Hi, it's BEEN 5 MONTHS NOW SINCE I HAD MY EYES DONE AND IT FEELS LIKE ITS BEEN YEARS. I WISHED I HAD IT DONE YEARS AGO AS IT HAS GIVEN ME MORE CONIDENTS IN MY SELF. PEOPLE ARE SAYING TO ME (how young I look and smile on my face) AND NOW I HAVE BOUGHT MY DESIGNER SUN GLASSES AND I FEEL GREAT AND OFF ON MY HOLIDAY IN JUNE 2013 . TRY IT YOUR SELF AS THEIR IS NO PAIN AT ALL, JUST EYE DROPS FOR 2 MONTHS , 4 TIMES ADAY AND THAT IT. SEE YOU SOON .
I am thrilled with the result of my eye surgery. The whole process was quick and painless. I hated wearing glasses and now I don't need them at all. It is wonderful to wake up and not to have to reach for my glasses. I can watch television and read the words on it from my bed and shopping is so much easier. I can also see to put on my make up. It really is well worthwhile having replacement lenses.
45 days later I have no glasses and have requested a refund. Two prescriptions incorrect and one pair of glasses lost! Couldn't give me a refund as manager wasn't there. Staff do not answer the phone and you can never get through to the store (Bristol Cabot Circus). Do not use as they don't care about you!
Having laser eye surgery was a nerve-wracking experience but the team were very reassuring and it is such a quick procedure that all the worrying doesn't seem necessary once it's over. I would, however, advise others looking into laser eye surgery to tread cautiously as it is 1. very expensive and 2. does not work for everyone in the same way. I, for example now have severe dry eyes as a result of having the surgery and it is rather uncomfortable!! But I see it as something I put up with and will need to manage in return for having fantastic sight! Be cautious but if you are willing to deal with possible repercussions then you will be very happy with the procedure.
Completely changed my life I have regained my confidence and no longer hide behind my glasses. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Optical express were amazing during all stages from my first consultation to my after care.
Technically brilliant . Staff kind and helpful . The only point which I feel is crazy : dont tell people their appointment time and then add you want them to be there 20 minutes earlier .Just tell them when to be there! thats all folk need to know.
I HAD BEEN HAVING MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT HAVING THIS EYE LAZER TREATMENT DONE. WHEN I FINALLY MADE MY MIND UP TO HAVE THE TREATMENT , I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE OUT COME INSTANTLY.
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ADVISE ANYBODY THAT HAS A INTEREST IN HAVING THIS TREATMENT, TO GO AND HAVE IT DONE, BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER HAD DONE THIS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER. THE CARE THAT YOU RECIEVE AND THE AFTER CARE IS EXCELLENT.
MONEY WELL SPENT, THANK YOU SO MUCH
MY ELDERLY MOTHER OF 79YRS CANNOT BELIEVE HOW I CAN SEE WITHOUT MY GLASSES SHE HAVE SAID IT LIKE A MIRACLE HA HA XX
I was concerned about going to a high street chain for this decision, but have no regrets. Within days I had perfect vision and I can't believe I put this off for so long!
Having my eye laser surgery was the best thing iv ever done, I was nervous at first but the surgeons were really friendly and helped me relax and spoke to me all through the procedure, brilliant service and I recommend it to anybody that is thinking of getting eye laser, also you don't feel a thing :)
When sold eye cataract surgery was told I would not need Glasses, my Eyesight has improved only slightly and I keep going back and complaining and just get fobbed off with excusess the latest thing is giving me some Glasses to wear. On my last visit I was told I have too high an expectation £3000 for a slight improvement and still need Glasses I dont think so. 5 monthes since operation unlikely its going to improve.
Regards
John Lewis
ps my Sister Angela Lewis wants the operation what do you think I should say to her?
Very poor follow up service from Chester. I've subsequently changed opticians
I was thinking about having laser eye surgery for a while, before actually taking the first step and booking a consultation. From that point on, everything went perfectly - the staff were great, the treatment was great and the aftercare was great! The one regret I have is not taking that first step a couple of years ago.
Had the surgery in December and its the best move I have ever done. It's given me more confidence and in my every day life I'm able to do things that I couldn't do without the aid of glasses. I'm know able to play rugby with out struggling now because previously I could see but things were slightly blurry but now everything is clear. I'd recommend this procedure to everyone because you will be surprised how much it will change your every day life and its the best move I have done
I recently had lens replacement surgery as my prescription was a compromise between short and long sightedness.
