I paid for next day delivery. Waited in all day yesterday. Had text to say parcel would be delivered in 90 minutes. Tracking said I was carded at 17:44 last night. No card, no attempted delivery. Called this morning and was told to go and pick it up from the depot - 'it's not that far from Banstead to Mitcham'. What an amazing comment from a 'courier' company. Disgusting.
So i sold an item on ebay that was metal and had a delicate paintwork and i agreed to send the item to the buyer. I wrapped the item in copious amounts of bubble wrap and thick cardboard to protect it. I then sent it with parcel force 48 for the small fortune of £16, from my local post office which seems to be the most useless place in the world with slow and rude staff that obviously are not happy and do not know the value of customer service. I then 2 days later get a call from the buyer (fair enough parcel force had delivered on time) telling me that the parcel was smashed and the item damaged. So after refunding the buyer around half of the values item and postage fees i submitted a claim to parcel force on their very out of date claims site to complain about how although the parcel was well wrapped and had fragile written all over it. They were however surprisingly efficient at this stage of the process and within 8 days had quized both me and the buyer about the package and sent me a cheque to cover the postage and damage. In short: Negatives - The staff at the sending office were rude and unhelpful and poorly trained - The attention they paid to the fact my parcel was fragile was pathetic - The website and claims system is out of date and needs to be all a bit smoother
Positives - The Claims team were extremely efficient and helpful - I received compensation for my parcel - The parcel as promised arrived on time
Advice: Always always buy enhanced compensation with whatever you are sending, not worth running the risk because although you think it will never happen, it does, so make sure you are covered! If you are sending something fragile look for a specialised courier and pay the extra price.
Appalling service, I am engaged in a venture which necessitates the regular postage of time bound parcels. Unfortunately I used this awful company as a pilot consignment, I paid for the 48 hour service at the cost of approximately £23.00p.
The parcel in question arrived 4 days late, Parcelforce provided an incredible excuse for their incompetence and despite receiving the Parcelforce 144 Service (144 hour or thereabouts delivery time) after paying for the 48 hour service, Parcelforce would only reimburse 25% of my postage costs.
The staff at the Customer Service Team were unsympathetic and unhelpful and I would urge potential customers to use other companies such as FEDEX etc for any parcel consignments.
Unfortunately this site will not permit me to leave a zero star rating.
I ORDERED ONLINE FROM A COMPANY WHO USED PARCEL FORCE FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY , I ORDERED MY PRODUCT ON THURSDAY EXPECTED FRIDAY. I WAITED HOME ALL DAY FOR THE DELIVERY ON FRIDAY , BY 5PM THE PARCEL STILL HAD NO'T ARRIVED. I CHECKED ON THE COMPANIES TRACKING SERVICE ONLINE FOR AN UPDATE AND THE TRACKING STATUS SAID THE PARCEL WAS NOW HELD AT A POST OFFICE, NO ADDRESS OF THE POST OFFICE WAS GIVEN AND NO REASON AS TO WHY IT WAS DELIVERED THERE. I THEN CALLED THE LOCAL DEPOT AND THEY SAID THE DRIVER SENT IT TO A POST OFFICE THAT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MY HOUSE AND WHEN I ASKED WHY THEY DID NOT DELIVER IT THEY TOLD ME THE DRIVER MUST HAVE KNOCKED QUIETLY , I SAID IF THAT IS TRUE WHY DIDN'T HE LEAVE A CARD TO SAY HE HAS BEEN, WHICH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DID NOT ANSWER, FURTHER MORE MY HOME HAS A VERY LOAD DOOR BELL, MY LIVING ROOM IS AT THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE SO I WOULD HAVE SEEN THE DRIVER COME TO MY HOUSE, THE TRUTH WAS, HE NEVER CAME TO MY HOUSE, I DIDNT LEAVE MY HOUSE THAT DAY AND EVERYONE WHO CAME TO MY HOUSE I HEARD , IT IS CLEAR TO ME THE DRIVER JUST DECIDED TO SEND MY PARCEL TO A POST OFFICE THAT WAS FAR FROM MY HOME, THERE IS A POST OFFICE AT THE BOTTOM OF MY ROAD AS WELL IF HE REALLY DID COME TO MY HOME HE WOULD HAVE USED THAT POST OFFICE, THE COMPANY IS A JOKE, AND I WILL NOT USE A COMPANY WHO USES PARCEL FORCE AGAIN, I DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WHEN I USE ROYAL MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY. I ADVICE DO NOT USE THEM
i ordered an item from a company, the order i paid was to use next day delivery for the saturday, i checked the tracking, it left dunfermline, fife on the friday and instead of coming direct to me, 15 miles away , it went down to coventry and now have been informed will be tuesday before it arrives, so this is 2nd xlass not next day delivery,
also why oh why go 200 miles to there central hub when im only 15 miles from where it was posted
Parcel Force had to deliver my parcel in 24h. They had it loaded in the truck ready for deliver on Friday but they didn´t bring it on Saturday. After to spend all my telephone credit and 4 calls I managed to speak with an operator. She said that I had to pay almost 15 pounds extra if I wanted it on Saturday. They offered me to bring it on Monday. I informed them that I wouldn´t be at home because I had to work so they said I could collect my parcel in the post office. When I went in the post office they said that they didn´t have any parcel for me. I called, again, and they said that they tried to deliver my parcel at my but I wasn´t there (of course, I was working and they already knew it) I asked them why they didn´t leave my parcel in the post office and they answered because it was very heavy! This company is a mess, the operators are rude and they don´t care about customers.
