Actually couldn't have been better

If you are looking for a some new speakers then this is the place to go. The shop was clean and well laid out, and the salesman was very nice and helpful. Even though I hadn't made an appointment they were still able to fit me in for a demo.

I initially wanted the Aero 2 speakers from their website, but I then changed my mind after listening and he recommended the Dali Zensor 3s as a substitute. They look a lot betterer, which is an added bonus as well. Under different circumstances, I wouldn't have bought them, because they were more expensive - but I listened to his reasoning and judgement and heard the difference for myself so I went for it!

What blew me away was the was I was able to have a conversation with someone who actually knew what they were talking about, rather than with someone who just wants to sell you something or who is in a rush for their next coffee break!

Overall, a very good experience - I will be back as soon as my wallet allows!

"Blown" away by the service and my new "system"

Had never heard of Richer Sounds before but when I was discussing which new TV I should buy with my work "colleagues" a couple of them recommended Richers, and they were not wrong!

Found the shop in Hull, and even though it is a small shop you are still looked after and giving time to browse. (I hate it in other shops when you're "pounced" upon by the salesmen). I was given some advice and pointers but still wasn't sure which TV to go for (I'd read some "reviews" online first), but the salesman showed me the TVs working and let me have a play.

I decided which I wanted, and managed to get a bit of a deal on a "soundbar" to go with the TV.

Got it all home and it sounds amazing. So much better than my old TV with it's tinny "speakers". Love it. If you need a new TV then get yourself down here.

Waste of time. Go elsewhere!

I had to find an outlet in which to write a review about this retailer. I recently got an email (having signed up to their on line newsletter) of an in store offer of the Samsung F5500 Smart tv that was now £299 instead of £319 for a few days. So instead of trudging down to the London bridge store on a Sunday, I decided to call them instead to enquire whether they had any of these 32inch tvs on offer in store so I could go buy and collect it. When speaking to the guy on the phone, called Fernando, he told me there was none in store, but an expected delivery was due on the Wednesday. So I asked if i could reserve one now and pick it up on Wednesday. But alas, he said no, they were expecting 2-3 on that day and couldn't reserve these few at this time coz his system was down. (Yes, the same system I assume he was using to tell me stock was due in Wednesday) I was advise to call up on Wednesday morning. (Like I have time on a work day to chase a telly). I said if I called on that day they may be gone or reserved by others by then since there was only 2-3 coming in. I asked if I could get the tv at the same price in case the offer ended by Wednesday. But no, round and round we went with every suggestion I offered being shut down. I got nothing reserved, wasn't asked to buy it over the phone or collect in store. Wasn't told if the warehouse had loads or not. Wasn't told how long the offer was on for. Was just told to call back on Wednesday and he would do all he could....blah...blah.....blah. I felt fobbed off over the phone. You get better service in John Lewis or even flippin' Currys. I've never known a company to not want to sell/ reserve a product even over the phone when the customer was literally ready to give out their credit card details to buy their products in the first instance. Good thing I didn't waste my time going in store, not sure if that would have helped my plight. Oh well, keep your precious products. I'm off to give my money to one of your competitors - with or without your offers!

After 25 years they still offer the same excellent level of service

Having watched Richer Sounds Leeds grow from its humble beginnings on North Street (the stack 'em high, sell them cheap days), I've always been a regular customer.


Each shopping experience is a pleasure. No hard sell, no bullying tactics from the sales team. But, as soon as you ask a question or need information about a product - BANG ! - they are there to answer.


This time I purchased a 40" Toshiba TV. I initially telephoned the Leeds branch and the call was answered within 5 rings by the Assistant manager called Chris.


His professionalism was beyond reproach, answering all my questions about the three models that I was interested in.


Sadly the 2 cheaper Toshiba's (within my budget) were not in stock so I had to opt for the most expensive. So guess what? Chris dropped the price for me without me even having to ask. Also included is a free 5 year warranty providing peace of mind. Can you ask for any better?

