I ordered the HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b003SA and it arrived less than 48 hours later despite choosing the 5 day delivery option. It came via the courier DPD with a text to me in the morning advising the hour window for delivery.
The laptop has worked great so far and I wouldn't hesitate in choosing to shop with this company again.
That being said, I have not had to go through the returns procedure and from reading the reviews below this may not be a smooth process.
Good price on this laptop ordered on Friday and was delivered on Tuesday showed laptop in England up to Tuesday morning and then later received a text to say that it would be delivered later that day. Laptop packaging very flimsy but I examined the package and it was not damaged. It said there was no bluetooth on the laptop and I ordered a bluetooth usb dongle. My son booted up the laptop we found there was bluetooth on it and this was not on the original spec. The laptop is going well and we have no problems keep fingers crossed.
I ordered a Sony Vaio laptop worth close to £900 from SOL because the price was good and their website indicated they had 20 in stock. It should be delivered within 4 working days which was perfect timing for me.
I went abroad for a short trip and as I returned back to the UK I got an email and text urging me to contact SOL which I did 4 days after the order was placed. They only checked my name, address and credit card number and said the laptop would be delivered within the next 4 days. That was annoying.
4 days later I received an email which informed me about my laptop being delivered that day. It wasn't so I checked the online tracking on their website but it didn't have the tracking ID so I couldn't track it. I called SOL and I was told there were no laptops in stock so I would have to wait another 2 weeks for it to be delivered.
It has been 2 weeks since I ordered the laptop, I even got an email prompting me to review the company (which I'm doing now).
Their website currently says there are 4 laptops of the exact type and specs available now - which is a horrible lie, there aren't any. Or if they are, why don't they send one to me? I've already paid for it!
Avoid SOL, I think they lie about their stock to attract customers.

I used SOL as I am a close monitor of Laptops and money saving!
I had no problem with the ordering process, however after a little investigation on SOL customer service information I decided to pay £9.99 for a 14 day Collect and Replace Service as from past experience of buying and personalising Laptops this is good value.
Anyway delivery was excellent especially as free, constant emails and text messages updates, Product was very well packaged especially as it had been opened to allow a free Ram upgrade and now my Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M3-581T is running like a dream...
Save on laptops website easy to use and offers products that are good value for money. I like the ASUS N-Series laptop, stylish design and neat little sub-woofer too.
I liked the parcel tracking service which enables you too see on a map where your parcel is and how soon it will be delivered.
Read a review of the Acer S3 in PCPro and a search soon revealed that Save On Laptops (Box Ltd) was by far the best value. Lots in stock so I ordered for my company. I also sold two more for them as friends asked for details. When it arrived it was a busy weekend (away at Jodrell Bank watching Sigur Ros!) so it didn't get unpacked immediately.
When I did it was obvious that the whole thing was 'warped'. The base has a distinct wobble across the corners of about 5ml ob a flat surface. I tried my friend's and that was perfect.
The the fun starts. How to get a replacement? First up, it is obvious that the SOL website is constructed to deflect customers with issues. Try to find any reference to 'returns/ complaints/ problems' on the home page. There isn't any. Click on 'help' and there is no reference to faulty product- only returns. I don't want to return it- I want a replacement. After a run around various pages, terms, conditions and warnings, I was advised to contact the manufacturer as they ' offer the quickest solution for any issues'.
I rang the SOL contact number. I pressed '1' for customer service. A recorded message tells me that they open at 10am. I redial and try '2'- same message. I run a shop that opens at 9am. At 10am I will have customers to deal with.
So I did as advised and rang Acer. They were amazed that I had rung them. (I DO know that it's the retailers' responsibility- I'm a retailer.) They would have to escalate the matter. When I explained that I wanted a replacement, not a repair, they said that they would escalate the problem and ring me back. 24 hours later a lady rang back and told me basically to get in touch with Save On Laptops- it was nowt to do with Acer.
