Fantastic service
I was delighted with the service that I received. The stock information on the website was up to date and accurate. I was advised that my order would arrive within two weeks, then to my surprise, I got a call a couple of days later to let me know it would arrive within a week!

A straight bat
After extensive research and having, forgive the pun, discounted the faux discounters, I chose Oakea in the belief that their products were honestly priced and would be delivered within the agreed two week period. My four pieces of furniture duly arrived on time, and were securely wrapped against damage. Courteous service throughout; though sadly they spotted that I had given an incorrect credit card number. The furniture met with my expectations, and more importantly enjoyed the seal of approval from the lady of the house. A fifth item of furniture was ordered the following week, and again arrived within the agreed two week time frame.

I was a bit worried about ordering furniture online and actually spoke to a person on the telephone to order after viewing online. As the furniture was been delivered to a different address, again I was a bit anxtious about this but it was delivered when they said it would be, the furniture looks great and I am very pleased with the whole service and product.

I give oakea 5 stars, excellent.
I purchased a dresser hutch for my kitchen wall to go above a dresser base that I have. The service I received when ordering I cannot fault. I explained that I would need to be notified prior to delivery, on the day of delivery as the house was empty due to a flood and they kept their promise. As for the furniture, I was extremely pleased with the quality and it makes my kitchen look like a million dollars. The furniture is very well made, solid and looks very expensive, very good for the money. I would most definately recommend this company and I would definately use them again, something this good is worth knowing.

Misdescribed Furniture
Glowingly described its furniture as 'Solid Oak' when parts of it are veneer covered chipboard/paperboard. Correspondence was exchanged in which Oakea's MD (Henrik Pontoppidan) made reference to my 'negative perception' of the bookcase in question (I should say so) as he tried, without success, to justify the use of chipboard in this way. On 11 August it was seen that significant corrections were underway on Oakea's website (no doubt after seeking legal advice) to qualify the use of the term 'solid oak'. This post should at least ensure that future customers are not taken in as we were, when we thought were were buying a solid oak product. I would add that there 'wood' have been no problem for me if Oakea of Hereford had mentioned the use of chipboard in their advertising as I 'wood' simply have gone elsewhere for to buy a real oak one.

We are grateful for any feedback, and we continually respond to it to improve our service. We are also pleased that this discussion is taking place in public - it is an important one! We have tried to explain to Mr. Hanks that it is not desirable to use solid wood panels for shelves as all or some if them will end up being slightly warped - that's the nature of wood. We could easily specify the shelves to be solid and we have made this mistake in the past with resulting warped shelves as a result. We now only use veneered fibre board for the type of components for which Solid Wood would inevitably create problems = worsen the quality. We have offered to Mr. Hanks that he can have a full refund, and uploaded a thorough explanation of the principle behind our selction of materials, which is a direct result of Mr. Hanks complaint, as an acknowledgement of the description issue. Our advice to anyone looking for a solid wood bookcase will always be, regardless of where you buy it: In Bookcases with adjustable/loose shelves Try and avoid Solid Wooden Shelves, if they are made of a wooden panel - they are likely to warp.

Beautiful furniture and an excellent service
I have ordered bedroom furniture from Oakea previously so was aware of the quality. I recently made quite a large order of oak dining furniture which I was delighted with, the company called me to talk about the delivery to ensure their vehicle would be able to negotiate our narrow lane. I have alway found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the furniture is well made, solid and beautiful. There was very little time between placing and receiving the order.

Exactly what I wanted, exactly as advertised.
Their website was easy to use, and well illustrated. I also spoke directly to a member of staff after an automatic response re a possible problem. He was very knowledgeable about the stock and availabilirty, anf I received the product - a TV - unit in less time than I expected -brilliant!
The unit is superb - better than anything had seen "live" at a much greater cost.

Great product, great company!
Having already purchased two oak lamp tables, I have now added a matching coffee table. Really fantastic items, ready assembled (bonus!) nice and weighty and very well made. The company offers great communication throughout the whole process, apologising profusely when their van broke down, but delivery was promptly reorganised for the next morning. I would have no hesitation in buying from them again and recommend them highly.
