This is my second scooter of my lifetime. My previous one from the local mobility shop (costing £2700) turned out to not be at all reliable. I then went to pro rider and purchased the road king for under a grand and it has been perfect. It is far superior to other scooters in so many ways, it is much more comfortable than any I have come across and it takes any bumps in its stride without effecting me or jolting me about. There is a lot of foot room and it really does feel for want of a better phrase, "the business". I feel I have got a hell of a lot more than my money's worth with pro rider!
I had the original electric trolley from pro rider and I was extremely happy for it but decided it was time for an upgrade. As I had such a good experience the first time, I thought I might as well just go back to pro rider. I bought the lithium battery trolley this time as it is much lighter and the battery lasts even longer than the old ones. The new wheels seem to be a step up from its predecessor too with extra grip. And demonstrating what a great company they are, they threw in a free golf bag and umbrella to show their appreciation for my repeat custom. Will definitely be buying from them again in the future.
My dream plus rise recliner chair arrived yesterday. I don't actually need help standing but I liked the look of the chair and I definitely like reclining. They are the height of luxury chairs but at a great price, they are big and comfortable and even have cupholders! The rising action is great if I'm feeling lazy it just lifts me right up. Going to be buying another one soon as the wife is a little jealous! Amazing quality!
Recently had to order a part for my three year old golf trolley as my youngest somehow managed to pull the speedpot twister thing off. Surprisingly Pro rider looked after me very well and sent me the part free of charge and I received it the next day. Pro rider seems to be one of thos rare companies that actually care and look after their customers. The golf trolley is still going well too. You should definitely choose pro rider when looking to by anything battery powered as the after sales service is great!
This fold-able ramp is great. It's really light so can be moved around easy and folds up compact so it's easy to store anywhere. It can be used to load my wife's scooter into the boot of the car and also to wheel her up the steps and into the house when she is in her wheelchair. It folds up easily by just releasing a few pins and unfolds just as easy. It feels sturdy to walk up unlike many other ramps that seem flimsy. Altogether I am very pleased with this product.
I must say I am very impressed with the quality of this wheelchair from pro rider especially considering the price is so low! It was very easy to set up after a prompt arrival and very easy for my wife to get used to using it as the controls are very simple. It is comfortable for her to sit in, looks very smart and does the job it is meant to. Would definitely use this company time and time again.
This trolley is great for people like me who dont really know much about setting things up or working technology. It is very easy to use and handles the terrain of the car park and the rough to the green. It even goes through bunkers easily (not that you need that). It is a really good trolley and the company provided a great service for me too making the whole process hassle free and it even arrived a day early, fantastic!
Work is now close enough to home to consider riding but not close enough to make it practical as there are no shower facilities once I get there. And there's no convenient car parks that don't cost an arm and a leg. An electric assisted bike sounds great and I've wanted one for ages. Spotted the EVoyager whilst surfing on Google and liked the spec, looks and price. I been commuting on it since October and despite the recent heavy rain and winds I've managed to get there and back in one piece. It goes upto 15mph on the twist of a throttle and I don't even need to pedal if I'm feeling particularly lazy. Definitely recommend an EBike to all the "short distant' commuters out there
My 89 year old father has had a Pride 8 mph scooter for some years which has been excellent in operation for him. However now he has stopped driving a car, he asked me to source a small 4 mph scooter suitable for taking onto a bus. In doing some research I came across ProRiderMobility .com. Their website says all the right things i.e “as seen on BBC Top Gear”, “famous reputation by providing the highest level of customer service and after sales service in the land”, “priority to any sale is the peace of mind which the customer can have” and “5 star back up service and warranty second to none”. These self (deluded) awarded references are, in my opinion, completely false and very misleading as I will now tell. As there are size/specification restrictions for taking a scooter onto public transport, I telephoned Pro Rider and spoke to [Name] in Sales to get advice on a suitable model. I explained what was required and for what purpose and on her advice, I decided on the Pro Rider Elite Portable Scooter at £489.00 as she said it was certainly fit for purpose required. The scooter arrived in packaging that needed to be cut open to gain access. Fully charged my father took the scooter 25 yards along the pavement in his cul-de-sac , so he could cross a small side road with drop kerbs. The scooter went down the first drop kerb ok but ground to a complete halt when trying to get up the opposite drop kerb. Now this is a perfectly normal low gradient (1:12) drop kerb but this scooter was unable to drive up it!! My father was then stuck on the scooter which was firmly stuck having grounded itself on its two stabiliser wheels! Incidentally my father weighs 12 stone so not exactly heavy. I then tried the same manoeuvre taking a faster run up but the same thing happened to me – stuck with no ability to go back or forward!! In order to get it to move again, I had to get off it and drag it back (which my father on his own would not manage) onto level ground and drive 25 yards back to his garage and park it up. Totally NOT fit for purpose – utterly useless! My father agreed with me that the scooter be returned with an explanation as to why it was not fit for purpose and request a full refund as this was only 3 days after delivery. I rang and spoke to another sales staff member [Name], who said the scooter “should” be ok for the intended use. I said it was not and said we wanted to reject it and could they arrange to collect it. No was the answer they would not! I asked if the carrier they used to deliver it could be contacted to help and I was told no again. We would have to re-pack it and get it to them ourselves. I therefore packed it myself and arranged for a courier at a cost to us of £85.00 to deliver it back to ProRiderMobility .com A few days later ProRiderMobility .com wrote back to say they had received the scooter back in a dirty and damaged condition! I then rang their General Manager, a man called [Name]. He claimed that the damage was sufficient that they would take £100 off the price paid. I asked for photos as I said that the scooter was clean and had only been ridden for a few yards. The photos he sent were not very good but showed a couple of scuffs marks – not £100 worth of damage!!! About a week later my father got a partial refund of £389.00. So we ended up with a lot of aggravation, wasted hours of our time which we paid £185 for!!! ....and still had no scooter. I feel very let down by this experience with ProRiderMobility .com so before you buy from them rather than another supplier BE WARNED!!! On my experience they are a company who are happy to take your money but when things turn out like those we experienced they don’t want to know or help and will then find a way to not refund in full. GOOD POINTS: Absolutely none at all. NEGATIVE POINTS: 1. £489 is low and it shows in the quality of the ProRider scooter which is low grade in design & finish. 2. The performance was appalling not able to go up the smallest of gradients. 3. The shopping basket had such a poor fitting it fell off at the first small bump in the pavement. 4. ProRiderMobility .com are not a customer service focused company – by any stretch.
