Most appalling service ever experienced
On Thursday 20th Dec I went into a River Island store where I purchased a top and a gift card. £38 in total. The staff told me it hasn't gone through and they would enter it again, again I was charged £38. While in store I phoned my bank who confirmed I'd been charged twice. The manager advised me to leave the store without the goods and call customer services, oh and that she herself would call me back. It is now 8 days later and my account was charged and River Idldnd still owe me £76 plus compensation for phone calls, time and stress. The email system and phoning to customer services is beyond pathetic. I am still waiting but they won't do anything unless I continuously chase them. I work in accounts myself and I know that they can check if they have has the money but apparently they can't. So to sum up be very careful trusting this company. Store staff are untrained, customer service are feeble and uncaring, accounts and financial systems clearly in chaos. How long can this company last I wonder?!
