Stock system is broken, no communication, unreliable

Ordered an item showing as being in stock with delivery in 3 days.
My payment was taken immediately and a week later my account showed the order and it said awaiting stock.
The item itself though still said in stock with delivery in 3 days.
I sent them a message via their web based message service and they refunded me with no explanation or communication.
So it gives the impression that they either don’t have a working stock control system or they are lying about having stock.
Either way I have no faith in companies that behave this way.
Very unprofessional and discourteous.

more diabolical customer service experiences

If only I'd seen the other reviews here before I was unfortunate enough to have my waste of time close encounter with saverstore.

My experience is uncannily similar to some others here: I placed an order for an item that was advised as in stock on the saverstore website and was priced well below competitor prices for the exact same item. I paid by PayPal and the order immediately switched to "Awaiting Stock Delivery" status despite the item being still advertised on the saverstore website as in stock.

I contacted saverstore customer support via their website contact form on three separate occasions in the following 5 days after placing the order to try and get details about what they were doing but didn't receive a reply.

I didn't bother phoning the saverstore 0844 enquiry line to pursue it - after 5 days I just gave up and managed to successfully perform an order cancellation on their website. At that point I learnt that a cancellation action written into saverstore policy is a "cancellation request" which under some circumstances is not immediately actioned / refunded;

Given the zero feedback / communication by this point I decided I wasn't willing to wait indefinitely or have to go chasing saverstore via telephone calls for a refund and I went and immediately raised a PayPal resolution case venting my spleen about them in there - something saverstore is able to see when they login to their own PayPal account. Funnily enough later that evening (and most certainly *not* related to me raising the PayPal resolution case), saverstore issued me a refund via PayPal.

To sum up in short, I found saverstore customer service to be completely non existent, the saverstore website advising items are in stock when they clearly are not in stock, items are priced well below competitors prices which I assume is to draw people into placing orders for items that they'll probably never receive and the order cancellation process is aligned with all of this companies' customer related policies - hostile.

Finally there's no way to close a saverstore customer account on their website once it's created..but to be fair as soon as the account was created they started spamming me with special offer emails. Email address changed and saverstore is forever on my s**t list.

False Promises

Ordered an expensive product with the promise that it would be in stock in "1-2 weeks". after a few days my order was updated to meet the final promised day (2 full weeks), when that day came the order was pushed forward 4 days. At this point I did not want to complain, I thought, well, these things happen and 4 days it not too much longer to wait.

After 4 days the order was then updated to "in stock, delivery 1-3 days" so I was happy and expected the item to arrive soon. After 1 week I had still not received my item. I contacted customer support and they said "this item is not available and we do not have a ETA from any of our suppliers". This made me very mad. I asked them why then on their website does it say in stock and they did not reply.

I put in a cancellation request and did notice that the item changed a few days later to say "expected stock 1-2 weeks", which I knew was incorrect as I had just spoken to customer service again that day to try and push my cancellation request through and they confirmed again that they had no ETA and would not answer my question asking them why they put up false promises to customers that they know they can not keep.

I have no doubt that this company is not a scam, but they do have a terrible business model. You just can't get away with promising customer that an order will arrive in 1-2 weeks (or whenever) when their own suppliers have said "WE HAVE NO ETA" and saverstore take this as "oh, what did you say suppliers? no ETA? ok then we will tell our customers you are sending us this product next week so they will pre-oder and spend their money and we hope they will just wait as long as it takes us to get the item" That is HIGHLY immoral and should be against trading standards.

Misleading information on website, poor customer service

As Saverstore offer collections only a few miles from where I live, I've used them a few times when I need parts quickly. The service standard has been steadily declining over the last few years (they used to operate an on-site shop, staffed with genuine experts who you could chat to and ask about the products - now you pick up orders from a dark cubby-hole under their office stairs from uninterested warehouse workers), but my most recent order marks a new low.

I placed an order on the 3rd December for networking components, for a friend who urgently needed a new building fitting out. All items were shown as in stock, and on placing the order, the estimated dispatch date was shown as 4th December. Shortly afterwards, this date suddenly changed to 'to be advised' - no reason given, all of the items were still shown on the web as 'in stock'. No further news for another week.

My first chasing email was answered with a glib one-liner to say that they could ship part of the order (not helpful when you've ordered parts for an entire network). A week after placing the order I emailed again threatening referral to trading standards over their misleading site information (all items still shown as 'in stock'). Lo and behold, the next day the order suddenly became available for collection. However, by that time I had gone away on business, and as they do not allow anyone but the buyer to collect orders it was another week before I was able to get down there - 16 days after the original dispatch date I was promised when ordering.

Wholly unsatisfying service - because of the delay my friend has had to get on with building works, so the network cables are now an eyesore on the outside of the stud walls rather than running through them. Staff are unhelpful and uninterested in their work, and the website is misleading. All in all, it would have been far quicker, and no more expensive, to have my order shipped from another nationwide etailer than from a business less than 10 miles away.

