I ordered a copy of Photoshop CS5 from this shoddy company. The money was taken from my account and I received the usual emails saying that my order was being processed and my item was being prepared for dispatch. The webpage for the item in question shows that there is plenty in stock (180 odd).
I didn't hear anything for a couple of days which I thought was odd. I politely enquired as to whether or not I would receive an update when it would be dispatched as the email from a couple of days previously stated that it was "picked and ready to be dispatched".
After enquiring, I quickly received an email saying that my refund had been processed for this item. My bank statement corresponds with, but there was no explanation whatsoever as to why they couldn't dispatch my order. Despite emailing twice, they haven't replied. Slightly suspicious seeing as their "average response time" is just over 1 hour", a figure which implies that it is updated daily.
Their "available stock" system is a lie as well. For the item I ordered it fluctuates between something like "130" some days and on other days it is "180".
Okobe are a joke. Their customer care is crap. Avoid like the plague. If something is too good to be true, it usually is!
I ordered two hard-drives that were different, and they both arrived the very next day from different couriers. They were both the best price I could find on the Internet, and I will definitely use this company again. (If my wife lets me)
I ordered a replacement HDD for my daughters laptop, which broke on Christmas Eve. It took a few days for the order to process, as expected at this time of year, but when I received the shipping notification, the drive arrived the next day in perfect working order. The best bit was that the product was the cheapest I could find on the web.
Correct Product ordered, invoiced and on delivery note - wrong product in the box. How basic an error can you get? Warehouse monkeys, no apparently the different product code was the manufacturers fault. The fact that the packer couldn't check that the product code was the same on the packing note to that on the item couldn't possibly have been the answer, could it?
Five weeks from order to refund, if you buy from these people you better pray that nothing goes wrong, THE worst customer service I have ever come across.
I will never think of buying from these people again.
I wanted a 1Tb hard drive to upgrade the storage of my Humax Foxsat HDR recorder. I decided on a Seagate Pipeline HD ST1000VM002 - 1 TB - SATA-600 and a quick search of the net showed the best price (inc carriage) offered was from Okobe. Ordering on line was simple though I'd like the option to buy without having to create an account. Standard tracked delivery was 2-4 days, and the hard disk drive arrived extremly well protected in 3. Couldn't ask for a better service, regardless of price.
Congratulations on your customer service, keep it up!
Ordered a hard drive with express delivery. It came within 2 days. It was very well packaged and bought at a good price. Bought the same drive from another company as I needed 2 for my NAS. The other company took a week to arrive in just a jiffy bag. The drive didn't work which was probably down to the packaging. I asked for a refund from them and instead ordered another from Okobe. Again it came within 2 days and the drive was transported very well so worked fine. Would definitely use this company again.
I payed around £1 more than the cheapest company out there, but was more than happy to because of the positive reviews Okobe had received.
After ordering I got the usual confirmation emails, and even a notification that the parcel was awaiting shipping. After about 3 days of being lost in this limbo state I received the shipping confirmation email, and the item ordered was in my hands within a matter of hours afterwards. What particularly impressed me was my item was bumped up to a faster delivery, free of charge, and without me asking. Someone at Okobe noticed it had got snarled up in the system and did something about it to try negate my delay - if only more companies were this proactive.
I ordered my printer, it arrived within the week following communications telling me it was ready for despatch then dispatched. I'm very impressed and as a growing business, i would definitely use try them first before looking at any other supplier. Buy with confidence!
I hate using companies I have not heard anything about before and when Google shopping had these guys come up at the cheapest price I was hesitant to use them, but i did some googling and they seemed to have some pretty good reviews and the website despite it's quirky and colourful nature is nicely put together and professional (which gives a nice first impression) so I gave them a shot. All worked out perfectly for me Cheaper than places like Ebuyer product arrived sooner then it would have using Ebuyers free method also. Not sure about customer service from these guys didn't have an issue so had no need to contact them. Would certainly use them again.
What more can i say. I bought a SATA hard drive. They were the best priced (in some cases 20%+ cheaper than other more well known retailers). Using the website was striaghtforward and delivery was fast. I had the package in a few days. Two thumbs up!
I was extremely pleased with the efficient delivery of a rear case for my iPad Mini. This company was just about the only place I could find a rear case which would still support the official smart cover.
Okobe's high review ratings here and elsewhere actually hide the true picture. The reviews are strenuously misleading and an ostensible smoke screen. They are based on customers who: do not have a problem, do not need to return an item, do not even need to contact the company in any way for any reason. If you don't fall into that category, you're in for the worse ride of you customer service life.
I ordered from okobe, and within hours trouble had started. No dispatch email was sent out, nor was the tracking information. Only by chance was I in when the courier arrived. Having realised I needed to upgrade my order I set about contacting the firm. Easy I thought. Wrong. I phone FIVE times, waiting on hold for over 20min on a premium rate number, but only got to speak to a person on a single occasion and very briefly.
