Ordered a printer this afternoon. Received an email saying this is a EX-demo item, which they never mention at the first place while placing the order. Probably happening the same with other customer. people BE AWARE of this company. Also website seems like from the age of my grandfather. 1 search took 3-4 min to load the result. below is the Message I have received from them....
You have recently ordered a Samsung ML-4510ND from us. I wanted to confirm the condition with you before we arrange Despatch.
The printer is in mint condition, Ex-Demonstration (with a small amount of Evaulation use) and comes boxed with Manufacturer Warranty.
Please confirm this is suitable so we can arrange delivery

I gave Porthale a very difficult sourcing problem of some near obsolete lamps, which they were quick to respond to, kept me well informed at all times, and ultimately filled the order. Porthale were not the cheapest, but they were certainly the best. Others offered better prices, but then could not deliver, which is no good to anyone. I will be using Porthale again in the future. Very pleased.
Overall, when I have dealt with the people at Porthale, I have experienced a freindly and professional reception from the staff who are willing to help in any way possible. However, I do find it frustrating that their website cannot be updated real-time with stock levels. In todays industry where every sale counts, being able to purchase an item that shows as being in stock, only to receive an email later to say that the item was cancelled as being out of stock is very frustrating and time wasting because you have just gone through the payment procedure only to have to do it again on some other site. I don't believe it would be too hard with todays technology availble to tie the internal stock system to the website. Even with external suppliers, a stock level email would be enough for someone to update the website manually within half an hour to an hour each day or so.
That being said, I would still use Porthale as a prefered supply due to the level of service I have received in the past.
I placed an order, it was out of stock. I questioned why they advertise items which are in stock when they are not, only to get their Director email me and say "Don't contact us again". I then asked him not to email me, and then he began to harass me by sending emails from a Hotmail account. Considering reporting this to the police.
Hi I ordered one laptop but order was rejected on the grounds that they were out of stock.I was astonished to discover that same product was available on their website for higher price ( 40 pound increase) . They could have told me that price has gone up ,etc but they decided to cancel my order.Anyway then i ordered it from other company in the end for price similar to new price on porthale as I didn't like their dishonesty.
I was requiring and Item other suppliers had as out of stock, but Porthale were showing items being in stock. So to check I emailed them first to check if this was correct. I was inform they were out of stock but getting some in later. I waited two weeks, emailed again, item was now in stock. Placed my order and I had delivery by next day. My contact at Porthale, Luke, was very helpful, responded to phone queries when wanting other product or advise. Also prices beat competition, but service is better. I can recommend this company.
These advertise items at very competitive prices and allow you to order but don't expect to receive your items, customer service is very poor and you would be better sticking to a reputable high street company and pay a bit more. I have dealt with a large number of suppliers on the internet but none so poor as this lot.
I placed an Order with Porthale Services for an item I believed to be discontinued and I was shocked to find that not only did they still have one of these items in stock but that their price was extremely reasonable considering its rarity.
I was furthermore impressed with the level of professionalism as my Order was confirmed with a Despatch Notification and Tracking Details as well we received a fully professional Company Invoice for our records following the Order.
