I was looking for a 5 dumbbell rack which only Power House had. I wanted a short Bodymax Dumbbell Rack less than 6 Upright One and I got it from Powerhouse, no other web seller or shop had this one. It was delivered very quickly and they gave me tracking number as well for Parcel Force Delivery.
Nice easy transaction, free postage which is impressive for the size and weight of packaging. Questions got answered quickly and where easy to understand. Would definitely shop with powerhouse fitness for any more of my fitness equipment.
The site is easy to use and have a range of high quality Rowing machines, after searching online for different sites selling the rower I was after, powerhouse was the cheapest and even offered interest free credit. The rower was delivered in a couple of days and in perfect condition! It was easy to put together. It would be good to see powerhouse offer an extended warranty. But No complaints whatsoever.
Talk about terrible customer service this rivals British Gas, Barclay's, and any mobile phone provider you may choose and make them all seem perfectly acceptable. I am willing to accept that if you have stock problems that a 6 week extra wait is alright but then to create such problems when you have the item in stock for just a simple question - What day do you intend on delivering the goods.
In 1 week of ringing I did not manage to elicite an answer instead I got a whole range of staff making this simple question so complicated as to make it impossible. The attitude and service was down right offensive on the mild side together with being absolutely rude and aggressive on the other.
I was passed from department to department and then if that was not enough I had one debate with one manger who kept on saying she could not deal with this and that I need the web ording department. Then when I rang back now this offensive woman was suddenly the only woman in the whole of the company able to answer my simple question. Considering before she was adamant that as a manger she could not deal with this.
I don't have time to deal with idiots like this. When is are my goods arriving and an email saying sometime after the 26th Septmeber does not help. Its bad enough that you have to wait in but when you can't even find out a dispatch date is reprehensible. Then you tie in the fact that Powerhouse then said if you want to know when it is arriving contact TNT. No condignment number and powerhouses order number wasn't acceptable to them.
This manager was something else, she knew exactly what she was doing.
The bike is sturdy, but relatively easy to put together. An 18Kg wheel is optimum for a sustained and effective work out, There is no rock and the whole mechanism is relatively quiet.
There was unfortunately some damage in transit (some freight companies are not so very careful), but the tech department at Powerhouse were helpful in sending out replacement components and that was sorted out very quickly.
Really pleased with the bike!
From website to delivery everything was clear, concise and trouble free. I was also in your Glasgow store recently and the staff were very helpful. Great service all round. Thanks for making the effort.
I ordered on the Monday and it was here by the Wednesday, i was most pleased about that.
The company seems very well run and the website is easy to use, very professional.
However, my only little niggle was that the packaging of the product was torn, this made me ponder over if it was a reconditioned item. Nevertheless, the product does its job and is exactly what i wanted.
in the world of internet shopping deliveries should be as promised. Paying cheaper companies can be tantamount to 'you pay peanuts and get monkies'. This chaos may not be your fault but it reflects. I order so much on the internet that I am keeping notes of which delivery companies fail and refuse to use vendors in the future who persist in their use.
I recommend powerhouse fitness as my main provider of choice. Great range of kit and all good quality. Fast and efficient delivery
As I'm still waiting for an engineer to come with a replacement part, I feel I can't really complete a recommendation. (I had two right hand parts instead of a left and a right)
It took forever to get someone to look into this. I kept getting told people had emailed and it was probably in my junk folder, despite me repeatedly calling and saying I wasn't getting any email.
So, I've spent £500 and I'm still waiting to use my equipment...
I just hope that I'm not charged for this 'engineer' when he finally shows up....
Bought this for my misses as we train together and the olympic bar is a little heavy. All good but a piece of metal flaked off the spin lock and cut her finger and lots of blood. Not a happy camper!!!, never had any probs with kit from powerhouse and I'm sure that this was just a one off
I was looking for some decent iron dumbbells that didn't cost the earth. Powerhouse Fitness had a good range at affordable prices, so I ordered a 30kg set.
Delivery was super-quick and I can't fault them at all. I highly recommend them.
Problems with ordering, then 3 week delay with product delivery. Had to chase my order up rather than proactive management.
Equipment seems good and price was good, just a wee bit amateurish with the service.
Items not delivered on time and incomplete when they did arrive. Long lead times and appalling customer service. Customer service telephones go unanswered but surprisingly (not) sales calls are responded to immediately.
Everything I ordered online was "in stock" at time of purchase, I even called powerhouse before placing one order to ensure it was in stock as I needed it fast; however despite online items being "in stock" and being told over the phone what I wanted to order was in stock, I received an email a couple of days after I had placed the orders telling me they were out of stock. I had to wait two weeks for one of my orders to be back in stock and when I received an email telling me of the delivery date, I rearranged my days off work to receive the delivery. It never turned up ! I wasted a whole day waiting at home for it.when I called powerhouse to find out what was happening they didn't even know what courier they had sent my order with so had to wait another two days for them to track down the order ! Like I said, prices are ace, stock & delivery not so ace.
