Otel.com did what it did but it also says that rates include 'all local taxes'. I went to a hotel in Florence and needed to pay the local taxes anyway (€ 4). It is not a big amount but it's annoying anyway, it looks like they are cheaper than the others but they aren't after all! I will never book through Otel.com again.
Simple: on two occasions I booked a QUAD room, to ensure myself and a friend had ample space, traveling with a lot of equipment/baggage. On the first occasion I was given a TWIN, and on the second a TRIPLE.
Why would I get a TWIN if I was booked a QUAD room?
I complained and about 1 month later it was explained to me since I'd only specified two guest names a TWIN or TRIPLE would suffice. But that's not what I booked!
Bottom line: I DID NOT GET WHAT I PAID FOR.

I really advise everybody NOT to book a hotel through otel.com. Not realizing that it was otel.com and not hotel.com, I booked a hotel with them. The 1100 $ US were immediately withdrawn from my credit card, but I did not receive any confirmation. When I contacted the hotel, they did not have any bookings in my name. When I was trying to get in touch with otel.com over the phone, I had to wait for over 30 min, until I was finally connected with a call center. The person on the other side hardly spoke any English and it was virtually impossible to communicate with her. After 3 days, I received a confirmation from otel.com and the hotel also confirmed the booking. 1 day before my booked arrival I receive a message by email that my hotel was overbooked and that they had booked me into another hotel, which was in a completely different area of the town than the one I wanted to visit. When I contacted the hotel management, they told me that this is a usual problem with otel.com, because they do not manage their bookings properly.
I would really advise everybody to stay away from otel.com!
Every thing I've read is true about not able to booking the advertising amount, cancelling being a problem and the hotel not having your booking. You can't understand the people on the phone and the whole experience with a unprofessional business.
I had a hard time booking and they said the reason was the rate had changed. It was $24.00 more, but a week later the same lower price was advertised. I was offered a 5% discount but was not even, nor would they adjust my payment. I called the hotel and they did not have a booking for me. They were nice enough to offer me a room and discount, since I have stayed there in the past.
I tried to cancel my booking with otel.com, but I was not receiving confirmation and know would respond to me emails. I finally figured it out when the site asked for a reason, I changed it to "there was a problem with my card" and it then offered me to input a new card or cancel. I have not yet received my refund, this happened yesterday. If I have anymore problems, I will make it a legal problem. They do not know who they are messing with!
I have tried to cancel a non refundable booking due to exceptional medical circumstances. Everyone I've spoken to is very difficult to understand as they don't speak great English, however my biggest challenge is they have asked for a medical report which I've gone to the trouble of send and they just don't get back to you. I have sent 3 emails now and called again today wasting 30 mins yet again, the booking is tomorrow and they still can't give me an answer. When I asked for the direct number of Gokce Muyesser from Customer Service Support who was dealing with me she then cut me off. If the answer had been a straight no I would have understood, however to ask me to go to the trouble of sending info and then never getting back to me is just very poor customer service.
I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company in my life. I made a reservation for a hotel in Nyc and when i tried to cancel it hours later they said you can not cancel and will be charged $400. After arguing back and forth for days they finally say i will be fully re-inbursed within 8-10 days. After two weeks i call and they repeat the same thing they said the first day that i cannot cancel. And charged my card 400.00, on the phone it sounds like there in an apartment with three people working, very sketchy! They hung up on me and charged me the full price although i did not stay at the hotel.
I booked a five star hotel in Europe through this company only to find when I arrived to check in that the hotel could not provide the standard of room I had pre-paid otel.com for. The hotel was outstanding in sorting things out the following day, but otel.com refused to take any responsibility for the problem arising in the fist place. The customer service staff I spoke to barely spoke English and correspondence through their website came down to them saying "it's not our fault". Well, it might not have been their fault, but it was their problem because my contract was with them and not the hotel. But I've learned from the experience and will never ever use them again and strongly advise others to steer well clear.
I was about to make a booking of a hotel in London but as soon as I've entered my card details I found out the amount was in USD instead of GBP. So I hit the 'cancel' button as I wanted to avoid the exchange rate. Strangely enough as soon as I hit the cancel button I got an email from otel.com saying my card has been charged 987.75 USD. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! And normally when I make an online transaction with my debit card a security page would appear and I need to enter a internet security code before the transaction could be proceed. This clearly did not happen but I still got charged. I now need to ring my bank up to tell them to stop this transaction and hope it will get sorted.
This website had the best price I found online for a specific resort. I made my reservation with no problems. However, I assisted my in-laws with their reservation to the same resort for the same dates and their local bank contacted them saying that their credit card had been compromised for an individual/company in Turkey. They paid for their room upfront in March. However, I called the resort directly and they had no record of the reservation. This continued until late May. I tried contacting otel.com via phone, email and through their website and got nowhere. When I was lucky enough to visit with a real person, their English was very broken. After months of this nonsense, I had to threaten legal action and they finally lined up a room. I would not recommend using this website!!!
I booked a room for one night on the Gold Coast in Australia. I got confirmation from otel.com and printed it ready to hand in at check in. When i presented my booking details the reception desk could not find me on their system at all. The supervisor was called in and went out the back to look up their emails to see if they could find a record of it that way but still they couldn't find me.
In the end they gave me a room but I had to wait 45 minutes for checkin and it was far too much drama.
BEWARE I tried to cancel my reservation by phone which they do not allow, so I canceled by computer only to find out it was not cancelled and was left paying the full amount for two nights in a hotel where the road access was washed away. I called and emailed the company and hotel to no avail. Stay away from them.
Good price and one of the few options for the hotel we wanted. No problems at all with the booking or stay. Somewhat anoying that we had to pay in advance and print a voucher, although I got several mails reminding me to bring the voucher, a nice feature.
Maybe otel.com is not so wellknown as some other reservations systems, but it is worth while to consult it, because in some countries they have really competitive rater. The team works smoothly and as a regular you receive your booking voucher after only 5 min. online. There is a convenient self service invoicing tool, which avoids bookkeeping trouble should you loose the original bill. You can always print it out long after journey's end.
The description of the hotels could be more vivid and detailed, not always following the same basic text. The hotel maps could be better too.
Users usually do not notice that they are booking in Turkey. Only when they look at their account statement they realize that they might encounter a slight loss in money transfer due to the difference in rate currencies.
I am a regular customer since more than 5 years and there was only one booking in Barcelona, which made some trouble, the hotel trying to give my room to high level business fair guests, while "forgetting" my normal rate booking.

