will never buy from pixmania again - 24hr delivery is a lie

ordered a small light camera on monday that i need for a business trip the following monday so paid the extra €18 for 24-48hr delivery. got a call on wednesday that pixmania wanted to verify my details to tackle fraud, fine at least it would definitely be delivered by friday - pixmania promised! today is friday, ive finally got a tracking no for UPS which says the package has just been collected from pixmania and it is to be delivered by REGULAR mail 3-5 working days, estimated delivery time - next thursday! of course pixmania don't have a phone no to call after 1700 on a friday so i'll be in Poland before i can even contact someone there. i wonder will they deliver another camera to my address in poland or even refund me the €18 express delivery charge?? FURIOUS!!

very impressed

I've ordered a couple of things from pixmania now and have been very impressed with the service. The latest, a Sony tx30 camera, I ordered on the tuesday at 5pm and chose the express checkout, I received the camera at 11am on the thursday via UPS, I was notified of dispatch and given a tracking number, what more could I ask?
I would recommend PIxmania.

Poor service

Ordered express delivery, that didn't happen so had to chase to find out why, they said they'd investigate and get back. They didn't get back, so had to chase and find out why. they said they'd re-send the item same day. That didn't happen, so had to chase them and find out why.

You can see a pattern here?

Current estimated delivery is nearly two weeks after I placed the order and paid for express delivery (which they offered to refund, still hasn't happened, will need to chase)

Never ordered ANYTHING but Pixmania took money from my account anyway

I received charges on my account from Pixmania and I have never heard of this company before now. And I can't get a reply or anything. They seem to ignoring my attempts to resolve this issue. I haven't gotten anyone to respond to me and this point my legal department has stepped in because this fraud. I am a peaceful God fearing person. However, I am now very upset and disappointed that Pixmania has ignored this situation regarding these transations.

worst company to deal with for a refund

never ever use this company again.i ordered a graphics card for my computer and had no specific delivery date and so when i had a hospital appointment come up i phoned them and asked if my card was coming on that friday so i could get a neighbour to sign for it and was told no it wont be with you until monday so dont worry.left the house for my appointment and who turns up as im leaving ups with my card.then later we install my new card and it is faulty so has to go back,but i dont have a printer at present so cant print off the returns note i need so phone pixmania and they say they will send them to me.wait a couple of days and phone again and they say they will send again.more time goes by and no returns note so go to my local library and get them printed off and return the card.i then phone pixmania a couple of days later about my refund and get told that once they see the card is in transit they will request my refund on the monday and i get an email on the monday confirming it will be 2-4 before its in my account.then on the wednesday i get an email saying my refund is being processed so i email them to query this and get a reply saying my refund will be in my account on thursday,but guess what its not.i phone them and talk to a manager and he tells me it will be another 2-4 before i get my refund.this company have not got a clue do not use them they never tell the same thing twice and just keep fobbing you off.i am now waiting for my refund but am not too hopeful.the forms i aske for nearly 2 weeks finally arrived today.

Terrible, Awful, unbelievable (Read and Avoid)

This is the very first time I’ve written a review for anything, but I couldn’t let this experience pass without letting people know.

These days we’re used to buying goods from ebay, amazon, currys etc, and receiving a good customer service in terms of ‘order to delivery’. I read some reviews of PixMania before using the service – most negative, but thought “I’m getting a good deal so I can live with that”… I was very wrong. And I’m writing this so others can avoid the pain of PixMania.
My order number: CCL1502877639
I made an order for a Samsung TV costing £1700 at around 3pm on Thursday 20/03/2014. I soon received an email stating that my order had been received, however was awaiting confirmation, which basically meant that PixMania wanted to verify my order. I felt this was reasonable considering the value of the order, and expected someone from Pixmania to contact me to have this cleared and resolved by the end of the day. However…
By 4pm I’d received no further communication from PixMania. I started to panic, as the money had been authorised by my bank and I therefore no longer had access to it, I tried calling Pixmania, they had 3 or 4 numbers, but none of they worked, no ring, nothing, I thought the worst, fraud etc, but checked up on the site and found that it was real so thought I’d wait until the next day. 9am the next day – I call Pixmania, I get through to a rude (robotic speaking) customer service operator “Aiden” who asks around 15 security questions, which I answer correctly (he tells me). Aiden then tells me Pixmania will need a copy of my drivers license and letter with address to confirm my order. I thought, excessive, but OK, no problem. I sent this to Pixmania’s mailbox within 15 minutes of my call with Aiden. I followed up with another call 2 hours later at 11am to check if this was OK, Aiden informs me they still haven’t processed it. I specifically ask for a call back in 1 hour to update me on the progress. 3pm still no call. I call Pixmania (Aiden… again) – they’ve received my email and will process it asap, I’m told. 3.30pm I call Pixmania for another update (bear in mind its been 24 hours since I ordered the TV), I get through to Aiden again (how many telephone staff do they have?). Aiden informs me that my order has been cancelled due to failing the ID validation, I ask repeatedly “specifically, what failed?”, Aiden (the Robot) answers me repeatedly “so, I have to inform you your order has been cancelled”, this is his answer to every question I ask, and part of the reason I call him a ‘robot’. I ask to speak to his boss, which initially he is reluctant to do, he finally passes me onto Adela, who informs me that they do know why I had failed the validation. Adela was actually quite friendly despite the ridiculously terrible customer service. Did I mention that I’d now been on the phone with Pixmania for over 2 hours during the day including time on hold.
OK – so the order has been cancelled, I can live with that but the bank hadn’t been informed of this therefore my money is still inaccessible. I called Pixmania again later to ask Adela to fax the bank ‘confirmation of cancellation’ so that they can release my money, she did this, however the bank didn’t receive it. Anyway its now the 22/03/2014, the transaction still has not been cancelled, the bank tell me it could take 3-5 days for Pixmania to confirm this through Pixmania’s internal system – Great!