An emphatic 'NO' is my reply.

Yes, other outlets are starting to offer 5 year warranties, but their purchase prices seem to be higher. I bet Julian Richer has been thinking about offering a 6 year warranty just to stay ahead of the rest !!!

From beginning to end Richer Sounds makes shopping a pleasurable experience. No wonder they have such a dedicated fan base. Sadly, not enough people know about Richer Sounds. Something needs to be done to bring it to the forefront of the public's eye and keep it there.


To both Chris & Patrick in the Leeds store I thank you for making me feel so welcome. Sadly John was not there as I wanted to say hi to the old timer. I've known him from the first day he appeared.

Make Richer Sounds your first port of call. You'll not regret it.

Great Price, FANTASTIC Customer Service, but poor delivery service.

I bought a Panasonic Vieva 50" LED television from the Watford branch of Richer Sounds and they arranged delivery for the following Wednesday. The price from Richer Sounds was £100 cheaper than from John Lewis and still with a 5 year warranty. Unfortunately their courier service let them down and didn't deliver (or call) on the specified day. Paddy at Richer Sounds Head Office Customer Service was fantastic trying to sort out the problem. Although thwarted by the courier at every turn he persevered until I finally had the TV in my hands. The television it self was a Panasonic TX-L50E6B and now I'm watching it I can also confirm it was a great buy, especially at £100 cheaper than John Lewis.

Disappointing - Sonos or nothing!.. I shopped elsewhere

We went to Milton Keynes Richer Sounds to get some advice, and help us choose from the massive selection of Wireless Music Systems on the market and make a purchase. We spotted the Sonos system straight away because it's right in front of the door. We told the assistant we were looking for a wireless system for both Android ad Mac devices and he said "You'll want the Sonos system".. and nothing else. I mentioned we had seen lots online and wanted to listen and be informed about the rest to make up my own mind. "The Sonos system is the biggest name on the market and everyone wants to work with them" (awesome for them, I'm sure). We knew there should be more on offer. After browsing the very small shop, filled with high profit surround systems and TVs we spotted the rest of the wireless range tucked away on a high shelf behind the counter. No chance of interacting with them, listening to their output or getting advice it seemed, without tackling the Sonos sales staff. We left, feeling disappointed that we'd just wasted our time. We hadn't been asked any questions about budget, room size, whether we were intending to fill a house/school/business with a wireless system and speakers or just one room... Sonos seemed to be the only answer. Seems the staff don't want to spend the time talking to you unless you're spending thousands of pounds on a 3D TV! ..but you could be in there to spend thousands of pounds on a wireless system.. and they wouldn't have known!

NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE

QUICK UPDATE ON THE FREESAT BOX FROM RICHER GLASGOW IT LASTED 4H;OURS THEN WOULDNT EVEN SWITCH ON, WHEN I PHONED THE STORE THEY SAID THEY HAD ONE IN STOCK BUT IWAS TO KEEP THEREMOTE ASMY FULL PRICE RPLACEMENT DIDNT HAVE ONE, YOU COULDNT MAKE IT UP.

WENT NEXT DOOR TO CURRYS AND PAID EXACT SAME PRICE ,USING PRICE MATCH.

NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I CONSIDER RICHER SOUNDS AND IF ANYONE READING.

ORDERED GOODS DIDNT ARRIVE

Called in at the Sheffield store Sun 26/01 wanting to purchase a Marantz MCR510 network streamer with Q Acoustics 2010i speakers. Spoke to a sales guy called Daniel, as per their best price guarantee I said I had seen this package online at £339 and could they match it as id prefer to buy instore, yes no problem. They didn't have stock instore but would order for me to collect the following Thu 30/01. Called the store before making the journey to be told that it hadn't arrived and would be instore for me to collect the next Thu 06/02. Good job I called first or would have been a wasted journey.
Told them waiting another week was unacceptable and to cancel the order, sales guy didn't seem at all bothered and no apology was offered, went to Sevenoaks and ordered to collect instore the next day at the same price. Sevenoaks all the way for me in future.

