The engineer kept me informed of his time of arrival, turned up on time. Fixed the cooker. What I realised was I was paying for his experience. It turned out just to be an element burned out on my cooker, but I would never have been able to replace it myself, so taking that into consideration, I do not think the price charged was excessive.
I now have a working cooker again.
Our American fridge freezer was not keeping to temperature and when I booked with Repair Care I assumed they would send a qualified refridgeration engineer to locate the fault and repair it.
The engineer from a firm called "Repair Guys" turned up without even a thermometer to check the temperature and appeared to be totally unfamiliar with our particular model of Fridge Freezer. Eventually after some 20 minutes of head scratching the engineer said he did not know what was wrong with the fridge but that he would order an internal fan fro the freezer so that "at least we would get something for what we had paid to Repair Care"
I suggested that we really needed a qualified fridge engineer with the proper equipment so that the real fault could be identified. He agreed that it would be sensible to do that and it would be included in his report.
It was over two weeks later and only after I had repeatedly chased Repair Guys for the date of the next visit that the same Unqualified engineer returned to fit a new internal fan.
The Engineer eventually fitted the new fan after struggling to remove the unfamiliar cowling and badly cutting himself on the exposed metal.
His final advice was to leave the doors closed for 24 hours to allow the fridge freezer to get down to temperature. The following morning the freezer was still above freezing and by the afternoon it was hotter inside the fridge freezer than it was in our kitchen.
I then complained directly to Repair Care about the poor service and the fact that they had sent an unqualified enginneer from 50 miles away instead of using a local refrigeration company less than five miles away.
To give Repair Care their due they accepted that I had a valid complaint and arranged for the local firm to call the following day.
Their engineer arrived with the proper equipment and was familiar with our particular fridge freezer. Within twenty minutes they had disgnosed the fault and fitted the replacement parts.
With hindsight I should have complained to Repair Care on the day the unqualified engineer first visited and hopefully we would not have spent a month without a working fridge in our kitchen!!!
More importantly Repair Care might save a lot of money on replacing perfectly good fans in fridge freezers if they actually spent some time checking whether the engineers they are sending out to customers homes have the relevant qualifications and experience and carry the right equipment to correctly diagnose the fault.
The engineer arrived on time, was very polite and had a good banter with him, done the job no qualms and left, what more can i say
Great service, quick and fixed the problem with no fuss. Only downside was that they left behind the boxes and parts replaced.
My oven was broken, I called up & after giving the minimum of information about this problem I was able to relax in the knowledge it would be fixed. Will now be the 1st number I call when a problem arises again. Excellent n easy service
Really easy to book and I liked the fact that I could book online. The repair was done very quickly and my oven is now as good as new. I would recommend repair care and will not hesitate to use them again in the future.
Recommended as their service caps the fees you pay. Always arrived for my last two visits, although a better idea of arrival time (AM/PM or time slots would make things much better. Would use again.
I was impressed with this service as they came to time and did the job in no time and also very polite and pleasant. I have already told all my friends about Repaircare and would certainly use them again
Repaircare told me the part was on order and eventually after 8 weeks told me the part was not available from the manufacture. However I managed to get the required part from the manufacture on next day delivery and had a local appliance company fit it with the dishwasher back in service a week later. The repair though was time consuming and consequently more costly than the fixed price quote from Repaircare and I can only assume they fabricated a lie to avoid having to do the work.NEVER AGAIN
However I have to say that a single spring for the sliding dish washer draw was very ovrr priced at £149.00 all the engineer did was clip out of the new one and clip it into the old one taking aprox 5 mins
It took six visits between June and October 2013 with different engineers with a different diagnosis on each occasion with various different parts suggested to eventually arrive at the correct part needed. As a result we were without the tumble dryer for all that time
In their favour they did stick at it and eventually solved the problem.
Very pleased with this service. The repairman telephoned to let me know when he would be arriving, which was very helpful. He had tthe correct part and the repair was done in 5 minutes! He then tested the oven thoroughly before leaving. I would definitely use this service again. (I should add that its a good idea to provide a good description of the problem when making the initial booking, which helps to ensure the repair person is adequately prepared for the job, just saying 'appliance not working' is not helpful to anyone!)
It was really easy to book on line which was then followed up by a telephone call to confirm the date and time when the engineer will attend. On the day the engineer was friendly and efficient. Job well done.
I just wish I had done some research on Repaircare before instructing them to solve the issue with my dishwasher.
I instructed Repaircare, online and paid £145. I was promptly charged. Engineers came and found that the sealant needed replacing. They ordered the parts and arranged for another visit. When they visited, the part delivered to them was wrong, apparently.
