I bought a Scenic with a claimed mpg of 68.9 (it transpired that the car Renault supplied for testing is not actually available in the UK). The actual mpg turned out to be 46. when I complained to Renault UK they said that that figure is perfectly acceptable and refused to even look at the vehicle. so, if you want a car that drinks fuel at an alarmin grate the a Renault is for you. If you want a car manufacturer whose customer care motto is "P*** Off" then Renault is for you.
I have owned renauls now for 25 years - I will NEVER own another and would advise anyone contemplating doing so to avoid them with a barge pole.
I think I must be very lucky, I've had 5 different Renault cars, 2 Clio diesels, 2 lagunas and most recently a Wind.
I've found all my Renaults to be fun and easy to drive and my current one is no exception! The wind is nippy, corners well and is so much fun! There are some minor niggles, an internal handle on the boot lid would help with the closing of it and the trip computer isn't quite as flexible as the Clio to navigate.
Overall I love the quirky Renaults! Keep making cars with character and fun please!