The Otel.com hotel selection in Europe is pretty good and the online selection process is easy to use. Prices are generally 'ball park' with other online hotel providers, but the loyalty scheme is usually worthwhile. A benefit of using Otel.com is that the price is what you see at the time of booking - rather than any fluctuation in exchange rates up to the time you stay (and Pay) at the hotel as required by some other sites.
The location maps are often quite misleading - a recent experience was at Dunkerque where the actual hotel location was 10km away - damned annoying when one travels by train and selects hotels that are accessible therefrom!
OTEL are so easy to use and I have never found a place where they cannot find a hotel even though I do have to book some less popular places! The whole process is quick and easy and normally displays various room option so something for every budget.

Otel.com ist eine Buchungsseite, auf der man oft preisgünstige Hotelzimmer findet. Sucht man bei Hotelportalen wie trivago.de nach Hotelzimmern, so ist oft otel.com der preiswerteste Anbieter.
Neben den guten Zimmerpreisen ist die Tatsache, dass man 5% nach der Abreise erstattet bekommt, ein Grund, bei otel.com zu buchen. Allerdings ist es sehr unübersichtlich, zu kontrollieren, ob man für die jeweilige Buchung einen Betrag gutgeschrieben bekommen hat und ob der Betrag stimmig ist.
Zudem ist durch die Tatsache, dass die Punkte dieses sog. FivePlus-Programms einem US-Dollar entsprechen, obwohl man in Euro bucht, ein weiterer Aspekt, der das Ganze intransparent macht.
Schließlich gibt es einige "Spielregeln", die den Spaß reduzieren. So bekommt man keine Gutschrift, wenn man bei einer Buchung vom Programm profitiert, d. h. gesammelte Punkte einsetzt. Es gibt meiner Meinung nach keinen Grund, für den Restbetrag, den man ja nach wie vor zahlt, keine 5% zu geben. Eine andere Regel besagt, dass man nur soviele Punkte einsetzen kann, dass der Gesamtpreis sich um 10% reduziert, d. h. man kann nur viele seiner Punkte einsetzen, wenn die neue Buchung höher ist als die jeweils letzte.
Ein letzter Kritikpunkt ist die Tatsache, dass man - anders als z. B. bei olotels.com - keinen Bonus für Bewertungen erhält.
Fazit: "Gute Preise, gute Besserung."
I was looking for cheap hotels in Antalya for my summer holiday. I have seen otel.com on google results. They have good hotel pages and you can see the reviews about hotels. I think before going somewhere it is a good idea to check their rates.
Bookede et hotel i København, de trak pengene på min konto, men meddelte mig derefter at de ikke kunne tilbyde det pågældende hotel alligevel. Dårligt, nu har jeg penge ude at svømme.
Det er for dårligt, at de trækker beløbet før reservationen er i orden.