Placed an order online at the start of August 13 - my order has JUST been delivered October 13! The products are great, the prices are great but i would recommend giving these guys a call first to check availability or you might find your in for a long wait. I had delivery dates put back twice as goods were on the way from China - clearing customs etc. It would have been nice to have an email to let me know the ETA when I placed the order.
Very quick to accept my money and I checked via the sales line that a items were in stock. Over two month later only 1/3 of my items have been delivered. I have been promised several times that items would be delivered on specific dates but nothing arrived. Each time I have arrange for somebody to be home. Now I'm trying to get my money back. I suspect it will be a long and stressful process. So far no response to my request and I could not get any response when I rang. I fact my call was routed to a shop ( so they claim) to a person who could not assist with the order. Very very shoddy.
Ordered goods arrived well packaged and on time. Unfortunately we had to return the products as they were not suitable. Customer services were extremly helpful and we received a refund in full with no hassle at all. Will definatly be shopping here again. Many thanks.
Ordered a fitness centre ad was promised delivery on 27th Sept. On the 27th, I phoned up for an estimated time, I left messages on the answerphone, but no-one got in touch. O I phoned the Sales Number and spoke to someone and he said "Oh yes you are missing some weights", I said "No, I haven't had anything yet, I am phoned for an estiamted time of delivery", he then said "Oh yes, someone wil call to arrange delviery in a few days", I then said "No, its supposed to be delviered today", he then said Oh yes, it will be delviered before 6 o'clock", it wasn't.
A pallet turned up on Monday morning (30th Sept) but missing a number of items, I have phoned the mythical CUstomer Services Line again and have left a message, but have no faith someone will call (indeed I wouldn;t bet any money tha no-one even listens to the messages"
It is a shame because the equipent (from an initial inspection)looks quite good.

I've been building up a home gym with years, it was always my dream to have my own space to do whatever I wanted to in. The lads have been great, even when I chat to them about different bits of kit without ordering anything there and then. Postage has been reasonable, especially shipping pallets of weights/rack/bars over to Ireland!
I've wanted extra hooks externally on my rack and they've gotten them in, I've gotten different bar handles for my pulldown attachment and I've always been very happy with the quality and price, and especially the service.
Delivery is prompt and any bother is dealt with by a quick phone call, not like some sites that take your money and then go silent with no indication if your order is being sent or when it might arrive.

Powerhouse have had some very good points, and some pretty bad ones - I have to say that things have been resolved ( I believe ) but I'm waiting currently two _more_ weeks for the delivery of the majority of my equipment.
The sales process seemed seamless, and, over the phone, they were willing to give me an excellent deal, making them by far and away the cheapest source of weights that I could find - being well below £2 per kg. They were happy to arrange with the courier for delivery on the day of my choice - all great so far.
I rescheduled with the courier, ( my bad ) and there was no problem with this, for the day after the previous delivery. Courier turned up within the given time frame ( 1pm - 4pm arrived at 15:50 ) but with only one pallet with less than 1/2 of the items that I'd ordered ( and not the useful half - I have a load of bars, but no weight plates ... ) Turns out that the items that I've ordered "Aren't in stock" and I should have been informed about this at the time. By the way, they are still listed on the website as being available - but I was told that it "says on the website that this isn't a live stock feed" - too right, as over a week of them being out of stock, they are still listed as being in stock ... ( oh, and by the way, I can't find that statement anywhere, even in the T&Cs it doesn't say that despite other disclaimers about accuracy ...)
In the process of chasing it up, I couldn't get through to the relevant team, and was told that someone would call me back - that didn't happen either, and that is a pet hate of mine.
The products that have arrived _so far_ are of a good standard, and were well packed, just they are a bit useless without weights to hang on them, and I've got a fairly significant wait, and _another_ day off work to accept the delivery ( which can occur between 9am and 6pm - you can only find a more detailed time on the day - so a 1/2 day isn't even a possibility ... )
Product was excellent and much better than I expected for a great price.
Powerhouse really helpful when I had queries over delivery and installation. Called to see if could deliver & install prior to my mum's birthday and was given the honest answer... No.
However Powerhouse did also say that 95% of previous orders for my product had been assembled at home and the last caller to ring in regarding assembly was a young woman assembling by herself.... this gave me the confidence to install myself. Saved £175 and only took 2 hours of my husbands time!!! lol.
On top of that the communication from them was shocking!
I purchased an Olympic a Barbell set which arrived yesterday. The product itself looks like good quality so no complaint there. However my experience was soured by the attitude of Customer Service staff and the Carrier they employ when my order didn't arrive between the time they said it would. It wasn't too late when it arrived but the point was when I rang the Carrier told me he had delivery down as being 5pm as opposed to before 12pm, so my initial reaction was half my day had been wasted and my time, like theirs, is money and when I pointed this out to the Customer Service Team the reaction I got sounded quite aggressive and the call back from someone higher up I was told I would get never came. The attitude of the carrier company was also arrogant and disinterested, like he was doing me the favour!
The Customer Service Team and the Carrier Service need to remind themselves that it's the Customer that keeps them in jobs.
The 7ft bar is solid and fits the role I purchased it for perfectly(squats/deadlifts/pressing). Website was easy to navigate, and fairly quick delivery, would recommend this site to friends and will be using it again myself.
