I had used Priceline a few times, liked it, then had a recommendation to try Expedia.
I tried Expedia....they lied about fees then requested more money for my trip after I had paid.
It was almost too late to rebook, especially at such a discounted price.
I went to Priceline and told them what happened. They worked and got my trip rebooked exactly how it had been planned for almost as good a deal....but At the last minute.

Priceline Rocks.
( and having the negotiator-Mr Shatner on your side is pretty cool too)
I needed a hotel room and tried the "Name your own price" option. The instructions were clear, the process was very quick and smooth, and the results were better than expected. I will certainly use this again.
We always use Priceline first when checking for rates and usually they have the best ones, even on short notice. Now and then we'll see something on Hotwire, but most of the time, with Priceline we get great rates at great hotels. Nothing better than being in a 3-star hotel without paying full price.
None of the other website found the hotel at this price at the last minute.
I chose the Express deals tab , and on three different occasions, I paid 50% of posted rates. All were 3.5 star hotels at great prices. I am a true believer of Priceline.com
Both times I received much more value than I could have at any other website. Now that I am comfortable with Priceline, I will use it again and again.
I have just used Priceline for about the 15th time. (all name your own price) I have been extreemly happy every time. When I talk to family and friends about Priceline, the thing they never understand about the name your own price is that all price points being equal, you get the highest guest rated hotel at that star level or higher. My last two name your own price stays, I put down for a three star and received a three and a half hotel. Priceline needs to explain this more and let people know that your are not just looking at a city, but it is broken down to many specific parts of a city or area. You can really narrow it down. The day of bids will get you the best rate.
GREAT WAY TO GO, WITH PRICELINE.COM
Priceline did find us a nice hotel, but after we checked in we realized that if we had just went to the hotels personal website we could have saved money! I thought that was supposed to be pricelines job, guess they fell short this time.
We were thinking Priceline was THE answer until they booked us a room at a hotel that had only smoking rooms left! So that leaves very mixed feelings cuz we've done great with Priceline. Nice hotels, good prices, but if there's anything I can't stand its a smoky room! Will think carefully before using Priceline again
I travel a good bit on business, and Priceline is the only travel site I use. I get consistently good pricing there, often less than the "convention rate" that the hotel I am staying at is offering. I find their ratings to be accurate, and they seem to be well respected by the participating hotels. I have never been questioned or had an issue with a Priceline reservation for any reason.
Using Priceline has worked at times and others not.
This time Not good. The place was a dump. I am 1 bad for 3 good so I guess that is good odds. I would have hoped that they would screen hotels a little better in this case.
It was only one night.... thankfully.
My son and I recently visited my daughter up in the Pacific Northwest. Even though I had booked the flight over a month in advance, we could never finalize hotel plans. Since I basically wanted the best deal, I decided to give Hotwire and Priceline a try since I've never used either service before. Out of our four nights up there, I used Priceline to book three of our hotels because they seemed to give a the best deal. BTW, I never did use the "name your price" feature but only their last minute deals. I feel we stayed at good places with some really great deals. My only regret is I didn't use Priceline for our first night in Olympia but used Costco travel instead. Sadly, that night is the night we spent the most on a hotel. Next time I travel, I will definitely check out Priceline prices again.
I love Priceline. Priceline is the first company I contact for hotels and flights. The rental car exceeded all my expectations.
I've been using Priceline for many years now. TYPICALLY I save money here. I always start with Travelocity then check against Hotwire. But usually I go with a Priceline bid. Oh, and I see people booking lower star hotels .... don't even try that. ALWAYS book 4 and 5 star hotels. The savings are much better.
I use this site very frequently , It not only helps me to get the best price, but also gives a good description of the hotels , I've never been disappointed using Priceline
You won't believe how cheap it is when you name your own price.
Very easy transaction i got exacly what i asked for at an unbelievable price 4 star resort for $45 a night plus tax $55 no extra fees from hotel like other people are claiming here. I had a great expirience and i would recommended to anyone :-)
The day we had reserved was the same day a tropical storm was brewing. We called and priceline got us a refund; even though they said they usually don't do this. That was great.
However we rebooked on a different day and the hotel we received was great. we selected 2 1/2 star option and ended up with the Jameson Inn. It was very clean inside and out. We were 100% satisfied.
