Good service, good products. I had a problem using a free-delivery code online which was sorted out immediately and pleasantly by the customer service team, promt delivery and I love the lamps I bought.
I read other comments with interest as clearly although I would buy again as I like their designs etc they are clearly not addressing their problems. I too am awaiting a product, it may be with me two months after placing the order. I was not advised this product was out of stock, they took the money, they stillhave it. I had to contact them to find out what the situation was. A nest of tables were faulty and a side table was damaged and like another commentator I gave up in the end even though the replacement was a different colour than it's mate. Does anybody from OKA read these comments and act, I wonder, we will see.
I bought a table lamp with a wooden base (Finnial lamp). The design is beautiful but within 6 months the wood started to split and crack very badly. I was sent a replacement but this one also split and cracked - this time within days of arrival. It appeared that so-called greenwood had been used, coming from a tropical climate, which had not been matured prior to it being processed as a lamp base. Once it got into our centrally heated house, it started to dry out and the cracks appeared. At £250 I felt it was hugely overpriced. The quality was poor and no quality check had been carried out. Furthermore I was not impressed by OKA's customer service. On both occasions I sent emails to their customer service team with photographs of the damaged item. Each time I heard not back within 24 hours and had to call them. Only when I called them, did they open my emails and attend the issue. On the second occasion I was told that they never had this problem before and I was the only one complaining, making me feel as if I caused the damage myself deliberately. I believe OKA purchase their goods in the Far East at rock bottom price and sell them here for a considerable profit. The products are marketed as upmarket designer products but the quality speaks otherwise. Sorry, can’t recommend.
Ordered two bedside table which looked lovely. They cost £400 and came assembled but both have paint chipped off and splits in the wood. I thought for the price that the quality should have been much better. This doesn't seem to be a one off occurance from reading other reviews so perhaps quality control needs to be looked at.
The customer service is always good and the design of the products on offer is great but all too often the quality doesn't quite match the price tag. Also, goods tend to arrive damaged, not sure if this is down to the quality or a bad courier.
I wanted to order two items from the sale catalogue, but they were showing out of stock on-line, so I rang my local shop (Saffron Walden) and, as always, they were absolutely brilliant and found what I wanted. The items were delivered today, and are gorgeous.
I am a regular visitor to the SW shop and always find it a lovely experience - the shop looks beautiful and the staff are always incredibly helpful. Can't fault them.
I tried to order something online from a sale catalogue but it didn't appear on the website so I had to ring up to order it. There was some confusion as to what it was I wanted to order even though I was quoting their code and description from their catalogue. When it arrived it still wasn't quite what I had ordered but I can't be bothered to query it or send it back.
A chair to match one that we already have was ordered and a delivery time scheduled. Delivery van arrived at the correct time but on opening the packaging it was clear that the wrong chair had been delivered. Phoned OKA immediately and received an apology together with a promise that a replacement would be sent the following week. Phone call subsequently received advised that this is not going to happen and will now have to wait several weeks before (hopefully) the correct chair is delivered.
Ordered 2 side tables, the website did not apply the discount so I had to phone to get that sorted which was done promptly. Tables arrived 5 working days later and one had no internal packing so the table was damaged. Called to get it picked up. Was promised a call back to say when which never came. Called the next day and the very helpful Julie arranged with the carrier that it would be picked up in the afternoon. However no replacement is sent until OKA review the paperwork even though the table is now in transit when do I get my new table? who knows - they did manage to arrange to deliver it to a shop which I will pick up. This is very hard work for the customer!
I have received my Rosseya folding coffee tables, delivered quickly in good condition. The only colour available at present is the grey one. In the past red was available and this would have been my colour of choice. As you seem to have a monopoly on good folding tables it would make sense to have more than one colour in the range.
I've ordered a lot of furniture and accessories from OKA. There is sometimes the occasional blip (ie. creased velvet on a cushion, had to be returned) but overall quality seems good.
The staff in the Chelsea store are excellent and helpful, particularly the manager who I dealt with recently.
My latest purchase arrived this morning - a sofa - delivered by Brett & Kevin from your team and they were excellent. It's a tricky house to access with large pieces of furniture and they went above & beyond and were charming throughout. Great ambassadors for the brand - please pass on my thanks to them.
I sometimes find it frustrating that every item i am interested in always seems to be out of stock!
Excellent product very pleased with the quality. Very well packaged so no chance of damage in transit. The only downside is that I emailed about adding something and they didn't relpy at all but I would defnitely buy OKA again.
