I started using Ocado about 8 months ago when surgery meant I couldn't get to the shops. Now that I can, I still shop with Ocado.
Easy to use website, polite, punctual drivers and great selection of produce. Substitutions are rare, but they are always logical (unlike some online food retailers). I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Placed my first order after receiving a 20% voucher in my Inbox a while after signing up. Delivery drivers are prompt and very friendly. Ocado own brand products are good quality and not overpriced. Will most definitely be ordering again.
I always get great service from Ocado from ordering on the website, to the delivery and refunds if anything doesn't get delivered. The food quality is always great and the best before dates aren't that day or the next day unlike some other companies.
After trying all of the other online supermarket offerings in this area, we now shop regularly with Ocado. They turn up on time, they even turn up earlier than the alotted slot, but always call first to check it's OK. 99% of the time everything has been in stock, Any substitutions are as close as they can make it. The drivers are pleasant and helpful. The website works, and the quality of fresh produce is good as well. Compare that to Tesco's last attempt to sell to us when they turned up 3 hrs late, some stuff missing and with 4 different excuses. I'll use Ocado before any of the rest
Ocado deliveries are rarely late BUT I have had several that were badly packed with leaking cleaning products and broken glass bottles, exploding yoghurts... Refunds processed quickly though but that is besides the point if I had been out to the shops I would have packed carefully.
We used to shop with Tesco's but switched to Ocado last Christmas. They are excellent, always arrive as stated and let you know if something isn't available. Once or twice an item on the list has been missing from the delivery and we only found out after the driver had gone. Ocado just refunded the money with no fuss or quibbling - how refreshing!
always arrives on time with a text to say who will be delivering, in what van and when. Rarely have items missing or not available, usually everything I ordered is delivered . Always pleasant drivers. Love that I can book the same time and day long term .
I can't remember Ocado failing to delivery more than 1 order in 3 years (and that was due to snow!). We now use them bi-weekly (big family!), and we only have 1-2 missing or swapped items a month. Its very rare anything is damaged.
2 weeks ago the driver even drove back 50 miles to drop off an order which we had forgotten was coming and had gone out.
Food quality is very good - but it's waitrose, so that's no surprise.
Price - well, not the cheapest, but frankly I'll accept a small premium for high quality service and never having to go near a Tescos or Asda 'shed' again.
I used to do an online Ocado shop every week and found the quality of the meat etc better than any other supermarket but found Ocado to be very expensive compared to Tesco where you get more for your money. we still use Ocado when we want a treat
Very glad I've switched to Ocado. The deliveries are always on time and very rarely have anything substituted. The ordering of the receipt by use by date is a brilliant feature that helps me plan the families meals for the week. Drivers are always lovely and really helpful.
There are a few companies who are at the top of their game, to whom no other comes close. Ocado is one of those companies.
1 hour delivery slots. Up to date stock information, so consequently you hardly ever get substitutions. Text messages telling you the name of the person delivering and van reg. Putting Winter tyres on their fleet of vans during the cold snap - safety of workers, service to customers both being considered here.
But let's roll it back here; the reason for me that ocado is such a triumph is the ability to order on the iphone and ipad! I know tesco have started doing this too, but they really don't compare to ocado's simple, uncluttered and easy to use interface.
I haven't even mentioned the quality of the produce yet, which is superb, and on ordering, ocado will give you a guaranteed minimum shelf life on the products, so you won't find yourself forced to eat up that beef on the day of delivery.
In short, ocado is one of those companies that simply 'gets it' when it comes to quality and service.
Really really pleased with Ocado. Far fewer substitutions than anyone else we've tried and the substitutions are almost always well selected. The communication around ordering and deliveries is great... you can get text messages or emails to remind you when the deadline to amend an order is and then when your delivery is due and if there are any missing/swapped items so you have a fighting chance to pick them up elsewhere if you really need to.