Jeg havde booket et 5-stjernet hotel i Dubrovnik i Kroatien ved stranden, men da vi kom derned med en forudbetalt voucher i hånden, havde hotellet ikke accepteret bookingen fra Otel.com og de havde ingen ledige værelser til os.
Vi stod flere timer i hotellets reception og talte i telefon med bookingfirmaet og ventede på, at de kunne finde et tilsvarende alternativ til vores reservation. Med tiden gik det op for os, at de ikke var villige til at booke et tilsvarende andet hotel og heller ikke et andet hotel, som vi selv havde fundet , på trods af, at det var en lavere kategori (4-stjernet).
Det eneste de kunne tilbyde var en lejlighed inde i byen, langt væk fra stranden og uden morgenmad og roomservice. Det var ikke det, vi havde bestilt hjemmefra og heller ikke, hvad vi forventede. Efter 6 timers telefonisk diskussion med dem – frem og tilbage – blev vi nødsaget til at acceptere lejligheden, da det var sent om aftenen og vi var efterhånden udkørte.
Vores sommerferie blev slet ikke som vi havde håbet og forventet.

Take Care, if you decide to book a hotel or do business with www.Otel.com, which is an international hotelbooking-company. You have to be very careful, because you may not get, what you expect or pay for, as it happened to me and my family.
I had booked a 5 star-hotel in Dubrovnik, Croatia, at the beach through them, and after arriving to the hotel with our prepaid voucher, we found out that the hotel in Dubrovnik had never accepted the booking through Otel.com, and they didnt have any spare rooms.
We stood several hours in the hotel lobby in Dubrovnik to negotiate with Otel.com on the phone without any progress. They refused to give os another hotel in the samme rating, inspite of the fact that we had asked them to book an alternative hotel, which was a 4 -star hotel nearby.
The only thing they could offer was an appartement, which we were forced to accept after 6 hours of negotiatian, as it was getting late, and we needed a place to stay.
The appartment was without breakfast, roomservice, swimmingpool and far from the beach and not what we had paid for or expected.
Our summerholiday this year was not as we had hoped and looked forward to.

Ho prenotato, mi hanno prelevato i soldi senza conferma.Gli ho telefonato (ti parlano solo in inglese!!!!) e mi hanno detto che la prenotazione era stata annullata per disfunzioni e di non preoccuparmi perchè i soldi erano solo bloccati.Prenoto con un altra agenzia e dopo 2 giorni quelli di Otel mi dicono che la mia prenotazione era confermata!!!!Soldi andati 400€!!!!Lasciateli perdere (escludeteli da Trivago)....non mi è mai successo con nessuna agenzia!

There were no problems with the hotel and I pretty much got what I expected.
I needed to add an extra day at the last minute and the hotels rate was pretty high but Sunshine from customer care made my day and confirmed the extra night in a very timely fashion.
I will definitely use otel.com again for my next trip
They have a quite competitive range of hotel prices and the 5% back when you make a booking makes you to go again for the following booking. 24hr customer service and very good cancellation policy. Bookings promptly amended and refunded when needed. It's worth booking with otel.com ... if they have the cheapest price in town... they are competitive, but not always the cheapest, as you can find same hotels at better deals in other websites...It just happened to me the other day.
