Complete disgrace and absolutely useless

The order experience with phones for you has been an absolute nightmare. With an offer through work we had to order through them. After the phone arrived without having been activated we got an threatening letter to return the phone otherwise we would be charged for it. No explanation at all. After many phone calls and failed orders no solution was given. How do they manage to function? No idea.

Tragic service

I ordered a phone and laptop deal on the 1st April, still not received, lied to repeatedly by staff, told its coming out every day then told oops sorry that info was wrong, my items ARE in stock but they say my account is stuck in limbo and will not cancel my order nor send it to me. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. An account manager spoke to me like rubbish and told me to shut up or cancel my order, tried to cancel my order repeatedly! Managers make excuses up and say they will call back with a resolution but it never happens. They do not deserve any custom full stop.

MY GOD!! If you have a barge pole don't touch them with it!

Phones 4 u are an absolute disgrace. They should not be in business. I took out a contract with Vodafone last year on a Sony Xperia z. It was evident very quickly that Vodafone was not providing me a decent internet service. I had previously had iPhone on three and never had an issue. I was passed from pillar to post Vodafone, to Sony, to phone 4 u, and back again. All not claiming responsibility and claiming it's someone else's. Vodafone eventually gave me new SIM card and two months free as they said it was down to them as the 4g was disrupting signals while they were initialising it. Then the phone stopped charging, on sending it to the phone 4u technical support, they told me that I had damaged the USB port and I would incur a cost of 75 pounds to fix it. I told them that I only had ever used this as normal daily charging and it should have been able to withstand that. They were adamant that I pay this fee and I declined to pay and asked them to return the phone. I rand the store from where I got the phone as you can imagine,..slightly annoyed and I heard the assistant say to the manager, "there's a wifey on the phone here and she's going ape shit" this infuriated me even more and by the time I spoke to the store manager I was ready to explode. I was offered an apology and was passed on to customer services. Some one there was appalled and told me to allow them to keep the phone and fix it at no charge to me. However I had arranged for the phone to be returned to the store as it was free otherwise a reurn to my home would incur a cost of 5 pounds!! I went to collect the phone in order to send it straight back via the store and spoke to one of the assistants there. He was helpful and apologetic and we stupidly ended up with three new contracts with phones 4 u. They gave me a new phone and 435 pounds to pay off the old Vodafone contract, two other phones and a galaxy pad! All in all we were quite happy here as we had new phones and a contract paid off and the expectation of a happy stress free contract. This was six weeks ago. My original phone was returned from technical care with the seal on the USB port damaged, making my Sony waterproof phone now not waterproof. One of the other phones was glitching and freezing, we had this fault supposedly corrected by technical services and it didn't work. Now we have had the phone replaced under terms of insurance as the phone was over 28 days old!!! The replacement is broken after not even two hours! The store told me that I'd have to contact technical support who told me it was a out of box failure and I was to contact customer services, customer services said its nothing to do with them and I was to contact insurance company! I am now awaiting a call from insurance as they don't know why thes steps have been taken. I am waiting for a satisfactory conclusion. I am not holding my breath!!!!!! If you have any sense....stay away from phones 4 u.

Unhelpful and arsey

Its about my new phone which I requested to be delivered to a "neighbour" but which they delivered to a Hairdressing Salon. This was closed by the time I got home, and wasn't open by the time I left for work 2 hrs late this morning. Today I spoke to some oik on the phone at Phones 4U and when he didn't like my manner or what I had to say he got uppety and then said he has now passed the matter over to their "Security and Investigations Department". You'd think Phones 4 U would be sympathetic and professional (I know, that last term does make me chuckle). But no, its down to which person you end up speaking to. I spoke to "James". I said "James who?" He said "I don't have to give you my surname, but I'm happy to give you my extension number". I'll have to remember that one, when I speak to members of the public (I work for local government). Seems that a "neighbour" includes some shop where the carriers DPD have left my phone costing several hundreds of pounds. And according to Phones 4U the phone is now my responsibility. I don't think so!

Stay Away.

I spent nearly an hour on the phone with Nigel (I'm disappointed in you) ordering the Samsung galaxy s5 which is an upgrade from t-mobile to EE. The s5 is not due to come out for another week with phones4u but my contract was cut off early on Friday and they delivered a package on Saturday. I needed to use my current phone's sat nav Friday but couldn't because they cut me off. They caused a massive inconvenience to me.

