I ordered a sofa set from Opentip.com because it offered the lowest price after I did a price research online. Two days later I got an email from them saying “we do not know the exact shipping fee until we get your ship to zip code” and asking me to pay $80 more for shipping, which was very ridiculous because I provided my address plus zip code when I placed the order online and their system calculated the shipping charge based on my zip code. If their system made a mistake, it was their fault. Why asking me to pay for their stupidity? So I told them I would not pay more and asked them to honor their price. Their response was they would not honor the price and later they cancelled my order. I have to say this company does not have basic business ethics. A business which does not honor its word is not an honorable business. Furthermore, I think it was fraudulent as they first deceived me with lower price to do business with them and later jacked up the price hoping I would pay since I already spent time on price research. In fact the backup store on my price research list increased the price a couple of days after I placed the order on Opentip.com. Eventually I bought the sofa set from that store because I did not want to do any business with the dishonest people from Opentip.com. Therefore, lesson is learnt and shared.
This is my first time dealing with OPENTIP, and there will be more business from me. I ordered a model ship, The "CONSTITUTION" , and I'm real happy with the model, the service and the quality, The shipping time was as stated, the packing was great. All in all,the whole purchase experience couldn't have went any better. In other words, everything was " EXCEPTIONAL"
I placed an order for a product that opentip.com said would ship in 3-4 days. After the initial message saying my order had been processed, I received no other notification for several days. I e-mailed customer service requesting a status update and was told they would check with their warehouse for a tracking #, but received no follow up message. After a full week with no indication that my order had been shipped yet I decided to call them on the phone. Over a terrible static line, I tried to communicate the situation to a rep who spoke barely understandable English. I think I'll be cancelling this order and going with Amazon next time. They may be more expensive, but they are reliable.
I was really happy with the products I ordered...the quality was incredible for the price and the shipment arrived really quickly...definitely would order from them again!
The shipping prices are really high, but the item price was so low it was still a cheaper way to go even with S&H! The product was a little lower quality than i was hoping for, but decent. I was hoping for a more sturdy cardstock & they are more lighter weight than cardstock. Cant complaine for the price.
I like the "Lead Rope 6'X 1/2Green/White Cotton( ITP-5512GW )" that I got. I ordered 5 and am pleased with the quality of them. The difficult part is in finding them and navigating the website. As a horse trainer I don't have time to just sift through thousands of items until I find the one I'm looking for. I agree that shipping & handling is a bit high at $15.59. But I was still getting about $2 off per lead rope I ordered from the store price, plus I wasn't going to have to shorten them since they were already the length that I liked.
I feel that if they made the site easier to go through and condensed some of the item that it would make using this website and company a whole lot easier for everyone.
I ordered an exercise round half foam roller--or so I thought. I picked this roller because it was inexpensive and the advertised picture was of a completely (360 degree) round short roller. What I got was half a roller alright--I mean--a roller not halved in length--but rather halved straight through the middle the long way--basically a crescent-shaped thing. What I got was not what was pictured!! My bad--the written description was "half roller" which I understood to mean (based on the picture of the product)was a shorter in length roller instead of a standard length one--no way did I ever anticipate (based on the picture) that the "half" roller I would get was halved straight down the middle the long way--nothing like the pictured item!!.
I admit, I picked this company because it offered the cheapest price. $5 was a great deal I thought (I didn't realize when I placed my order that I was going to be ripped off for almost $15 of shipping costs for something that weighed almost next to nothing!!!) Imagine my shock when (after waiting almost 6 long weeks for this product), I opened the package and saw a crescent shaped, very porous blue material, flimsy thing which looked nothing like the photo of what I had ordered.
Let me say again--not only was the item not what I thought I had ordered, I was ripped off for shipping charges (almost 3x what the item's price was) and it took forever for the product to get shipped to me!!
My husband called the company to rectify our issues with the product--the customer service rep was no help at all--basically--we'd be charged a fortune to ship the product back and have it replaced with something that looked like what I thought I had ordered in the first place!!
