I bought the Specialised MTB mini air tool (great pump) to go on my Specialised mountain bike. However the bracket for attaching the pump to your frame is not the standard width (sligtly shorter) and I only realised this after cross threading the bolt.
Do Specialised not test their products on their own bikes?
A simple 10 minute job has given me a world of hurt and is likely going to cost me more to get it fixed.
I ordered some gloves on line which the website suggested were in stock. That day I received an email thanking me for the order. I noted payment was taken on the same day.
Five days later a second email stated we anticipate your order will be despatched in the next couple of days. Please allow 2-3 working days for delivery.
Six days later I rang to check when the order would be delivered. I was told we are waiting for them to come from the supplier or one of our shops when I asked when they would be likely to be delivered I was told I don't know we will let you know.
3 days later an email stated they had been despatched. They arrived 4 days later.
18 days to deliver an item supposedly in stock is very slow. Add to this the very unhelpful person on the phone and that payment had been taken before the product was available and I am a dissatisfied customer.
I must state that I have previously purchased items on line from Rutland Cycling and although not a quick service it has been OK. That makes this experience more noteworthy.
I received a good response from Rutland Cycling to the above so hope they do as they said. I will find out next time I use them.
Very happy with my new front light. There was some confusion over delivery which was easily sorted out. Would certainly use Rutland Cycling again.

We ordered an infant cycling helmet for our 7 month old baby. The price was £14.99, cheaper than Halfords and Amazon for a very nice looking and well fitting helmet. She looks crazy in it because her head is so small but she kept it on for our short test ride last week.
The service from Rutland Cycling was very good- the helmet took a few days to arrive as they ordered it in from their suppliers, but it was within 4 days I think. They sent me an email each day to let me know the status of the order. Very helpful, excellent customer service. I will use them again :)
I've recently started training for a 105 mile charity ride and i turned to Rutland Cycling for advice; first via Facebook, and then in store. They've always gone that extra mile and provided outstanding service and advice.
I purchased a set of panniers from Rutland Cycling. They were dispatched the next day, and I received an email telling me so. My order was unfortunately delayed by the postal service, and the customer service personnel at Rutland really couldn't have been better. In fact, a few weeks later when I fitted a front rack on my bike, I went straight to the Rutland Cycling website and ordered another set of panniers. Their prices are fantastic, and the range of goods on the website is pretty impressive too. I will definitely be shopping here again.
Cracking little bike with a good discount compared to other shops. Bike arrived 2 days before delivery date. Follow up email to ensure all delivered and ok. Offer of free maintenance session / tutorial at shop. Can't fault Rutland Cycles at all - excellent service!
I'd searched all over the internet and local retailers for an Exposure Redeye Micro and where I'd found a good price I couldn't find stock. Where I found them in stock, the price was full retail.
Rutland Cycling had the item in stock and at a fantastic price... Delivery was very quick as well!
Ordered a pair of Airlite Race fenders arrived well packaged 2 days later.
Needed to fit mudguards to a none mudguard bike only extras needed was some clips to fit to the forks and seat stays after that all was good.
I ordered 3 bikes online for my children, 2 arrived very promptly but rececvied a call about the 3rd bike, I did not notice when placing my order that this was a store collection bike only. This was a bit disappointing but Robin was extremely helpful in helping me choose another bike within our budget. Overall a great selection of bikes with quick delivery. 2 extremely happy children and I'm sure that it will be 3 when we have delivery of the last bike

My wife found the Exposure Diablo light £50 cheaper than elsewhere and so I got great Xmas present. When I looked around to get the redeye rear light attachment, again Rutland cycles was cheapest. Topped off with fast and efficient delivery, I can't fault the service.
Having looked around my usual online cycle stores for a new front light, I stumbled upon the sale items at Rutland Cycling. I'd not previously heard of Rutland before and approached it with an air of skepticism. However, unlike some of the other sites I'd been checking out, the item was both competitively discounted and more importantly in stock and was delivered within a matter of days - even in the post-Christmas postal catch up.
I tried the light out for the first time last night and can highly recommend it, both as a means of seeing and being seen. (It's the first time I've been flashed by a car as being too bright!)
Every time I've been into the shop the help and advice has been brilliant. Even though I'm a novice and don' t know much about bikes the staff have always been great and have been able to talk to to me in a language I understand and hey've always found the right thing for me. No sales for the sake of it either. When I've used the website to order stuff it's always arrived really quickly and well packed. I wouldn't buy my bike stuff from anyone else
I bought a new bike - excellent in store advice with knowledgeable, friendly staff. A couple of days later, an order I placed on-line was taking a little while to be processed - so I called up to chase it. When the staff realised it had gone awry, they sourced the item from their shop, and it was delivered to me by a member of staff on their way home from work! You simply don't see customer service like this any more. Ten out of Ten.
Item was received very promptly using a courier.
Communications via email were excellent and kept me up to date with the progress of my order.
Having had such an excellent service on this order I would definitely recommend Rutland Cycling to my friends.
I tried to buy a pair of shorts because they were advertised on next day delivery. A week later still no shorts so I email to find out why and I'm told that they are on a back-order and will take another 2 weeks to be sent out which I wasn't happy with because I needed these for a holiday I was going on. I told them I was prepared to wait but that I wasn't happy with the customer service because unless I had inquired I would never have known that the delivery time had gone from next day to over 2 weeks! The next thing I know I get another rude email a few days later saying that the order has been cancelled and I've been refunded. Rutland Cycles had my money for a full week which meant I couldn't purchase from elsewhere and then went back on their second promise of two week delivery and cancelled my order without warning. Extremely poor customer service, I wouldn't purchase from Rutland ever again. Extremely unprofessional, disorganized and rude staff. The tone of their emails was extremely poor throughout and they offered no apologies or reasons for any of the delays etc. I've never written a complaint in my life online but this was so extraordinarily poor I felt I had to warn others away from Rutland.
The rear car rack i purchased developed a fault and after some intital confusion, i could not be happier with the help and speed with which the problem was dealt. I would like to thank David James the warranty manager as being especially kind and helpful - making sure that i was happy with the replacement parts and that the fitting (of the rack) was correct.
Overall i have found Rutland to be a good company to deal with with excellent prices and range of cycling goodies.

I purchased a new Mongoose BMX, and I am very pleased with the bike itself, the delivery and the e-mail notifications I received tracking the progress of my order, this is how all businesses should operate. Well done to the guys at Rutland.
Delivery was very quick even in the Christmas period, and price was good, the only criticism was that a price was not updated on the website to match a promotional email that was sent out but they addressed this quickly
I ordered some cycle lights as a last minute Christmas gift purchase for my son, who couldn't decide what he wanted. Didn't really expect them to arrive in time, but they came with days to spare. Brilliant service - would certainly use this company again.
