Great to deal with from browsing items, to actually ordering. They keep in touch with you all the way, letting you know when the goods have been dispatched, and an approximate delivery date. Always a good selection of gear, and in stock.
First online order with Rutland Cycling couldn't have been easier or smoother. Ordered a large Raleigh folding workstand on a friday afternoon and it was delivered the following monday morning. Couldn't have wished for it to have been any quicker.

I have ordered from Rutland on several occasions before and they have always provided excellent service and this time was no different. The online process is very easy to use and slick as well. I placed the order and within a few seconds I had the confirmation email in my inbox. The next day I had another email to say when my order was likely to be dispatched. They said there could be a delay and gave me a new time scale. The item turned up well before the expected date which I was very pleased with. Packaging was good as well as their communication. Great company and would definitely order from them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...but I was concerned about my order for a while. My order status was at "Awaiting authorisation" until the following day when I called to find out what that meant. My delivery ended up arriving the following day (free next day? can't fault that) and the person I spoke to was extremely helpful but I was concerned that it hadn't gone through properly.
My brother placed an order on the same day which took rather longer to arrive - apparently, they were awaiting stock - and, oddly, the delivery arrived before the email confirming despatch and he had to phone to find that information out.
Not a faultless performance so not 5 stars, but very close! I certainly would have no hesitation buying from Rutland again.
I ordered a tent, canopy and carpet at a bargain price but needed it very quickly. I placed the order on line, and then rang Rutland Cycling who ensured my order was dealt with very quickly and in the post the same day. Within 24 hours the delivery man was at my door with my tent, canopy and carpet. I just hope the sunshine continues to shine.

I recently bought a Raleigh Pioneer 1 mens bicycle from Rutland. The bicycle arrived quickly, and upon opening and taking out the parts to assemble, realised there were no tools supplied to put it together. I had previously bought a similar Raleigh from Cycles UK, who included a separate instruction booklet and tools (nut tightener and allen key) with their Raleigh package. I called Rutland's customer service and explained the situation to a very rude customer service man who explained that Rutland just sell bikes and that I'm expected to have all the tools and necessary knowledge to put together the bike myself. I was told I had to purchase an allen key set myself. On the website, there was no mention that my own tools were required, and I would not recommend buying a bicycle from Rutland unless you are very competent with bicycles. Their customer service was condescending and appaling.
i ordered an Aultra night vision jacket in orange a very good jacket as it was my first order with rutland cycles and i Received it in good time as well and i did not wait long before i received it in the post and you can not fault the customer service very friendly and helpful and i am going to buy from them in the future
I've bought numerous bits of cycling kit online from Rutland over the last few years. Its nearly always worked out well. The exception has been when something advertised hasn't been in stock, and they've been proactive in communicating with me, so no concerns there. I've phoned up for advice several times too, and it's always been spot on. So: good kit, well priced and good service. Thank you Rutland.
I had been looking around for a decent lock for my bike for when I commute to work. I own a couple of cheap ones but these have been 'borrowed' by my son and partners son and I dont think I will see them again. I found the lock I wanted at a great price and had no excuse notto get one at such a good price. The lock arrived within a couple of days and it is as good as I expected and exactly as described. I received emails to confirm the order and tell me it had been despatched and I am very pleased with my dealings with Rutland and have recommended them to colleagues.

Ordered GT85 Lube, Muc of Disc Cleaner, Dry Lube, and Park Tool CN10 Heavy duty cable cutters.
I am pleased with the performance of these, particularly the heavy duty cable cutters anf the GT85. The Cutters will keep going for ever.
Bike's are expensive, full stop, but the Coyote Minotaur 29er that I bought my lad is cracking value at £300 (down from £600). The full price would have been out of the question, but for this price it's hard to beat.
Rutland sent it very quickly with no fuss at all.

