Bought 2 games from Play Asia, so far it's been 3.5 weeks since the order was placed and it's yet to be despatched to Australia. NO idea if it will actually turn up. Customer service do NOT respond to emails. Very poor service, better off going elsewhere (and yes this is a genuine review not a competitor bagging them). Plenty of better gaming shops online who will respond and actually send the item. Won't be buying from them again.
I will never buy from this shop again. I actually had no better option at the moment, and now I really regret it. Ordered a digital psn card which is overpriced by 11$ (which is twice as much as it is usually), got confirmation and all fast enough, but that's all. No code. Still delivering. It's already past their 24 hours delivery promise, and it is a DIGITAL delivery. How long does it take to send an email with a code? Or update it right in my account? In other places it is a matter of minutes. In play-asia, well... I have yet to see if I'll ever get it...
Absolutely unacceptable.
"Play asia was a decent store and reliable in 2008, but now am very disappointed with their offer of service, in one month i got two packages returned in a row without them notifying me that it was returned. And the reason was because "my address is not complete" i have been ordering with this address for the last 5 years and just when i chose the cheaper shipment my address becomes invisible. Their solution was to upgrade to a more expensive shipping company if i want the item or refund me. Plus the time wasted, i waited 1 months for 2 packages. Am never going to buy from them again."
Play-Asia is a decent enough service when your orders arrive and you don't need to use their customer service system, if you're unfortunate enough to have an order or 2 lost in the post, your experience will turn from satisfactory to just plain dreadful.
Sure enough, I had 2 orders over a period of time that either weren't sent or were lost in the post. After getting the run around in regards to refunding I decided to open a dispute and got my money back via Paypal for the lost orders in question and continued to use the website as usual chalking it up as a bad experience.
One day, I received a notice from the customer service years later telling me I had a dispute open which was completely untrue and that they would no longer serve me, I explained my situation and needless to say the level of customer service received border lined on dreadful.
We all have had items lost in the post in our lifetime, especially if we're buying from abroad and I think everyone here could understand that, needless to say one day I placed an order and not long afterwards it said 'refund pending'. Not only was this company refusing business because they refused to accept something was lost in the post, they made me go through the effort of having to use Paypal to refund after making a dispute.
Never have I seen a level of customer service so dire, I quite literally shake my head at the awfulness of the service provided, for them to turn away a long time customer who has had 2 items lost in the post is just plain ridiculous and disgusting.
Play-Asia need to get better customer service reps and understand that Items do get lost in the post. The postal system isn't perfect, blaming your customers and refusing to serve them just shows how poor of a company this is. I rate this company 2 out of 10.
I would like to conclude that treating your customers better, and with respect will earn you a better name for yourself, blaming your customers for your company's own short comings will accomplish nothing.
I've been buying from Play-asia for years, not once have I had a problem with this site. I've had more orders than I can count and not one of them has been less than satisfying. Never had an unpleasant response e-mail as others on this site have suggested.. even after asking them a few times about the status of a back order they have been prompt and polite. I usually get the best shipping method with insurance when ordering packages and if there's a problem after that it's because of customs, not the company.
I should have learned the first time buying from these guys. Everything is fine except for the shipping. They shipped it the next day of my order and responded to my email quick as well but the shipping itself is just unacceptable. It takes 3+ weeks and thats just ridiculous. I would pay a little more if another site offers the same game. Avoid these guys at all costs.
I recently made a purchase with play-asia.com and I have nothing but good things to say. I started out with some questions on a product I wanted to buy and I received a response as soon as their shop opened.
I then proceeded to place an order however my bank was giving me some issues so I had to place it again the next day. Play-asia noticed that I had two pending orders and promptly asked me if one was a duplicate before making any assumptions. I of course let them know that one was a duplicate and it was resolved immediately.
The item I bought Final Fantasy XIII-2 Asia came with free shipping but I opted for FedEx which costed me about $15. I felt the speed increase and peace of mind was worth the extra money. My item was shipped within 24 hours of placing my order and had I not placed the order right before the weekend I probably would have had it in two days, though it arrived bright and early on Monday just before my shift at work started.
Their packaging was good, double bubble wrapped and the order even included a $5 coupon for my next play-asia purchase. The game worked as advertised and I couldn't be happier. For all of your import gaming needs I would say go with play-asia. To me customer service goes a long way in who I do business with. They have proven themselves to me which means I will be placing many more orders in the future.
i ordered, a Nintendo DS Lite, Japanese version. Much better quality, then the U.S. Version. There games, are great, the candy is awesome, and, they have cool stuff, like, hot water bottles, inside of stuffed animals. Super cool, site. Be, polite, cause, you can't get that stuff, anywhere else.
The site provide a verity of games and I have made several purchases from it. I received them all and I was happy with the service. You have to be careful to select the correct game for your system so that you don't be ending with an NTSC game and your system is PAL. Or the language is not supported.
ordered 2 xbox games here but never received anything. unfriendly customer support, and the worst part is that they refuse to cancel and refund my order! it is a nightmare to deal with them, horrible site!
I waited over 2 months for 2 of my jap ps3 games from playasia.com. they don't respond to your emails at all unless you dispute them. very unfriendly and bad email tone that they told me to wait for the back-ordered games. After I open a dispute for a 2 months wait with no games, they all the sudden send me a very nasty email cursing me. They are totally horrible and I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy here. stay away from fraud.
I love Play Asia. Most times it's my first stop for games (more PS3 than xbox these days) but I like the prices and the delivery is very reasonable. Always good customer service. Highly recommended!
Play-Asia - lot of interesting and rare Asian stuff. On the other side, I've found slight plain finding around the site, they could improve here. Prices would say wasn't particular cheap, neither I could say about the shipment costs. Whatever you choose, it's about twice or more than other places. Unsatisfying and totally rip-off.
The money was however well spend, thanks to quick dispatching and FedEx, my stuff arrived Europe impressively fast and secure.
An issue however arrived on one of my items, but that lead me to try their RMA. Play-Asia responded well and fast to my questions with only few misses. They doing great.
Overall pretty good. I wish they refund in cash and not in store credit, appears they don't. The biggest down was actually FedEx. They wanted to charge me three times afterward in taxes, yes three times. This might not have much relation to the store. I would still advice Danish costumers to take attention when choosing FedEx. The local office surly don't know what they doing.
Play-Asia is a great website as it stocks a lot of difficult to get items in Europe, the prices are a little steep but I suppose if you are looking for hard to get items then you have to expect a price hike. The shipping is where I would say this company loses out on getting the other two stars, it takes a long, long time to get to it's destination and I felt that once you order from them and they have your money they are not very forthcoming with their communication.
Ordered a few rare Dreamcast games and some toy figurines a while ago from Play-Asia. The site is great. If I remember correctly, shipping was a bit slow but I didn't mind, they had to go half way around the world right?
This company is a great company to buy from I have gotten every item I have bought from this company on time they offer fed ex and ups shipping to get your items on time air mail is currently not reliable as it takes too long to get your items their customer service is excellent they always get your answer within 24 hrs they have great prices you will not be disapointed with this company
Play asia, took my money for a video box set i wanted to order, and i never recieved the product. Thier website is user-unfriendly, impossible to get any information from them about whats happening.
Sometimes they ship a little late so that's because only 4 stars. They have good customer support and shipping is usually very fast.
