I ordered a Berghaus jacket, (very expensive) which their website described as in stock and next day delivery. After a few emails and long phone calls I was told two days later that I would have to pay £6.44 extra to have it delivered 2 days late!!! I had to pay to get the jacket for a planned trip that weekend and have since tried to get that illegal charge refunded... guess what... no one answers any emails even though they are addressed for the attention of the Managing Director/CEO. I strongly advise you to find a reputable company if you want a reliable outdoor clothing purchase. I will now organise a refund through my Visa company and never use this disreputable gang again.
I placed an order on their website as it stated that the goods I wanted were in stock.
I then received an email telling me that they were waiting for one of the two items from a supplier. Why does their website state it is in stock then if it isn't?
A week later they have not received the item so simply post me the one item they have in stock. I called them to order a substitute as again their website tells me it is in stock, only to be told it is not. I don't rate this company if what appears to be a "live" website is inaccurate, if you want your goods, go elsewhere.
I found my first contact , with this company , an easy experience . i found them very easy to deal with . I had rang them to place my order , as I wanted it to be delivered on the Thurs rather than on the Weds ( as I would not have been available to receive it on the weds , and I was placing the order on the Mon , but after 1pm which means the order would have been processed on the Tues and Delivered on the Weds !)
As promised it arrive on the Thurs morning . I would give this company a ten out of ten score and will not hesitate to order from them again .
Great website that it very simple to navigate, very helpfully on the phone and the product that we bought was about £20 cheaper than anywhere else plus next day delivery. You couldn't ask for more.
I am pleased with the product, price and speed of delivery of my Gelert Cabana 4 from Outdoor Mania. It was the lowest price for this particular tent that I could find on the internet from an authentic supplier and it has arrived quickly and as described. I ordered the tent on Tuesday evening, and it has just arrived (11.30am Thursday). Thank you Outdoor Mania...I will buy from you again!
I ordered a tent from these guys which stated in stock and free next day delivery. 4 days later, no tent, and no confirmation of dispatch. I sent them an email as it says on their website, only to receive a message back saying that the email couldnt be delivered due to 'quota full' (whatever that is). So rang them up, went through the usual ridiculous automated telephone service, then waited 5 minutes on hold. Got through to the customer services, who said that they were waiting for their stock to arrive! Why then does it say 'in stock - next day delivery' on the website? Oh, they answered, its not an automated stock system! Complete rubbish. They also claimed to have sent me an email 2 days ago saying it was delayed, but I didn't receive anything from them. Has left me in a situation as I need it for 2 days time. Have returned to the usually trusty Amazon, and paid a bit more for next day delivery. I wont be using this company again, and i don't recommend you do either.
I have always admired the Cabana 4 from a distance, until I saw the price reductions on your web site. Not got round to using it yet but that will be put right very soon. Can't wait, just know I'm going to love it. I just love tents that are that bit different & this one looks like its a jousting competitors tent from the middle ages. I now have to just work out a way to get it on my motor bike, could leave the wife behind & put it on the back seat but I don't think she'll go for that & I have to sleep when I come home, so I'll work something out. I compared prices between websites and found outdoormania to be competitive with other suppliers. I found what I was looking for in the shape of an event shelter and proceeded to the check out. The process of ordering and paying was simple with a confirmation email arriving virtually strait away. I received a further email confirming that my order had been dispatched and a tracking number. This was not needed as the package arrived the following day. one very satisfied customer who would definitely use outdoormania again. Thank you!!
I ordered a tent from outdoormania late last Thursday with next day delivery. Hadn't heard anything by Tuesday so called and spoke to Amanda, who informed me that I should have received confirmation of a delay, but they were expecting stock the following day and she would duly call me in the afternoon. Amanda called, confirmed stock and delivery, plus included the tracking details via email afterwards. I also found the missing email in my junk folder- thanks hotmail!
I purchased the tent because I had done much research and Outdoormania was the most competitive. Based on my experience as a customer post the website purchase, I would highly recommend Outdoormania.
I was looking for some Merrell sandals - in a hurry because as usual I needed them NOW! The official website was out of stock as were all the major retailers I looked at. I stumbled on outdoormania and was a little concerned as I had never heard of them before but really wanted the sandals! So I decided to just do it especially when I saw they were over £10 cheaper than the RRP. Two days later the sandals arrived. quite honestly it was one of the easiest, most efficient shopping experiences I have ever had. I will definitely use outdoormania again.
