I booked 3 rooms in Las Vegas through Otel.com. The price was good and of course, making the reservation was easy enough but a few minutes after I made the reservation I realized I had made a mistake with the dates on one of the rooms. Do not have questions for Otel.com. I called and spoke to someone who barely spoke English. He informed me I needed to write an email. I did this immediately and 5 months later have still not gotten a response. Although I am obviously not waiting for a response at this point as I have already taken the trip, the lack of customer service didn't impress me. Oh and the foreign exchange fee that's added on to the price was a bit surprising as well.
I'd like to preface anything I say here by stating that seldom do I ever believe a 5-STAR rating when others award it on whichever other trust-related website I might care to be looking at: I'm naturally cynical and always wonder if such people have links to that particular hotel, airline, etc. However -- and in defiance of my own cynicism -- I award Otel.com my five stars. Why? Firstly, the criteria for 4 stars seemed to necessitate there having been something not quite perfect, no matter how small. Well, as I have not had any problems at all with Otel.com, it would be churlish not to award full marks. Additionally, I had read some quite negative comments about Otel.com recently, something which concerned me as I was about to have to get in touch with Otel.com about a room booking mix-up (but one which was exclusively the fault of my hotel and nothing to do with Otel.com, my hotel would later explain). I'd read that you could not get hold of Otel.com, for instance, whenever the fit hit the shan. Well, I got in touch with them -- over the above issue -- via their online Contact Us template, and then got a reply within 48 hours asking for further details and providing a direct email address. That was very reassuring: both the speed of reply and being able to get in touch with Otel.com directly. However, the main reason I have to praise Otel.com is that I have booked 3-4 holidays with them in the last six months and, with their frequent voucher discounts, I have saved so much money. At the end of the day, so long as I can trust the travel website, then I won't exclusively use one particular website: not Otel.com, not Expedia.co.uk, not any one website; rather, if they're trustworthy, then so long as they're the best on price, then I'll go with them. So far, Otel.com has been super-competitive on price and this is why I have used them. On this basis and on their speedy reply to a recent issue, I cannot fault them and would use them again without hesitation.
I booked several times hotel trough otel.com and your company wasn't able to secure my booking. Even until now I couldn't get back my money which otel.com already deducted from my credit card. I called several times to your service center and all the times they mentioned to me (we will check and revert to you soon) but I never received any answer yet. Please let me know what I should do. Be very very careful booking from this website. In my case they advertised one hotel but the reservation confirmation was for another lower profile cheap hotel from the same chain. Firstly the customer service guy tried to persuade me the hotel listed in the confirmation is the same one I wanted, then after realising they made a mistake on the website blamed me for misreading the advert and refused to refund in full. Next day the issue on the website was fixed and still they don't accept there was an issue. Can clearly see it on google chached pages though... The cancellation policy said I could cancel by 25 Feb when the booking was made on 27th leaving me negative amount of days to cancel... RUBBISH! Still can't get my money back!
I highly recommend this online service. Their prices are very reasonable, I have never had any problems with making reservations or having any problems on arrival at my destination. Their hotel descriptions are accurate as well as the ratings given to the hotels. I will definitely use their services again and would recommend them and indeed have to others.
I have used Otel.com for many years. I have traveled all over the world and never experienced a problem. Book with them, turn up and hand over the printed coupon: instant recognition and no problems. A good company. I recommend.
Good prices most of the time. Some times GREAT prices. Unfortunately limited hotel choices. The only down side is ,there maybe a problem if you book for someone that is not the credit card holder you are using. In that case you have to call customer service. Keep in mind that the side Otel.com recognizes your location from the your IP address at the time of the booking and you will receive totally different pricing for the same booking, depending where in the world you are located at the time of the booking, even though you are using your own account. I am very happy so far and have been using Otel.com for more than 6 years. Never had any problems with my reservations in any part of the World.