UPDATE
Received a call from Tom in customer services to personally apologise for my experience with the Sheffield store. He said really the store should have called to advise the goods hadn't arrived and offered me next day delivery which I would have been happy with, he agreed having to wait another week was not good. As way of apology Tom is sending me a pair of Q Acoustic wall brackets for my speakers which is fantastic and not expected at all. By reading these reviews and trying to make amends when someone has a problem shows that they take customer service very seriously and has somewhat restored my faith in Richer Sounds.

Last Saturday I phoned the store in Romford and asked if they had the tv I wanted in stock. I was told they had three.
I emptied my van and drove an hour to the store.
Only to be told..... Not in stock!
I was told I could have free delivery on Wednesday.
I don't see how this FREE DELIVERY is doing me a favour after being told it's in today.
Anyway I agree to take delivery Wednesday.
I get a phone call on Monday saying it will now be Thursday and the driver will text to give me a two hour time slot.
Ok so today I don't get a text and wait till 11.30 before I ring the overpriced customer service number.
The man is helpful and tells me he phoned the delivery people and it will be between 12-1 .
Ok so two o'clock comes and I'm still waiting. I phone the extortionate number again.
This time less helpful
Leaves me hanging on fo 8 mins only to tell me that someone will call me back after speaking to the driver.
No phone call back
Have to phone them again...and wit while they transfer me to delivery people.
Who then tell me oh the van has just broken down and is about to be towed to Milton Keynes. And can we re arrange delivery
Oh what a surprise that is.
So I take a day off work for nothing and all I get from richer sounds customer service is "well it's not our fault is it"
Really!!!! That's how you talk to your customers after letting them down?
One I don't believe for one second the van broke down and two if it did I would expect apologies all around for wasting my day and costing me money!
If that's your customer service then I'll be off to Romford for my money back.
And I'll be out of poket by two round trips to Romford in fuel and a days loss of work as I'm self employed.
Update
Ok so after my bad day, I get a call back from one of the customer service lads called tom.
The first time someone called me, and he apologised for the problems I have been having and told me that after a phone call to the delivery people they would be turning up on that night.
Well they didn't.
Tom calls me the next day and makes sure there is a tv waiting for me at Romford for me to pick up that day.
Also he sorts out as a way of an apology a cheque for all the running around I've had to do.
Also when I get down the shop (I think) the assistant manager also throws in extra 3d glasses.
I'm loving my tv now.
And if there were more employees like tom out there then it would have gone a lot easier.
My advise to richer sounds is get more of your customer service people to behave like tom.
And apologise if your having problems,
Also to change your delivery people. And make sure some of your staff don't come out with comments like "it's not our fault if the delivery people don't turn up.
Because yes it is
We pay for a service and you provide the delivery people.
My advise to any anyone thinking of buying from richer sounds is
Most of the people in the shops know what they are talking about when it comes to tv and hifi. And if you do have problems, call customer service and ask for tom!

Have heard alot and expected better

Was wanting a Humax Freeview recorder for a christmas present. Checked London stores and on web site it said Holborn had three. Thought I would give them a try. Visited store. Very cramped and a bit chaotic. It turned out the stock was wrong and they actually had -1 in stock. Was offered a newer version at a similar price but then they found out they had no stock of this either. I know it says ring the store but I would expect better stock keeping. The website still said 3 in stock. Bought elsewhere online in the end. Might try them again sometime in case this was a one off.