Surprisingly good after reading the reviews here

I ordered a nitro radio controlled car from Saverstore as it was significantly cheaper than I could find elsewhere. I only searched for reviews of the company because on reflection the price seemed too good to be true and suspected a rip off. When I viewed this review page I was confronted with all the bad reviews and felt I was in for a long wait for my item at best or not receive it at all.
After ordering the status page showed 'awaiting stock delivery' and estimated shipping date. Then on the expected shipping date the status changed to 'to be updated' which of course concerned me as I thought all the bad reviews were coming true. However the following day I checked the website and was pleased to find that the status had changed to complete. I received the car the next day. Perfect item, great packaging and all as described.

Positive - Very happy that I saved a great deal of money using this website.
Small negative - The information on the order status page could do with being more informative.

Avoid this company

I ordered a product which the Saverstore website stated was 'in stock' and would be sent within three days. After I placed the order, the status on my order was changed to 'awaiting stock'. The three day deadline was then not met. I looked again at the product range on their website, and was surprised to see Saverstore was still saying the product I had ordered was 'in stock'. After two weeks, I received an email from Saverstore that the product I had ordered was not available and that it would refund my payment.
I went to Lambda-tek and ordered the product from them instead for the same price and Lamba-tek delivered it to me within 24 hours.

DON't TRUST - I have had to contact Trading Standards

I ordered some software and licenses that showed in stock.
Once ordered, and paid for of course, this status then changed to AWAITING STOCK DELIVERY

I telephoned the company and was assured that it would be received even though it said it was awaiting stock. After not receiving it in the days promised and using their online tracking which still showed it as out of stock, I called to ask about cancelling. I was told to cancel using the Saverstore online cancellation button. This button DOES NOT exist. So I called back and i used the email form as told by their representative. Two days later I received the product after cancelling, I called for a refund and return and was told that this was not possible as I now had the product. When I called to ask why, I was hung up on and then told that I lied and I never called to cancel. I have then emailed them 4 times and no response. I have contacted my card company to refute charges and Trading Standards to complain. I would hate for anyone else to have to waste time dealing with them.
BEWARE this company is not trustworthy. They will tell half truths and keep your money. I am not the first person to have problems with this company. Do a search and you will see that this Company is ripping people off, giving false delivery times and plainly not being honest.

Not good, not good at all.....

I ordered on Tuesday 2nd July a PC case from this company, it was needed to build a PC for a customer of mine, and I ordered this specific case, a Storm 2, as it said on the site IN STOCK

Once ordered, and paid for of course, this status then changed to AWAITING STOCK DELIVERY

I telephoned the company, but could not get through, so I tried again the following day, and spoke to a guy who then told me that SAVERSTORE does not hold all lines of product in stock (which is fair enough not all lines would be expected to be held) and that this would be sent directly to me from the supplier

I asked why then did the product page state this as in stock?

The reply was "I am not sure"

Not very sure were you!!

I was assured this would be to me for the weekend, delivery would be Friday the 5th July, and I expressed my concerns as this was important, it HAD to be here on the 5th, I was assured it would be.....

I emailed them on the 3rd to check, and received an email reply telling me it is due for delivery tomorrow....

5th comes, all delivery guys I have in been and gone... no case...

Phoned them to find out where it is,

"oh, Im sorry, it wont now be to you until the earliest on Monday, still awaiting stock"

I had a minor melt down on the phone, and there answer to all the above was "Im really sorry, but you will not get this till Monday"

As a result, the guy cancelled his order, he needed it for the Sunday for a present for his game mad son, so all the other components I brought have now had to be sent back, at MY COST, for a credit

Thank you so much to this company, you have cost me time, money, and a loss of income, because your left hand doesnt know what your right hand is doing

Well done.... and you think a SORRY will cover that, I will NEVER use your services again, EVER

items not in stock, easy to put bargain prices on those!

Tried to buy an awesome deal, kingston 8gb 2133 ram for only £16!!. Paid for the item online, and the order status went on hold. Phoned up, and they said..."oh it appears we just sold the last item this morning, would you like another". NO! I asked for refund, and they promptly refunded. I checked the site again... and lo and behold the item is STILL ON SALE though they have no stock.

Ridiculous price designed to bring people to their site. Its called lying in normal circumstance.

Don't bother with these guys.

Showing items in stock when they are not and not expected in the foreseeable future is unacceptable.

The item I want is still showing as In Stock on the site. However, after 2 weeks my order is still sitting at the status 'waiting for stock delivery' and I have had no response from customer service for my queries about when they intend to ship.

Good Value and helpful

We ordered a build it yourself computer from Saverstore, they did not have one of the components in stock, but upgraded us at no cost after I phoned them to ask why the order was showing as waiting for stock, also we were able to speak to an expert who answered all our question. Delivery was within 2 working days. Very good value for money.

Non-existent support - No notification of delays - Can't cancel Item.

Just placed an order from them, and was informed it will be delivered within 3-5 days.
2 weeks later, I went to their website to see what was going on, and looking at the tracking system, I could see that they didn't even have it in stock yet.
Ok, I understand they can't have everything in stock all the time, but there was not a single e-mail from their site informing me of any delays.

