I have used Nochex since I first setup my business about 10 years ago. I have nothing but praise for the service that I have received throughout my time with Nochex. They even go out of their way to assist me before I have even requested it!
I have used PayPal as well but the service with Nochex is always better (and cheaper!) - with Nochex I have an account manager who I can call on the phone whenever I have an issue. It's great being able to speak to someone directly - I now use Nochex only.

Been using Nochex for a year now and I'm really pleased with their services! Not sure why the reviews on here are so mixed but I and several other people I know who also take business payments online all use Nochex and have had no complaints whatsoever. Easy to deal with, friendly, and helpful. I used to use PayPal but I've found Nochex to be much easier (and cheaper) to use. A great service and company.

Was use to receive funds for a laptop, 2 months ago, customer has the item, but I don't have my money. Is anyone up for a class action or something. this is extreamly unacceptable and illegal.
Will never EVER use these people again. [external reference removed] is much faster, easier and I've never had problems with them once in the 5 years I've used [external reference removed].

Signed up ith them from google checkout as the system seemed better all well during the sales pitch and during the set up although it was very slow. However after about two weeks with them and after they have £1800 of my money in there account they freeze the account and close it no warning no email nothing we found out from one of our customers who was trying to pay. Awful service now they have £1800 of our money and say we have to wait 180 days. dont use no point we signed up with intuit pay and were online and taking payments within the hour much better service and oh i forgot to say these guys dont pick up phones at nochex probably phone the nochex customer support line 100 times no answer ever

I bought a Wowcher for a satchel from a local company, which is subject of another review. I was told that I would have to pay £7.00 postage through Nochex. That was 2 months with the company I got the bag from not sending the goods out. I opened up a complaint by submitting a "ticket". Since then I have sent numerous replies to Nochex with their attitude being "we've spoken to the company and they promise to send the goods out within the next 5 days, please contact us after then". So I wait, and reply and they send out a similar message, so I wait, and reply, and they send out a similar message. For some reason they are refusing to repay this money. Wowcher refunded me after giving the company a chance, but Nochex just keep saying they will speak to the company. I will NEVER use Nochex again.
I HAVE USED THEM FOR ABOUT 18 MONTHS, IN THE BEGINNING THEY DID RETAIN £200, BUT AFTER ABOUT 3 MONTHS I ASKED IF THAT COULD BE REDUCED TO £100 & THEY DID WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS. THEY HAVE ALWAYS HELPED ME, THEY INSTALLED THEIR PAYMENT MODULE ONTO MY WEBSITE AS I DID NOT HAVE A CLUE! EACH TIME I HAVE WITHDRAWN FUNDS ITS IN MY ACCOUNT WITH 2-3 DAYS USUALLY 2 DAYS. I HAVE HAD NO END OF TROUBLE WITH PAYPAL, LIMITING MY ACCOUNT, FREEZING MONEY ECT 2 YEARS OF NONE STOP HASSLE!!! NOCHEX HAVE BEEN A BREATH OF FRESH AIR ;o)
I had been using NOCHEX in conjunction with a website I was running and although useful customers did not use it half as much as PAYPAL, however this is not the issue I have with NOCHEX. At all times I had to keep a minimum of £380 in the account to cover any potential chargeback.......no problem with that either.
However due to closing down this particular website I no longer needed the NOCHEX account but when I rang them to close it down I was told it would be 180 days to refund my money. I had to query this with the lady on the phone (who was very polite) but she confirmed that this was correct although she did say it could be a 'little' quicker.
Now bear in mind I have never had a charge back in the 2 years I had the account and I hadnt even put a transaction through in 3 months due to customers exclusively using other payment options. Seriously 180 days, that is a joke, I know interests rates are low but I would prefer the money in my account benefitting me not NOCHEX
I have been with this company for over four years and up until a week ago I was singing their praises, but suddenly they have a policy change and bam they are shutting my account, here's proof an email directly from them

However the change in policy does cover your business type and we have decided that we will no longer be providing services to businesses in this sector.
The change in policy and resulting closure of your account has been a decision made at the highest level and I’m afraid that it is not something that is open to discussion or interpretation.

Initially started using Nochex around 7 years ago and for most of this time, didn't have an issue.
My issue is now; when I want to leave them.
I haven't used my account for months so they closed it (without refunding the 'holding' £200). I have emailed via their support ticket site 3 times over 2 weeks with no reply.
One word for what they've done - THEFT!
I have been with Nochex now for about 4 months, and all i can say is they have been great.
I have a merchant account and yes it cost me £50, but some of the others charge a set up fee so this is no different.
All i can say is my experience is good, and my website has certainly benefitted from having it, it now accounts for 40% of all sales.

Website is full of comparisons between the free, entry level Seller account for lower value transactions and the Merchant Account with a £50 setup fee. Nochex say they "would like to offer our Seller Account services to as many types of business as possible."
However it isn't until you have selected Seller Account and told it what your company type is that there is any mention of if currently being unavailable and that Nochex "apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to offer you a superior Merchant account".
Asked them whether Seller is coming back to be basically told "Oh, it will be back sometime, I don't know when, but have you considered our Merchant account?"
Yes, I have considered it - when I am good and ready to pay £50 to set up. In the meantime, I want the free Seller account that is described in great detail on the website and don't appreciate what feels like quite a hard sell on the Merchant account. If you can't offer Seller accounts, take them off the site or make it clear from the off they are not available now.
They have been warned and I have given a full and frank statement to the police about these international villians,,,they are part of the whole scam with suppliers..refusing to isssue credits on faulty goods..

This company does not follow the Visa refund regulations. It continues to trade on behalf of criminal organisations, even after being aware of such dealings. It refused to correspond & resolve issues, regarding poor service. This company needs to be closed down & the directors Jailed.
It supports criminal activity.
Ive never had any problems with nochex when it comes to payments but It rediculous there is no conact numbers and no way cos closing your account with them, there is no information in their help section on how to close it either. Im have very unimpressed by this and i am glad to be closing me account. If something was to go wrong with payments then I would hate to have to deal with them through "support tickets". As well as this there is also no option to remove credit card details should you wish to! I have also heard MANY accounts of un-notified closures although i have yet to experience this I wouldn't be suprised if it happened.
My advise... avoid a company that is unwilling to provide telephone contact. Especially one that deals with you finances!
