I didn expect Royal Mail such a bad services and greedy customer service

Few weeks ago I sent a parcel through royal mail with insurance the person I sent the item got ripped item and broken when I contact royal mail customer service they didnt convinced me well I lost everything in my parcel with a careless staff's who doesnt care the other people's stuff I hope they do better in the future

Royalmail

Sent parcels abroad , never arrived

I have spoken to customer services as neither of my parcels sent to Russia arrived. I paid for International Sign for, at an extra cost for peace of mind but after 7 weeks still nothing! The website says it takes 11 days to Moscow and Customer Services have told me that once it leaves the UK there is nothing they can do to find my parcel and I have to contact the Russian Postal Service myself.
What a joke, I paid for International sign for, and they cannot find my parcel, You have to sign to collect it and I have a Tracking number but Customer Services said there is no way of finding out where my parcels are!!
What's the point in buying International sign for if you can not find out where my parcels are and can not find out who has signed for it , if anyone!!
The Post Office Counter even told me to pay extra for peace of mind as it needs to be signed for otherwise it's returned to myself! hmm still waiting!

8 out of 10 Times Good! Overall reliable!

I say 8 out of 10 times, because for every 10 parcels I order, I usually find that only 8 turn up out of the bunch in good condition, without ill treatment. Now compare this with my hermes and it speaks.
However when Royal Mail do get it right everything is good. When they don't get it right you'd enjoy running into a brick-wall. For valuable items, always send special delivery, signed for is pretty useless.
For me it does the job, is generally reliable, but sometimes has its issues which can be frustrating.
BUT PRICES have gone SOOOO HIGH!!

Royalmail

Untrustworthy

Received a parcel today already opened and 3 miniature bottles of whiskey missing, rang customer services to complain, they contacted the driver who said the package was intact when delivered. I have complained but expect nothing to happen. will not use the again

ROYAL MAIL HAVE GOT GREEDY!!!!! GOOD BYE ROYAL MAIL - HELLO COLLECT+

Being an ebay seller and selling bulky items daily i used to use Royal Mail, for the last 3 years and have now switched service to Collect+ which are half the price to royal mail,
To send a pair of shoes 1st recorded delivery with royal mail they charge £7.95, Collect+ charge £3.99 anything up to 2kg, tracked too!! or between 2-5kg for only £4.99 and the beauty of this is ebay have now allowed this as an option in our postage checkout
SO GOOD BYE ROYAL MAIL!!!! HELLO COLLECT+ .
I don't know how Royal Mail can Justify their sky high greedy prices or service, even 1st class takes them days to get here., they can't even be bothered to post a red card through the door!

Many Asian countries have far better service tthat Royal Mail

For many years we enjoyed incredibly good service from Thailand Post when we lived there, It has come as a shock to return to the UK and experience the appallingly unreliable, sloppy and sometimes rude (not to say expensive) service of Royal Mail. (Our local postie though is usually friendly and helpful so not all bad)
Just had a bad experience trying to pick up package for our daughter. Sender had underpaid by a mer3e 19p so Royal Mail slapped on an extra £1 j and subjected us to a time wasting frustrating expereince to try to collect it. (asting expensive fuel) So far I have had 2 wasted trips to sorting office to try to collect it. Unhelpful rude threatening employee there. I know they have to be careful not to hand out packages to wrong person but the song & dance & rude belligerent attitude of the guy there just because I didn't have the right ID. I'm not familiar with the bureaucratic nature of Royal Mail but rather than be helpful he was really rude, belligerent & threatening - all because in my rush both times I brought the wrong ID I STILL don't have the package What a stark contrast to the WONDERFUL service we ALWAYS had in Thailand . Sure there were the occasional hiccups but we never EVER has the sort of rude and unhelpful service like this like this. If it were Thailand Post (or SingPost) they would have sorted it out with a helpful, friendly attitude and polite service. They take a PRIDE in giving a first class service. Royal Mail seem to go out of their way to provide a lousy service with grumpy unhelpful staff and make it their aim to provide the WORST, most expensive postal service possible
What a stark contrast: Royal Mail :- rude unhelpful expensive unreliable 'service
Thailand Post:-' Helpful, polite efficient and reliable service of .
I think Royal Mail should be privatized then bring in operators like Singapore Post or Thailand Post to take it over. They know would do a far better job!