I booked a one night stay at a hotel through Priceline's "name your own price" bid. I thought I was getting a good deal. Upon checkout I received a statement from the hotel that showed the room was cheaper then I paid ($6.00 difference). Which, I could understand that is Priceline's profit margin. Then, I noticed after calculating the taxes and fees, I also paid an additional $8.00 fee. This is unreasonable considering it was only a $40.00 room! I hate to see how large of a fee they are actually changing for more costly reservations! I will not be using them again. I will use other internet service providers that are honest about the fee charges!
I have been using this site for sometime now and have had to take a couple of trips where i had to find a nice and cheap hotel on the fly and Priceline has treated me right every time and been consistently lower than anyone else. The name your own price feature is fun and easy to use. I love it!
Priceline doesn't listen to customers. Tried to refund a trip (which I bought travel insurance for) since the band we were traveling to see cancelled the concert. No understanding whatsoever. This was a first wedding anniversary gift to my husband - what a total bummer all around. We've purchased all of our trips from the last 7 years on Priceline (including our European honeymoon last year), but we will no longer be customers, since they genuinely don't give a crap. Life's too short to do business with rotten companies - save your money and book elsewhere.
I was skeptical of Priceline's negotiate your own price service, but decided to give it a try. What I quickly learned was that, while you can get really great prices, you have to do a little research first. For hotels make sure that you read the details of every hotel in the area and level of hotel that you are looking for because you may end up with the one hotel that has an exorbitant parking fee, for example. If one hotel does have extra fees, then it may be better to bump up a rating level or down a rating level if none of those hotels have those fees.
Just do a little research before negotiating a price and you will get great value for the money!
Also I recommend being a well-rated reviewer on a site like TripAdvisor so that if a hotel "cops an attitude" because you got a great Priceline price and they want to give you a lesser room, etc., you can let them know that you will be happy to write them a review (be it good or bad).
I have always had great experience with the Name Your Price bookings. As long as I do a 2 1/2 star or above I have never been disappointed in Priceline. The only thing I wish would be hotels would still give points for their club members in spite of booking through priceline.
Always get good deals at wonderful hotels! Priceline has given us reasonable rates at excellent hotels. We've only been disappointed once and they refunded us a portion of our hotel bill. We don't use anyone else but Priceline for our travel needs. We've used others and they don't compare!
A Thumbs Up And Five Stars To A Marvelous Company! We Saved Over 200 Dollars Per Plane Ticket (Based On All Other Published Prices), 40% On Hotels And Got A Free Rental Car. It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!
I found the old name-your-price format off-putting, but now that I can actually see the names and locations I see no reason to be wary. I like the very bottom of the price spectrum, and there is a huge difference between properties of the same price at that level (sometimes due to personal taste). I found the reviews harsher than reality, and got a great deal.
I can always count on Priceline to deliver the best value on hotels at the best price. Be very careful on the promises they make and guarantees because there are always a ton of fine print that should be read very very carefully. It is impossible to get in touch with a human when you have an issue and they aren't very friendly or accommodating.
I have not paid full price for a hotel or rental car in years. I always save money and end up staying in nicer places than my budget would allow.
It is very easy to use and sort of exciting to actually have a winning bid and find out the place that was selected is a place you would have chose yourself except much cheaper.
Priceline offers a great price with great hotels at hand. Best site to work with!! Keep up the good work
Easy to bid your price, you must try it on your next trip!
Priceline is by far the best site to book hotel rooms. I frequently use the "name your own price" option, and I am ever amazed at the bargains that I get. Priceline will also send you coupons to use on your next purchase. I recently received a 10% off coupon for an Express Deal hotel booking if I used the Priceline Mobile App. After taxes I paid $81.00 for a room that is listed at $120.00 per night. Many times I have stayd in hotels such as Courtyard by Marriott for $40 or $45/night with the Name your own price feature. I traveled to NYC and stayed in a hotel for $160/night and the list price on the hotel website was $240/night. I love love love priceline.
Great deals at name your own price for hotels and rent a cars, amazing service!!!!
I started using Priceline as an experiment, but now I use it whenever I travel. The hotel rooms are always great, the instant values are good and the "name your price" is fantastic. I thoroughly recommend it.
I made an offer with Priceline for a rental care rather than dragging my daughter to the airport to pick me up. The car was a great price and very convenient.
I say...try it!
My job requires travel through a few states. Priceline gets me a quality room at affordable prices. I've used the 'name your own price' feature many times. It is especially helpful that you can view a map of the area you are interested in. Only once, did I pick wrong. The hotel was still fabulous. Any way you choose to book is easy. I love priceline,.