Parcelforce used for a collection from the company I bought from. They booked collection for the day after I asked and I got a choice of AM or PM whereas I know from experience some don't give you anything or even a day. it would be handy if drop offs could be done byt he same driver but understand complex of logistics!
This is now the fourth occasion when Parcelforce were supposed to deliver a package to us and have said they have attempted delivery yet we have had nothing posted through the door to say we had missed them, I have had to track the parcel down myself and low and behold they have dumped it at the post office again for us to collect. They obviously can't be bothered to try and find our property so it is easier for them just to leave it. I have just had to bundle my poorly child into the car in the snow and cold to go and collect a very important package. Avoid Parcelforce at all costs. Rubbish.
This is what happened just this previous week: If you want to know what all this negative comment all about you need to read this! Take the time. The tracking starts from the bottom and the final destination can be seen on the top (its important).
This is the actual FACEBOOK conversation I had with PFW; (Truspilot edit: since nobody answered their official query lines either on the phone or in wiring)
"my parcel has been everywhere in england now except at my door. look: (Trustpilot edit: watch how I mentioned here that item was never at MY DOOR)

wonder if it ever gonna get here. I mean delivering something to ones door is such a task only few can tackle. Parcel Force is not one of them. Like · · January 21 at 11:46pm near Southampton · Top Comments

Parcelforce Worldwide I have checked the tracking and this item was delivered on the 21/01/14 signed "R SEVERN" . Thanks - Vicky PFW Like · 31 minutes ago
V***** K**** Is that mean that it has been returned to the sender? Or that it has been delivered to a complete stranger to a different address in Nottingham signed by a complete stranger? Who is R Severn represents here? Like · 22 minutes ago
Parcelforce Worldwide Hiya, It was deliverd to the address that you sent it too, so I presume that " R Severn" is the person from the company that accepted the delivery. Vicky PFW Like · 19 minutes ago
V***** K**** I am not the Sender. I thought this was clear. It has gone back to the same depo it started out from. If this is the person who sent it in the first place (to me) than it has gone back to the Sender. This item has never been at my door. Like · 15 minutes ago
Parcelforce Worldwide OK, V*****, the item has been retuned to the sender to the address where it came from. Thanks - Vicky PFW Like · about a minute ago"
I am a mature student in the final year of my degree. I worked hard to get here and saved up all my own money to fund my studies. As such, money is always tight.
I sold a laptop on eBay, it was won, paid for, and I wrapped and shipped it. When it arrives at the buyer's house, the screen is broken. Almost unuseable. I wrapped that laptop exactly as I received it when I bought it. DPD delivered it to me exactly as I sent it, no damage. But Parcelforce will not uphold the claim. Apparently the packing material that DPD delivered it in without breaking it is not sufficient for them to not break it.
So now, I'm out the £205 I sold the laptop for, and now because I have to refund it, plus pay ebay sellers fees and paypal fees, I am down an extra £50. Without wanting to exagerate, its actually going to be difficult to complete my studies this ter without that money.
On December 15 2013, my daughter sent me a present. Today it is 18th January 2014 and I still have not received it. We have been told a pack of lies by employees of Parcelforce. My daughter tracked it - it was at the Leicester depot. I used the automatic system to track it by phone- I was given a re-delivery date. The parcel did not arrive. We visited the Leicester depot. The manager expressed his disgust , blamed the delivery driver for being unable to find the property. There are only 2 properties on the postcode. It was now in Coventry. The manager guaranteed delivery on the next day or day after. We waited. The parcel did not arrive. We rang his mobile number. He did not answer. What a surprise! We continued to ring him and were told 5 days later that the driver was close by and we would receive the parcel within the hour. He was ringing the driver personally so he could guarantee delivery. 8 hours later the driver rang. He was at the gate. We collected the parcel from him. It was another parcel sent 10days previously by the 24hours guaranteed service . The manager had not rung. The next day we returned to the Leicester depot.By then, my daughter had been told it had been delivered by the Area Manager in Yorkshire. But the Leicester Manager told us that it was still in Coventry. That was last Thursday. He had the blatant cheek to tell us that Parcelforce is the best delivery service in the UK. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
Why is it that every other courier service never failed to deliver and they have on several occasions? I paid 10 pounds for their " guaranteed next day delivery" ( no other courier option available with the vendor ) so I waited till 3:30 pm for their driver to put it as a failed delivery due to "insufficient address". In other words the dude couldn't find my flat! Called their depot and they told me that they were gonna contact their driver with the "updated info" and "hopefully" he would deliver on the day. Alas, 40 minutes later when I called again they told me that he got the message but he was returning to the depot. They refused Saturday delivery unless I paid them another 12 pounds and at the end I had to travel myself to their depot at 6 pm several miles from my house to collect it myself. Marvelous stuff. Of course no word about compensating me because their driver already attempted a delivery ( huh? ) Their excuse was that my door didn't have a number - the driver didn't know that every house has two numbers, he saw number 10 next door, and figured that the street numbers ended in 11 so there was no 12. Aren't they supposed to know such things? I live on the corner of a busy, easily accessible street and their driver is one of their most experienced ones, they say. You're uncertain? just knock on the door or at least leave a card... Their driver was too proud to do either these things because he had it all figured out, "there is no no 12" !! Now he's gonna get paid for something I collected myself . In all, out of all courier companies they are the ones who always fail to not disappoint.