The optician suggested that lens replacement surgery would be a good option for me as laser surgery would only correct for long sightedness but, I would have still required glasses for reading.
I had surgery on both eyes a week apart the staff and received excellent service from all of the optical express staff throughout my treatment. The day after surgery my vision was transformed and I had better than 2020 vision in the treated eye. The surgery was painless but the results were fantastic. I had a similar experience with the other eye and no longer need glasses, the great thing is that I now notice things that I probably would have missed before the surgery.
I can't recommend Optical Express highly enough. Absolutely everything was explained in detail so that I knew what I was getting into and how everything would happen. The staff were so friendly and made me feel relaxed and safe!
I am a bit squeamish and I started to feel a bit strange when I was in the middle of the procedure so they got someone to come and talk to me and hold my hand! Everything was just brilliant! There's just not enough words to describe how good it was!
In was talking to a man in the Butchers shop in Uxbridge only yesterday and he was serving us.He said he cant see a thing.I said do what i did.I had my eyes done in January at Optical Express just over the road.I said it was the best money i had ever spent.
It was worth every penny that it cost.
I am just waiting to have my last check up appointment and hey presto.
I would recommend it to everyone. The saving over the years will pay for the opp easy.
I would like to thank ALL the staff that were responsible for my care whilst at Optical Express , from the friendliness of the reception personnel to the conscientiousness of the surgeons . They were all diligent in their application of care , and I am very satisfied with the results of my surgery . Having worn glasses for the last 25 years , it is such a boon to not have to rely on them anymore , albeit needing them for close reading and writing . I would recommend Optical Express to any of my family and friends and would trust that they would receive the same level of care and understanding as I did under their treatment .
From start to finish I had excellent advice and treatment. Am so very pleased, already 2 of my friends are awaiting there eyes to be done on the outcome of my eyes!
I can't recommend the procedure enough. After six hours the patch came off and I could read the newspaper. After 8 years of glasses on/off/lost it felt wonderful.
Booking a consultation was easy online and I got a call very soon after to confirm. The telephone team were very polite and informative. It was nice to have an appointment on a Sunday!
Staff in the Bristol clinic were very helpful at my consultation and answered all my questions. I was planning to go for the cheapest possible surgery, but the large size of my pupils meant that I had to go for Wavefront (in a way, that was a good thing - you only get one set of eyes!). So I opted for the Lasik treatment with manual flap creation. The price was approx £1800.
I booked up for 2 weeks later and turned up on a Thursday afternoon. The waiting time was very minimal. The surgeon (Luca Antico) helped me to relax and did a final pre-test. The surgery itself was over in 5 minutes! It was a strange sensation; anaesthetic eye drops, followed by pressure clamps round your eyeballs and you have to keep staring at the red dot, whilst he cuts the flap and peels it back. From there on it was a blur, literally. The lasers did their bit, the flap was closed and a couple more anaesthetic drops for good measure... Repeat for the other eye... I was then taken to a room when a kind woman explained to me the process for the next 24 hours and beyond. Drops for this and drops for that.
I closed my eyes and my wife took me home in the car. I put the goggles on and went straight to bed (with coke and sweets at the bedside for pick-me-ups). After the anaesthetic wore off I experienced stinging for approximately 3 hours (I didn't really sleep!) - a small price to pay! I followed the dosage of drops religiously. That night I listened to radio and kept my eyes closed as much as possible.
The next day (Friday) I watched films and ate junk food (essential). I went to a wedding that Saturday and my vision was almost perfect, although I made sure not to join in the ceilidh dancing in case I got a whack in the face! I took it easy for the rest of the weekend and went back to work on the Monday. I work in an office - the air conditioning made my eyes sting a bit for the next couple of weeks. I continued with the eye drops, and although a little inconvenient, it was fine.
A week down the line one eye went blurry suddenly one morning. I called Optical Express straight away and booked an appointment 2 hours later... but within the hour my sight came back (panic over!) and I cancelled the appointment. Apparently this is quite normal.
A month later and no problems at all. My 7 day and One Month checkups were perfect. The flap had bonded and healed up nicely. And 20:12 vision has been achieved!
