Terrible After Sales Service

Don't use Pixmania.com. Everything is fine when the product is OK (as one was with us) but if you have a damaged or faulty good delivered, the problems start. First, they make it difficult to contact them other than by website (and even then it's difficult to find contact info on them - always the sign or a dodgy company). Pixmania is based in France and believe that, even though UK law states you can return a faulty product within 28 days and receive a full refund, that their company can shorten that to 15 days. So they refused to give me a refund. First they wanted me to speak directly to Sony. When I pointed out I had no relationship with them, only Pixmania, they reluctantly said I should return it to them and they would have it repaired through Sony. It took them five weeks to return it - not the three they promised. Terrible company. They did everything they could to wriggle out of their responsibilities. I phoned them, since the website's customer services area was so appalling (deliberately so, in my opinion), I phoned only to have to wait interminably (I believe another delay tactic) and then get an unhelpful numpty on the other end.

Reasonably satisfied

After reading the reviews which I am happy to say I did after I placed my order, I was concerned that I would have problems but to my delight my order arrived within the time frame given. My only niggle was that I was not advised about the delivery in advance. However the delivery driver rang to advise me that he had tried to deliver and I was not available, being close by I was able to receive my order.

On-Line Payment Problem

I live in France and I recently tried to purchase an Asus Pc monitor from Pixmania via its UK website. As soon as I typed my address as France, I was automatically redirected to its French site where the item was considerably more expensive. As I wanted to pay in sterling and have the item delivered to a UK address, I found this redirection very odd. I telephoned the company in the UK and had no trouble getting through to its call centre. However the lady who took the call was adament that as I lived in France I could only purchase the item via its French outlet. I said to her that surely it was only necessary in this case to get a friend in the UK to order and pay for the item and I would still get it at the UK advertised price. There was no answer to that one. This is what I eventually did and am awaiting word from my friend in the UK that the item has been delivered.
Since then, I have checked the delivery policy outlined in Pixmania's UK website and it clearly states that it is the country of delivery that determines where you must buy the item. I am therefore extremely unhappy that the company has set up an on-line payment method that automatically assumes an overseas buyer wants the item delivered to an overseas address. As in my case, by so doing its UK subsdiary was surely breaking the rules of the UK trades descriptions act as well as trying (through the back door) to get customers to buy at a price other than the one advertised in the UK.

This company is based in France - hence postage times are slow. Also - they posted a small item in a huge box - its suprising it wasnt damaged during transit as there was no protection in the box (foam etc). Not a very bad service just a so so one.

Poor sales service

1. The items arrived 17 days after ordering.

2. The tracking system via Pixmania and DHL Global Services doesn't work.

3. It is very difficult to contact the company other than by their on-line form. They promise a response within 24 hours, but it took 72.

absolute pish

you order from this best company in Europe ..excuse me while I killl a laugh and be serious here. ...You order and you wait and you wait ...you wait beyond the 5 working days...wondering what kind of days they work in Europe because despite God knows how many phone calls which you are being charged for and weeks passing and the 300 quid of your money they have... you are still not only waiting but being passed from this operator to that one. who tell you they will email you tomorrow. Guess what? .....Just stay clear of this company

Deception

An awful, terrible company. The website attempts to trick you into buying useless insurance for your purchase. Useless in many ways, not least due to the fact that Pixmania practice such a dedicated policy of 'customer avoidance' that it is nigh on impossible to speak with a company representative for ANY reason. I ordered a home cinema system from their .co.uk website. It arrived with an instruction book in French, German and several other foreign languages, but not English. And a two pronged plug. Very useful in the UK. Not even an adapter, and certainly no explanation or apology.

Hell will freeze over before I use this shower of a company again, and I urge other shoppers to save themselves, likewise. I duplicitous waste of my time.

BEWARE : Judge the facts for yourself !

Placed an order for an "in stock " item on 01/01/10
Order verified on phone 04/01/10 confirmed in stock to be immediatley dispatched.
06/01/10 email received no stock until 09/01/10
Checked website AM 11/01/10 item in stock but not dispatched
Checked website AM 12/01/10 item in stock but not dispatched
Checked website PM 12/01/10 item temporarily not in stock

Have called to no avail have now emailed with a promise of an answer in 24 hours. Recommendation : Pay the extra £50 and buy the product from a local store save the hassle.

Probably the worst internet sales company I have ever experienced.

Misleading trading - I won't use this French company again

A new Samsung monitor from Pixmania was given to me as a Christmas present from my son. The company state that unwanted presents will be fully refunded if they are advised within 14 days of purchase & the correct returns procedure is undertaken on their website. This is, I suspect intentionally made rather tricky & opaque so that I eventually had to telephone the costly premium number, go through the protracted menu system & then hang on waiting for ages.
Eventually I was sent a reference number & permission to return the goods for a full refund - but this would have to be to France (not UK where it was purchased & delivered) at a cost of £75 carriage to be paid for by me - half the cost of the item.
I regard this as rotten customer service & fairly dishonest, devious trading promising full refund but ensuring that the process would be financially unacceptable.
I will not use this French company again.