Back on to the SOL telephone. Customer Service tell me to ring again and select option 2- they can't transfer me (bet its the next desk in the office...) The guy who answers advises me to fill in an RMA request online, even though I want a replacement.
This I do. I have had an email saying that Customer services will contact me within 24hrs.
So I am now at 48hrs later, after following SOL's own advice, and no further forward. And I have no idea whether or not they will replace the laptop. And the department which refused to talk to me is the very department that will be contacting me....
.. and I have an unusable laptop which looks georgous!
The saga continues. Customer service? Not so far.... Stark contrast to Misco (telephone help instantly) and Amazon (superb online returns system.)
I'll update the review with further details as they happen.
OK- here's the update!
I finally found the correct button to press on the website, and, in a state of total scepticism, initiated the returns process.
It worked like a dream! returns label printed out, parcel handed in at my local Costcutter corner shop. Email a day later to say it had been received. Another email 2 MINUTES later saying that 'extensive testing' (ie. they had opened the box and seen the obvious fault immediately!) had revealed it to be faulty and would I contact Save on Laptops to say what I wanted. I replied by email asking for replacement which arrived the next day. Unbelievable. So the rating goes from 2 stars to 4 stars. It would have been 5 if not for the initial pain as SOL tried to dodge their responsibilities.
I would have no problem using them again now.

Purchased a laptop which has "more than 20 in stock", only to find out 3 days AFTER the money had left my account that there were no laptops available and a refund would be processed. First, it's illegal to remove the funds from an account without shipping an item. Second, I really doubt they sold 20+ items in the time it took me to complete checkout.
After sending a few angry emails, I always get the same response: "The refund has been processed and will be in your account within 48 hours"
... It's now been at least 3 days since the first email and at least 50 since the second stating this "48 hour processing time", which is inherently unreasonable.
Stay away. They might have cheaper prices, but I think they're probably run out of a shed in Somerset.

I ordered my laptop, Lenovo IdeaPad Z585, from here having looked around at previously made reviews and found this place to be the most reliable according to ratings. With many people saying how their items came early, and were in good quality.
This is exactly what I got, I selected the standard 4-5 working day delivery and the next day I'm informed the item is dispatched, then the next morning I receive my laptop. I was very impressed and couldn't wait to try out my new laptop, and so far there have been no faults.
I highly recommend this company for purchasing laptops as they have really done themselves proud and have delivered good quality products quickly.
I ordered a laptop on recommendation of this site. The price was excellent so I placed an order. Within a minute I received a txt to call the company for security checks as the delivery address was different to the card billing address. Customer support answered the phone immediately and after a few questions they were happy. A good security check to prevent someone ordering a laptop on fraudulent details.
Free delivery was selected which stated 2 to 5 working days, the laptop arrived less than 24hrs later and within a 1hr time slot which had been give.
I couldn't ask for any more and would highly recommend this company.
I am unable to reply to the response below so will post again. I am not disputing that there is crystalised damage in the screen. What I am disputing is that that sort of damage should not occur from picking the machine up and holding it. There is clearly a fault with it. The e-mails from Marc Delaney of this company were blunt, curt and uncaring and gave the impression that they have your money, now go away. I have read another review on a different site in which a customer states they received a damaged laptop and are fighting Save on Laptops to get it sorted out. And he states that the sales line is answered very quickly, however the aftercare line just rings and rings, which was my experience also.
They get your sale but any problems with it don't interest them. Beware.
ordered at 10 oclock on thursday evening. Received e mail and text within 5 minutes to say order had been received. By 10 oclock the following morning received text to say order was being processed and half an hour later another text to say order was ready to collect. Much cheaper than other sites. Will definitely use saveonlaptops again and will recommed to friends and family.
ordered overnight, got email first thing that morning that the laptop was ready for collection at their local branch (Minworth). Collected the laptop an hour later. Excellent price too. They also have a good 'retail outlet' at Minworth with plenty of products on display, but the prices look a touch higher than online - good option to get a look at something before you buy if you live close enough.
hi bought 1 laptop for £650 and its was well worth the money plus compared to other sites even there own eBay site was from £50 - £300 cheaper, i highly recommend this site as there was no hassle at all and i had a very easy transaction and if i ever require another computer this will be my first place to look plus i would definitely recommend this site to friends and family
Hi I bought 5 computers in total from SaveOnLaptops. 2 of them recently for me and my brother are Model Lenovo S400 and saved £130 on mine and £120 on my brother with a combine saving of £78 on two bullgaurd 3PC Antiviruses.