It has been said on here that okobe use a call centre for customer services. I whole heartedly disagree. Its not a call centre - it's a 'call person' - a single person in a call centre, possibly called Jacob. They are nothing more than a conduit who could take details - they can't actually do anything useful themselves, because its always the Returns team, the Sale teams, the this team, the that team, that is needed. They couldn't put me through to ANY one else at all in the company, or even leave me on hold, but just take a number to be called back. Not on your life are you getting my number so you can spam to it.
I instead tried email. Big mistake, as this is also undoubtedly run by the same call centre that operates after work hours. Email sent Monday morning - a one line reply received nearly 12 hours later. Replied, and got a second email again 24 hrs later. Replied once more, and waited another 24 hrs to actually find out if I could upgrade my item. At this time I mentioned I had connected the first order up, and wondered if they'd still take it back for upgrade. No answer. Email them again, and finally receive an reply - but no answer to my question regarding upgrading - it had been sidestepped completely. Three days later I finally get a reply- that's EIGHT DAYS after the original query was put to them! In the end returning the item represented the prospect of yet more hassle, so I will sell it online and just suffer the loss.
All in all, appalling non existent customer service that makes WAE+ look good. I naively relied on the firm's good online reviews and was mistaken about their credibility, which is based purely on those who have not had a need to contact them or query any aspect of their order - which is not reality. Won't use them again no matter how cheap their products are.
BOTTOM LINE - AVOID this company if there's even the slightest chance you will need to contact them, change, or return an order. In simple terms - you will get no satisfaction whatsoever.
No problems here - goods well packaged, arrived within 48 hours of ordering. Straightforward ordering process & helpful telephone support.
I have just bought an Epson Perfection V370 photo scanner after researching prices on the internet. The scanner arrived earlier than the estimated date in perfect condition. I would certainly conbsider them again when ordering electronic equipmenthave and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.
I just bought the Western Digital 'My Essential Book' external drive from Okobe and it was the best price anywhere and they even do express delivery for less than some companies charge for 'normal' speed - it arrived super quick and well packaged and I am super chuffed!! I suspect they'll be a great place to look for anything first!
Ordered a new SATA II 750GB Seagate HDD for my laptop to install an additional OS on. Arrived nice and quickly and was the cheapest online for a branded product. Only thing that was a shame was there were no M3 x 3mm screws to secure the HDD in the caddy, but I had some laying around. (They are really cheap and you can get them anywhere, so don't let this put you off getting a HDD. Okobe.co.uk can probably supply them as well if you ring them!)
Will shop with again for any parts that I need.
With Christmas weeks away, I was searching for a cheap laptop for my son. I stumbled upon this company Okobe when doing a search on Google.
To begin with I was not sure because I had never heard of them but having done some research their reviews in the most part were excellent so I sent them a quick email last Monday to check they had the laptop in stock and that it had a full warranty. I received an email shortly after confirming that they were an Acer Gold partner (wasn't sure what this meant at the time) and that all the laptops they sold had a full warranty. I contacted Acer directly and they confirmed that Okobe was an official retailer in this country for Acer & all the Acer laptops arrived with a full Acer warranty. This was enough of a confirmation for me so I went back to the Okobe website to proceed with the purchase.
I must say that their website is good, colourful and easy to navigate but a bit slow at times. It was easy to locate the product on the website & then add it to the basket. I did not create an account so I went through the checkout process really quickly because I did not have to sign in. The delivery methods on offer were standard delivery & express delivery. I would say that I think Okobe should offer a free delivery service but on the other hand the price of the laptop was very cheap. Completing the purchase was simply and about one minute after I completed the purchased I received an email to confirm my order number - which was reassuring!
I selected express delivery so 24 hours after I placed the order I received an email to confirm my package was being prepared and a couple of hours later I received another email to confirm the laptop had been sent to me via DPD (a delivery company I had never heard of!) I wasn't sure what to expect from DPD but I must say that they were very good. I checked their website in the morning and they even give you a delivery time on the day of delivery which is more that I can say for Parcel Force of the terrible City Link. DPD did as they promised and delivered the laptop within the time window they stated on their website so I was well impressed.
All in all I cannot fault the experience at all. After a hesitant start the checkout process was quick and I received my laptop within 48 hours of placing the order. Cannot complain about this sort of service so I will be using them again. Christmas is not too far away so I have plenty more presents to search for. Great for some but not for my bank balance!
COMPLAINT TO OKOBE
I ordered a Pixma Pro-1 on the 21st October. The printer was delivered late and damaged in transit. It took weeks for you to arrange collection, including promising a collection, having me take a day off work and wait in only to discover Parcel Force had never received the notice to pick up the printer.
Eventually it was collected, and it took more weeks for you to buy a new one and arrange to send it to me.
Again, it has been smashed up in transit. Parcel Force point to the inadequacy of your packaging. On both occasions the box has come with no protective outside packaging and no 'Fragile' markings.
I have had enough of this now - in particular the length of time you take to complete each step. It is completely unacceptable that it is nearly 8 weeks since I paid you for the printer and I'm yet to receive one in usable condition.
