This is a company that, unless you follow their exact line, will screw you over without batting an eyelid.
I expect they spent more money formulating their T's &C's than you or I will earn in a lifetime of work. The result is basically if you ever have an issue with them... They win. They want to collect all your information, if you refuse any of it: you lose. If you don't reveal your IP address for each and every interaction: you lose. You trust them with your money: you will probably lose eventually. Conveniently (for them) there was nothing wrong with my account until there was a few hundred pounds in it, I attempt to send it to my bank account, I click send and BAM, account suspended.
You email them through the address they provide to voice your grievance: automatic robot response telling you they'd "rather" discuss it over the phone (if that's the case then say that in the first place!!). Well I'd rather not be in a situation where I'm having to fight to access money that is my own (!) but apparently we can't all get what we want.
If you must use (which let's be honest, sometimes you do), use with caution. Don't leave any money in there that you don't have to and maybe even spend a few moments looking over their T's & C's etc, it might end up saving you hundreds of pounds in inaccessible cash.
I've used paypal for so long that I can't remember when I signed up. I've had to dispute charges on occasion over the years, and have never had a problem getting a refund.
I prefer to pay with credit card when I can through PayPal. When I go directly from my bank account, I ensure that there's not a lot of cash in it because I know it's not as secure as it should be.
I know of people who had their accounts frozen because they made too much money. It is crazy.
Paypal and Square are great ways for someone like me (solopreneur) to accept credit cards and so I'll keep using it as long as it still works out well for me.
I needed reimbursement for a travel expense. The amount was $500, and I knew that PayPal had a transfer money feature through email. After the money went through, I went to check my balance and I had $485 and change.
I checked my account history and found that more than $14 in fees had been taken from the original amount. That is exorbitant, especially when there are so many other services that do the same thing for free. If I'd have known upfront that these fees would have been extracted, I would've told the other party not to use PayPal, to use Square instead, or Google Wallet. I would've even waited for a check to arrive in the mail. $14 in fees is unacceptable.
In talking with the other party, the person said she knew nothing about the fee before agreeing to transfer the money. It must've been hidden somewhere in the tiny, tiny print. How rude. I'm never using PayPal's transfer money feature again, and I'm never going to use it as part of another company's payment options. I will always use my credit card info from here on out. This is bad business, guys. Very disappointing.
I got scammed on PayPal and the on my dispute the didn't accept it, so I wrote to Paypal about it and they just replied to me about Ebay and telling me what a dispute is, they just get a bot to read and reply to there questions, there service is terrible and probably one of the worst companys on the internet.

My account was permanently limited for a reason that Paypal is yet to clarify beyond pointing me to their acceptable use policy and terms and conditions - both of which i'm confident I have not violated. Requests for further information are met with canned replies that often have nothing at all to do with me or my queries. I've been a customer of Paypal's for many years and have never had any issue before my account was suddently limited without warning or satisfactory explanation. I used Paypal primarily for subscriptions and to send funds to suppliers abroad. This move by Paypal has adversely affected my business and been a terrible inconvenience. I'm so appalled at how disloyal a company could be to its own clients that despite the fact that I was a happy Paypal.com customer until now, I will not ever be able to trust them again with my money.

Jeg bruger min paypal konto til at betale småting som jeg køber via ebay og amazone
og jeg har aldrig oplevet nogen problemer omkring betaling ..
så jeg er fuld ud tilfreds
I use my paypal account to buy things from Ebay and Amazone, not much expensiv stuff, but I have never never had any kind of problems.
So im satiefied
Paypal is what I use for whatever payments I'm doing (or accepting) on the internet. they are supported in League (which I play a ton), and I accept payments when selling from my records-collection on Discogs.com - I warmly suggest this site to anyone who wants to buy/sell on the internet - it's perfectly safe! :)
My account was hacked twice by the same user on two different transaction by someone overseas WITHOUT a verified PayPal account and was being shipped to an entirely different address than the person who made the purchase. PayPal seemed to not see this as some form of RED FLAG that the user's name did not match mine, their account WAS NOT verified, nor did it raise an eyebrow to them that they were being shipped to a foreign country. After 3 MONTHS of fighting the charges, I thought it was over but not yet. Now PayPal is telling me they reimbursed my account twice by accident and I now own them 119.19 because they say they paid me and also my bank the money. No one seems to have a real paper trail of any of these so-called double reimbursements. If you think PayPal is as secure as they try to say they are, YOU ARE WRONG! I HOPE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE!
Paypal loves to state that their payment policy is 21 days and if you follow their little steps, you can get your money quicker. What they fail to say is that they do not follow this AT ALL!!! I did not get my money until the 28th day and that is not until I contacted them and made a BBB complaint! I guess another worker had placed my account on hold because I upset her when I asked where my money was on the 22nd day. Not to mention their fees are outrageous! I will NEVER use this company to sell again!!! They kept over $900 of mine.

