I feel I need to address the balance here. I have been using Numbergoup since early 2011. I have never experienced a breakdown in service and the times times that I have wanted to contact them they have always answered the phone or responded to an email. I allocate numbers on a regular basis for various advertisements and have never experienced any issues. The level of call detail for (now) £10 is still good value for money. I can have any number, missed call or voicemail forwarded anywhere that I choose. Numberstore (who I also use) is more expensive and without half of the features unless you spend 3 times as much. I would and often do recommend them.
Do not use this Numbergroup bunch of cheats. Seriously!
My experience? I bought premium 0844 memorable no.s off them worth £500 each. The ongoing pointing service (to your landline/mobile etc) was free. Then they entirely move the goalposts to a paying sevice and started billing monthly. I contested it , I repeatedly requested my original terms of service (t&c's) from them and they basically don't send, dart around the issue, and then disconnect my numbers!
Now they have given or probably sold on numbers that I bought outright to another customer who won't de-allocate them.
All this whilst being particularly rude and disrespectful.
Amongst the rude staff - He who shall not be named ;) was a particular pleasure to talk to and basically treated me like a freeloader as he was convinced I hadn't paid for my numbers - I did! and I told him but he didn't believe me until I sent him the order details.
What a joke, cost me a fortune in reproducing business cards, marketing material, changing websites etc..
I had a third party co. trying to port the numbers from them which just went round in loops for months or what felt like years and on two attempts to port and in the end, the numbers can't be ported because they haven't the proper agreements setup.
Can't believe someone else is using my numbers I bought, it's an outrage I tell ya!
We came across NumberGroup about 3-4 months ago now when looking for a VOIP orientated telecoms company to provide in & outbound SIP trunking services along with various direct-dial numbers for our office telecoms.
Out of all the companies we looked at, NumberGroup seemed to offer exceptional value for money with an honest approach to pricing core technologies such as SIP trunks. They charge for service provision & calls, but don't charge stupid amounts of cash (like so many other VOIP telecoms companies) for SIP trunking or the ability to handle more than one call concurrently. In addition they also provide a range of PBX style services - hunt groups, call forwarding, voicemail, fax-to-email etc. but aside from fax-to-email we provide these ourselves with an on-site Asterisk system.
We ran a free trial for a week or so and decided to pilot NG along with a new in-house SIP system as a replacement for an ageing PSTN based PBX.
Had a couple of teething problems in terms of getting the right configuration on Asterisk to optimise inbound routing & trunks (entirely our fault!), and a brief over capacity issue while waiting for BT to activate a load of additional circuits for them; but otherwise the service has been of a consistently high quality & problem free.
We now run all our office telecoms through NG, using SIP trunks to receive inbound calls from a collection of DDI numbers (regional 01xxx & an 0800) & rely on their great value outbound call service to handle all outbound traffic.
It... Just... Works.... :-)
In summary, NG are a great company - exceptional prices, reliable service and a helpful team. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a teleco to support inbound DDIs or good value calls through SIP trunking. Probably helps if you know your way around your telecoms system, but it's not difficult to get up and running.
I'd not seen the other reviews posted here before signing up, and in retrospect don't think they'd have made any difference to our decision. Treat NG professionally, and you can expect professional treatment in return.
For the sake of clarity, I have no connection with NG except for being a satisfied customer.
My purchase has also been verified by TrustPilot.
I find it amusing people rush to declare this as a fake review. It isn't.
TrustPilot have received & checked copies of some of our recent invoices from Numbergroup and I'd invite anyone who still wishes to challenge the authenticity to contact either me, or Numbergroup to check for themselves.
Like many companies, NG have their share of happy & unhappy customers. We can't fault their service - it has been nothing but first class so far.
Another day, another "report this review".
Unfortunately guys, this is a genuine view of Numbergroup.
Feel free to report it if you really, really must; it's been reviewed by Trustpilot and they've verified our purchase so you're just creating work for their support team.
Sorry if you've not had a good experience with them - we have. That doesn't make this an inappropriate, inaccurate or fake review; just one that's perhaps different to yours.
No issues to report - good, continuing service from Numbergroup. We're in the process of porting some of our older PSTN numbers onto NG's network at the moment, and I'm continuing to recommend them to other local businesses.
Bizarrely one of the individuals who posted a negative review below now seems to have convinced himself that I'm associated with Numbergroup. Not the case whatsoever, and as verified by Trustpilot we're simply a happy customer. Highly comical.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE IN THE END DUE TO THEIR HARASSMENT
I'm a veteran company director and a lawyer. Bizarrely, the technology behind their offering is exceptional, in fact I don't think I've found a cheaper VOIP product on the market. It's extremely rare for such a small company to be able to have the cost-leadership to offer the prices which it does offer. The web management portal isn't perfect, but it is robust. The fact that numbers can be provisioned almost for free in a fraction of a second, and the extremely low calling tariffs make it an ideal VOIP offering.
