A truly positive retail experience.

Their prices are, for the most part, significantly lower than elsewhere and are very competitive. I first contacted OutdoorWorldDirect to check stock availability and to ask questions about some products. Their staff were really helpful. We’ve had four deliveries from OWD and all have been free and have still arrived really quickly. Both OWD and DPD (who have made the deliveries) have kept me fully informed about the progress of the delivery both by text and email. All packages have arrived at the start of the one hour time slot given. The packaging has been good with fragile items clearly marked as such. Everything has arrived safely. We found manufacturing defects with two Campingaz products but OWD graciously replaced them really quickly and with absolutely minimum fuss for us. OWD are an ethical company in my opinion.

My partner and I wanted this summer to be able to take the kids off for a week or two camping, when we checked the tent that we had we were shocked to find that it was no where near big enough for our needs as we have 5 children aged from 3 to 13. So we went about looking in great depth for a new tent. My partner, who incidentally loves spending my money found the Outwell Yosemite, which was great until I noticed the price, thankfully I managed to convince her that there are other tents out there... Eventually all three of us, all three being myself, partner and my wallet agreed that the Outwell Vermont XLP package with footprint, carpet and awning at a round a £1000 less would be a more viable option. Here is where the hunt started, and I have to say that Outdoor world direct has to be all round the most competitive on price across all their range not just tents but equipment too. I placed my order without any hitch, and was astounded to find in my e-mail box it was being dispatched on the same day, due to nil stocks then even arranged for a third party at a cost to themselves to supply us with the footprint which arrived on the following day, with no delivery cost for any of it at all.... for yes next day delivery at no cost at all. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone wishing to buy from, and hope that your experience was a smooth and seamless as mine.

First class service from a first class team.

My requirements were I wanted to purchase a Vango Omega Tent and could not decide between the 600Xl or 450XL. For a number of weeks I had tried different suppliers to see if they had either tent on display to no avail. On line I spotted Outdoor World as I live close by I called in at their warehouse, even though I had not called ahead they made me very welcome. They had the tents in stock but do not have facilities to have them on display. I explained I would like to see the tent up before purchase. They cleared an available room and put the tent up for me. The tent fitted my requirements and I made the purchase. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, they supplied me a lot of advice and very nice cup of coffee. I also expressed and interest in a vango camp bed and one was brought from the ware house to try - but on the advice of the staff they recommended the XL model but they did not have this in stock. They have taken my contact details and they will call me when they are delivered. I would recommend Outdoor World for their caring personal service, nothing is too much trouble for them and it's a pleasure to do business with a company who will go out of their way to help and assist the customer. Thank you.

Excellent service. Items exactly as described on site. Dispatched as indicated at time of purchase. Delivery service was fully informative & offered additional options once booked via text message (leave with a neighbour option). Updated on day of delivery with estimated time of delivery slot of one hour & then confirmed when delivered & with which neighbour. Cannot speak highly enough of the level of service received. Efficient and reliable service - would recommend and buy again.

Bought a sleeping bag and found it had a tear a few inches log along a seam at the head near the zip. Didn't think it was worth the hassle to send back though. A friend has offered to sew it up for me. Not sure how that got passed any sort of quality inspection, but all in all a good product for a decent price, and I'm not offended enough to not buy again or leave a negative review. Delivery was faster than expected, about 2 working days I think.

I contacted Outdoor World Direct to confirm stock availability before committing to a large purchase. The representative was very polite and informative and gave me the choice to complete the transaction over the telephone or take time to decide and complete online. I completed my transaction online which was painless and i received regular updates regarding delivery of my order. The order was upgraded to next day delivery and it arrived on time and undamaged. Fast delivery and as described .

I bought this sleeping bag for my son to go camping . I already have 3 others , which is why I choose this particular one, they are quite simply perfect, warm, comfortable , spacious and great for the British camping weather. Only slight down side is they take up quite a lot of room in the car or storing but definitely worth it !

This was the best price I could find online and everything was processed very quickly. Outdoor World and the couriers (DPD) kept me updated every step of the way.

My Order was placed on 7 May 2013 4.09pm and I was advised that it would be delivered on 9th May between 10:42-11:42am, It arrived at 10.43am!!

Bought Vango Astoria 800 tent in deal, with footprint, carpet and canopy. Great deal - big service. Tent ordered Sunday Evenin, delivered Wed afternoon. All arrived well packaged and in good condition. Can't fault service at all.

Excellent service, prompt delivery,

We ordered on the saturday of a bank holiday weekend and after checking with the customer service department who they would be sending it with (we were trying to avoid using DPD as we have lost a few parcels, as they keep delivering to the wrong address).
I spoke to David in the customer service team who added a note to the DPD delivery note and also contacted the delivery centre so they could call the driver.
sure enough we got our parcel delivered to our address (admittedly from a grumpy looking driver), on the Tuesday morning.
Excellent prices great service, would recommend to my friends and look forward to ordering from them again.

I contacted them to find out if they sold the lamps for my Retro Colman lantern, although they did not sell them they actually found one for me, I decided to check through their special offers and snapped up some fantastic bargains, all top quality named brands. The person on the end of the phone was really helpful and advised me on loads of things, I wasn't sure about. Then spot on, the next day everything arrived well packaged. That will do for me they are my first call for anything outdoors I need, I highly recommend that you try them yourselves, I am sure you will be pleased with the result.

A great service from ease of ordering to excellent delivery service. Cheapest price for product ordered compared to other outdoor stores Update on progress of parcel and a 1 hour time slot for delivery on day was great as we work full time so could arrange to be at home between the time stated. All round a great service.

Best I've ever dealt with!!!

A rare find these days, unlike some nothing is too much for these guys, absolutely suberb. Most companies these days are all about getting £££'s from you but this company is different, a genuine customer service orientated company. Prompt service and good prices. Would definately use again. Just read the other reviews if you still have any doubts...

OutdoorWorldDirect 5 star, delivery company 3 star.

I ordered a self inflating mat (which is superb!) from Outdoor World Direct on a standard delivery so was expected to receive the goods in 3-5 days. I was pleased to have contact saying it was due for delivery within 2 days. This is where it went wrong - DPD made multiple changes in delivery and resulted in 20 odd texts, plus on checking the tracking it also said I had refused the item! - However this is where Outdoor World Direct excelled in their customer relations. I emailed my issue to them in the evening and had a call and email the next morning stating the resolution, they then followed the order through to delivery.
I my opinion it's rare to feel a valued customer with online transactions and this counts.
