Part checked located and purchased through parts gateway. However, when part arrived it was a textured bumper, not a primed. cost for primed including VAT and Carriage £241. Cost of textured £99 plus VAT, I organised and paid Carriage as they could not deliver to northern Ireland. E mail Photo's to prove wrong part, they agreed, but could do nothing as boss was off! Told them i could work with bumper as none available in primed, but was going to cost me extra. They can't do anything boss is off. they eventually offer me £30 back, NOT GOOD ENOUGH. went to £30 for Carriage and £40. I explained there original Quote Was £99 plus VAT I should only be paying £118 Less extra work costs. advised that it was available for collection and I would accept the correct one in its place. they wanted me to pay carriage on way back for the mistake. Got fed up with them agreed £100 credit , which still means i paying over the original quote by £23 plus extra work, 10 days ago. still waiting for money to go into my account.I am totally disgusted. will never use car and van parts direct again, I have tried to be easy going and nice about this as mistakes happen, but to no avail, next steps consumer protection agency, solicitor, I have the Quotes, pictures and contacts.
A lot cheaper than buying new (obviously) but one or two of the items look as if they've been rolling around in the mud for a while before sending them to me. Generally, a very good experience. I've used these companies on quite a few occasions and saved a fortune.
I was in need of two new wheels for my BMW and was recommended to use Parts Gateway. Complete a simple enquiry form and emailed to me were over 10 possible suppliers. Will definitely use this service again.
Parts Gateway were able to locate a clip for a Clio headlight for £18 within a few minutes of my request. These are not available to purchase as a spare part from a dealer. The alternative would have been to have a new headlight fitted at over £200.
A problem occurred with the ability to open the boot on my wife's Ford KA. On the web I found Parts Gateway and its guarantee of rapid location of any needed part. The firm found several relevant companies selling quality second hand parts, and one of these was able to locate and send me exactly the part I needed, next day and at a reasonable price.
Parts gateway makes life easy when searching for second hand (green) parts. Quotes come back almost immediately sometimes although it is always worth while waiting for all suppliers to respond as the last one can be the best. I always phone and ask for an image of the part to be sent to me so that I can get some idea of the condition. I work for a bodyshop and I have been supplied panels that are unusable, (minor repairs are expected). If I am not satisfied with the part it can be a lot of hard work getting your money back and on several occasions I have lost out. This also gives me an idea of the quality of service of the supplier as some respond quickly and some do not respond at all. To sum up, the parts gateway is a very useful tool but once used for part searches communication with suppliers I feel is very important to ensure you receive a good level of service.
