They deliver at the most inconvenient times, offices are closed when you would expect them to be open. They obviously don't care about the customer experience since there is little effort or desire to be flexible and provide a 'service'.
I have many deliveries from other companies and occasionally suffer problems. With RM it is more often than not. They are a PITA.
Best service around... If I drop the parcel off with an overnight service, it really is overnight. When it snows it's still overnight! The guys who deliver to me are always positive too and the items NEVER arrive damaged. Only complaint is prices are rising pretty fast. Still worth using over other services though :)
What can I say, but my local posties are brilliant cannot fault them , they go beyond
To get my parcels to me as they know I work and life close by so I never miss a parcel which is many lol
Unlike some couriers, Royal Mail go beyond what they get paid for
Keep up the good work very impressed
And wish my posties could deliver larger parcels I have been terribly let down with
Thank you
For many years we enjoyed incredibly good service from Thailand Post when we lived there, It has come as a shock to return to the UK and experience the appallingly unreliable, sloppy and sometimes rude (not to say expensive) service of Royal Mail. (Our local postie though is usually friendly and helpful so not all bad)
Just had a bad experience trying to pick up package for our daughter. Sender had underpaid by a mere 19p so Royal Mail then slapped on an extra £1 j and subjected us to a time wasting frustrating expereince to trying to collect it. from the delivery office So far 2 wasted trips to sorting office with thoroughly unhelpful, rude threatening employee there. he refused to accept any ID I brought and went beserk when I brought my daughters utility bill and opened it - even threated to call police just because I had rushed there with it and opened a 3 phone bill. I know they have to be careful not to hand out packages to wrong person but this guy just went over the top in unhelpfulness, rudeness and being totally obnoxious. Having only recently returned to the UK from many years overseas, I'm not familiar with the bureaucratic nature of Royal Mail . He COULD have been helpful but instead was extremely rude , belligerent & threatening - all because in my rush both times I brought the wrong ID so I STILL don't have the package
What a stark contrast to the WONDERFUL service we ALWAYS had in Thailand . Sure there were the occasional hiccups but we never EVER has the sort of rude and unhelpful service like this like this. If it were Thailand Post (or Singapore Post) they would have sorted it out with a helpful, friendly attitude and polite service. They take a PRIDE in giving a first class service. Royal Mail seem to go out of their way to provide a lousy service with grumpy unhelpful staff and make it their aim to provide the WORST, most expensive postal service possible
What a stark contrast:- Royal Mail :- rude unhelpful expensive unreliable 'service
Thailand Post:-' Helpful, polite efficient and reliable service
Come on Royal Mail give up call it a day and admit you don't know how to run a good service, hand it over to an organisation that does know how to give polite, helpful, service and whose employees take a PRIDE in doing it properly instead of treating customers like dirt
In Thailand even posting letters is a pleasant experience. We have clean air conditioned post offices with an efficient queuing system take a Q number and sit and wait to be called to the next available counter - and friendly helpful staff. AND a an airmail letter to the UK costs less than posting in the UK. (16 baht i.e. 28p to UK)
Compare that with the usual unpleasant grotty UK post offices with the cattle grid queuing system and often grumpy staff coupled with extortionate postage
After this unpleasant experience coupled with yet another extortionate rise in package rates I' will be avoiding RoyalMail whenever possible and switch to using parecl2go for all my packages in future AND requesting senders if possible to avoid using Royal Mail
The bottom line is ROYAL MAIL does NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS . They seem determined to give the worst possible service with high prices, staff trained to be rude and unhelpful, give and unreliable but expensive service. They seem intent on running themselves out of business. That the impression they give..
As Pvt Fraser famously used to say in Dads Army We're doomed, we are all doomed. Seems to be the case with Royal Mail if the attitude of their staff is anything to go by.
I'am from Denmark. Order sent Monday from London and arrived Tuesday in Denmark. Now I'am awaiting the Danish postal service to deliver the package.
Thank you Royal Mail.
Special delivery sent from business for 9am - critical approval documents for a deadline job - unkempt, unprofessional postie runs away after tossing in a 'while you were out' card - when we sat and watched him. Never rang the buzzer, nothing. IN fact, didn;t even have the envelope with him. This is standard practice for Royal Mail, and I cannot believe someone in that useless UK givernment does do something about it - the internet is floating in complaints about this. Still, they charge and charge, and nobody does anything.
Note to the wise: make a deal with a local merchant, news agent, have your parcels sent there - if the shops open all day, they can't get away with it.
I've used Royal Mail extensively over the last 20 years and would say, from my experience, that they are the best for both personal standard letters and parcels.
I have recently had extensive problems with myHermes and other providers who have been selected over Royal Mail for cost savings. I really don't think it's worth the move.
In addition, Royal Mail's collection service (for when we're out and the post woman or man hasn't been able to deliver) is brilliant. They even know us by first names in our North East London collection depot. Thoroughly recommended!
