Worthless machines for a high price
The laptop was purchased just over I year ago 1 week out of warranty the laptop completely crashed. So I took it to a laptop specialist who told me it was either the bios chip or a complete graphics failure but for £750 that shouldn't happen and they told me to contact them as EU law states computer components have to have 2 years warranty, however when I contacted PC specialist they told me that they use the 'Trading Of Goods Act' and so they do no have to commit to EU laws in other words a loophole I asked them if they would be able to fix it for me and they replied saying yes with a cost of £269. I refuse to pay that after the original price. The laptop specialist who diagnosed it for me said that THE COMPONENTS ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY PAID and the machine is worth no more than a bog standard Acer or dell machine.
Very disappointing and I will be taking it further legally if necessary as the machine is not fit for purpose.

We are sorry to hear you have had a problem with your machine after your warranty has expired - sadly, the laptop is also out of manufacturers warranty as well as the warranty PC Specialist provide.
We do not mind repairing your laptop, with free labour (you have 3 years included) as already stated but any parts, in line with your warranty would have to be paid for.
You are correct, we do not follow the EU law, however the Sale of Goods Act 1979 is more powerful than the EU directive in any event - I would suggest you research into this if you think the EU directive gives you an automatic 2 year warranty on all items - you are mistaken (although many people, through word of mouth, bad information and poor explanations think this so you are not alone).
We are sorry that your laptop is out of warranty and has a fault, this is one of the reasons we offer the option to upgrade your warranty past the manufacturers single year for that piece of mind.

Fast Delivery, well built PC and great prices!
I ordered a pc from these guys so I could play Guild Wars 2. I looked through a lot, and I mean a lot, of sites trying to find one that was good, most were either too expensive or their site had a terrible layout which made it difficult to customize every aspect of your rig. The site for pc specialist was easy to navigate and had simple drop down menus for practically every component. Knowing what I was looking for, it took me only a few minutes to select everything I wanted and then to order it. Not only was the price fantastic they built and delivered it in a little under a week or there abouts. Will use again when I want an upgrade from my current rig.

BEST GAMING LAPTOP I'VE OWNED YET!
So this is the second machine i've bought from pc specialist and im very happy with the service.
To begin with i like the simplicity of the layout on the page and its very easy to find exactly what you want from their menus. For people who don't know computing "Jargon" there is also help with that making things easy. What i really like about the company is the support you get not only from them but from the forums as well. For example before i purchased my expensive laptop i posted the specs on the forums for opinions on it and got great response.
Now, when i ordered it the average for a laptop to be built and delivered is 14 days at the moment but seeing as i bought mine during a busy period it took 18 days which i am fine with and till happy with the service.
When i received my laptop it was in the expected shipping condition you expect from a company delivering expensive fragile goods with a lot of foam and protected layers. You get a great welcome booklet which tells you how to do many a things from installing your windows key, installing a fresh OS and how to connect things up ( mainly for desktops)
You may be wondering why there have been no negatives but in my mind there wasn't anything wrong with the company and what they did and how they did it. The site was easy to use, you had many payment options and recived a well delivered product that was well packaged. If anything went wrong i wouldn't hesitate to either call them up or go to the forums which i have used numerous times for advice. As for a review of my actual laptop you can go to the website to find more, its a CLEVO P370EM.
Great Company and good prices, i recommend it for first time laptop or computer buyers unless you want to build it yourself. :P

Expert assembly from reliable service
I was impressed with PCSpecialist first time around, back in 2009, when I had a workstation built by them. 18 months later they replaced a corrupt hard drive and delivered it hassle-free, sending email updates of the order and its delivery progress. Needless to say, when I wanted a new laptop, I knew where to buy it from.
I was glad to see the format of custom building a PC had not altered on their website. You install the hardware you want without buying, say from the high street, unclear exactly about what’s in it, the software installed, or how long it’s been sitting in the backshop. PCSpecialist build it your way, using the components you need, discarding any software you don’t need, in my case, that’s all of it including the operating system. It saves a lot of money.
After choosing the parts, you end up with a pc that you can compare with other models on the site by upgrading or subtracting hardware depending on cost, before placing an order. For instance, I was keen on having a portable device with the capability of handling animation software and multi-tasking between windows. By losing the software, my budget was applied to other areas such as a higher grade processor, memory capacity and some thermal cooling gel. I was even able to add an extra 250GB storage for £5.
I would highly recommend PCSpecialist to anyone buying a PC who know what they want, investing their money in worthwhile hardware and like feeling covered if any problems surface.

So simple you don't need to talk to anyone

Faultless Service . Highly Recommended.
I needed a computer to replace one that was always locking up and was unbelievably slow.
My needs were for speed, memory, and good graphics.
Not being able to find a prebuilt machine I decided to go for a customised unit. I discovered PC Specialist and was immediately delighted on finding how comprehensive a list of component sections were available. My shopping list was the requirements for my hobby of home/vidio using Pinacle Studio Ultimate 15 to upgrade to Blu-ray.
I have not been disappointed. The machine has worked perfectly from the word go. The ease of specifying together with advice on conflicts of choice were to me (a novice) a boon. From the conception through to supply all promises stated were fully kept. Delivery and packaging were
also very good. The packaging, though kept. I feel confident are most unlikely to be needed; except if additional parts are required for an updateing to my original specification. Thank you to all at PC Specialist Ltd.