The worst online company I have used

Hard drive arrived late, promised refund on postage which has not happened. It came with a 2 pin plug which does not work in UK, promised a replacement plug which has not arrived. The phone line is expensive and a waste of time when you do get through. My e-mails are now being ignored. Ordered item Dec 1st, still not usable.

Not interested once they'd sold me the Sony recorder.

Bought Sony hard drive tv recorder but the instruction manual was entirely written in French. I e-mailed their Customer Relations Dept asking for the manual in English. The reply said that my E-mail had been logged & they would respond. In spite of several reminders, Pixmania totally ignored my request. When buying the recorder there was not suggestion that the manual would be provided in a foreign language. I'll never use them again.

PIXmania sell second hand items as new!

I bought the Pentax K20D (body only), Including Charger, Lithium battery (description exactly the same as on their website).

I have received the incomplete order on 23-03-2009, as there were missing from Pentax K20D (body only) the following items:
- Operating Manual in English, as I live in UK not France, as it was in French!
- Quick Guide
- PENTAX PHOTO Browser 3/PENTAX PHOTO Laboratory 3 Operating Manual
- PENTAX REMOTE Assistant 3 Operating Manual
- Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
- Battery charger

Sent the item back, through online forms I am getting only crap answers like "please wait for some days as the warehouse didn't get the my item yet", but if the people want to do the business properly the UPS URL proves that the item has been delivered to their warehouse.

I tried to file the PayPal claim but PayPal doesn't support the complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received even, if it's even empty box.

After contacting the following people:

I have been refunded in full amount + £15 voucher as a good will gesture.

The above story is last year one, but thought to share true picture of Pixmania service

TERRIBLE SERVICE - STEER WELL CLEAR

Absoltely terrible company.

Ordered item Dec 7th for christmas gift. Now 4th of Jan - still no delivery, no sign of it and no answer from company at all, just the useless computer generated e-mail replies.

Order alot via Internet - this the worst experience of all by far.

Awful service, awful everything. You have been warned!

Incorrect information published

I placed an order online for a Panasonic DMC-FZ38 on the 18th December. Their website stated 'in stock'. However, the next day I received an email stating despite their best efforts they could not source the item. Very disappointing for such a large outfit, and at such an important time of year when customers such as myself need to rely on published information being correct rather then being misleading as was the case.

Avoid at all cost

Bought a camera after specifically confirming over the phone if it was in stock and would be delivered by a particular date (just before I went on holiday).

Did it turn up on time? No. When I called back they didn't seem to care at all, and it transpired that they take their 'delivered date' as delivered to the UK distribution centre, not to your house. It's not at all clear from the website that the product is actually sent from France to the UK and will therefore have a European plug, with a UK adaptor included. Which is a problem if you don't have much space for the plugs.

poor customer service and no stock

i ordered a tv - the site showed stock with 5 day delivery 7 days later with no tv arriving i rang customer services who told me still no stock with no idea of when it would arrive. I cancelled the order on the phone and then again by email after a further phone 10 days after my first canellation call i finally got confirmation that i would be getting a refund in another 5 working days - far from satisfactory . The stock levels arent to be belived and their customer service is disjointed and unreliable.

I Would never use this company again

I tried to purchased a camera, web site said stock however a few days later out of stock, tried phone calls and emails to try to cancel order and recover the money without success. Thankfully I paid using paypal. who forced them to refund. The HQ is in France I think and the phone calls to 0870 for 20 minutes at a time could become expensive if you have problems. I would Just use someone else based in this country! But call them first to see if they are legit.

Flawless

Absolutely no problems here. I was a bit concerned when I read some of the reviews but I just received my pc steering wheel 3 days after ordering online. There was a slight delay in processing the order but my email was answered the same day and the goods arrived on time through DHL and in perfect condition. I would use this company again. Yes goods do seem to come with continental plugs but you can use UK shaver plugs to resolve this.

Dereadful company

Bought a router from them and asked for express delivery. Dodn't arrive in the alloted time so ask them to cancel the item. Even though the product was in their warehouse I could not cancel!

Also it arrived in French, the instructions were in french and the box was in French.

