I have been using PH for over 10 years now, and use it as a reference site for anything motoring related; a source of entertainment; a diary filler; and have met so many like minded people who have become friends.
Joined Pistonheads a while ago, for information it is a brilliant resource, it can also be good for some banter. One or two things do come across as a bit iffy but on the whole it is a decent website.
I joined PH 94 months ago apparently, I was asking about the fun I was having with a knackered car, as it seemed to be full of vaguely helpful people.
Move on a few years, more than few local meets a few PH organised meets, some friends for life and a huge number of car related holidays and days out and I'll never leave.
I could go on about how useful the forums are or the offers of help people get, or the fact the news and reviews are all pretty good for any petrolhead, but that would be missing the point. Get signed up and get involved and I doubt you'll leave.
Cheers Ted for the idea, and all the current team for keeping it going.
Ben
Brilliant news for Sports Car Buffs, brilliant threads and opportunities to find out about whatever you need to and a real sense of community. It's a great forum for keeping in contact and getting technical support, blowing off or having a serious debate.
Downsides - only one really - a rather incestuous relationship with Petrolhead Nirvana. There are other tour companies out there, but the amount of free publicity they get on Pistonheads must be worth many tens of thousands of pounds!
I've been on PH for many years now and have used just about every one of its features. Friendly forums for advice on literally anything, and the classifieds have recently become awesome. If I'm looking for an interesting car (anything beyond a 1.6 Ford Focus, I'll head straight to Pistonheads. Always a fab range of great cars for sale.
There's so much content & community associated with the site that I never feel the need to go anywhere else, it is my online home for all things car related...Ultimately what makes the site is the community, through the years of being a member it has given me many fantastic friends but also many incredible memories/experiences through events organised both by PH staff but also friends in the community, you become a real addict & not many sites out there can boast such a following but also such a sense of real community.
I've been a Pistonheads (PH) member for nearly 5 years now.
It's the place that allows me to get my car geekery out my system in a safe enviroment (i.e not to women in bars, that kind of thing)
It's brought a number of great (if sometimes odd) selection of minds together in both the editorial and in the forums - PH events are always well run and don't have the corporate feel that they could quite easily have. Credit for this must go to both Paul Garlick and Stuart Forrest.
Keep it up.
Dear sir/madam,
I've been on Ph since the very early days when it was effectively a sort of blog. I've watched it evolve and grow into the Goliath of the web it is today. It's the website I and my peers use more than any other. I love the news, the forums and the new classifieds are fantastic now Up and running. I've sold and bought cars on there and advised many friends to do the same.
Keep up the good work fellas!
Craig
I was introduced to the site by a friend nearly five years ago, and have been addicted ever since.
It is such an easy site to use, and without exception any info you require can be found within a few clicks of keyboard. An added bonus is that the management are friendly, and very approachable...something that is rather rare these days.
Five stars PH, keep up the good work!
I've met many many people on Pistonheads in the 8-9 years I have been a member. Attended lots of events and made many good like minded friends over these years.
Biker banter is got to be one of the best boards on Pistonheads with so many people who with a wide range of bikes.
I have also found it to be a place you can ask almost anything and get a helpful reply
And the only downside that I have ever seen is some minor inconsistent moderation but this is not very often at all. All in all the Forum I want to post on and be a member of. Plus I've never spent as much money on forum merchandiser as I have for Pistonheads
I love the classified section, you know you'll be buying a car from a fellow car lover. The forums are a font of knowledge, no matter what make or model you need to know about, and the meetings are well organised and well subscribed by other members.
Pistonheads. It's a fantastic website. Very informative, and very helpful too. Classifieds are very good, and there is always someone in the forums who can help with any enquiry you might have of an automotive origin. The variety of forums have been useful too, and the community within the website is a friendly one as well. I'd recommend this site to friends.
... and is also a reasonably good news service in many ways plus, PH members get to keep tabs on some of the more interesting motoring developments and, on occasion, have access to a pretty good 'potential car purchase/sales/browsing' medium too.
Best for many are the robust, vibrant forum threads where, literally for some, there are at least many hours of amusement / rage / laughter / furiousness to be had.
That it's all essentially f-o-c is just a dribble of tangy icing on a very rich cake.
I've been a Pistonheads member for 10 years and I would say most of my friends are people I met through the site. Fantastic source for all sorts of useful and fun information.
PistonHeads is addictive with views on a wide variety subjects being updated minute by minute.
Reading the views and opinions of people who have the same passion allows lively and generally good natured debate.
It is also an excellent resource, there is always someone around who will have experienced a similar situation and is willing to help with an opinion and solution.
Great up to date motoring news, online forum for enthusiasts and a quick way to sell your motor for under a tenner.
An online motoring bible!
Pistonheads. If you're into cars and car related banter and facts this is the place for you. I've even sold a few cars there over the years, what's not to like...
I really liked this site - the classifieds are great way to get advertising and the forum has a great community.
I have bought and sold a few cars on the classifieds and there is a great selection. the pricing is appropriate and much more value for money than another classified car site.
The forums are lots of fun with users participating globally. there are some great topics and discussions taking place.
Pistonheads.
Unusually, when it comes to the internet, not sex related in any capacity nor for those people who have craniums shaped like pistons, oh no, this is a website for lovers of cars, watches, libertarianism and cats.
Not only does it have the best valued classified advertisements in the known universe, costing a mere £9.99 until it's sold - which won't be long! It also has the single most broadly knowledgeable and amusing regular contributors within the 'Gassing Station' of any forum I've visited on the web. Yes, even that one.
So, waste no more time reading my piffle, grab a piston and head on over to Pistonheads.com*
*piston not necessary, head gratefully received.
A great community site and fantastic automotive news source. Editorial pieces are well thought out both initial concept and content, the forums inhabited by a wide range of people, from all over the planet, whatever question or help you need you will almost always get an answer. The classifieds have become my de facto selling point for anything vaguely interesting, as such are also a first port of call when looking to buy... or idle away a few hours dreaming of what you can't afford.
The best car classifieds, and a great community based site. Love browsing it, like the editorial, enjoy the chat. I've therefore spent a fortune over the last 8 years.
If I could recoup all the money that I've wasted on cars over the years through Pistonheads, I'd spend it on a car. Probably found through Pistonheads.
Been a member on the site for nearly ten years now and have met an amazing group of friends. It's a great place to meet like minded individuals who are nuts about all things petrol.
The one thing that stands out above all else on the forums and the meets is that it doesn't mater what car you drive to be a pistonheader, be it a mini metro or a Ferrari F40, you are always made welcome.
Ive been on pistonheads since the early days, made some great friends, and found out loads of things about buying and running my cars.
its also a great place to find out about racing and ive even picked up a few business tips.
The site is split between the news area and the forums. the journalist driven items are as high quality as any printed media, and the forums cover a vast spread of topics.
well worth a browse.
I've been using this site for years, it's always been a great forum - incredibly busy, but these days you can lose hours in the classifieds, and watch Chris Harris videos. A great way to waste time and build your fantasy garage.