In summary – you might save a few pennies, maybe a lot of pennies but you’ll pay for this in the form of non-existent customer service and poor internal procedures. Did I mention that their UK office is actually NOT based in the UK? Its laughable, and in all honestly this review doesn’t do justice for what I actually experienced.

In contrast - i ordered the same TV via PCworld today 24.03.2014 at 9am, cost £200 more than Pixmania however, PCworld called within an hour to confirm and release the order.

Emma - You must be joking when you say "We try and provide the most efficient service to our customers at all times". I sent you an email directly (after finding your email address here) when this issue arose.... you didn't reply. In regards to my bank - the transaction 100% was not cancelled, the first order was put on hold awaiting my approval through the bank which I done immediately, I had to then put through another order beacuase your system wouldn't let me access the first. The money has come out of my account, which i've already mentioned, you'll need to have another look at your records- check both ref numbers CCL1502877688, CCL1502877639. I think it shows how bad your customer service is when you can't actually find the correct records for customer transaction.

Customer service issues

I ordered an Epson V37 Perfection scanner. I'm in the UK and they sent me an EU DC adapter, and also a UK plug (unwired). I asked what they expected me to do with the plug - if I wired that on the cable it would no longer act as a DC adapter (just AC?!)
Initially, Pixmania apologised and sent they'd send out a UK adapter. Then they sent another email saying they couldn't send the adapter but give a £5 refund if I returned the old adapter (at whose cost?)
All very inconvenient. Poor customer service. In the end of the day, I as the customer have done nothing to deserve this treatment of being sent the wrong goods. Pixmania should 'make good' when they send out the wrong items.
_____UPDATE____________________________________________
After some discussion with Emma from Pixmania support, she agreed to a £15 refund for the inconvenience. This is better customer service so I've bumped my rating from 2 to 3 stars. I don't mind companies making mistakes as long as they try & rectify the issue. Now, I'm off to buy a UK DC adapter...

I purchased a camera from Pixmania website on the 1st of March (validation number) CCL1502697370. And made payment with my debit card, which of course was authorised by my bank. I was expecting the order to be delivered only to be called by your representatives that they cannot deliver the order unless I make the order through bank transfer. When I called your company to find out why, the person I spoke to could not provide me with any valid reason as to why in my particular instance I am expected to remake an order, which payment for it has already gone through on my debit card. My gut feeling for being treated this way is that I am being discriminated against simply because my name is an African name. I spent almost 45 minutes on phone with your representative trying to understand why I am required to remake an order that has already been authorised by my bank all over again by bank transfer. In the end he agreed to arrange for the order to be delivered.

The camera was eventually delivered last week Wednesday but not the bag and tripod that came with it as a package. I rang your company again and after much talk I was told this will be delivered. For the simple fact that I work, I left a note at my door for the bag and tripod to be delivered to my neighbour. But the notes were ignored by UPS and apparently the item has now been returned. I rang your company today to rearrange redelivery. And was told by the representative I spoke to that they cannot redeliver. And that, in fact in my particular instance, I am now required to return the already delivered camera and reorder everything through a bank transfer. The representative I spoke to was highly unhelpful and in fact reduced me to tears. I have never in my life had a stressful experience from making an order with a retailer. I will never again my life order anything from this company. And I will urge anyone out there reading this to think seriously twice before buying anything from this company. They sell a little bit cheaper and this is what attracted me to order from them in the first place. But from my horrific customer experience with this company, I really don't think the few pounds you are likely to save is worth all the stress and hassle.