The package they sent was not an s5. It was...... a Galaxy note 3! When I rang up to complain, the girl said that it was what I ordered! All the girl could do was say that she will get someone to call me back despite me telling her several times that they had cut me off, how can they call me back and all she could do is repeat herself. "sorry, that's all I can do". She eventually suggested using a phone at work (which I can't for personal use). "Sorry, that's all I can do".

So I just said fine try and call be back and went to calm down a bit and called them back 20 mins later and I was asking how I can be put back on to my network. A different girl said to call EE and explain the situation and they will reconnect you, so I did that. EE told me to call phones4u so I said that I had just spoken to them and they told me to call you. The girl at EE was very helpful and suggested using the new sim card (why didn't the clueless girl I spoke to in the first place tell me this?) so I called back phones4u and they said it was ok to use the sim card so I then was able to get my network back.

I still however have a galaxy note 3 that I did not order and a contract they have started early which I did not request. They said they had requested an account manager to call me Monday which thankfully I'm able to receive now thanks to the help of EE and not phones4u. Terrible service.

PHONES 4U WHITELEY, HANTS - NAMED AND SHAMED

If you are thinking of buying a phone from phones4u at Whiteley, you may want to reconsider after reading my post.
I bought an Iphone 5C from there for my daughter in October 2013 but the charger developed a fault whereby it wouldn't charge the phone at all. So, I duly took it back to the store with my receipt and asked them to replace it. I was informed that they didn't do any repairs for Apple and that I had to take it to the Apple shop in Southampton. As I live a mile from the Whiteley store, where I bought the phone, and about 10 miles from the Apple store in Southampton, I declined and informed them that I didn't think a lead would be repairable and that it needed to be replaced and that under the Sale of Goods Act my contract was with them as the retailer and that the charger was covered under the manufacturers years warranty. Again they said they couldn't do that and repeated the advice to go to Apple or suggested I might like to' buy' a replacement charger as they are 'only £10'. I refused to buy it and again stated that they should give it to me under the warranty. They then phoned and spoke to the Phones4u Care plan department and also gave me the phone to speak to them and explain the situation. The Care plan lady then spoke to the store assistant and advised him that yes it was a manufacturers warranty issue and they needed to make a decision on it. The manager Emma still refused to give me a replacement lead from a new phone box as if she broke the seal she would lose the £500 sale of the phone as she wouldn't be able to sell it, and wouldn't give me a lead from the shelf. I advised her that she was in breach of the Sale of Goods Act and that I would report them to Trading Standards to which she replied 'that's fine'
Phones 4u, your customer service is appalling!!!!
I cannot believe that a large retailer like yourselves would make such a fuss about replacing a £10 lead from the shelf.
As a result of this appalling service you have now got bad advertising on Facebook and been reported to Trading Standards, all for the sake of a £10 lead.
You really need to invest more money in customer service training for some of your managers.

Dishonest, Rude and EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE!!!!

DO NOT EVER GO WITH THIS CON COMPANY! Was misinformed about my samsung galaxy note 3 phone charging extra for using emoticons and the gear was worth £100 in cash at CEX! When we took it to CEX to trade it in for the £100, they said that it was a complete lie by Phones4U and the value had actually decreased to the £80 range for a few months already. When we went back to the shop to try and cancel my contract (within the 7 day period), we were told Phones4U does not have a cooling period so they couldn't cancel my contract. We even phoned EE's (network provider) customer service (person I spoke to was called Paul) and he was absolutely useless and extremely RUDE!! He was so unprofessional and to call himself a customer service rep is an absolute joke because he was getting so angry and wasn't even trying to listen to my query but arguing back and telling me I was wrong. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE. You have been warned. Do not ever buy a phone/service from Phones4U or EE. Go with Tesco and O2 as their customer service is more helpful and understanding.