However, the praise ends there. I actually told NumberGroup in an email (which I can post to any person on their request), where I had to tell them how to run their own business. Several weeks later, voila, they changed their entire product structure just because I told them it was a good idea. What I said to them, was that they aren't making any money, and so they should change their tariff so their company could keep running. This was in response to [name removed] (one of the people who is providing praise below), telling me the company was in financial difficulty and this was the reason why T & Cs were changing every other week.
The actual customer service from this company makes it untenable. I asked why my bills were being doubled for no good explanation, and [name removed] (again, the person providing feedback for her own company below), was extremely aggressive and dispassionate in response. If ever I have expressed concern about the tone towards me, I've been told to cancel my account and transfer my services elsewhere. As a matter of fact [name removed], I will be doing shortly.
With worst compliments.
I have had an ongoing battle with Numbergroup also known as numbergroup.com the company details are Numbergroup Billing Services Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 7390302
Suite 12 | 32-33 Foregate Street | Worcester | WR1 1EE.
The company keeps changing their company address due to small claims hearings to stop CCJ's being lodged against their company address and has changed 3 times within 6 months. Checkout the particulars on company house for free.
The manager and man behind the operation is [Name] who is a banned telecoms provider and hence why he stays off the directorship of companies now and pays shares out to his relation [Name]. He is banned due to fax scams where the callers would be charged 50ppm to reply to faxes and he would slow down the receiving speed.
I was reselling the services that numbergroup provided but once they increased the prices from £0 per month to £10.00 per month my business couldn't continue. I then started to withdraw all the revenue that numbergroup held from the call rates to the 0845/0871 etc numbers i had with them and they decided to cancel my account and leave me with several unhappy customers as [Name] disconnected the phone numbers with instant affect. After several letters and emails to the company addresses and directors i got no where.
Numbergroup then paid for the director addresses to be removed from websites such as check director and check company.
Several of my customers had stationary with their company telephone numbers on that where now useless because the numbers had been disconnected and numbergroup would not give them access to the telephone number.
Numbergroup filed a defense against my small claim which i responded stating i gave the company all the details they asked for and that i did not break the t and c's like they had accused me off. Numbergroup was requesting a list of how my services where being used which i provided but they still continued to not pay me. The CCJ was awarded to me because numbergroup did not attend but due to the company using virtual addresses i had the company account frozen and the money removed from there account.
Keep away from them at all costs try [Link] unlimited call forwarding for a fixed fee:)
I have to admit, the service itself is really good. On the technical side of things, I have absolutely no complaints.
However, these people do not know how to deal with customers.
When I asked them about the aggressive pricing model I was told " For 33p a day it's a no brainier to me, if you wanted a less reliable and inferior service with no support move to Skype. " (by the way Skype offers a very reliable service)
Now, that's not the way to speak to customers or people to general.
All I wanted was a clear explanation, since they hardly gave any clear notice about what they intended to do.
P.S. Before I signed up I read reviews about staff at this company being rude. I asked them and they said it was just the competition trying to make them look bad. Well, I'm disappointed to find out that the reviews were right.
I joined number group as a free phone service. Early in 2012 this become a paid service although still cheap. In May 2012 its prices have risen again and it's now about the same price as a proper BT line.
When the service was free the call quality had been choppy but being free that's fine but as a paid service the call quality has not improved and on occasion has been so poor the call has needed to be terminated. On many occasions I cannot get to my account with them, especially when bills are due strangely.
The biggest issue though is the aggressive billing. When the billing started I got a bill via email and the phone line was disabled until I paid the bill, so I lost all service for the duration and it wasn't fast getting the service back again. Now I get a bill threatening to close the account if I don't pay within 10 days, it's not that I can't pay it but the aggressive billing turns me off and seeing other reviews about billing I can see they are just money grabbing and quick to get courts involved.
I signed up for a free service and now I'm looking at £120.00 annually to keep the number. Even though I have 1000 biz cards with the number printed on them I'm closing the account today. I'll let you know if I have any trouble.
NumberGroup's T&Cs say that "at least thirty (30) days notice will be given prior to suspension for non-payment" but in my case they cut off my business lines on February 14th after one (1) days notice for a bill that had been due for payment (they allege) within 10 days of February 1st (previous invoices had allowed 30 days to pay). Does that look like 30 days notice prior to suspension to anyone?
The functionality of the web site is good, but the customer service (and the abilty to add up!) are from the dark ages.
I've received a legal claim form from Birmingham County Court, trying to charge me £259 for a £14.05 amount. Despite no mentions in their terms and conditions that they will pursue unpaid bills this way.
The company made no effort to write to me, or call me, instead charging £210 for solicitors costs (despite I doubt using a solicitor to prepare the form).
I tried to get hold of them on the phone (they are a phone company after all) and got through to their shared office reception, who couldn't put me through to anyone on three consecutive days. They don't return my emails either.
Anyway, it's easier to state my peace on here. I look forward to hearing from you. Perhaps in writing?
