I sold a $900 Louis Vuitton on eBay. The buyer sent the money the day of the auction. Due to PayPal being difficult I had to wait a week for funds to be released. Then 5 more days to get the money to my account. Meanwhile in that 2 week period the buyer has received my item, left great feedback and is enjoying my item. All within 3 days of my auction ending. I on the other hand am still waiting for payment from paypal and it has been 10 days!
How is that ok? I have a credit card linked to my account and have been buying using pay pal for years! Do not use them to sell goods unless you do not need your money.

Today PayPal failed to protect me as a buyer.
I won a bid for an iPhone 5 on an equivalent site to eBay called eBid for over £330. After payment using PayPal the seller had deleted his account, this indicated that I may have been scammed. The seller sent me an envelope with a note instead of the goods. I had started a dispute to suspend my funds on PayPal and waited for over 20 days.
I contacted the police and they began investigating the fraud. They were not allowed to provide me or PayPal the report due to a privacy law. I had given PayPal as much evidence as I could that the seller was committing fraud. This included emails from the seller, the police and the letter. Also evidence that other buyers on the site were scammed by the same seller. I spoke to at least five different PayPal advisors asking me the same questions.
I found out today that PayPal released my money to the scamming seller due to "insufficient evidence" after sending them all the evidence I had. After this experience I will no longer be using PayPal, they should be taking the side of innocent buyers but instead taking the side of people committing fraud.
Really disappointed with PayPal, they made the wrong decision.
I ordered a transaction from a band account to the paypal account to purchase things on ebay. They said 3-5 days to transfer and its been 10 days, and it says it will take 3 more. The items I wanted to buy are now gone. Ebay does not let me purchase without funds from paypal.
Thanks a lot paypal. You pain in the arse.
I had an issue with a ebay merchant that i was unable to make contact without after i made payment. I contacted Ebay but they were not much help in my opinion, I then contacted Paypal and express my concern and immediately the wonderful agent acted on my behalf, placed funds in hold, then make contact with the seller. one day later the seller responded to Paypal and my account was refunded.
I am so grateful and this experience have gave me a greater appreciation of Paypal services.
Just because I did not submit my dispute for a non-delivered item before after 45 days of the purchase they say they can’t help me??????
Why do they not pay more attention to the companies they offer their services to? But of cause they don’t care since they get there profit no matter if we get our goods/services or not.
My "secured" account got hacked the first time I tried to use it. PayPal drags their feet in attempting to get resolution to my problem. In the meantime, they have my money and won't refund it.
I'm self-employed, and most of my clients pay me via Paypal. Over the last few years, the service has improved massively. I appreciate being able to cash out with the Faster Payments system and get access to money in my bank account almost instantly (and with no fees), but I hate the rest of the fee structure. It costs me a lot each month to receive payments, but my clients won't pay by BACS so I don't have much choice.
I've had a lot of problems with payments being held for review, and my account getting locked "for security reasons". Sadly, Paypal is pretty much universally accepted/used, and I have yet to find a good alternative.
I'm a contractor who does all my work online, so I get paid through Paypal. I'm able to have a Paypal debit card that I can use in day to day transactions, and on the occasions that there have been unauthorized transactions Paypal took care of it in a timely manner and my money was returned to me. On occasion I have to call Paypal for how to do something on the site and everyone I've talked to has been friendly and knowledgeable.
As a small business owner that runs a home office, PayPal allows me to manage all of my payment processing needs. I use PayPal to sell information products on my business website and even on auction sites, such as eBay. Between the PayPal website and the iPhone app, I can manage my payments and invoicing no matter where I am.
I also love to use PayPal to make online purchases, so that I don't have to run to get my purse and credit card. Thank you, PayPal for making my life so much easier, and for putting green in my pocket (OK, my bank account).
Paypal are a joke. They refunded money to an account I had shut. I had to call them on a premium line to inform them of this. They then informed me I had to wait 30 days to get my own money back which I reluctantly did. 35 days later still no money and I have to call their premium line again to tell them to chase this payment at which point they tell me could be up to another 21 days till I get my money. So pretty much Paypal have my money and are earning interest on it while I am struggling through my overdraft. Rubbish!
When I started doing contract work, most of which is via the Internet, everyone wanted to pay me via Paypal. I was initially a little concerned, but 4 years later I can't live without them. I am a VIP member with the business debit card. They have the best customer service, cash back for purchases, easy transfer of money to accounts and 100 percent secure. You can manage your account online or via their app. I can't imagine life without Paypal and it is the only way I do business now via the Internet. You can call their phone number and actually talk to a real person and they are just as good with $20 as they are with $2,000.