24 Hour delivery service. Really!? Strange 24 hours that. All three days of it! No information available online and no answer at the depot. When you call the tracking line, you're unable to speak to a human being and the automated message waffles on for about 10 minutes about how great their online services are, rather than actually trying to help you. It's like dealing with Vogons! Never, ever again. I have no idea how a company like this is still in business these days. They won't get anymore of mine, that's for sure!
I've been expecting several parcels this week, 2 of them by parcel force. Haven't received anything but wasn't panicking, just decided to check the tracking and see where they were. The first one stated it was delivered yesterday, and signed for by someone I've never heard of, because they couldn't find my house (Funny as they've delivered a lot of parcels here in the past) so I contacted them as I hadn't even received a card through the door. They said it had been left at my local post office. I'm ill so my mum had to go and try to retrieve it with no card, just the tracking print out from the computer. It wasn't even at the local post office but one further away who told us that they regularly get a load of parcels from our delivery guy and that we were "lucky i didn't end up in the canal" as he's been known to do that...WHY DOES HE STILL HAVE A JOB??!! Anyway we sorted that and my mum filed a complaint for me. That was this morning. This afternoon I decide to check tracking on my other parcel who was also being couriered by parcel force. The tracking stated it had been delivered just 10 minutes earlier. Now we have 2 very yappy terriers who go mental the minute anyone comes near our front gate. Hadn't heard a peep from them, myself and my sister had been in the living room all afternoon and seen/heard nothing and again no card. Contacted them who phoned the driver. Because it was a "No Signature Required" parcel he figured it was fine to dump the parcel by my house and not do/say anything. Haven't found the parcel and an hour on from phoning them I'm STILL waiting for the driver to return and find it for me! We've had instances where they've just dumped parcels by our front door without knocking or leaving a card and that's bad enough but this reaches a new low!
I just got delivered a pair of expensive studio speakers, i live on a second floor flat and just woke up after a night shift so he had to carry them up for me, i didnt even had time to get dressed. I heard him pushind the boxes and he actually dropped one of them... its says fragile all over the box!!! Its only 9kg per box so its not like their too heavy or anything he just got pissed of cuz he had to carry them up the stairs.
With a company known online as 'Parcelfarce' I avoid them like the plague- and with good reason! Recently we have had a few returns due to other courierS damage with my sales of Gaming PCs through eBay. Returns are given 'free' labels by eBay and returned at eBay cost. This is where it goes very-very wrong.
We now have three utterly destroyed parcels, I mean small pieces, the type of damage I'd be hard pushed to cause with the afternoon off and a sledgehammer. The delivery guy handed over a box of clanking shifting scrap without the whiff of an embarrassed look and told me I cant refuse it because- I quote: “I'll be fu@ked if I'm taking back to the depot, just le' me do ma' job.” Quaint.
When you try to open a compensation case online, you're told as an eBay seller (regarding returns) you are both the sender AND the recipient. Huh? In the eyes of Parcelforce, you sent the item originally to the buyer, so even though it's being returned by a stranger you actually have sent it. Yep I kid you not. OK, it's the policy so lets go... Ah, but the website claim form asks for info only the buyer would have: sending Post Office, cost, date sent etc, so now what? This issue took 9 MONTHS of communication (if you can call it that) going right up the chain to the Executive Office, you see no one actually tells Parcelforce workforce that the eBay sender/recipient arrangement even exists, so Post Offices say that's a lie, the customer helpline (that turned out to be a grumpy old bloke who made the mistake of answering the phone in the sorting warehouse) had no idea what I was talking about, and the Executive Office all thought 'the other guy' had picked up my emails so took 9 Months to respond. At an email per week, so almost 40 emails 'picked up by the other guy' seems a bit stupid. Hmmmm.
The icing on the cake though, is that the labels offer no compensation in the case of damage more than the 'nod of £50, each item was £300 originally, so that's quite a shortfall. Then they ignore the fact that noone knows of the eBay free label arrangement, and the incompetence of their own EO (and the 9 month reply) and refuse even the £50 claim because you didn't claim soon enough. Huh?
In conclusion: I wouldn't trust a bag of spanners to these incompetent, rude, confused, disorganised and backward con-artists, if every other courier service all caught the plague and died in the week I needed to send something- I'd rather walk 100 miles across hot coals, and hop-scotch on broken vinegar bottles with my face.