Last 2 and half years bought 3 computers one for me and two for my friends and saved also an amount of £300 on 3 computers and addtionally Bullgaurd Antivirus of £44 x 3 = £132.
So Technically I saved over £800 in 3 years shopping that can Actually give me 3 more computers.
Brilliant and also this year I got problem with the new purchase and promptly replaced with new computer in 3 days.
ALL GOOD ALL KOOL
Laptop arrived in perfect condition with a free cover and the courier provided a 1 hour timeslot. Not a sometime today one you get with most companies. Great Price great Service and Brilliant delivery service. Thank you for being organised.
Product delivered as advertised. The delivery was complicated and took about a week because my delivery address was different to my billing address. But as soon as Save on Laptops were notified of a problem they were quick to rectify matters and deliver. I made one further query after sales and received a swift response. Delighted with my purchase after 4 days
once ordered it went through very quickly and because you are local i was able to collect within hours. my only complaint is after researching many laptops over many weeks and getting my dads approval i found the samsung R730 very nicely priced and i can only assume that because the laptop came back into stock quicker than anticipated the price had risen by £20.00
I bought the Acer 253 Travelmate as I didn't want a Windows 8 OS! It's bloody horrible, Windows 7 was good enough? Typical Microsoft, If it ain't broke don't fix it! Anyway back to the review. I had an Asus Laptop which was stolen in February and I wasn't happy. After checking the Laptops on the Web I could't get an Asus with Windows 7 as Standard. No way Jose am I goin to Windows 8! It's horrible and cluttered and I don't want my Laptop to look like a Samsung Galaxy or Iphone 5. I have had Acer before and although not as good as Asus (Build quality) I knew it would be sufficient for my needs. This Laptop comes with a Choice of Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8, so it gives you the choice of OS, If I ever decide to go down the Win 8 route in the future it is there. It comes with an i3 core Processor 2328M, which is 2.2Ghz with 3M Level 3 Cache, 4GB DDR3 Ram and a decent 500GB Hard Disk. Graphics are in built on the Processor Intel 3000 I believe and are OK, I don't play games so am not fussed to be honest. Delivery was next day, I ordered mine on Friday, so had to pay £9.95 for Sat Delivery. Laptop arrived about 09:40 So I was very pleased indeed! I would recommend this Laptop, although I prefer it if the Screen cover was Matte Black! I have greasy mitts and after a while it doesn't look good! If you don't like Windows 8, then buy this baby for £329.99
Can't fault the company or the laptop. Got it £20 cheaper because it was the offer of the day. Mum was well chuffed. If you need a laptop, go here. A++ What a bargain.
The website itself was very helpful when it came to choosing a laptop because of its comparison feature and the laptop I bought was much cheaper than the other sites I saw it advertised on.
After ordering, the laptop arrived just two days later and on the morning of the delivery I was emailed a precise estimate of when it would arrive instead of having to wait all day.
I've had no problems whatsoever with the laptop so far (two weeks in) so I can happily recommend them.
Ordered a laptop from here and I am extremely happy!! ordered on a Monday afternoon and got it on Wednesday! There were some minor problems with the transaction (nothing to do with the company, just a few security checks on the card that was used to pay) which i was sent a text for asking to phone them within an hour of ordering..The laptop came in perfect condition..im so glad i got it from here and not other major electrical and PC retailers like i had intended to..will defiantly order from here or recommend to friends should they need a laptop! so so happy! :)