I used to depend on PayPal for my online transactions. I used PayPal on a daily basis for three years without a problem, until my account was frozen recently due to "suspicious activity". I used PayPal to receive money from a friend, which they for some reason characterize as suspicious activity. I've appealed this matter several times now as instructed by themselves without luck. I've spoken with them on the phone for several hours without luck. Customer service is great at the beginning, but in the end I found the service representative to be very rude and unhelpful. They have now frozen a substantial amount of money for five months - my money. It needs to be said that my account has existed for three years, it's "verified", I've supplied them with copies of my passport, address verification, student identification card, etc. This is just completely unacceptable. I won't be using their service ever again, it's very unfortunate that Ebay pretty much require the use of PayPal.
I've been self employed for nearly 4 years now and during that time I have almost always been paid via PayPal. I find it easy to use, track payments, send invoices, and manage disputes. The one thing I didn't like was when they required me to provide my SS number in order to withdraw more than $500/month of my own money. That was rather ridiculous considering they make money on everything. But given the 1099misc tax changes I figure it was inevitable. Overall good company to manage my business payments with w/o needing a merchant terminal and so forth for CC processing.
It turns out that the sender of money has all the advantage. Recieving money should be free - but its expensive - VERY expensive indeed. Having a US account receiving Euro living in Denmark you end paying more than 5% for getting your money. I would recommed Paypal - If they could ease down the fee rate a bit. Fx. Pay max. 5$ pr. transaction. In danish bank transfer fee is between 3-4$ no matter the amount.
PayPal protects scammers. They offer dispute processing but dodgy procedure. They telephone the scamming seller and just let the buyer send dispute by their online processing and make decisions without even investigating. Avoid using this service.
it all started with that they closed my account because I changed my email and card number contemporaries. after I saw that they had made my account inactive, I did all the haggling they asked for. it has now been over half a year and they still have not opened my account and not even written to me, but I I have written a lot of times to them but nothing happened. I need them again on 8/9, and complained much of their servise, and so the 10/9 they wrote to me that they have now closed my account permanently ..... WTF
I still to remind all paypal members have to be caution and regularly check your account or you bid over ebay they going to rob you if you are not aware. I have been biding over ebay and pay through paypal for years recently I realize they charge me a fees for US$59.00 with letting me know. reason is the fees.
PAYPAL IS - Outrageous, unreasonable and unfair !! I don't recomend Paypal to anyone. I added money from my bank account into my paypal account and now they limited my paypal account, which mean I can't use my money and I can't send my money back into my bank account where this money came from.Paypal said they going to hold my money for 180 days and then they will let me know what is next. Do you see what happening ??? They are going to hold my money , I'm sure they going to make some interest on my money.I said to paypal if can't use my money, then send my money back into my bank account where this money came from , and they said no. PAYPAL I INSIST GIVE MY MONEY BACK . SEND MY MONEY BACK INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT ! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO HOLD MY MONEY FOR 180 DAYS . I GAVE YOU MY ID DRIVER LICENCE, MY BANK STATEMENTS, CONFIRMED ALL MY BANK ACCOUNTS, MY CREDIT CARD.
PAYPAL GIVE MY MONEY BACK !!!!!
Paypal enables ANYONE to register even though you're only 10years old and do not have any requirements that can verify who you are, neither that you are over 18 years old.
Then the small kids steals their parents credit card and buys some code off ebay.
Then 30 days later the folks see the bill and call the bank.
The seller just got ripped of by paypal.
Bought a tablet from China.
Transport to me took 29 days. The tablet did not work and was sent back to the sellers. This indicated that he has not received it and suddenly 45 days gone!
PayPal can / will not help! Their deadline is 45 days. No help and no amount repaid (96 £) incl. my transportation costs (29 £) I have received and eBay does not help. They are more interested in acting as they make their money on fees.
I dare not use PayPal more - a costly "pleasure".
I have been using PayPal since its inception and have been pleased with the service I have received from them. However today I had the worst experience that you can have with a Customer Service company called PayPal.
They need to remember that they exist because of users not users existing because of them. I recently moved and diligently went through all of my online service that I use and changed the address. SO I THOUGHT. I ordered some items using PayPal and had not received them so I decided to go to my account to get an idea on eta. Much to my surprise they were shipped to my old address and sent back to the shipper because the forwarding had expired a month ago. I called PayPal "customer service" and was told that what I seen on my screen to remove the old address does not mean that it is gone, you need to call and have the records updated with them. I explained that I had the correct information showing on my screen and was told to look at the full information. Lo and behold there was my "shipping address" at the old location.
I asked how I would be reimbursed for my additional shipping to have the products returned to me and she told me that it was my responsibility to make the changes on my account. I then re-explained that I went online (after all it is an online company) changed my address and deleted the old address from the screen. She then told me that I needed to contact PayPal to finish the job.
All I know is that if you are moving call the asses and get the job done according to them the right way.
PayPal is a great service SOMETIMES but remember they do not take responsibility for their F##k ups.