Hugely love the features on the web site of "have you run out of...?" if you often order something and then don't in a shop or two; "offers you may have missed" if you've ordered say one item in a "buy one get $something free" type offer or if there's a bundle of things (which can often give you ideas on something new to try or a specific meal you'd not considered; and then there's the new feature of suggesting a cheaper way to get items you've got in your basket e.g. swapping 3x 200g pots of houmous for 2x 300g ones or choosing a different brand.
The only thing I'd like to suggest Ocado do, which is actually very very difficult, would be to say where fresh fruit and vegetable items are sourced from for a given week/month. Just by country would be a nice start. And/or have a category in the shop for "UK produce in season" to select items from.
So close but yet so far. So many things about Ocado are good, mainly the fact that the products are from Waitrose, delivery is good, etc etc. BUT it is impossible to get so many of the things I want there Ive given up. Waitrose have an amazing range but these guys deliver less than half of it. I see Waitrose listed with Ocado, Tesco etc, off to check if they do deliveries...
Ocado is brilliant! I've been a customer for a few years now and every now and then I go and try another supermarket but always come back to Ocado.
They are reliable, you get very few subsititutions due to their unique warehouse picking system, brand prices are matched against Tesco and you can usually order for next day delivery.
Ocado Delvery Pass is a system where you pay an annual fee for as many deliveries as you like during the year - which means it works out cheaper to get my shopping delivered than to drive to the supermarket.
When you order online, it tells you if your item is in stock so you know exactly what you will get! The delivery people are so polite and carry the shopping into the kitchen for you. And their bags don't split and rip like the others. You also get 15% offers quite frequently which is a great help.
I've used Ocado over the past 5 years and there is no competition with any of the other retailers. Really good communication, great customer service and the drivers have a great attitude.
Once when times were tight I ordered from Asda. The driver couldn't find me (I live on a main road) so he called and told me he was parked down the street about half a mile away and that I had to come and collect the goods myself!
Needless to say, my financial situation improved and I never ordered from anyone else again!
They offer the best delivery slots and an excellent annual fee scheme too. However with a little one we find shopping for the basics, even own brand, can rack up the bill - typical example is packaged cooked ham is £3.
The drivers are very helpful, polite and usually call if they expect to be early - always handy as our deliveries can be for 8am Saturdays.
I've been using various supermarket delivery services for some years now and have recently switched to Ocado. I've been surprised by the good service, great range of products and the quality of their fresh goodswhich come with a good minimum product life. Their drivers are friendly and helpful too. I'll be staying with Ocado - sorry Tesco!
Easy site to use, great products and delivered on time, in short delivery windows (so you don't have to stay in all day).
Love the fact they colour code their bag so you know which food is frozen, chilled or room temperature and that they will carry it right to the kitchen for you, rather than just leaving it at the front door. Delivery men have always been friendly too
Everything about the experience is well done. The website is easy to navigate and Does a very good job of both remembering favourites and recommending new items. They have made apps for different mobile platforms.
The drivers are on time and courteous. There have been a couple of damaged items but refunds are processed on the website and are done promptly.
These guys have saved us days waiting in line in the supermarket, we use them every week and will continue to use them as long as they keep delivering!
I am normally a tesco shopper but decided to give ocado a try as i got a special offer through the post. Generally i think the prices are a bit dearer and the choice not so good but the quality is top notch.
The reason i am not giving 5 stars is that a couple of times i've had packing problems (packing a big bottle of water and a loaf of bread in the same bag) but they were very quick to respond with a refund.
As with other reviews I have tried all the other big guns in the home delivery sevice and this one far surpasses the others. The website is very easy to use I have only had one mistake made with what is now a multitude of deliveries and it was put right straight away. If you want well sourced groceries at a fair price delivered properly and on time you just cant go wrong.
Ocado are certainly the best online supermarket I have ever used - very rarely do they substitute items (and when they do, you get plenty of notice) and their delivery timeslots are the most flexible of any company I have ever bought from. Their delivery drivers are friendly and their customer service is very helpful.
The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that they are more expensive than their competitors, though this is usually countered by a better quality of product.
