I found this company through a web search as I needed my Prada Sunglasses repaired. Everything was quick and efficient throughout the process! I have two improvements the company could make to get a five star rating! 1.) When I was initially on the site paying with a credit card, I could have swore it was for return shipping! After the repair I was given shipping options at an additional fee...I chose the free one and the glasses arrived priority mail in two days. 2.)My only qualm is that the glasses were shipped without bubble wrap...they arrived loose in a box! No damage was done...but the site does ask the customer to wrap the glasses securely before shipping to avoid damage! Other than that, company delivered on all promises...therefore I have given them 4 out of 5 stars!
This is a scam company for real. I paid up for a Fred glasses in June 2013 and as at today 19/02/2014, I am yet to receive the glasses. My account was debited to the tune of 700 dollars and till today after 8 months I have not received the glasses. Trust me, it's a scam company and it's difficult to believe any positive testimonial here is real. All I got from that company was insults from Becky who probably heads the scam. It's a well organised scam. Won't be surprised if Becky is not her real name. That website needs to be brought down to stop this scammers.
I was looking for these that were sold out everywhere. Before I purchased I had a few questions and I emailed and chatted and got immediate responses. Got my glasses a week later, no problems. not sure what everyone is complaining about.
I sent in my glasses and they provided an estimate that I paid for..$60.00(for micro weld) I received my glasses 2 weeks later NOT REPAIRED. And the critical part that needed to be micro-welded is missing! (the part had to be unscrewed with a special Allen wrench)
Because of this missing piece, I cant get them repaired anywhere now
I then had to call them to find out they couldn't fix the issue and also get ball rolling on a refund... (Weeks after they came to the conclusion the couldn't repair!)
I own my business and would never allow this kind of customer service in my field! Making Wireless, Wireless..
December 17, 2013 I order a pair of sunglasses as a Christmas present. I receive an email saying my credit card was declined please submit another one. So I give them my debit that was removed from my account on December 20th.
Then I keep receiving emails saying that my credit card was declined from someone named "Becky" no work title. I tried calling the company # several times for several days and pressing all options and NO ONE ever answered! It ALWAYS went to voice mail after telling me that I was next in line. After leaving several courteous voice mails and finally some aggravated ones as well...I NEVER received a response.
Someone finally responded to me on their "Live Website Chat" and explained it was a mistake that the credit card declined had not been lifted and that they were processing the order. When asked if I could cancel and get a refund. They only responded in regards to the cancellation policy and told me I would have to read the policy myself. And that if I wanted a refund, it would be -20%. Even for a product not processed or received! SUCH A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so disappointed I did not read these reviews first. I am disgusted that people have given this company 5 stars. They must be part of the scam. Now, I have to wait to see if I get a refund and worry that they are stealing the rest of my information.
I ordered a pair of sunglasses they ended up not having what I ordered. I said ok I just want a refund they were so rude asked if I could find something else since that representative worked on commission and wanted to make a sale. How amazing, then when I asked again just for a refund they had said "I was never charged". Put just like that. I have the email stating my payment has been received. No word in almost a week back from them. I've called numerous times just to sit there and wait for nobody to answer. I would not recommend them to anybody.
If I was you I would not touch Opticsfast.com because they are a rubbish firm to go for. Even if you asked for a price match they don't beat the best price like I found and they ever price match my item at all. I asked for a refund but still no joy after 6 months. I can even get to speak to anyone as they never answer the phone as they ever call you back from a call back option. They even take a 20% cancelation fee off you. I even emailed them as they said my order was canceled ages ago. But they never refunded me. All they do is just fob people off and not sure if it is just a scam and selling fake goods. So if want to buy any designer sunglasses best to stick to the high streets or the official website of different manufature's Do use this website as you will be out of pocket where they will not give you your money back.
I totally agree with all the other negative reviews on this company, I only wish I had read these reviews before I did business with them. I ordered some Dolce & Gabbana frames from them and was told they would be shipped in two weeks. After two weeks and not receiving a shipping confirmation I started to follow up on delivery. My first reply was from Becky S. and reads as follows;
"Rest assure I am on top of this situation and have no interest to delay the order The request for more information about your order has been sent to my shipping department I will not leave them alone until they resolve this problem for you. I will keep this email as new as deal with this issue until its resolved. I will get back to you with the response I get as soon as I hear from them"
Never heard back from Becky S, so I followed up again and was told the frames would arrive the following week, well 1 week later there was still no shipping confirmation, so I contacted them again and was told they had been shipped from "ITALY" and would be here next week. After the week had passed they frames had not arrived, so I contacted them again and was told the frames had finally arrived and would be shipped today. They told me they would express them to me at their expense, this is now 5 weeks after my original order.
The frames arrived the next day, they were not expressed, they were shipped first class postage. Upon opening the box I found the frames wrapped in a white generic plain padded pouch with bubble wrap inside the box. Written on the padded pouch in felt pen was "Dolce & Gabbana Eye Glass Frames", they was no designer box for the frames, which is what you receive when buying designer frames of glasses.