Not only is this service a rip off but when you call customer service there are 20 minutes worth of prompts you have to listen which most of the time don't even apply to your concern. If you press 0 to speak with someone, the recording sends you back to the beginning.
As a seller I got ripped off. A buyer disputed the delivery of the item, even though I was present when he acknowledged receipt and satisfaction of his purchase on a recorded line with Paypal. Paypal stole $145 of my account. I sold a 1977 $100 dollar bill so I had only made $20 net on the sale. 16 emails later and numerous phone calls, they still haven't fixed this fraud.

Although their customer service is flawed - most notably during chargeback cases in my experiences as a merchant - and their fees are sometimes too much, I respect how they invented a new option for consumers: a secondary layer of payment for security, immediate payments through an account and a straightforward dispute system ( very controversial to both buyer/seller).
PayPal foremost needs to improve their image as a bureaucratic, callous pseudo-banking system, in my opinion, as along with many friends, there's a slight cold discomfort in using it - fear that any issues arising would be disregarded to their many rules to distance accountability.
Words can not explain how unprofessional and appalling this company really is. It is so open to fraud it is a joke.
We used these monkeys(please excuse the insult to monkeys) to process website payments for framed pictures and art, we stopped using them when we had a spate of fraudulent transactions where the criminal would purchase an expensive framed item and upon its delivery then contact paypal and claim it has arrived broken with shattered glass everywhere, none of the items actually contained glass and were framed with Plexiglas/perspex, they would then claim that they are not sending the item back as they will be in danger of cutting themselves were they to handle the item and attempt to return it. PayPal, even though we had told them time and time again that there was no glass in the items and could prove this still refund the buyer every time! Trying to speak to them is a complete waste of time as is emailing them, all you ever got was a monkey on the other end of the phone reading a script or a pre scripted email.
We stood to lose £2000 because of this scam until I had a brain wave and anyone else who finds themselves in this predicament can easily repeat the same stunt. Using a credit card to purchase items from our own website we spend the same amount that we had just been defrauded for, we then withdrew the payments from the paypal account to our bank account, once this was complete we called our credit card company and initiated a charge-back for the credit card payments, the bank reversed the payments which then left the paypal account with a negative balance. We then received several pathetic letters from paypal and a mickey mouse debt company. Our reply to these letters were simple, please stop sending us these pathetic threatening letters and take legal action as we would like nothing more than to tear your company to pieces in a court of law at your own expense. We had copies of transcripts where we had warned them that the transactions were fraudulent but they still issued more refunds without the items being returned. Did they take action? Of course they didn't, they knew full well they wouldn't win and certainly didn't want the negative publicity, I guess they also didn't want the obvious flaws in there system published either. How they are allowed to operate is beyond me.