Thereafter the delaying tactics started.
"We have to reorder the correct part and it will take 2 weeks"
"The part is not in stock, it will be another 2 weeks..."
"Sometimes the parts have to be ordered from abroad, another 3 weeks..."
"Now we don't know when it will be available..."
11 weeks later, "The part is now obsolete..."
This company in just an intermediary taking advantage of the customer and the engineer. I was told that the engineers only get paid for 1 visit (not the 2nd one to install the faulty parts) if the part doesn't work. In the meantime they have my money and left us in a mess. All this talk of the Repaircare being an ethical company interested in its customers . . . nonsense! How can they when they have no direct contacts with the manufacturers?
first service engineer was polite and tried to fix the problem, but as soon as he left fridge temp started rising again, phoned company again parts were ordered and fitted in the next week, great service and very polite on telephone, was kept updated by phone by the nice lady would use these again
We have now been waiting 8 weeks for our Dyson to be repaired. We were initially told it would be fixed on site, only for a courier to then collect it and take it away. After 3 weeks we began chasing, firstly to be told it was fixed and was going through testing. A week later we were told it hadn't been fixed and they were waiting for parts. Two weeks later we were ensured it would be returned on the Wednesday of that week, fixed. My husband called at lunch time to see what time they would be coming, only be told the parts hadn't even arrived yet. After 6 weeks we were promised a refund, which still hasn't gone through, and we are still waiting for our Dyson to be fixed and returned. It has now been 8 weeks! And we seem to be no further along. The service has been absolutely appalling, we have been promised follow up calls but we have never received them, we have to constantly chase this up. How can a simple repair job (we have been told it is the filter) take 8 weeks! I would never recommend Repaicare, I don't know how a company like this can operate with this poor level of service.
wish to complain out the service I have had from your company, I paid the fee to have my washing machine repaired,
9th August an engineer called, I HEARD NOTHING.. I rang
15th August and was told parts were on order
20th August engineer rang and said he had only just got approval and he would order the parts,
The parts took ages according to the engineer this is because he is only allowed to order from 1 supplier and the parts were out of stock
6th Sept parts arrived and machine taken away for repair
10th Sept machine returned and leaked,
11th Sept I rang to complain, you gave me the number for the engineer directly and called and left 3 messages
14th Sept machine broke down again !!
23rd Sept I rang and complained again, and requested a refund
25th engineer called and repaired machine , despite working it still leaks, again I have left messages with the engineer and he hasnt responded,
The service received has been appalling, I still have a washing machine that leaks that didnt leak before the repair I would appreciate a refund.
Its always a risk when you take a fixed price repair, the worry that the company will take advantage of the situation and try to increase the bill or not do the work! But that didn't happen with repaircare. They were professional from start to finish, guarantee the work and fixed it. Very happy with what they have done and will use them in the future if I ever need to.
The repairers arrived on the scheduled day, having made contact over the phone before arrival. They very speedily fixed my Neff oven and left everything in order. Given that the repair took a quarter of an hour or less I was left wondering if the charge of £141 was value for money but it was less than the other quote I received. I do not know the cost of the replacement parts as I did not receive an itemised bill. All in all I am glad to have got the job done effectively.
Repaircare website was really easy to use and the fixed price repair cost was reasonable. I was able to choose a date to suit me and no long wait either. I always feel awkward with repairmen in my home! It did help that this man was friendly and chatty.
I was really unsure as to what was going to happen when my oven repair man turned up as the manufacturer had said the oven was too old and they no longer made the parts. However there was quite a small fee quoted for if the repair couldn't be done, so we decided to go ahead with it rather than forking out hunderds of pounds for a new oven.
Minutes after I booked the repair online someone from the repair company phoned me to discuss the problem and diagnosed what he thought was wrong. He explained that he wouldn't be able to come on the agreed date (a Monday) due to needing to order the part first. By pre-ordering the part it also meant that if that was in fact the problem - they could solve it there and then. They agreed to come the following day from my requested date. The repair man turned up on time, worked quickly and neatly and fixed my oven within 15 mins with the new part. I would highly reccommend using repaircare as their prices are very reasonable, they completed the job with no fuss and great communication, and customer service and saved me loads of money.
After the smooth online booking process the assigned engineer phoned to take details of the appliance FD number so that the required replacement parts could be obtained. He arrived within the time slot indicated at the booking stage. He proved helpful, courteous and cheerful - as well as carrying out the repair of course.
The invoicing and payment process was also painless - all done online.
Problem accurately diagnosed to be defective heating element which was replaced. Operator was efficient and clearly knew his way around washing machines. Machine now working like new again despite being 11 years old.