I have been treated by this company as if I am a thief and made to feel absolutely inferior simply because I want to purchase a camera from the company. I asked the representative to give me complaint details. And he rudely gave me a France address. I have so far been speaking to UK telephone number and at no time was I made to believe that this company is actually a French based company. Had I known, I would not have ventured into ordering anything from this company. I have no choice now but to highlight my complaint through this channel of communication. As I am not even certain that anyone will address my complain via the France address I have been rudely given by your representative. I hope someone in position of authority in your company gets to read this and respond back to me as soon as possible.

Need attention to details

Ordered a Blaupunkt 39" BLA39/210 Television. Ordering from the Website was simple enough. Got a phone call to approve the order for security purposes ( fair enough ). Opted for the express delivery. Was able to track the package with the Tracking number provided and that was helpful.
That's where the problem started. Pixmania didn't label the delivery address as I provided them. So on the expected delivery day around noon the UPS status changed to " Incomplete address, UPS are trying to reach the sender to get more details" and then the ETA changed from the Friday to Monday..... I immediately called UPS and advised them of the correct address but they were having none of it and advised the parcel hadn't left the depot. I had to go myself by bus to pick it up and get a Taxi back home. ( I needed it at the week end and I wasn't ready to wait at home another day for an eventual delivery on Monday).

The Package was scratched a few places but the Item was not damaged. The TV is great quality for the price and I'm Happy with it. I was aware it would come with a EU plug but unfortunately they didn't provide an adapter with it.... I had one at home so I wasn't too much bothered but the general feeling is that the full service is not provided.

This is these kind of details that push the customers to come back and purchase again. Please Pixmania fix these little bugs and you will just need to let the great value deals do the rest.

Do your research

I ordered a Samsung UE40F6510 through Pixmania a few weeks ago. Ordered Friday, arrived in perfect condition Tuesday. Was able to track its progress through the UPS website over the weekend, and was very pleased with the timeframe it was delivered in, especially as I opted for free delivery. I had read up on the Company, was fully aware that delivery would be from France and fully expected to find it fitted with an EU plug (which I'm pleased to say they had popped an adapter in the box). All in all, I cannot fault this company. I saved an absolute fortune on this television. I note from the majority of the reviews, the problems start when items need to be returned - lets hope this doesn't happen to me and I remain one of their happy customers.

Cheap product, cheap service.

When purchased, no warranty information was provided in the details. Unlike the other products in the same category, the warranty was half the length of what other retailers offer, but this was never made obvious. Fault was present since day one, but was assumed to be software issue, not hardware. By the time fault was identified as a hardware problem, it was too late. Waste of £150, which would not have happened had I gone elsewhere. Won't buy from again, would discourage anyone else to use.

Waste of Time

Ordered something ,expecting delivery in two days as charged for it called customer services and told items not dispatched some three days later as their system had not matched the payment to the order.
The young lady in customer services ,was in her defense incredibly apologetic ,but it still does not excuse the delay or the lack of communication.
Will not use again and my business is lost to them and will not recommend to anyone

Resellers Beware – Don't Use PixMania!

I am a reseller based overseas trying to use a UK card to buy items off PixMania. I made my first orders over 2 weeks ago after leaving the UK for an extended trip overseas.

My first orders were cancelled within 2 days, even after sending the requested documents to validate my account. After 5 people, 48 emails, 2 faxes, over 70 minutes to Customer Services at 8p/min, and a couple of calls direct to Paris that went unanswered, PixMania STILL will not validate my account OR refund my card with the purchase amounts.

FINALLY, over 2 weeks later, I am given some choices:

1. Sell products at a loss, paying with international bank transfers costing £20 each
2. Do not sell any PixMania products
3. Organise your own refunds through your card company

I just cannot get PixMania to see sense and accept me as a genuine, honest reseller. I was really put in a spot after uploading hundreds of their items and then unable to purchase them as the orders started backing up. I had to make a few losses whilst rapidly sourcing elsewhere.

The last thing I want is for one of my customers to be unhappy and of course I can't sell at a loss with £20 international bank transfers for every sale. I'm a sole trader with 100% positive feedback on Ebay since 2006.

UPDATE: I was forced to choose option 2 and 3 above. Weeks of my time have been wasted. And I received my refunds in 1 DAY from PayPal! I managed to retain my reputation despite many unhappy customers.

Please everyone, just don't deal with this company without wearing a crash helmet. Because you'll need it as you repeatedly bang your head against a BRICK WALL. And yet another order has just come in.....................