Totally unreliable company!

dreadful company

I ordered a camera 10 days before I needed it for my holiday as it was meant to be 48 hours delivery. I had an email the next day to say the camera had been dispatched and giving me a tracking number. The next day I tried to track my camera (being delivered by DHL). DHL told me that they had received the data for the package but no package and told me to talk to Pixmania. This was a vicious circle, Pixmania said they had sent it but DHL hadn't received it. I asked Pixmania to send me a replacement but they refused. I asked for a refund but they refused.
I received the memory card which I had ordered along with a VIPix card which I DID NOT order. This had been added to my invoice (£10.35) and there was nowhere I could cancel it. I rang Pixmania to ask them to cancel it but they said they couldn't - the card would give me cheaper postage for the next year!!
As I had paid by Paypal, and 10 days had passed I logged a complaint with Paypal. I eventually had all of my money refunded by Paypal today, a month after my order. The camera never showed up and i did not receive any explanation from Pixmania. I would never use them again and never recommend them to anyone!

unable to cancel order in advance even when it is Not in stock

I ordered a Samsung printer on 26th September 2009, when I ordered on that day, the printer was in stock shown on their site, so I proceeded... To find out a week after it was out of stock! To which I was told to wait a week, then I decided to cancel the order, on 2nd October 2009, I was told an "email" was to be sent to their head office for the refund to proceed, great I thought! I waited... On 12th October 2009, they decided to post out the printer when they finally had stock to which I said I wanted a refund and NOT the printer delivered! I guess they'd hoped I'd accept it after waiting so long, did they think I would wait THAT long?! I rang up again today 14th October 2009 to chase up my refund and was told "oh, another email has been sent to the head office as the first one wasn't processed!" WHY??? I asked and a reply of "I do not know" and "It could be that the warehouse had it ready and packed up already" okay.. Then why on earth was it not posted out a week at least ago?!!

So, NOW, I have to wait another week or so, for their "head office" to proceed a refund, that is IF they read the emails! We don't have a direct number, nor any contact details directly to them! Their "help desk" don't seem to be able to do anything other than a email to their "head office"

So, how do we complain? well, we simply CAN'T! Well quite difficultly anyway!

oh and Value for money? Yes, but for a different price to pay! TIME!

If you want to buy from this place, please make sure its something that you do not need quickly!

Worst company around

One of the Worst Online Retailers (Buyer BEWARE)

15 months ago I bought a washer dryer from Pixmania. Recently it broke down I called an engineer to be told that it was beyond repair. I contacted customer services by e-mail and phone supplied photos and a written statement from an independent engineer. They have told me I have had it 12 months and it is not there problem. They are not interested in the UK Sale of Goods act nor are they moved by UK county court action. This company has been a nightmare to deal with and with a family to keep with clean washing I have been left with no other option than to get my credit card company to charge back the purchase. Very bad it should also should be noted that this company also belives it is above the law in Denmark as well and has featured many times there on consumer watch dog programs.

Big Corporation, Little Love.

The short and sweet:

I bought a package "deal" from their store. I got a MP3 player, and a set of headphones. They both break within a year, not their fault though. The RMA process was a mess though. Took long, and I didn't get what I was expecting. I got the MP3 player, but the headphones, they simply gave me 1 euro for. I complained, and complained, but no. Their argument was that the headphones were added alongside the MP3 player, for a Euro. Which actualy made the MP3 player MORE EXPENSIVE then what it would have been, had i bought it seperate.

An online store should make the process of buying, easier, they just try to scam you at every corner. They have a horrible reputation on the net, somthing I hadn't heard of before I purchased from them. For an online store, thats appauling.

Useless customer support

Having spent £1,500 with them I would have expected some loyalty in return. 1 of the items has not been delivered, i'm now 2months down the line, a dozen emails sent and three phone calls later no joy and the same stupid generic email sent back each time I try to get some joy - email below

Wish I'd got my monitor from somewhere else, I would not recommend this company at all. Just as well I wasn't in a rush as it took 3 weeks to finally get my order.

Dishonest, non-existant customer support

Ordered a TV claimed to be in stock. It has not been in stock for 3 weeks in spite of their website claiming it is (still). Charged my credit card anyway. Cancelled by phone yesterday, was promised confirmation e-mail and card refund. Have received neither. There is no e-mail or postal address which you can use to communicate with them in writing. Avoid like the plague.

Dreadful customer support, very disappointed with the Portable DVD I bought for my boyfriend as a Christmas present, I wouldn't advise any of my friends to buy there, the charger doesn't work and you have to pay for the whole thing to be sent back because of this and you have to pay for the postage, judging by the customer experience that I have had I am reluctant to send the unit back as I do not believe that I would

A Nightmare to communicate with

The price is a lure to buy, but if the goods fail your problems are just beginning.
Make sure you you compose all messages in a word processor and save it Copy and paste into the hard to find message box and hope that it is read.
Do not expect a relevant reply but copy and save it to your files. Your best chance of success is locate the CEO in France and write directly to him, the web-site mail box messages can be long winded and drive rational thinking people to exasperation. I am afraid after two experiences I will not use them again.