I now expect the unit to be collected ASAP - by midweek at the latest. I don't care if Parcel Force are busy at this time of year, use a special courier instead to get this sorted and absorb the cost. The fact you don't carry the stock is also not an acceptable excuse. On this occasion you should get another unit ordered NOW so that it can be replaced immediately.
I paid £630 for this printer and it's pretty reasonable to expect a decent level of service - and I know you would expect better than this when you buy things yourself.
If this isn't sorted and replaced this week I will be going to Natwest and Trading Standards to report you and get my money recovered from your bank account.
See my email for collection address.
I chose Okobe.co.uk based on their excellent prices for a Canon PIXMA Pro-1 inkjet printer, at £625 the best price I could find.
Ordered on 21st October, with 2 - 4 days delivery. Received a confirmation email straight away, but I called them evening of Friday 26th as I'd heard nothing more. Shortly after this I received an email saying the product had been dispatched and it arrived Saturday (though I missed it and had to collect from depot on Monday).
The product was simply shipped in its manufacturers box, no extra packaging to protect it, and it has been damaged in transit - 4 smashed ink cartridges. Canon recommend strongly I return it due to the possibility of internal damage to the printer.
I've called and emailed to get it replaced but had very limited response so far, and I've had no contact from them for 2 days now. This is absolutely unacceptable, even more so given the value of the printer.
Okobe.co.uk use a separate company to answer their phones (and possibly emails), which is fine, but the people there take your name and number and say someone will call you back - but I've made around 5 calls and no one has ever called me back.
I simply don't know what to do now.
I ordered a hard drive on their 2-4 day service on a Friday, the following Monday I received an email to say that it was being prepared for dispatch and then no futher emails. I emailed on Wednesday to ask if it had been dispatched, but received no reply.
On Thursday I telephoned and found out that it had been packaged for dispatch, but there was no number on their system, so it had gone missing between their warehouse and the delivery company. They had to contact the delivery company to obtain a reference number for a lost item and until that happened they couldn't dispatch another. Promised a call back later in the day - no call!
On Friday I telephone again to find that they had received the number from the delivery company so could re-order the drive, however it was now out of stock - apparently the agent should have reserverd one when the first order went missing but didn't! Asked to cancel the order, but was advised that they were receiving more stock on Monday and would send a replacement for next day delivery on Tuesday, so decided to wait. Promised a call on Monday to advise that this had happened - no call!
Over the weekend the drive went down in price on their website, so emailed to query whether they would honour that price as a gesture of customer service - heard nothing back.
Telephoned again on Wednesday as still hadn't heard anything or received the drive. Advised that the drive had been dispatched on Tuesday for delivery on Thursday, but couldn't give me a tracking number until he had spoken to the warehouse. Asked if the lower price was being matched, and told no as the price had gone up again on Tuesday prior to the drive being sent!
Fingers crossed that it actually turns up tomorrow.
I will never buy from this company again, and would advise others to steer well clear.
I was looking to buy a wacom tablet for a present. Initially got drawn in by Amazon's Lightning deals - and discovered okobe was still £50 cheaper - about 50% less than amazons usual price.
All delivered quickly and well packed - couldn't ask for better.
i bought a buffalo modem router off this company in august and now in October its developed a fault, they did not answer my e mail,so i called them, then i was told i had to get this and that off buffalo so they could see it was a faulty item before they would refund my money.any item bought off any company is covered by a 12 month warranty but they don't want to know.i am now going to be in contact with uk trading standards, and going to write to a consumer magazine to see if they can help and to get this out in the open useless company
I needed a reasonably quick delivery for a gift, and selected 2-4 working days. The checkout comes up with a 'supermarket-style' list of possible delivery days, so I clicked on a suitable one and proceeded with checkout. Not until this was completed, did I discover that the days were not for selection, but simply a list of when it might be delivered. This is a bit deceptive.
However, when I had no info about delivery by day two, I raised the query with Okabe saying I needed it by the weekend as a gift, and received a quick response advising that they had reviewed the order and would ensure delivery next day - which they did.
I think the checkout delivery style needs simplifying for clarity - but their response to my specific needs was personal and immediate. A very good example to others!
I bought through amazon, when it comes to a faulty item, they refuse to refund, I'v had to fight it out with amazon, because the item developed a fault after 14 days, Amazon wont refund me, so instead I have to reclaim from my CC... So because this company is cheap, doesn't mean you will be satisfied at the end..... BEWARE
I was searching around for a new laptop and finally found the one I wanted on currys for £750 and I was about to buy it, however I decided to do a quick Google search to see if I could get it cheaper. Okobe had the exact same one, but for £630. Saved me a small fortune! On top of this, express delivery was cheap, and it came in 2 working days. I am very impressed and will be buying from okobe again.
The Canon P-215 scanner I bought was cheaper than anywhere else I found, the communication was great and the delivery was quick.
The only slight downside was that the packing could have been better - an address label was just stuck to the product box with no extra packing, padding or wrapping to protect it. That said there was no damage to the scanner and it worked fine.