I bought a vintage designer bag, the bag arrives and it's fake.
I have a company look at it that specializes in determine whether or not designer bags are real. And they tell me it's fake.
So I open a case on paypal to get my 300€ back - they accept the letter from the company saying it's fake and then tells me to destroy and dispute the bag.
And I cover it in paint and throws it in the trash!
Then they want document that the bag is gone.
So I write a letter and claim the bag is gone. And then have my roomie and friend sign it as well.
Then paypal closes my case because my friend signed the paper - but I was never told how to do a "Affidavit" or the witness couldn't be a friend. And they did accept the fact that the bag is fake
SO now I've ended up with a broken 300€ fake bag!
I*M SO ANGRY!
I sent 200 dkk to my account 1st og october, they came as planned to my account. I did the eccact same thing 4th of october(200 dkk), but there is still no money in my pp account. i did precisly the same thing as the last time. The code and bank account details is saved in my netbank, så no fault in codes etc. Now i have sent two emails with NO ANSWERS AT ALL back from paypal. This is by far the worst experience ive had with paypal and im certanly NOT moving any more money before i get some answers. The reason why im making this review, apparently they answer people in here i see.
Mein Rat ---> So lange alles klappt ganz gut. Geht aber irgendwann was schief VIEL GLÜCK!!!!!!
I had so many problems with paypal as buyer and seller. U can´t believe one word they pretend saying about them selves. And on top you pay skybreaking fees for transfering money with nearly no protection and no customer service.
I am looking forward for amzon´s payment method. Might be expensive too but at least a bit of competition.
After several conversations with PayPal support, they are unable to fix a glitch on their website which has caused all subscription services through them to have failed payments. Bank account and credit cards are linked and confirmed, and still their service is not working properly.
The agents at the PayPal customer service center all read from a script, are not knowledgeable at their own system, and are very rude when asked to escalate the issue to a supervisor. It is impossible to speak with a supervisor. Once I waited on hold for an hour, only to have the agent say "I've checked with all the supervisors, and they are all busy and can't talk, sorry". Afterward, I called back a day later and was told "They are all busy, they will give you a call back. Can I have your number? They'll call you within an hour." After three hours passed, I called back and I waited on hold for five minutes, only to have the agent to disconnect the call and ignore me.
This is a terrible customer support service, which is useless at best.