UPDATE2: Unfortunately Emma only helps customers not resellers. She referred me back to John Hughes, Account Development UK. John is the reason I bought my crash helmet. I always wear it before reading his emails. John is the man who insists that I make ALL MY PURCHASES through international bank transfer. So my customers must WAIT 10 DAYS for their payment to clear and I SELL AT A LOSS with the hefty £20 bank charge. Come on John, are you really serious? What businessman would offer his customers that sort of service? I think there's something else going on here. I've NEVER had to work so hard to give a company money. And there was a wall of silence when I asked Emma and John for their CEO Olivier Chameyrat's email.

So I've come full circle now. Back to square one. It only took 90 emails and 1 month to achieve!

UPDATE3: should have done a bit more due diligence before making my commitment to Pixmania. 2011 saw Pixmania servers hacked into and customers sent spam emails. Explains why they are so security conscious now and won't even accept orders! They made a loss of £31.3M to April 2013, no surprise there then! Dixon's just paid a German restructuring company £59M to tow Pixmania away! Only 2 things can happen now. It will be run with German efficiency or it will close.

Can't argue with the price or service!

I was a little bit skeptical with how my order of a 16GB flash drive was going to end up after I placed the order then checked the reviews on this site to realise that it was rare to see somebody with something good to say about this site. I placed my order in the evening of Monday the 3rd of February (way past the cutoff point for posting things). I ended up getting an email the next day (Tuesday the 4th) informing me that my flash drive had been dispatched, and it came the next day (Wednesday the 5th) and I never paid for express delivery, I only requested free delivery. I was very pleased with the service and I will be recommending Pixmania to all of my friends.

UPDATE: As a result of this bad review, I was pleasantly surprised very soon after. after emailing as requested by comment from Pixmania, my replacement phone was dispatched yesterday and arrived today. I was very grateful that this issue was resolved so quickly in the end. However, I do feel that Pixmania need to be a lot clearer in how long you should expect a replacement and certainly a lot clearer in emails with their answers to questions. Would I use them again? Not sure, their prices are very good but it seems if anything were to go wrong (and I understand that things can go wrong with products at times through no fault of company), that it will take a while to get resolved. If pixmania sorted this issue out, then I would definitely use them to buy goods in the future.


Bought a Wiko Ozzy dual sim phone on 16/1/2014. Faulty product that worked fine for one week, then broke. would not switch on. After several emails to "customer service" I finally managed to get the phone collected. Still waiting a response to tell me exactly when I would get the replacement. I was told last week that I would have it this week only to be informed today that the faulty product would be in the warehouse for around 10 days before a replacement can be issued. I am absolutely appalled at the slow, dishonest responses I have gotten so far. It shouldn't take this long for any company to sort out a faulty product, that they sold. Would never ever buy from this company again !! would not even give one star to this company!

Nasty surprise inside

Two days ago ordered a phone for a gift, they charged my card and no feedback email, no nothing I had to call them to verify what is going on and they started to ask for proof of id and address. I provided them with the proofs and the order is still on Awaiting confirmation?! Now have to wait until Monday to see if they will send the phone and I may not have it on time for the event, on top of that they already took the money so I am stuck with them!!! If I knew of all the bullshit that will go trough I would had got it elsewhere! And Pixmania don't give me the security crap "It is for security purpose" because you should ask about these details BEFORE CHARGING ME FOR THE PRODUCT!!! I don't care about your policies because they are stupid and should be APPLIED BEFORE THE PURCHASE NOT AFTER!!! If I knew about them before buying will go to another place and will not worry about not getting my gift on time!!! Never seen such idiotic policy anywhere else!

So far I have very bad experience and for sure I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN! Not to mention will warn my friends not to buy either!!

I just received the phone.
Happy days. However...
That was just a brief hope for this seller until I unpacked it and O SURPRISE! The plug is not UK/IE but other EU country with the two way adaptor... now have to buy another one or EU to UK convertor!
Just when I thought that after all everything could be OK.
No such luck.
I am sorry Emma, but I've had enough of your website!
I won't buy anymore from PIXMANIA.IE.

DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PRODUCT BUT SUPERB CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I recently purchased an LG LED Smart TV 3D (Model Number - 42LA620S). Unfortunately I had to send this product back as it was a non UK model and I could not get access to the same perks which I would get with a UK model. There was nothing on the Pixmania website which let me as a UK buyer know that this was a non UK model which I was slightly disappointed about. Having said that the customer service was magnificent my email enquires were all answered very quickly and I was quickly offered a full refund. When sending the item back I was provided with all the relevant information and materials (I still had the original box which the TV came in so I am not sure what would happen if I had thrown the box out) and arrangements where made by Pixmania for a courier to come and collect the TV. Once Pixmania had received the TV and had carried out the appropriate checks a full refund was very quickly returned to my card.

I would certainly use Pixmania again however I would research further into the product before deciding to make any purchases.