Come on Royal Mail give up call it a day and admit you don't know how to run a good service, hand it over to an organisation that does know how to give polite, helpful, service and whose employees take a PRIDE in doing it properly instead of treating customers like dirt
In Thailand even posting letters is a pleasant experience. We have clean air conditioned post offices with an efficient queuing system take a Q number and sit and wait to be called to the next available counter - and friendly helpful staff. AND a an airmail letter to the UK costs less than posting in the UK.
Compare that with the usual grotty UK post offices with the cattle grid queuing system and often grumpy staff coupled with extortionate postage rates. Its now cheaper to send an air mail letter from Thailand to the UK than to post the same letter 2nd class! (17 baht i.e., about 35-40p) (Thailand domestic rate is 3 baht i.e. about 7p!!!)
After this unpleasant experience and the recent extortionate rise in package rates I'll ve avoiding RoyalMail and switch to using parecl2go for all my packages in future AND requesting senders if possible to avoid using Royal Mail
The bottom line is ROYAL MAIL DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS they seem determined to go bust and appear to have geared up their staff & system to give the rudest, unhelpful, most unreliable but expensive service in order to achieve this.
As Pvt famously used to say in Dads Army We're doomed, we are all doomed. Seems to be the case with Royal Mail if the attitude of their staff is anything to go by

Royalmail

The usual service

Royal Mail continue to let me down time after time! I constantly receive letters and payments via Royal Mail and some of them are as much as two weeks late! 1st class or 2nd class does not seem to make any difference, its just horrible slow and unreliable service from start to finish! My latest disappointment was a parcel that i posted within the uk, it was sent guaranteed signed for delivery and of course it arrived late! This company then expects you to be happy with a book of 6 stamps as compensation for dishing out constant and appalling service! The sooner this greedy & unreliable company is put out of business the better!

Royalmail

The most greedy and unreliable company ever

My medium sized envelope 30 x 2 x 21 cm and weighing 100 grams was refused as a large envelope. The contents, 2 small piece of fabric felt costing £1.80 and although it was to be sent recorded signed for I was told it was too big to go through a letterbox, although I had no trouble doing so???? They wanted £3.15 for a parcel service instead of £2.15 for an envelope. I refused to pay and sourced another service "My Herms" for £2.75.
Royal Mail has no shame, they offer a totally shambolic service for premium prices and I'm sick and tired of the amount of times I've had to ring them for all the same reasons that people are writing here; lost and damaged parcels, undelivered mail, impossible to communicate with, etc....... Do we really have to put up with this? NO we do not - check Collect + who offer a fabulous service for items up to 2 kg and that costs £3.99 and for the smallest of items refer to My Herms as above.

Royalmail

Sometimes unreliable service

I often sell using eBay and always send items recorded due to a few ''missing'' items in the past. I thought sending items recorded was my insurance, a confirmation of delivery, so that no buyer could deny it was delivered. I have recently lost £35 (which I'll claim) because Royal Mails staff were too lazy to ask for a signature, they just posted the item. Now the buyer claims they haven't received the item and the tracking number just states ''still being processed'' after 45 days! Obviously a not so reliable service. This is the fourth/sixth item Royal Mail have ''lost'' in around 100 items.

Royalmail

Majorly disappointed

I bought some on the 31st January that was released on 12th February and I was told I will get it delivered on the day it's released.
But literally the postman came to my street and dropped stuff off at 3 houses and left.
So basically the Royal Mail don't pay attention as on the pack the company put NOT TO BE DELIVERED TILL 12-2-2013.
Never had problems with Royal Mail before do abit disappointed

Royalmail

rude/ unreliable

You expect you mail to arrive in the morning nope ours arrive in the evening not good when you get mail late..postman always moans when we have parcels delivered. Says he hates delivering parcels. Service with a smile not.

They are just liars!

I needed to send some documents fast, so I decided to use the special delivery service of Royal mail, since the price was much cheaper than other companies (now I know why). The next morning, I went to their web page to check the status of the package, since they promised it would arrive before 9 a.m., but it did not show anything. Hence, I called the company, several times since they didn't pick it up until the afternoon, and the guy who answered told me that the address I put was incompleted, that I didn't put the name of the street, which is completely false, I know what I wrote. Then, I told him that I needed the package back as soon as possible because I needed to submit those documents, and his reply was that the computer only says "sent back to the sender" and I would get it in 1 or 2 days, he didn't know even having the tracking number, I tried to talk to him but he was repeating the same thing like a machine, so that I told him I wanted to make a complaint. After 10 minutes waiting on the phone, a new guy picked up the phone, I told him I wanted to make a complaint, I explained the situation and he checked his computer and said that the screen only showed the number of the street but not the name, I told him I wrote everything on the envelope, it wasn't me the one who wrote in the computer and I wanted to make a complaint, and he replied quite rudely that it wasn't their fault so I couldn't make a complaint. This really pissed me off, so I told him he was nobody to tell me what I could or could not do and I wanted to make a complaint then he told me I could not make this complaint by phone I needed to write to an address he gave me, which does not seem so reliable, and hang up.