Brilliant and Fast Service!
I was recommended PC Specialist by my father (who in turn was recommended it by a friend). I had quite precise requirements for my laptop which I wanted to use for a variety of tasks including video editing and software development. I loved the granularity of configuration and a massive bonus was the ability to specify "No Operating System" which saved on me about £70 on a pointless licence (I already had a copy of Windows 8).
The delivery estimate was 8-10 working days, I ordered my laptop on Saturday and it was delivered the following Friday; 5 working days later! I could not complain at all. I liked being able to track my order through the build process and the fact the courier gave me a 1 hour window for delivery.
The build quality is superb and I have so far had absolutely no issue with my laptop. One small ergonomic niggle is the sharp corners and edges of laptop which can be a little uncomfortable if you rest your wrist on it. The trackpad is also not the best but is adequate. The keyboard is superb with the keys well spaced and the travel satisfying if you are doing a lot of typing.
One feature that would have been nice to offer is a touch screen. None of the laptops offer this but it would have been useful for Windows 8.
Overall I am extremely happy with the quality and service received from PC Specialist and I will certainly recommend to anyone!

Quick, good price and a nice machine :)
This is the second time getting a computer from here because i was impressed with the service the first time. however this time it was a ready made laptop which arrived within a day or so of ordering along with peripherals which I thought was very quick service. :)

Great servoce amd a great laptop
My requirements for my new laptop was for it to have a good battery life and a high res screen. Something that is surprisingly difficult to find. PC Specialist managed to provide on both and offer a great price as well.

Very satisfied, with one minor complaint.
The site was very easy to understand, when I was choosing my components the price changed and when I clicked continue the VAT had already been included (unlike many other sites I've been to). The laptop is great, I've had no problems with it so far.
The minor complaint is that the site advertises a free copy of "Metro Last Light" with a "GTX 660 graphics card or higher, but dose not mention that this is not included with laptop's (only desktop's). I told them about the concern and they said they would add this info to the site. They have still not done so as far as I can see.

Overall, very pleased with my order.
Ordering was a breeze and delivery was very fast. I am very satisfied with my order. There are a couple of issues I would like to point out though:
- When I opted for no operating system I was expecting no operating system to be installed. That may not be an issue for most people but it just means more formatting time for me as I always do a low level format just before a clean install. Also, it would have made more sense for the laptop to come with Windows 7 preinstalled because Windows 7 can be upgraded to Windows 8, but the other way around... not so much (unless you know how to use unofficial downgrade tools).
- I'm experiencing some screen tearing in some applications but that is a driver issue. Turning on VSync or forcing it from the Catalyst Control Center sometimes helps. I'm still glad I chose the 7970M over the 680M though.
- The Hotkey application from the manufacturer needs an update or a fix. Using the Fn+Hotkey combo has functionality issues while used inside some applications. For instance, when I use Fn+F6 to turn the volume up, some applications also execute the command assigned to the F6 key.

Not as perfect as I would like.
Excellent customer service, fast delivery and technical support. Unfortunately even after buying a new graphics card and a second computer screen at £159.00 the picture quality is still poor. Worth the £600.00 overall cost? Probably not. Though the computer apart from that now works like a dream! But I now have a brand new computer screen I will never use. So disappointed in that.

Get EXACTLY what you want for the price you want with PC Specialist
My quest for a new PC was becoming tedious. Every one I looked at didn't quite have the specs I wanted but PC specialist eliminates this problem. I discovered many companies were offering a degree of customisation but nothing like PC specialist. I was amazed at the vast selection of components there were and how simple it was to pick and choose what I wanted from the drop down list. I had a budget and the websites functionality made it easy to keep on top of costing. Once I had placed my order, the company kept me regularly informed about it's progress via email. Post and packaging was free and I was given dates and times of arrival via text so I didn't have to sit indoors all day twiddling my thumbs. Upon it's arrival I was quick to set it up and everything is working fine (touch wood). To some up, if you're looking for a PC which is tailored to your needs then I recommend PC Specialist.

Details: Before placing my order I had a couple of questions regarding the specification of my PC and a fairly complex issue regarding hardware virtualization for a specialist scanner. Both their sales and technical support were really good, giving me confidence in the company.
In the past I have built a number of PC systems from scratch. However, on pricing the components for my proposed system I was surprised to find it was actually cheaper to get PC Specialists to build it.
Any niggles? Well, although the front panel USB 3.0 worked, the front panel USB 2.0 and the card reader did not. I easily diagnosed and fixed the problem myself. It’s probable that two connectors had come off in transit. To the company’s credit, they do highlight this possibility in the helpful booklet they supplied with the PC.
So I’m very pleased – I now have a very quiet, fast and powerful desktop PC for my Photoshop work.

Fast, High quality Build
Received laptop well before the expected date, had 0 hassle and got a really great machine for the right price.
One of the strips of tape left the glue on the case, but that is a minor issue I can solve myself.
Every other aspect of the laptop is excellent and I am thoroughly happy.

Configured a fairly highly specced laptop on their site which came in cheaper than buying all the components and building myself. Very happy with laptop but absolutely! no help when i phoned for advice.
I was recommended to Pc Specialist by a friend,so looked at website configured laptop that suited my needs.I did however need some advice to put my mind at rest.So i gave them a call to see if they could help. After two calls i came of the phone feeling let down that no effort was made to help me.Everything els about this purchase was great,happy with my laptop, works well for me,but customer service not a strong point.

Great laptop and service
I ordered from PC Specialist because I couldn't find what i wanted as a pre-built, shop sold laptop. Great configuration options and it arrived very well packed within the estimated build/delivery time.
The only thing I could pick them up on is that the online status indicator was at times inconsistant with the emails i was getting from the company (email reads "your laptop has entered testing and quality control" whereas online indicator says it's still in the building phase) which I see as relatively negligable as the idea of an online tracker is a novel adition for impatient people who want to know exactly what is happening (like me).
Would deffinately recommend or get another computer from them.

My experience with PC Specialist was great! Their website is really easy to use and helped my build my perfect laptop. The service was great too, my order was processed and built extremely quickly.