Keep this short. Ordered a jacket, didn't fit, my bad, called them, got straight through, advised of correct size. sent me another jacket. That one arrived next day. Very courteous phone operations and email showing tracking and despatch details as good as I've used. Fabulous service and next day delivery. Great.
Had a few reservations when the "item despatched" email came through at 3.20am on a Sunday morning, but by Monday afternoon the product had been delivered, and was in perfect order. We would recommend this company to anyone. Very happy with the product and service.
Needed a new Regatta fleece as my favourite one has holes in from burning pruning debris - don't wear a fleece near an open fire!! Found just what I wanted at Outdoormania - and at a terrific price. Sent by return and wearing at this minute.....great service.
I have just ordered and received a Gelert Rocky 3 tent and double sleeping bag for our son. The shopping experience was fab, quick and easy. Product descriptions were accurate and detailed enough to get a real feel for the products, dimensions and weights too.
The tent was so easy to assemble and both the tent and sleeping bag pack away again into very small bags ( yes they fitted back in!!)
All in all I would recommend this site and these products.
I ordered walking poles just before going on holiday but they arrived promptly, when promised. The tracking helped to re-assure me. When one part of the order was slightly damaged they immediately offered to replace it.
That level of service sets them poles apart from many retailers.
I must admit, after reading several reviews on here, I was very sceptical about ordering off this lot. However as there were some good reviews, and there price was the best I could find, I did order. And I have to say I am glad that I did! There service was superb. I rang first to check them out, got straight through and was given some good advice on what to buy (even saving me a few more pounds). The parcel with the jacket and pants turned up next day and it fitted perfectly thanks to the advice I was given. The telephone operator was very polite and courteous and the goods have been brilliant. My only slight negative was the packaging that the good came in, though everything else was so good, I have to give them five stars.
Ordered items from OutdoorMania and a week later they had not arrived and had no confirmation of them being dispatched. Was on hold for over 1 hour 15 minutes before giving up and sending a mail to cancel the order. Items arrived the day we got home and now I have to pay over £5.00 to return and still can't get in touch with them.
Maybe they make their money from making people wait hours on the complaints line which they charge for?
Stay clear of this company - just not worth the hassle.
Part of my order arrived without problems within 3 days but 1 item was outstanding. I was not told if or when it was coming, so I sent an email with no response. Holiday approaching and desperate for information, I telephoned and was held in a queue of 4 people for 49 mins, now furious, I was told, "Sorry, I don't know why you were waiting so long, I only had one other person waiting". I asked for £2 off my order as a gesture of good will towards my telephone bill but "that's not our policy". The item didn't arrive when they said it would, so I sent another email; no reply in 24 hours so I telephoned but they were closed due to snow. Strangely though, I got an email about 30mins later saying my item was no longer in stock. We're off skiing tomorrow and my son has no ski pants.... and Outdoormania will not have my business again. Oh Yes, and there's no mention of when I will be credited, so I guess that'll be another problem. Should have known by the logo.
I have had a mixed experience, part of my order arrived promptly and 5 star but another part was "to follow". I then endured the phone system to cancel on the basis of the reviews out there. On getting through and talking to customer services they admitted that they did not have enough stock to fulfill my order but could part fulfill the remainder which I opted to do, cancelling that bit they could not honour. My view is that for understandable cashflow reasons they do not hold a lot of stock and therefore can get caught short when they then need to get stock from suppliers. If I am right then they at worst need to beef up their customer services and information from their suppliers. I have sympathy given the current economic environment but bad reviews may kill them off.......
Absolutely terrible experience, worst I have had on the Internet shopping! Definitely one to avoid. To cut a long story short....
- ordered a jacket and gloves, for delivery 1-3 days for a skiing trip.
- 1 week later, no delivery and no communication from outdoor mania (their phone service is a waste of time, took over 40mins to get through).
- cancelled order after 10 days of ordering as no sign of my goods arriving!
- a week after cancelling the goods arrive! But I had already brought elsewhere!
- emailed them but still no response 2 weeks on!

This is the first review i've ever written but felt compelled to write it after reading so many bad reviews!
The ski jacket I ordered was £60 less with outdoor mania than any other website I looked at and it arrived within 3-5 working days as promised.
I was so concerned,after reading all of the other reviews, that it wouldn't arrive that I even called my bank to try and cancel the payment! Needless to say I shouldn't have worried!
I do agree that emails don't get responded to as I sent one enquiring about my order after reding so many poor reviews but, that aside, I would fully recommend this company!