I think this company should learn how to treat customers, I will never use them again and I do not recommend them to anyone.

Lies and Decption - Avoid

Royal Mail has a great scam going: charge ridiculous rates for 'Special Deliveries' or packages through Parcel Farce, then send teenagers out on delivery - who - headphones blasting, do not attempt to deliver anything, but chuck a pre-filled card in your letterbox and run away. If you even get a card. This is the most abhorrent service ever and I wish the government would step in and disband/reorganize it. TOday: same thing - no card, go all the way to pick up centre - can;t give you without the card (they never left) and no service. Total and complete JOKE.

UPDATE: another scam - mother sent package for Christmas, got it returned to another country today - claiming they tired to deliver. We never even got a slip, advice or anything. I cannot believe the government does SFA about these criminals.

Royal Mail sooooooooooooooo BAD

Royal mail arew unbelievable! I have FOURTY TWO complaints logged with Royal mail over 3 years! My parcels continously go missing, 3,4,5 in a row. No mail for 2 weeks at a time, they constantly put my post in someone elses door, never to be seen again! Left parcels OUT IN THE STREET! Royal mail apparently had a big overhaul recently and now do not start work til 11.30am!!! LAZY. As it was my post never got here til 2pm when they were bothering to work mornings! Yet now to top it all off the mail doesn't come til well after 2pm! I have missed parcels sometimes with a time of 5.30pm on the note! Ridiculous! The most shocking thing.... no ombudsman or further step in complaint with Royal Mail... because they're Royal! Royal mail are sooooooooooo bad. You suck, big time.

Royal mail steals passports

Royal mail is on a watchout for passports not sent by special delivery and they steal it to sell it in the black market for 1000£ to 5000£. If anyone wants a proof, just try sending your passport to anywhere through Royal mail, it will never get delivered. I am telling based on my own experience, and three others whom i know well.

Royalmail

So disappointed with Royal Mail

The website is easy to use and thats why they get 2 stars. The prices keep rising and I understand they are a huge company and in turn have huge overheads but one example of why I'm so disappointed is when I went to the post office to send a simple letter in a DL envelope - it weighed 56 grams.

The lady put it through that plastic measuring contraption and it went through but got stuck at the end. She then tried to charge me packet rate at £2.70 instead of a 60p stamp!

If she thought it was larger than letter rate why not charge me 90p for a large letter???

So I simply asked for my letter back and asked to purchase a 1st class stamp - my letter arrived the next day with no problems.

Royalmail

Unreliable, and the prices just keep rising!

Royal mail states that they have raised 1st class post to match the continent... yes, but the contienent offers a realiable service... its like the chicken or the egg, but with business you dont charge more to become better, your supposed to offer the best service and then charge more on the back of your repuation!

Have lost countless items with royal mail. Deutch post doesnt have these problems. Still when i lost anything of any value (under $40) they have refunded the items, so could be worse. Would have rather the items arrived in the first place however!

One other huge critisism is sometimes my postman has LIED 100% and put a letter through the box saying i wasnt in when trying to deliver something. Ive even been at the top of my stars (live in maisonette) when one postie put the letter through my box. Did she knock? lol, no, i didnt even realise until it was too late, thought it was just regular post)

Royalmail

Unreliable but they're cheap

I use them for business mail order purchases, and they lose between 5-10% of my orders which costs me money in refunds and replacements. Their complaints procedure for claiming back is tedious and time consuming.

I'm stuck with them though as there's not other companies that provide the pricing level that they do.

Royalmail

Service charged for but not given

In November I posted 3 small parcels (eBay related) from the same Post Office, all First Class Recorded Signed For, this is 77p extra per item which I paid myself for my own peace of mind.
Only 1 of these parcels was shown to arrive. Although the other 2 parcels were delivered, it was only by chasing-up the buyers that I got to know this.
I contacted Royal Mail, but they just say they'll 'look into it' - no refund of the 2 x 77p though.

Royalmail

where do i start........

I run a websales business and have been using these guys for years but their service has become more and more unreliable.
From parcels going missing to their poxy claim proceedure, i have lost all faith in them. I am currently looking at using a different company with whom i can trust.

Royalmail

Very good!!!

Especially in comparison to other postal services Royal Mail is very good! Our postman is helpful and nice, our post office works well and the delivery service is excellent. Also their website is well structured and offers what customers need.

I have just had the most appaling experience with City Link. Do not even go near them!

Royalmail

Better than UPS! (some say)

I have had many customers in the US saying how quick my parcels get to them. This website makes fast dispatch much easier. When I think of the all the time I used to wast waiting in line at the post office!