I have been using Royal Mail for the last 4 years, never had any issues. Quick and Reliable.
Never had a problem with Royal Mail.
Excellent reliable staff too.
Always trust in them to deliver!
No worries here.
Ok so I refused the package after talking to dealer and it has been never returned.
This is not acceptable and I hope I will not use them again.
Very unreliable.
I order lots of packets online , always arrive on time , cannot ask for more , great service .

Use their online business service which over the years we have been forced into doing - was shocking at times but they are getting their act together - just in time for the big sell off!
Royal Mail lost a £45 hoody when returning it to Republic for refund. Completed claim form 65 days ago. In this time received 2 letters from RM delaying matters while they contact Republic. 3 phone calls getting updates within this time promising cheques, still no cheque as of today. When I called earlier they said "Republic have not responded to our letters we now need to email them". Morons! I put my foot down and they are issuing a cheque on Monday. Why the need to push until they do the right thing?
Unfortunately, Royal Mail is the only service available.
I run my own business where I send around 15 packs a wekk and I can guarantee that will have to make at least 3 claims, thats weekly! I use brand new padded envelopes and reasons to make the claim range from items not arriving, damaged and/or opened.
I receive around 20 packages per week, most from Royal Mail and around 50% of these have been damaged to some degree. The damage ranges from being forced through my letter box being either folded in half or forced through ripping the padded envelope. I have even received packages that have tyre marks on them as well as the occasional footprint. My current postie stands on my mail if it is windy and I need to sign for something hence the footprints or puts them between her teeth. If they are between her teeth I sometimes end up with a strip of spit too and despite mentioning this and reporting her nothing is done. The worst case with present postie was that she lost an item valued at £90 because it was windy and her excuse was that it must have blown away in the wind! The item weighted close to 500g!
I can post a parcel second class and it arrives the next day and then again it could take 2 weeks and no one cares to explain why the difference when it is both mainland UK deliveries.
If there was a reasonably priced alternative then I would ditch RM but of course they will still deliver (and I use that word very loosely).
What bugs me as well, is I live in a well built up area and there are 6 posties and 3 vans all covering an area where 2 years ago there was one postie and one van. I thought that RM had less mail due to email but it looks as though they have had a 110 fold increase so why the laying off of staff and closures of hundreds of Post Offices?
Royal Mail I pray for your demise daily!

I don't think royal mail appreciates that the majority of the population work. The parcels are delivered in the morning and surprise I'm not in, I can't get it redelivered to work as it is outside of my postcode area and it then gets left at my "local depot" it is not local to me, I can't think of anywhere less local and if I want it to be sent to my local post office which I guess is the one in town then I have to pay for the privilege!
Never had a problem with Royal mail and parcels, and love being able to pick up from local sorting office.
this has to be one of the best mail services ever offered. I post when and where I should. Packets I send from Ebay are handled well only claimed 3 times from 2500 transactions, the price is far cheaper for the service provided. I avoide customs charges by paying them up front, which you should do as you won't get away with it. Most of the staff are happy and very polite, not sure how many staff they employ but there are bound to be a few bad apples. Well done to national company doing a good job in very difficult times ...
Royal mail is possibly the best delivery service in my opinion. I always get my letters and parcels everyday from them and they are always quick with first class recorded deliveries. I have had one or two bad experiences but the years of excellent service outshine any bad experiences that I have had with royalmail
Probably has the worlds most user unfriendly customer service. If you want to stress use the website, if you want to go completely out of your tree try telephoning. Absolutely appalling!
Various occasions:-
1.Received letter through postbox whilst at home that needed to be signed for - I didn't sign for it, apparently the postman did!
2.Unable to park at Post Collecting Office anymore due to 'Bomb Danger'. Forced into substantial walk each time to collect post.
3. Went to collect parcel, but Post Office closed due to 'Bomb Threat'. Returned the following day to find parcel returned to sender.
4.Price stated on card for reposting item to nearest Post Office, was less than charge actually made! (Shouldn't Trading Standards be getting involved in this fraud?)
What`s the point in paying a fee for a guaranteed delivery date when you then in fact have to wait an additional 5 days for the package to arrive. None of the staff were helpful at all. A complete waste of space, they never return phone calls, are ignorant when you do actually manage to get through to speak to them and in general just show a disregard for customers!!
What on earth of Royal Mail's handling charge for the customs clearance (8.00 GBP) ? I don't mind paying VAT, but never handling fee for the Royal Mail.
I do all my postage online as I own my own company and have always had a great service. Also all my parcel and letters have always arrived on time or even before.
Bestilte den 24. december og modtog de 4 spil jeg havde bestilt fra game.co.uk 1-1½ uge senere. Synes det er godt gået taget afstanden og alle helligdagene i betragtning