I am sitting waiting to get a response from their phone queuing system - 35 minutes in and getting VERY frustrated. No response to my three emails chasing an order placed 11 days ago. Irrespective of the outcome of this call (and I am not hopeful) I will be getting my Credit Card company to obtain a full refund and I will be contacting Trading Standards. I suggest any other customer with similar issues does likewise......
Avoid this company at all costs. The customer service that they provide is truly appalling. I didn't ever receive the goods that I ordered and when I, eventually, managed to get a refund from OutdoorMania they had the cheek to deduct the cost of p&p!! They never answered any of the numerous emails that I sent them even though according to their website this is their preferred means of communication. I was therefore forced to use their abysmal 0844 phone service on which I was left queueing for almost an hour on each occasion that I used it. This ended up costing me several pounds in phone bills.
I have never reviewed any company before but this company and it's appalling customer service has pressed all the wrong buttons! I so wish that I had read reviews before I had been lured by the attractive prices. You don't get anything for nothing and that somes this company up. Although the most damage done is a loss of about £25 from a pair of 'missing' ski trousers it is the principle of the matter that counts - they never communicate with emails and instead your are forced to spend hours queuing to talk to them on the phone. If they decide to resolve this issue promptly - I shall review my comments
Please do not order anything from this company. We ordered over £400.00 worth of ski clothing expecting to have it dispatched within a few days. We tried to phone the company several times to determine when our order was due to be dispatched. Over several phone calls at an hour each time and still no luck to speak to an operator. After several emails requesting to cancel this order and trying to cancel my credit card payment, I have been informed today that goods have been dispatched. Too late as we go skiing tomorrow. Now I have to fight to get a refund for goods we cancelled over a week ago and also request my credit card company to take legal action.
I would recommend that you stay away from this company!!!!
I placed an order on Dec 30th for a pair of Merrell walking shoes. I sent an enquiry email on Jan 4th after my order was still "awaiting allocation" and had no response. After calling their premium 0844 number and being on hold for over 40 minutes only to be cut off at being number 4 in queue, I sent another email on the 9th and yet again got no reply. I still had heard no word by the 13th and emailed them again to cancel my order. Today I managed to get through on the phone despite calling at 10am on the dot (when their 2p a minute phone line opens) and I was 4th in line.... After another 40 minutes I eventually managed to cancel my order successfully. This company are a joke. They don't appear to give a toss about customer service and even if they are slightly cheaper it's less hassle to shop elsewhere. Outdoormania you are a disgrace!!!
Not impressed at all. Ordered a gilet and it said was in stock for next day delivery. 1 week later, no updates and I'm wondering where it is...receive an email saying 'order cancelled- out of stock'. Why would this take 8 days to tell me? Disgusting.
Do not believe the in stock next day delivery. It will say in stock next day delivery but they don't know. To quote the customer service rep (after waiting 45 minutes) its not a live stock system. I would say that they also have a max of 1 person to sort out the inevitable mess this causes. Based on the 45 min wait being 4th in line to start with
I placed an order on 4th Dec 2012 for a pair of boots and a pair of gloves. They were supposed to be Christmas presents.
Hadn't heard anything from them so sent them an email on 14th Dec 2012 to find out the progress of the order.
Heard nothing, no response from them at all.
I then sent a complaint email on 27th Dec stating that I was very disappointed that the gifts had not arrived in time for Christmas. I stated that we still wanted the goods so if they could get them to us by 5th Jan then I would be happy with that but if not that I would cancel the order.
They then sent me an email today 30th Dec 2012 (the first response to any of my emails) cancelling the order themselves.
They didn't apologize for wasting my time or even try to rectify the issue.
I would not recommend this company to anyone, please avoid skimania also trading under www.letshike.co.uk which is who I ordered from.
terrible terrible service, i was sent the wrong size shoe but somehow this was my fault, apparently I have to pay the postage to return them also even though my original order had the correct size on it, trying to get to speak to a person is a joke and when you do you just get excuse after excuse, i was promised a refund straight away but after 4 days still waiting. the refund i am sure will not have the price of the return postage
Ordered on the 4/12/12 Still haven't received any dispatch confirmation and they have not responded to any of my 3 e-mails sent just asking were my order is, also called them on there automotive phone system number 1 in the queue for 30 Mins? then I was hung up on once answered. Ordered a Helly Hensen base layer which I have now purchased else where and received in good order! Nightmare how customers can be discarded once the purchase has been made. RUBBISH!! Now in the process of trying to get refund, fingers crossed...