The bike stand that I purchased from Rutland Cycles was probably the best £45 I've ever spent!!! It's the Hubbies 40th on 1st June and for once he got what he asked for ( only because it keeps him outta the house!). Boys and their toys!!!
I purchased an Endura jacket from Rutland 4 months ago ( great price ) the jacket unfortunately didn't last the distance and i sent it back.....within a day i was infromed by David James Warranty Manager Rutland Cycling Ltd that my replacement was on its way and the return postage costs I incurred had been refunded. I honestly cannot put into words how much I am impressed with Rutlands customer service and David's communication. As the heading suggests Absolutely Brilliant. My only wish is that every Internet company could be half as good as Rutland.....
We visited Rutland's store at Grafham but actually they don't have any Diamondback MTBs in stock so we couldn't see one. We tried a few other bikes for size and went home again - a bit of a wasted trip. In the end we ordered one from Rutland off the internet - a Diamondback Peak Men's Mountain Bike - 2012 for £265.
The bike arrived very quickly in a large carboard box, quiite a lot of bike for the money - disc brakes etc - slightly heavy perhaps. The wheels out of the box were a bit wibbly (5mm? wobble) and we seriously considered sending it back but in the end I couldn't face the hassle so I trimmed them in a bit with piece of chalk and a nipple key. I've probably invalidated the guarantee.
Anyway my son likes it and if it lasts him 2 to 3 years I'll be happy enough.
To be honest,the service from Rutland Cycling was second to none.I placed my order for a Marin East Peak5.5 at 10.15pm on 24th March...it arrived at 1.30pm on the 26th March! Outstanding service under normal conditions but this was exceptional seeing as it was during the severely bad weather! I have been more than impressed with the bike.A quality product at an outstanding price....I don't know how you do it? I will continue to use Rutland Cycling...Well done all of you...Kev (Bridgnorth)
Although Rutland Cycles responded quickly and delivered my item quickly there were a few flaws I.e on emailing about my item which was ready for postage not all of my questions were answered. In buying a road bike I was sent the instructions to assemble a bmx and sent tools which did not fit, thankfully my housemate has a full set of Allen keys.
Bike is good for the price although much heavier than I imagined given its described as lightweight- but I believe this is a viking issue.
On the other hand I had a very cheap price and would not hesitate in using Rutland again
I bought my Nukeproof Mega frame from these guys. The frame itself was delivered super quick, so they score on that front. After managing to break my frame I found their service was second to none; I barely had any work to do myself and I always got prompt reply to emails from genuinely friendly and helpful staff. My warrantied frame was replaced with no issues. I've since continued to buy from them - their delivery times and products do not fail to satisfy!
Ordered a Tag a long on Sunday evening and was delivered on Tuesday morning. Also part assembled, which was a nice surprise. The bike was cheaper than any of the competitors and I was very impressed with the service. Will shop there again when required.
Ordered carbon road bike online last September. Was initially concerned about after sales service, warranty etc when buying online if anything went wrong.
I needn’t have been.
The price and service I got were great at purchase. Normanton team were great and couldn`t have been more helpful.
6 months on, after the bike unfortunately has developed a fault and I have had my chance to test after sales service and warranty. I couldn`t be more happy with the results. The Warranty manager (David James) went that extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. His reputation precedes him once again as has previously been commented in other reviews.
Bike arrived a day later than they stated, not a problem but not as quick as they like to make out. Had been damaged in transit rendering it unusable and had manufacturing defects. Rutland are in the process of replacing the bike, but it's been nearly a week since I ordered already and they estimate the start of next week for delivery. Instead of just arranging a swap to save time they have had the bike collected and will send the replacement once it gets to them - they had already asked me to send photos, which I had done. Feel like the whole thing is taking ages and apart from exchanging the damaged item they haven't done anything to alleviate my disappointment. At the very least I would have expected them to send it for a Saturday delivery so I'm not stuck walking to work again on Monday. Don't feel like the rating they have is anywhere near deserved and at points I've felt like their customer service has been pretty rude.
Update: bike arrived on Saturday. Had received an email stating this and was going to reply thanking them but thought I'd wait until the bike actually arrived. When it did, the packaging was damaged in exactly the same place, luckily despite the unlikely coincidence of exactly the same damage to the box and fork protector, the bike itself seems relatively undamaged. After assembly, a friend noted that he didn't think the front wheel was correctly aligning in the manner in which it should and I'm left with only suspicions as to why this may be. Since the bike seems perfectly rideable at this point, I am in no hurry to contact Rutland again to debate this issue.
Overall I have been pretty disappointed and despite the cheap cost of the bike, I am unlikely to be using Rutland again. Bizarrely, I have found that a competitor of theirs with much less favourable reviews has managed to get a couple of orders out to me in the same time with absolutely no complaint or issue at all!

I was unlucky enough to have to return an item twice (two different problems). Rutland Cycling dealt with the problems courteously and with no fuss. Note that the second time was after six months, so I half expected to be redirected to the manufacturer. Not only did Rutland Cycling save me from having to deal with a third-party, they replaced the original product with the latest model as a good will gesture.
The web needs more e-commerce sites like Rutland Cycling. Great customer service is not dead.