I then filled in their contact form and told them that if they cannot get the order to me within the next 2 days, to cancel it and refund me.
Once again, I received no reply, and have just sent in another request to have the order cancelled.

It also states in the FAQ that their is a 'Cancel Order' button in the Invoice section of the site, but this is false, the only way to cancel is to send a customer support form to their non-existent support team.

1/10, will never ever use again.

Best price and able to collect

Purchased a high end Gigabyte motherboard sold at 50% of original Aug 2011 price (best price on-line). Smooth transaction and able to collect from Luton collection point within 3 days. Good comms and item packaging was perfect.

First time I have purchased for a number of years and slightly sad to see the 1994 placard proclaiming Watford Electronics 25 years in business. I used to buy stuff from the counter for a number of years and they were always helpful and knowledgeable.

Cheap, but cheap for a reason.

90% of the order was delivered next day. Remaining item took 4 phone calls over the space of one and a half weeks with all the excuses under the sun to get them to ship. They simply do not care about the customer.

OUT OF STOCK

why does this shop insist on having stock listed on the website then take your payment, only to have it refunded because the item is actually out of stock, why not save all the hassle and have an out of stock label in the listing!!! wow that would be helpfull now wouldnt it. the item i have been told is out of stock is STILL coming up as IN STOCK on the website, very helpfull.
i dont like Placing orders, Paying, Recieving Confirmation than a day or two later when you are actually expecting the item to arrive recieving an e mail stating out of stock and a refund will be given. Time now to start again looking for the product at a good price which another company can deliver all be it probably a few days latyer now than i wanted!

Zero stars actually

To say this company has poor customer service is an insult to poor customer service- it's actually far worse than poor. I ordered Harry Potter Lego Diagon Alley for my 6 year old son using his Christmas money on the 1st of january and recieved confirmation of my order that same day. Three days later I receive an email cancelling my order and giving me a refund (the only thing I'm happy about at the moment) saying they no longer had any stock. When I checked the website they were advertising the lego set, but at an increased price. I called customer services to be told that when i ordered it was only a promotional stock, that there was none left and because it was Xmas they didnt have staff available to change the website. I then wrote an email asking for a full explanation as to why they were not honouring my confirmed order they stated that the new stock was from a different supplier at a different cost and they couldn't offer me the product and absorb the cost difference. Poor excuse in my book as I ordered the product in good faith according to the advert on their website - hardly my fault they can't get their advertising sorted during the busiest time of the year for online shopping. Needless to say I think they are shoddy, misleading, dishonourable and a disgrace to customer services. I will never reccomend this company and they will never get a penny of my hard earned money. POOR POOR POOR POOR POOR WORSE THAN POOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunatley there's no option for Zero stars!

I ordered a new computer system for work on the 22nd July 2011, it was on a promotion and showed as in stock ready for delivery in 2-3 working days.
When I hadn't received it in by the following Thursday I contacted them to see where it was as it now showed on order tracking as 'awaiting delivery from supplier'. I eventually spoke with them on Tuesday 2nd August.
I was told it was oversubscribed and was offered a replacement system instead, which was in stock so 2-3 working days delivery.
Now the tracking shows as, guess what 'awaiting delivery form supplier', which means no new PC for me.
I sent them a message on the 4th asking what was happening, got no reply so called them at lunch time today 5th August. Sure enough the item is awaiting delivery to them from their supplier and they expect them on Monday 8th August, I've been told I will get free next day delivery so should have it by Tuesday 9th August.
I don't see this as next day delivery as the original order was 22nd July. It's certainly more than the 2-3 working days shown on their website.
Incidentaly the replacement system they offered me still shows as in-stock on their website, even though it isn't. Is this false advertising I wonder, hrm, let me go check the legal books.
I've ordered from them before and the equipment has been fine, but this is simply not good enough.
I own a small business, which is now expanding and need to order quite a few IT systems and peripherals over the next 2 months, but I think I'll have to order elsewhere. I would recommend anyone else thinking of ordering from this shower should do the same.

Good Products, Good Prices & Good Service

In the last three years I've bought a number of items from Saverstore and never had any problems. Most recently bought a Samsung Laptop for far less than I could find it anywhere else. Saverstore showed it as delivery in 1 to 3 days. It was delivered at 10am the next day.

A number of my friends also use the site and none of them has had a problem.

They were fast and efficient for me

I have used saverstore for years and get the eshot all the time
I got the latest and there was a 24" AOC LED screen on there at a great price so ordered yesterday at 4:30pm ish got it this morning delivered to my places of work.
I read the comment below and thought that is not the experience I have had with them and i have had the type of service from other Very Large online retailers.
I suspect there are 2 sides to any story and I felt I should give mine.

In stock then Not

Ordered a chair which saverstore stated was in stock. When the stated dispatch date passed and dispatch confirmation wasn't recieved I chased. No reply but the order status changed on order tracking. Another dispatch date missed. Then I received an email stating the order was cancelled due to the product being discontinued yet the website still shows it in stock. Great service!!!!