No 3 months later and still all is well. I love not having contact lenses or glasses. I love waking up and seeing the alarm clock. I love being able to see in the rain. I love putting my motorbike helmet on without the pain of spectacles. I love being able to do sports without worrying.
So if you're thinking of getting laser eye surgery... do it! Call Optical Express and arrange a consultation straight away.
After considering laser surgery a few years ago but not having it done, mainly due to the worry about "what if it all goes wrong", a close friend of mine had her eyes treated.
She could not praise Optical Express enough and she was delighted with the result and the way she had been treated. I took the bit between my teeth and went to Optical Express in Liverpool One. My first surprise is that it was a shop not an hospital, the staff greeted me immediately and then went to great lengths to explain the whole process and my options. I asked many questions that were all answered patiently and with a lot of detail. After this assessment I had enough confidence to proceed and within a week I had better than 20 20 vision. The actual operation was swift and practically pain free, the staff were caring and considerate and the predicted itching and watering of the eyes was easily bearable. Everything happen just as I was told it would.
I'm 57 now and still often wonder why I didn't have the Laser Eye Surgery 20 years ago ?? .. I have urged people to go and have the initial assessment and find out what can be done for them. It truly is life altering not to have Contact Lenses, glasses, readin glasses for when you have contacts in, prescription sun glasses etc etc.
Dave
Ok, it hurts a little (in the eye and wallet) but the two main benefits to me were:
1. Seeing the smile on my little boy's face when he runs into the bedroom in the morning without having to fumble around for my glasses!
2. Swimming on holiday with my son and generally playing sport.
However, there is also a disadvantage......I've noticed that the shower needs a re-grout!! Being fairly short sighted I'd have ot notice this.
It has to be the best decision I have ever made!!
I've worn contacts for about 5 years and glasses for 7 years, working in an office I would usually have glasses on all the time at work (even though I really didn't like wearing them) due to the air con drying out my contact lenses and even more the joys of forgetting to take your contact lenses out after a heavy night out.. That would be a joy in the morning thinking you have woken up to a miracle.
After my consultation at the Trafford Centre I was really excited to have it done and booked to have it done in January... Albeit very nervous as well. The day finally came and what absolute stars the staff were, could not of changed anything. The experience was relaxing and supportive and over in about 10 minutes, I was amazed.
I must warn you though that about half an hour after having done don't think it is easy sailing... My friend had to guide me home and had my eyes closed all the way home (about half an hour) not out of choice... It is very uncomfortable after having the surgery but about 12 hours after having it done I could open my eyes and actually see, it was amazing!!!
The aftercare and support you receive from Optical Express is absolutely fantastic and thank them soo much for everything! It has now been 4 months since the surgery and I have had no problems, I would recommend this to everyone :)
The treatment is still in progress. However I have confidence on your staff, and I,am convinced that they know what they are doing.
I had been wondering about having laser eye surgery for over a year; weighing up the cost with the potential benefits, the risks with the fantasies of glasses free living. Eventually, a friend who'd had the procedure referred me and I made the first step - booking a consultation.
I was in for the initial appointment very quickly, and the tests were nothing unusual; having had glasses for a number of years. The lady I spoke to about the treatment was very helpful and thorough and answered all my questions. I made the decision and booked in for two weeks later and I couldn't wait.
On the day the process was very relaxing, the staff were all very kind and reassuring. The procedure itself is fine; a little strange but not at all painful. I will be honest, my eyes were a little sore for 2-3 hours after the surgery, but as soon as I'd had a bit of sleep they were fine.
The eye drops are easy to use and don't hurt at all, and the after care regime is really straightforward. All my follow-up appointments were great (saturday appointments for convenience) and I had no issues. Within a month I was back playing badminton and squash, and actually went to centre parcs with absolutely no problems.
Despite initially being very careful and worried I would injure my eyes from rubbing them etc (probably too cautious) I have had no issues and three months on am totally back to normal and forget I even had it done. I have better than 20/20 vision and have been offically discharged and I am over the moon.
Life is so much better now with perfect vision, I have no issues, I can see (everything!) and I cannot wait for all of the things that I was getting annoyed about because of my glasses (getting married, going on holiday etc).
I would 100% recommend optical express to anyone, I have no complaints whatsoever and think that laser eye surgery is outstanding.