Pistonheads is a place to buy/sell your car.
It also has forums behind it that provide a wealth of information on everything under the sun - quicker than looking in an encyclopedia - gives good advice, and provides hours fun, together with days out, charity works, driving holidays and new friends to be made.
From advice on law to which tent to buy there is a forum and a member with the right advice.
Away from the forums there are some great reviews on all kinds of cars from the latest Supercar to the shed of the week.
Not forgetting for the child within us all the Technic Lego threads !!!

Its so addictive that if spent less time on it and more time working, my wife would be able to afford new clothes

I've been a member now for 10 years or so, the site goes from strength to strength, the new classifieds in particular is very good, much better than Autotrader.

I dislike slow sites, that take for ever to load. Maybe I hit a busy period, but site should be able to cope
Had my car up for sale in a couple of places.
Heard nothing.
My cousin advised I should put it on piston heads.
Put it on, that night a guy rang me, I met him the next day and sold the car!
If you need to sell a car, put it on here!!
A true haven for the petrol head inside you!!! Up to date stories and reviews, the infamous classified sections and of course group events and competitions, this website has the lot!!! Everytime i turn my computer on, this is what i go onto first! Sad but true, but it is a testament to how awesome these guys are!
Nuff said, go check it out NOW :D
This is definatley the site to use if you want to buy/sell a car it has everything you could ever want is either free to advertise for a month or you can pay for a premium advert for the month which is much cheaper than autotrader and I have never had any fraudsters trying to steal from me only genuine interest from actual buyers