Remember--you get what you pay for!! I was so excited to order what looked like a typical foam exercise roller for only $5.00. What I got was a $20 piece of junk!! Lesson learned!!
Bought a faucet which was so poorly designed it could not be mounted in a standard counter top. The company's service line could not be contacted for two days because they were having phone problems. When I finally contacted customer service speech was unintelligible as they outsourced this to people that could not speak English. It then took them more than a week to send a return authorization. One month later they refunded 3/4 of my payment keeping the rest as a "restocking fee." BULLSHIT. Never again!
Opentip was easy to navigate through in searching for the product I wanted and in completeing my order. I was put off a little by the shipping amount; however, after comparing with a couple of other sites, the charges seem to be fairly standard.
Customer Service- Awful- Not only was difficult to understand the reps but there was alot of unneccessary leg work done on my end to get the order.
Items- I ordered and was charged for-5 dozen softballs. I received 5 out of the 60. On top of that, the softballs were not official DeBeer softballs as ordered and there was stains all over each ball. I am currently trying to get a return number to accompany the returned merchandise which is not easy and to no avail at this point.
I'm writing this review because of all the negative reviews I saw on this page. After shopping a number of sites and B&M stores, Opentip beat everyones prices, the closest being 30% higher. I allmost didn't order because of the reviews but I checked out their rating on BBB and saw they had an A+. 5 complaints, all settled. I ordered my stuff. Exactly what I ordered in 5 business days across the country. It was obviously drop shipped (meaning they never touched the merchandise) but so what, I saved $30 from the closest competitor and allmost half from the local hardware store. I'm not saying that folks writing the other reviews didn't have problems, just sharing my experience.
Order 6 items charged a total of $90. Got only two items worth about $5 and made up excused to refuse of refunding the shipping charges and Ma state tax for shipping my original order. This is a scam company and DO NIT BUy FROM THEM. Since we are both in Ma, and I will seek every legal way to make them out of business.
They charged over $40 for shipping and handle-ling then shipped to the wrong address. When I asked this be corrected they gave me a hard time, saying they would charge me $36 to fix this problem, such that I decided to deal with this on my own.
Their website described an item as having certain features, when received the item did not have these features. I talked to customer support and was told they were sorry and would issue a refund. Everytime I talk to them I was told they would "issue a refund asap" (their words). 6 weeks later and I still have not received a refund. Do Not Buy from them.
This company gets one star because the item did actually show up (faulty as it were). BEWARE THEY SAY THEY DO RETURNS, BUT THEY DO NOT!!! I've wasted a day of my life getting the run around from them. If you know of a way to actually get money back from Opentip.com, I'd love to know it. The BBB should shut this place down!

Is there anything less than a 1-star? Granted, the initial order was cheap and delivery was reasonably fast. Shipping was costly.
However, I found the product not to my liking. I phoned. I emailed. Two weeks later I got an RMA. I promptly sent the items I purchased back and received word that because I had opened two of them that I simply wouldn't receive a refund on those items. WHAT?!?! This, atop a hefty 20% restocking fee. RIDICULOUS. Between this and their awful customer service, make sure what you buy is what you want to keep. Or better yet, do this company a favor and put them out of business by shopping elsewhere. AVOID the SCAMMERS.
i ordered one box of shuttlecocks, golf tees, 4 badmiton racquets, 2 swim caps and 2 small pocket stunguns. Shipping was 16.99. I thought that was high considering some companies offer it for FREE. Then they call me and ask for $27 more dollars in shipping because apparently they are the middle man and these items are from all over. They said they had shipped everything but the stun guns. I asked where they were shipping from. They said NC...well i live in NC..these items total would not weigh over 5 or 6 pounds...not at all $47 dollars in shipping! I added to my order to get the free shipping but only to find out it was not free. We will see if I ever get anything in the mail. I have argued with them all night and they keep calling back with lots of odd noises in the background like it is in someone's home. The asian girl keeps saying she will check with her shipping manager. She waived the charges twice only to call back and tell us we have to pay them. HOw agrivating! She also says we cannot cancel because everything has shipped except the stun guns which is what I wanted in the first place.