One interesting note, there was no packing list with the shipment and on the shipping label the frames were shipped from a RESIDENCE located in Spring Valley, California, not from their office in NY.
After comparing the new frames with my old frames, everything appeared to be the same including "MADE IN ITALY" my best guess is they are knock offs MADE IN CHINA.
I am going to contact US Customs and file a complaint, I am sure they would be interested in items imported into this country using a false country of origin.
My OpticsFast adventure began when I broke the hinge on a favorite pair of Serengeti sunglasses. After some quick web research, I found OpticsFast ("If we can't fix them, nobody can"). I sent the glasses, received an email indicating they could be repaired, but I would have to pre-pay for the work ($72.89).
Approximately two weeks later I received a box from OpticsFast -- the glasses were wrapped loosely in a plastic bag, unrepaired (even worse, one of the lenses had come out of the frame and was loose in the bag), with no letter or other explanation. I called OpticsFast, and was told that the glasses couldn't be repaired. I asked why I had received an email indicating that they COULD be repaired, and why I had been charged -- the representative apologized, and explained that sometimes it was hard to make a final determination until a technician actually began work on the glasses.
I suppose I was OK with that explanation -- but then asked why the repair charge hadn't been refunded. The individual again apologized, and indicated that "she would take care of it," and I would see a credit in the next seven to 10 days. This made me curious -- "Are you telling me that if I hadn't called, I wouldn't have received a credit?" The individual simply apologized again, and I gave it no more thought -- and she helpfully offered that if I were to purchase a new pair of glasses from the company, I would receive a discount.
Which led me to make my second mistake -- ordering new glasses from OpticsFast. After going through a number of back-and-forths, I was able to get OpticsFast to match the prevailing competitive price, so placed the order. I was told that I would receive the glasses in seven to 10 days.
So I began to wait.
After about 10 days, I called to get order status. I was told that the glasses would be in "any day," and I would have them by the end of the week (I had called on a Monday). The next week, I called again, received the same answer, but no product. The third week, I called AGAIN, and when the representative started giving the same answer, I became upset and said that if I didn't receive the glasses by the end of the week, I was going to cancel the order -- in response, the individual cheerily said "OK, bye-bye" and hung up on me!
I was furious, called back, got a different representative, and asked to cancel the order -- she asked why, but when I related my story, didn't seem very interested but said she would send an email to confirm the cancellation.
However, I still was angry -- I'm a retail consultant, and am very sensitive to customer service -- so called back and asked for a supervisor. I connected with an individual who was extremely apologetic -- she explained that OpticsFast doesn't keep many of its products in stock, but has to order from manufacturers after receiving a customer order. In the case of Serengeti, this often takes three weeks. I explained that I could understand that business model, and had I been told that in the beginning, I would have been fine -- what I COULDN'T accept was that I had been repeatedly misled, and worse yet, had a customer service representative hang up on me. She again apologized for the former, and said she would look into the latter.
Later that day, I received the cancellation email -- it actually wasn't a cancellation, but a reply-to confirmation, complete with the message that I would be charged a 20% cancellation fee should I choose to cancel.
By this time, I was so disgusted, I decided to just wait them out. And finally -- two weeks later (and five weeks after placing the order) my sunglasses arrived.
This is actually a far better end than that suffered by many other reviewers. Bottom line -- I think that there are some individuals at OpticsFast that do care about customers, but there are many more that don't. Proceed with caution.
I ordered a pair of Tiffany glasses from these jerks. Got an e-mail back saying they couldn't fill the order and to choose another pair. I told them I didn't like any of the other ones and just wanted a refund. I got 4 e-mails TELLING me to order another pair. I wrote to them telling them that I had contacted my credit card company and the matter would be taken further. Got my refund but it took ages and I got stung for two lots of exchange rate costs. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
It's kind of funny that I got an email FROM OpticsFast asking me to review them here and on ResellerRatings.com (where they have an average of 0.68/10 after 484 reviews. Wow). I almost think OpticsFast is a big prank. I mean their name itself is hilariously inaccurate.
It took me over 2 months to receive glasses that were supposed to come in 2 weeks. Every time I contacted OpticsFast to check the status of my order they seemed totally unsurprised that the order was taking way longer than estimated and constantly told me it would get to the lab "soon," a process that was supposed to take days but ended up taking weeks. When the glasses finally did show up, they were not in a case. Just loose in a box. With a generic sleeve on the side. No Emporio Armani case at all.
I would never ever ever ever order anything from them ever again.
I would like to thank OpticsFast for fixing my broken Chanel sunglasses that I have been told are impossible to fix by both the Chanel boutique as well as numerous optical shops (the issue is the left template broke apart at the hinge).
Customer service were very fast at replying to my emails and questions and addressing my issues. From my experience, I felt they were better at communicating by email and replying to emails than they were at answering the phone.