I had my laser eye surgery done in Janaury 2013. I was very nervous if the procedure but the staff reassured me. The surgery was a little bit uncomforatable but the results was brilliant. Love that i dont have to were glasses any more and i have recommend this to a few friends
The whole treatment at optical express went far better than I had ever imagined, my eyesight was improved greatly almost immediately and ever since I have had no problems. I cannot recommend the treatment high enough and would advise anyone considering laser treatment to go ahead with it. the procedure is painless, quick and efficient and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my money. All the staff there were incredibly helpful and forth coming, and this immediately made me feel relaxed about the whole laser process. The aftercare is also excellent, with regular visits back to the clinic to make sure everything went well, which it did. To everyone at optical express, thank you for the surgery it has improved my quality of life massively
So: who isn't afraid of getting their eyes touched? I was certainly no different, despite years of contact lenses. But I decided that if not now, then it would probably be never, and booked myself in for a free consultation at York.
Apart from being friendly and courteous, they explained everything to me, and helped me understand what I was deciding on. After booking my op in Leeds, I have no fears. The operation itself was unnerving, but in no way painful. The aftercare advice was brilliant, and all of my check ups have been problem-free.
I've now been discharged, and officially have better than 20: 20 vision. I can't imagine my life without it, and I recommend anyone to go in for a free consultation!
This is probably the best money I've ever spent. I still smile in awe as I look around and see things so clearly, wake up in the morning without squinting at the alarm clock, move from inside to outside without having to swap between glasses and sunglasses to see.
The staff at Optical Express have all been extremely friendly and professional, answering all my questions, easing all my concerns and making the whole process as painless and easy as possible.
I would definitely recommend both them and the Lasik surgery.
After having eye laser surgery in September I have severe dry eyes, halo, starburst, watering eyes, stinging headaches etc been on 8 different eye drops & was told last month my eyes have regressed to my prescription pre surgery, I'm very disappointed and have lost confidence driving at night due to starburst and halo & therefore will not drive in the dark, I have been waiting for 3 months for a phone call for eye plugs, went in MK optical express 3 weeks ago they were rushed off there feet and was told the would ring me back that day to arrange a appointment & to this day have not rang. I am back to wearing glasses after 2weeks of ordering them I rang to see if glasses were in stock & was told yes, I asked why no one contacted me and they said it said on computer I was contact, my home phone & mobile had not been contacted to which they replied a letter was sent by post, which been 2 weeks and not been recieved, just seem to be fobbed off and lied to.... AVOID!!!
Before, during and after my treatment everyone has been friendly, helpful and informative. At all my appointments I've been seen promptly and efficiently. The results have been fantastic and I would certainly recommend Optical Express to anyone.
I am currently 6 months post laser surgery and can't believe how simple the whole process has been. My vision has been perfect and the dryness was non existent after 2-3 months, gradually decreasing from the first day post surgery. Optical Express guided me through the whole process expertly and I would recommend the procedure to anyone once you are suitable. I've just turned 25 and am so glad that I didn't wait a minute longer to get it done or spent my money on something that is far more of a transient experience. For where I'm at 6 months on, it was worth every cent!

THE TREATMENT I RECIEVED AT OPYICAL EXPRESS WAS PERFECT FROM BEGINING TO THE END.I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE MY LASER TREATMENT AND I WOULD RECOMEND LASER SURGERY AT OPTICAL EXPRESS TO ANYONE THANKOU.
I had my operation in December 2012, After some thorough examinations of my eyes I was told I was suitable for the procedure. The surgeon and assistants on the day were incredibly friendly and reassuring. Amazingly the whole procedure took less than 10 minutes. Even more amazingly after a few hours of discomfort I was able to see without glasses for the first time in over 30 years. I have had a few visits post surgery for some minor dry eye issues which are now resolved - the after care has been first class. My next visit is now the annual check . I now have better than 20/20 vision and the whole experience has honestly been life changing.
I can't recommend the procedure and optical express highly enough from initial consultation through to post procedure care they have been top notch.
I have 20:20 vision on the eye test, but in reality everything is a bit blurry. It is great not wearing glasses, but I wish my vision would clear. I notice this especially when driving, when I have to wait for the signposts to come into focus.
I would recommend optical express to everyone, they were very helpfull throughout they reassured me, the surgery itself was painless and quick and the results amazing still have to pinch myself that I can wake up every morning and see so clearly best money I've spent.