Appalling customer service poor salesmanship @ Tunbridge Wells

Yesterday we went to Tunbridge Wells branch to purchase Sony 42" TV £499. Before payment i said i was a member of your VIP club and received a voucher for £10, don't have it printed but can show email. Sale assistance said there is nothing he can do about it. Didn't offer any options, nothing. Taking into account that a day before we went to Sevenoaks Sound and Vision next door, where the same telly (in grey) was £20 dearer, their sales assistant without much hesitation after a quick chat with manager - matched the price.
I only decided to purchase from Richer Sounds as I've heard positive things about it. Myself I haven't found anything positive, the first guy i spoke with was Bart who doesn't seem to know anything at all nor shows any will to help. Then other senior sale assistant won't honor £10 voucher. I agree this is not much but hey at least you'll get the sale! Try to be a sales man, say we cannot accept your voucher but we can give you this or that or knock off £10 as a good will gesture, don't let the customer just walk out!
Your customer service put me off so much that i started to think what to expect when there is a problem! I'll take my business to Sevenoaks Sound and Vision!

Richer Sounds Supercover is outstanding at Watford Branch

4 Years 8 months ago I purchased a Denon Micro Component System at Richer Sounds Watford branch, with Supercover for 5 years at 16.65GBP. I was served by Anca who told me at the end of 5 years I could claim this insurance back, if no claim had been made. However, recently the unit developed a fault and would not switch on. I returned it to the Watford branch where Anca, now the manager, took it in for repair and loaned me a DM39 - opened box - system. This was the current up to date version of mine..
After 3 weeks I was phoned by Rachel of the same branch and told that my original DM37 was beyond economic repair and that I could keep the DM39 unit I had been loaned, or I return to the store for a brand new unit. I returned to the store where the most helpful staff of Chris & the Deputy Manager - Thomas, gave me a brand new replacement DM39 system. With this I was invited to buy Supercover at 18.35GBP which I did. In November 2018 I intend to visit the store again to reclaim my 18.35GBP unless of course the DM39 has developed a fault in the previous 5 years and I have had to return it for servicing or a replacement!. If the latter, I will purchase Supercover once more!
Richer Sounds Supercover is outstanding insurance that works, and the staff at the Watford branch continue to be most helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

Qaulity Service and Excellent friendly helpful staff

I was looking for a new DVD MR player and found these guys on the net.I phoned up and they helped me choose the Sony DVPSR760 MR .It plays well and sought's all my needs.Very easy to set up and the picture quality is excellent. I'm very pleased with this purchase. All the staff were very helpful at Southamton so I shall be shopping there again in the future .
My parcel arrived to day via DPD .Thank you all again at Southampton for you help.
10/10 for A QUALITY Service and a helpful friendly staff.

Richer Sounds Solihull (Best Purchase Experience in a long time)

Purchached a Panasonic TX-L47WT65B TV. From Richer Sounds Solihull.
The attention to detail, product knowledge and honesty were exceptional. Matin Sales Manager and Trainee sales Garth were a pleasure to do buisness with.
The prices are on par with Curry's but a far better relaxed shop to purchase from.
They even brought the TV to my home in a taxi because it would not fit in the car, paid my car parking fee as well.
If anybody wants to piurchase media electronics and live in this area go to their store in Solihull.

They're simply the best!

I discovered online that Richer Sounds will match any online price. The nearest store to me is Exeter, around 25 miles away but how glad I am that I went there. They give free parking and if the car park is full and you have to pay to park the car, just take your ticket to them and they will refund you. That is just the start of the good business sense of Richer Sounds.
The shop itself has a nice comfy place to sit if necessary and a machine for cold water and other things, so nice and welcoming.
I was made to feel as though I was the only customer in the shop, time didn't matter. They spent so long with me, showing me, explaining everything in detail. I bought a new tv and blu ray player and signed up for the VIP club (free) for emails.
I then got a £10 voucher towards my next purchase. I was also given a FREE five year warranty with my new TV.
When I got home and I was installing the new things I just telephoned about a couple of things and was talked through everything in a stress free competent manner, no rushing, just doing it in my time. They were simply wonderful. So wonderful in fact that I've now been back again and put the voucher towards a new HD Digital Recorder. I installed that but just needed to check a couple of things and again, no rush, they hitched up one the same as mine in their shop so that they could talk me through something.
I also want to say that their prices are definitely the best around. It's important to say that they really are. Plus the free warranty for the tv and all the advice and help. It's really marvellous. I think you'd struggle to find a negative for these people.
I can heartily recommend them, especially the Exeter shop. Good old fashioned service, big smiles and nothing too much trouble. It was a great experience and I send them my heartfelt thanks. I am an elderly person (female) and I did worry about getting these things sorted out but the help and assistance given to me made me feel very confident and it has worked out so well for me. I am over the moon with everything and I installed it all myself.