Can't fault the shop staff. Ripped off by insurance

Got a HTC One from phones4u 6 months ago. Was very happy with it until a couple of weeks ago, when it started crashing. Eventually did a full reset. Since then, not been able to turn the phone on. Took it back to the shop today with a code I got from their care website. They said that my policy had been cancelled. Apparently when I changed bank details a month a go I effectively cancelled my policy. Spent a good hour ranting at them as this is allegedly in their t & cs. May I suggest when somebody calls for help, you explain anything as important as this?

Poor after service for faulty iPhone

Terrible company will never shop with this company again. I have purchased over 15 phones in the past 3 years for my business. Never again this is due to having a faulty iPhone 5s and should be exchanged under the 28 day rule.

Hilariously good. I still laugh.

After 9 months, my Lumia 520 died (within warranty). After talking to them, I explained that it simply did not work with my Macbook as advertised. Realising that giving me a replacement was simply pointless, they offered me a full refund. On a 9 month old phone. Really? Wow.

I decided instead to upgrade and pay the difference on a Sony Xperia SP. They gave me a code, and I went to my local store with it. It took about 20 minutes, but I was given a new phone. Unfortunately, It was completely unusable. I mean, completely broken - brand new, but utterly worthless. It even froze when I tried to set the alarm, so it wasn't even any good as a clock. I called them up, and 15 minutes later, I had a return code. I went to my local store with the code, and within 25 minutes or so, new Xperia SP.

Went home, and once again it was completely unusable. Clearly, this was a terribly defective phone. Not really P4U's fault this one! I called them up. After switching between tech support and customer services a few times, I explained that I upgraded on the grounds that this was the phone I wanted, and the only one that either did what I wanted, or was in my price range. It took a bit, but again, they offered me a full refund. They were very happy to do this, no reservations, very friendly about it.

I walked to my local store, and was handed in £210.00 in cash. And that's it. I don't know what anyone else thinks, or what experiences they've had, but for me, this was literally the best customer service I have ever received. "Thanks for waiting" they used to say; I never waited more than 30 seconds, and most of the time it went through immediately. The representatives were remarkably polite and friendly, every man jack of them.

No, seriously. I was laughing to myself about how well this all went. Couldn't believe it. I did not have a contract with them, I had my phone SIM only, so I can't speak to any other side of their business. And I never had to send a phone back, so I can't speak on that either.

But for my purposes, it was fantastic. Manager at my local store was a bit surly, but given the location of the store, I'm not surprised. It's not a nice area - he probably has some pretty grim people to deal with.

Cheers guys.

Awful customer care service and misleading phone insurance!

Nearly a year ago I went to phone 4 u and got offered a phone on contract plus a good phone insurance (phones 4 u care) . Well that's what I thought until few days ago.

During Friday night my phone kept switching on and off. This has happened before which I took it to phones 4 u and they reset. By Saturday my phone started to flash samsung galaxy s3. However I managed get it to work again. I decided I take it to shop as it covered under insurance.

The man there was polite and did his best to help. He rang up insurance company. They told him take battery out . He put it back in and it flashed samsung galaxy s3 and did nothing. My phone had clearly broke. The man at shop was then given go ahead get a free handset. He then checked the phone and noticed a small crack near the charger . The insurance company said its damaged and would cost me 50 pound!! I explained to man in shop that I claiming my phone is a manufacturers fault and was not working not damaged. It wasn't my fault it weren't working. The man said if it was his shop (he owned a different shop) he would replace my handset for free but because it was different shop he didn't want them to lose money! I asked him if any other options like an upgrade on my contract. They said couldn't do that or help me any other way. Than pay 50 pound or have no phone. I was forced pay 50 pound as need a phone. Unhappy customer paid 50 pound and left shop with new handset.

After reading the phones 4 u care book . Also spoke to several people and I felt been conned I went back mon . This time with parents and not on my own. The two girls in shop were rude and one started an argument with my mum and I . They made us more crossed and continue to argue with us instead of trying to calm us down and offer us a drink. Or Say they will offer to help us. One girl got that argumentive that other girl told her she will deal with it. The girl that was arguing said I was happy to pay the money that's a lie. This made me more stressed. I made a complaint to insurance company and stated that in there book it only claims I have pay 50 pound if I claimed it's damaged! No matter what I said they wouldn't see I went into shop to claim my phone was flashing on and off.

They made me really upset and stressed. They refused to refund 50 pound and said they did right thing. I'm now taking complaint higher .

