure about the point of this, since they didn't show up and didn't called me.

After I complained to the merchant I ordered the items, they replied "It must have been a miscommunication"! Trying to book another delivery day, but not convinced they are going to show up at all...

worst courier company ever

this company is downright shit ... i ordered boxes from kite packaging before moving ... to arrive on saturday (which obviously cost me more). the boxes never arrived and i had to go to argos and buy boxes to prepare for my move. i really hope kite packaging stop using this rubbish excuse for a courier company.

Ultra fast delivery

I ordered a large carpet and underlay from Leeds on 5/01/12 and Nightfreight delivered it all to my home in South Wales by 11.30am the next day. Fabulous service.

SHOCKINGLY BAD COURIER SERVICE!!

I used this awful courier company the week leading upto Christmas to return a large box of handmade terracotta tiles back to a tile company. When the driver eventually arrived he had an extremely rude and unhelpful attitude towards me. I told him I wasn't used to using courier services and asked him for his reassurance that the parcel I was returning which contained over £100 worth of fragile tiles would be ok - to which he shrugged his shoulders. Raising my concern with his bad attitude and lack of confidence that the parcel would arrive safely I asked him if he could just wait a couple of minutes while I phoned the tile company to which he told me 'he didn't have the time'. He asked me to sign his paperwork which I grabbed out of his hand and he said to me 'theres no need to have that attitude'. Even though I told him the box contained over £100 worth of breakable tiles and to be careful he still threw the box onto his lorry and sped off. The box was delivered a couple of days later with all the tiles shattered!! I phoned Night Freight to make a complaint about the courier driver and spoke to the area manager (Steve Maunder), who after taking down my name, address and telephone number assured me he would look into my complaint and get back intouch with me. I have waited two weeks and have not had any reply from Night Feight who have not even acknowledged my complaint or given me an apology. Night Freight have told me they will not cover the cost of the broken tiles which cost me £110 :(( This has been an extremely bad experience and I will certainly not be using Night Freight again and would definitely not recommend to anyone wanting a courier service.

RUBBISH

I ordered a TV before Xmas and taking into account the time of year and delivery times. I have not yet received said TV. I have rung Nightfreight on several occasions and three different depots and they don't seem to know anything about it. What's worse is that the shop I bought the TV from tell me that although the tracking service says that Nightfreight has the TV - their computer says that they have not even bothered to pick the TV up yet.
Save yourselves a lot of grief and use another courier. This shower are

We are a sports equipment company 30 miles east of Glasgow. We have an urgent shipment for the South of England, Night Freight were arranged to pick up item today, for URGENT shipping I called the Cambuslang depot as my package was still here at 1pm. I was told not to worry and that the driver was contacted and he was in my area and it would be picked up within the hour, I called the depot again at 4pm and was told the driver "forgot" to pick up and as he was no no longer in the area he was not prepared to come back, BUT if I called again after 9am tomorrow they would try to advise when my shipment would be picked up. Absolute rubbish service in such a competitive market, I will never use them again, nor should any business who values their own customer service.

just had garden storage chest delivered...didnt even have to ask for it to be taken round back of house..driver sorted it even though pouring with rain and wasnt asked to do it. Friendly efficient service. Thank you..