No Taxes for UK!
No Benefits For UK!
Devastating our High Street way of life!
Harming UK Economy!
Wake UP UK!
We all like to buy and sell on eBay and use Paypal, great!
When are we going to wake up and realize that 15% of the UK's Retail Industry is going abroad! UK government UK Economy is being chopped off day after day after day by these disgusting *BA****DS!* that treat YOU like like you are an ASDA bag.....
Highly paid "SCUM!"*
UK Should wake UP and realize what is happening, remove these BLOOD SUCKING WORMS FROM OUR ECONOMY!"
Paypal has started to talk about BUYER PROTECTION. Their really is none. All that PAYPAL care about is their commission. I trust my credit card company more than them anyday.
The seller acknowledged in his emails that he has cheated me. Gave the emails to PAYPAL and my credit card company. My credit card company issued a refund. Paypal is asking me to return them the money that my credit card company gave back to me after determining that I was right.
Shady business to say the least and a lot of lies!!!
Hope they don't have monopoly on the internet business anymore.....
I sold something on Craigslist and learned that it is a bad way to accept money. The buyer claims the item did not work and had a different story when I talked to him and when he submitted a claim to Pay Pal. He is clearly trying to keep the item and get his money back. This is the first time I ever sold something on Craigslist and I though I was doing someone a favor negotiating a deal that is 50 percent off what they sell the item for online. I just had no use for it and it was wasting space. This is ridiculous and Pay Pal is making it to easy for people to commit fraudulent transactions. Now they are going to try to take the money out of my account and the buyer could ship back the item broken or not how I sent it. Now I will be screwed out of the money because of the shipping cost and fees Pay Pal takes and stuck with an item that I hope if I even get it back is in the same condition as I sent it. Very disappointed in this type of system and will delete my account after the dispute is over.
I have had many reasons to call PayPal and speak with one of their representatives. Each time I have been treated in a serious, friendly and helpful manner. While the PayPal policies can be difficult to accept, the employees are fully customer service oriented.
I am so furious with PayPal words cannot describe it!! I run a very reputable company which requires me having PayPal, so every now and then i need to pay for services/goods to my suppliers. Anyway cutting the story short- i opened a business account with PayPal, which i then linked my business account to it, only to find out after 3 days that my account has been refused- with no explanation WHY!! Now, my money that i initially transferred is blocked for 160 days!!
I am shocked at the bad reviews. I have not had any problem with paypal. All of my transactions have been processed without fail.
paypal policy leave big loop holes for scammers to take advantage of. It lets paypal not take any responsibility whatsoever. Even paypal claim it's safe, don't worry we will take care of your money.
I Sold a very expensive Desktop computer on ebay to a Buyer over Europe, it was a Xeon workstation total amount £2440 The Auction ended. and The Winning Bidder paid the next day I sent it off royal mail. (SMALL BUYERS ARE AT RISK ON EBAY)
he stated all contents was Missing Yes you heard that right classic stunt from a scamming Buyer £2300 worth of hardware VANISHED from the insides LOL and he still won the case I even had loads of evidence still favour the Buyer no matter what you had to prove. PONKERS
I was advised from the police about paypal and fraud from Buyers if paypal calls you regarding a debt that you don't owe change your number and if a debt collection company contacts you say you don't live at the address anymore because the debt isn't valid it's the buyers paypal is very known regarding customer service they don't do nothing just leave you with a outstanding balance and closed account and it isn't your fault its the fraudster Buyers
Well I investigated about paypal and I'm not alone it seems ebay has scammers that abuse the Buyer protection program and they intend to scam you out of the money and the Goods. and if you can't afford to pay them back with a refund your account goes in to meltdown and paypal doesn't care. and you become Blocked and banned because of a scammer that abuses the system it's a Nightmare caused me stress pain sleepless Nights constant calls from paypal.
I packed it very well the Dell workstation in a box all sealed, never again will I sell abroad to a Buyer. risky full of idiots who want Free goods and get you in to trouble.
He claims he got a different system, (item not as described) classic case Basically a empty server case Made me laugh but that's when things got serious he scammed me and Paypal didn't care they sided with the Buyer I contacted the police they couldn't do nothing no one cared,
I filed a claim against Paragon Sports with Paypal since they did not refund my payment after I returned their merchandise. Paypal initially denied the claim because I did not have the freight tracing number but a supervisor eventually called the company and got the refund for me himself. I am quite happy with this outcome.
I have been using Paypal for years and for the most part it has been OK. There have been a few instances where I have had issues. One of the biggest concerns is if you have the Paypal debit card as they are quick to lock up the card if they think there is a lot of activity and if you need a new card it can take 3 weeks to get to you. Overall, it is not a horrible service, but I think it could use a lot of work.
Using PayPal can be really convenient, especially for exchanging money between friends/family. I use it to collect the money for my fantasy football league every year. Unfortunately, my account was recently hacked and someone ran up a couple hundred dollars in charges on my account. While PayPal eventually rectified the situation and I got my money back, it concerns me that it was so easy for someone to do that. I was also locked out of my own account for a couple weeks after that happened, which was a headache.
When I log in to my account and sit through 5 seconds of "the world's most beloved way to be paid" startup screen I want to scream. I hate Paypal. If I find a viable alternative, preferably non-US based, I will change in a heartbeat.
I have had payments blocked for no reason. I have called them to see why and have repeatedly been stonewalled. It's as though they have a support strategy of so frustrating the client (me!) that heated angry words inevitably ensue, and I am told that if I do not calm down my accont will be closed and the money lost. I don't call anymore. I only use this service when there's no alternative. I transfer money out immediately after it arrives so that Paypal doesn't make money on my float.
And their eagerness to close accounts for causes that they don't agree with, or more probably, cave into US govt pressure to stop whistleblowers is not something I want to support.

It has bad service. Nothing is clear in your statement balance online and If you call credits, they are just rude.
I was calling to talk about my account and those guys in the credits department were just rude and didn't help at all.
I am not using this account anymore. I wish I could erase it but I don't want my credit history to be messed up because of them.
Made a purchase because I didn't want my credit card info saved on the site I was buying from and I thought Pay Pal was more trust worthy. Contacted customer support multiple times through email and never got a response. Couldn't get it linked my bank account so I could pay them and by the time I finally got it all sorted out with out PayPals help I had been hit with late charges.
I bought the item from ebay for £106 after 3 week waiting and talking to the seller. Opened case but after paypal checking the case they said no we will not refund the money
So I thunk I have to talk to police about this

I'm not going to go in too much detail but I was scammed out of £235 and when I called Paypal, they seem to not care whatsoever about the situation and when I called them up, a woman talked to me for literally 5 seconds making no sense at all and then hung up. Only time they bothered to talk to me for longer than 10 seconds was when I was in debt to them and I refused to pay because I was scammed.
After I pay back this debt, I will NEVER use Paypal again and I will make sure everyone I know who uses Paypal know exactly about about this.
I recommended Moneybookers/Skrill for anyone else, it's easier to use and the customer service are actually polite and helpful, unlike Paypal.