Excellent Sales and Service - Richer Sounds Watford 17/05/13

In an age of virtual non existent customer service, Richer Sounds Watford shine with a golden glow reserved only for a fabulous rainbows end. Unashamedly male and not possessing intense aesthetic qualities when it comes to matching colours, my desire to produce a rich cinematic sound emanating from my TV overtook any other form of sensory perception and I purchased a white set of speakers to match my black Panasonic Flat Screen (Well, they were 70 pounds cheaper than the black ones!).
Acoustic heaven soon turned to sarcastic hell when my wife asked why we had a zebra crossing installed in the room.! Hmmm, perhaps on reflection the extra 70 pounds would have saved me from the imminent guillotine. So, to save having to wear my new speakers as a fashion accessory I took them back to Watford (I'd already been back once and given a free cable) . Expecting the worse I was pleasantly surprised when Anca (the store manager) completely understood (my wife was exhaling hot smoke in my ears at the time) and replaced the speakers for the black set and was happy to do so. My first experience of Richer Sounds and definitely not my last. Excellent staff, excellent prices, excellent products and excellent afters sales. Thanks richer Sounds for restoring my faith in the British retail Industry.

FANTASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE

We purchased a LG 47 inch 3D TV from Richer Sounds After shopping around and we decided that we purchase the TV and a 3D blu ray player as we saved well over £100 plus the TV came with a free 5 year warranty . All the sales team at the Nottingham store was polite very helpful and not pushy like a large electrical retail company.
I recommend before you buy a new TV / HIFI take a look at Richer Sounds there customer service fantastic.
We have purchased other items from this store and we have all ways been happy.

Richer Sounds is the Mohammad Ali of AV suppliers, the greatest of all time!

New AV receiver ordered with free 7 day delivery on Saturday the 6th, it arrived on the 8th. There was unfortunately a very, minor ding on the unit that may well have happened in transit or at point of assembly. I got in touch on the 10th about it, fully prepared to keep it anyway as it wasn't affecting function and it was out of sight. I was mainly wanting to confirm if it would affect the 5 years cover. The friendly staff member insisted on replacing it and would send out a replacement ASAP. It's arriving this afternoon at lunchtime on the 11th.

The small ding in the unit was a slight downer but I've worked in a home appliance firm for 10 years and am more than aware how items can arrive, perfectly packed, with no obvious signs of damage and once they get opened you see something. The only way to know for sure is to unbox every single item and check it, which just isn't practical. The gent on the phone was very apologetic about the minor damage and even then I'd said I know these thing happen and its no problem he still insisted that wasn't the point and it shouldn't happen. Perfect

Purchased Panasonic SCBTT290 online from Richer Sounds as they were the cheapest for this item as I wanted it in new condition. Could have got it cheaper 'ex demo' but the details you get from the sellers are ambiguous. Easy to use website and once item was purchased I was kept up-to-date on progress with emails. Completely satisfied and would recommend.

Fantastic service, as always

I've been shopping with Richers since I was a teenager and must have spent thousands in their shops. The service and prices have always been fantastic, which is why I keep going back. My TV went faulty last week so I phoned the shop to get it fixed. The guy went through a few things with me on the phone and actually helped me to get my TV working again without me needing an engineer! Turns out I had a faulty cable, AND they swapped it for me free of charge when I went in to buy another!! Can't thank them enough for their help.