All in all the customer service in shop and insurance company was absolutely awful! Never has a company made me that stressed! Conned me out of 50 pound plus another 55 pound (4.99 a month) for insurance. The insurance doesn't cover loss , theft or if it broke down and there a little crack on phone! BE CAREFUL

Never again will I go to phones 4 u!!!!!!!!

Threatened to call the police!

They ripped me off over the price, only realised when I had paid, and when I complained they threatened to call the police. Asked for a payg handset and now realise I was only shown more expensive sim-free units. Horrible experience, will never use them again.

Was very disappointed how long the repair took. It took a month to be sorted out they said 7-10 days and never let me know how much longer it would be. Put the phone in repair on the 3rd of January got it back on the 4th of February. Very unhappy with the service.

WORST Customer Service Experience EVER!!!!

I was in the TOOTING BROADWAY STORE where I was buying a MOTOROLA G.

Basically, I am a regular customer to that store and this is my fifth time I am buying phone from them. Because I have been there so many times and I trust them I did not check the phone when i bought it on the spot. I was served by a lady called NARGIS. When i reached my work place and opened the phone i was shocked to see the phone was already used by some one else before. There were many finger prints on the back cover. The screen plastic protector was also removed from the phone and there was lots of finger prints on the screen as well.

Right away I called the store. One of the guy told me to come and they will check it. So i left my work place, go all the way to the store to speak with the STORE MANAGER CALLED ASSED. When I get there he told me it is not a used phone. It is a brand new phone. He checked the phone and insists that it is a brand new phone. Then he told me to wait while he gets two other phone of the same model to verify the faults.

I said to him sorry but to me that does not look like a brand new phone. I showed him all the finger prints and i even showed him the plastic protector that can be clearly seen that some one removed it before. There was also lots of bubbles under the plastic protector. I admit it there can be one or two small bubbles but there cannot be more than that and that also big bubbles. And he was telling me no it is normally us the manager of the store that takes it out to check the phone. I told him no you can also check the phone without removing the plastic protector.

He kept on insisting that it is not a used phone. I then compared the other two phone that he brought to the one i bought from them. He then checked it again and saw that the phone was already on. I kept telling him i did not even use the phone; once i saw the phone it that state i immediately called you and came to the store. Then he said we can change the cover if you like. Then he quickly change the cover.

So what kind of customer service is that? I even told him check the finger prints if you like; it's not even mine. And he kept on saying no we have to open the phone to check it. Why the other two phones did not have finger prints and why the cover was still there? What kind of manager is he? The phone can clearly be seen that it HAS BEEN USED BEFORE.. THIS IS THE LAST TIME I HAVE BOUGHT A PHONE FROM PHONE 4 U.. I WILL ALSO ADVISE ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO STOP GOING THERE AS YOU WILL BE CHEATED BY GETTING AN OLD PHONE INSTEAD OF BRAND NEW PHONE AND TOP OF THAT PAID FULL PRICE FOR A USED PHONE. PLEASE GUYS DO READ ALL THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU GO TO PHONE 4 U AS PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW WHAT LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE 4 U PROVIDE IT'S CUSTOMER AND THAT ALSO FROM STORE MANAGER!!! IT WILL BETTER TO PAY A HIGHER PRICE AND BUY FROM CAREPHONE WAREHOUSE RATHER THAN GETTING A USED PHONE BY PAYING FULL PRICE!!!!!!

Con Con Con of a company

Will never use this company ever again. reported un-happy with phone and tariff after upgrading but within the 7days satisfaction period wanting to cancel contract and company have refused, stating they dont offer 7 day returns on upgrades, this should be made aware to people at the time they process their purchase so that people are made aware of this, not just on their website in another section, this should pop up during the final stages of the purchase.

They sorted it all out - took a while though.

Just got an e-mail saying my order has been successfully completed, they did say i'd have to wait 48 hours but it took them over 3 days that's why I didn't give 5 stars. The customer service was good, could talk to someone quickly unlike BT sport who have 20 robots you have to convince you've got a problem before they'll put you through! Personally my experience with this company has been good so far. Hoping for a quick dispatch so I can have the phone in my hands. Thumbs up overall.