Speed wise, overall, the whole process from sending out the sunglasses to receiving them fixed took about 2 and a half weeks.
Worst experience and first time ever providing a review on any company or product. Took forever, uninformed that my lenses could not be repaired. They sent me a cheap fake that were not attached to the frames and that I couldn't even see clearly through. HORRIBLE and completely unprofessional customer service; refused to pay for shipping to send my glasses back a second time and refused to provide a refund. Even went thru Amex with no luck. Please save yourself the time and frustration. Do not deal with this sham of a company.
I purchased an Oliverspeoples sunglasses for my friend (whose birthday was on August) last year year around July. They said the product would arrive somewhere between 1 week to 2 weeks. I was very excited to give her the present but we waited and waited and waited and came her birthday and her glasses were still not here... I emailed their customer service, and it went nowhere... I chatted with them online, and they said they would look into it without even asking for my tracking number or anything.. and it still went nowhere. September arrived and I still haven't gotten the sunglasses, I asked them if I could get a refund because this was unacceptable! they said their "vendor in ITALY" hasn't shipped it out yet so I had to wait. So we waited and waited and came NOVEMBER and we were like okay if you don't give us our glasses or our money back we're gonna file a complaint. Then they finally rushed things up and we got our glasses couple weeks before Christmas... Okay great we got our sunglasses, but the thing is THE SUNGLASSES WERE NOT NEW!!!! THEY SENT US A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES THAT WERE OBVIOUSLY PREUSED. THE case looks worn, and the frame had small scratches on it. THEY WERE SELLING US SECOND HAND SUNGLASSES FOR ALMOST THE FULL PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want to deal with them again, who knows if they're gonna refund my money so I let it go. Recently I received an email from them... "Sorry to bother you, but I have a small proposal you may be interested in.
On 11/8/2012, we shipped you a pair of the OLIVER PEOPLES EMELITA 56 MTBP
While this item was available at the time that you bought it, its now currently discontinued.
I have a client who is interested in this particular item in the color you bought.
I just wanted to email you to see if you are willing to sell it back to
me for a reasonable price. This item must be in NEW or LIKE NEW condition
I would be willing to either pay you for this item, or to give you a credit towards a new item at one of our websites.
Please get back to me and let me know if this is of any interest to you." ARE U KIDDING ME!!!!! This basically PROVES to me that this company is buying used sunglasses from their customers and then selling them to other people and then taking it back to sell to other people for FULL PRICE. DO NOT BUY, you will have an used product that takes MONTHS to get because nobody is willing to sell their sunglasses back to the company.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience with OpticsFast.com. Although their web site said that it could take 2-6 weeks to receive the frames I ordered, it has taken 8 weeks. Communication with them is a terrible experience. The web site says they are available from 9-7, but the phone message says 9-6. If you call at 5, you will not get anyone to answer. Leaving a message for a callback never works. They have never returned a phone call. When I was able to talk to a representative, the only answer was either "we are stil waiting for the shipment" or "we have sent an email message and are waiting for a response." They said they would upgrade my shipping when the frames arrived and did not do that. I am still waiting for the frames to arrive after they were shipped on Friday and it is Tuesday. I hope thye are in good shape and do not have to return them!
on august 24th, i sent my sunglasses in to this scam company for repair.the website looked very professional and repair pictures looked state of the art repair methods. i had to prepay return postage and then pay them after they received glasses and gave the cost of rewelding the broken plastic arm. i never heard back from them for weeks and when i called a dozen times and emailed over and over i was given many different stories from it being a jewish holiday and no one was working to the welding machine was broken, to i cant help you youll just have to wait till the factory sends them out.i complained to amex as well. finally after one last call i received them on the 20th of october glued with crazy glue all over the arm and they immediately broke again. they were never repaired. this company doesnt exist. they are just taking money and you are lucky to get them back in the same broken condition as they were when first sent in. they need to be put out of business. the glasses are now damaged with glue and unfixable. they need to be punished. i noticed after researching further that they do this all the time to many customers. they are so stupid they told me they are a worldwide repair facility and are so busy that it takes a few weeks to get glasses back. but they advertise a quick repair at the facility i mailed them to. optics fast is a con!
I sent a pair of Revo's and Persol's in for repair. After getting the bid to repair with the H2O lenses for the Revo's and the repair for the frame on the Persol I approved the work. The result is the wrong lenses in both glasses, I only approved the lens replacement on the REVO's and both now have the wrong lenses and the repair on the frame to the Persol looks like a kid did it. The frame is crooked and appears to have been glued in damaging the outside of the frame where it was not damaged. I am very disappointed, unhappy and at this point would not recommend the service. I have wasted my money and should have just bought new glasses.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM! Sent in a pair of Prada sunglasses for repair. It took nearly 2 months for the repair, and when I got them back they were actually in worse shape than when I sent them in! They are currently not wearable! When I wrote their customer service staff, they made some lame excuse & basically had an attitude of "tough luck"; and they would not refund my money!