We both feel extremely let down by this awful experience with ProRiderMobility. My advice is to read reviews carefully before deciding what and who to buy from. Perhaps a safer and even better option when buying a mobility scooter is to go to a local retailer rather than buying something untried online from a company who could lead to the type of problems we encountered. You should then be able to test drive and make a satisfactory purchase. This is what we ended up doing and my father is delighted with the small Shoprider Monaco scooter bought from the well stocked retailer ‘The Mobility Shop’ in West Moors, Ferndown, Dorset. This scooter performs really well and incidentally has no problem getting up the same drop-kerb the ProRider failed at. He has now made his first trip taking it on the bus with ease.
I expected my review to end on this more positive note but I’m sorry to say it does not!! Having posted my review at the beginning of January 2014, my father received a telephone call out of the blue from the General Manager at ProRiderMobility. He claimed that the review was libelous and said they were considering legal action!! My father told him that the review could not be libellous as it was the truth. A little while later he rang my father again to say that he had now spoken to his staff and he now had a truthful understanding of the situation. (Did that mean the scooter we had returned was not even the dirty, damaged one they had previously referred to?!) They were now prepared to offer my father £200. My father told him he was happy with that. However they would only do this on the condition that I remove the review I had posted and ceased to post anymore. The GM wanted to speak to me which we did the next day. He agreed with me that my review was not made in haste and was thought through well but reiterated the conditional offer. I explained why I felt that they should be to cover the consequential loss of expenses and compensate me for the day off I had to take and the 180 mile round trip to sort this out. I said an additional £100 was more than fair. As it was not his decision he said he would get back to me. But he never did! Some days later my father received two emails a few days apart from Mr Simon Betts Managing Director of ProRiderMobility full of incorrect statements but saying that as communication had broken down they were taking legal proceedings and considering contacting the Police regarding my review!!!! I decided enough was enough and wrote to the MD Mr Simon Betts of ProRiderMobility as this was a complete nonsense and I did not take kindly to the bullying tactics of this MD Simon Betts. I spent a considerable time and effort to spell out all the inaccuracies in his ridiculous email. In return I got a email back from Mr Simon Betts spouting more rubbish but the threats had now got serious. Mr Simon Betts was now accusing me of blackmail and threatening to sue for “substantial damages” as I had not removed my review!!! Some 4 weeks later I have not heard a thing from their solicitors or the Police or Mr Simon Betts. To say all of this fiasco and accusations has vexed me would be an understatement. I have no intention of being bullied into removing my review as it is 100% accurate and the deplorable way my father and I have been treated is exactly why the review will remain live. DO NOT BUY FROM PRORIDERMOBILITY.COM THEY ARE AWFUL AND THEIR PRODUCT IS TOO.
A few years ago I purchased a golf trolley from pro rider and loved it, it was really nice and simple, looked great and the price was good. Years on I found myself needing a mobility scooter and they were the first company that came into my head after such a great experience with them last time. I purchased a pro rider road king for £899, the most similar trolley I could find being priced at around the £3000 mark. The scooter has been great for me as have the company. They have been a pleasure to deal with over the years as they have fantastic customer service and great prices. Thank you pro rider!
About four years ago I bought a golf trolley from pro rider because they were the cheapest quality trolley of the time. It still goes strong and i recently sold it second hand so that I could upgrade. I looked around again and they are still the cheapest, it's amazing. I then ordered the lithium battery one and its arrived today. I'm not playing til thursday but if this one is anything like the last one its going to be great. I couldn't get over how small and light the battery is too. I can't wait to use it now.
I run a care home in Leicester and have used Pro Rider Mobility for the past 4 years. I have had scooters and wheelchairs from them. Many of my residents also purchase their items.
I have to say they have been a real pleasure to deal with. The prices are half what I have been quoted from other local mobility shops and the quality of aftersales in brilliant. If I have any after sales need I call them and an engineer is sent out the same or next day.
The guy in the service department who I met is a pleasure to deal with and very friendly
I fully recommend anyone with mobility requirements to use this first class company
