Have used scan for years as my sole supplier of IT products for my customers, however, I am seriously disappointed with the total lack of customer support on this occasion.
Scan advertised an item on special offer which later turned out to be out of stock due to a stock level discrepancy. The first email from Scan was very vague, claiming that they were so busy they hadn't been able to get all orders out. I gave them a couple of days and heard nothing, only to be told that it was not due to the warehouse being busy, but the item I had ordered was out of stock and would be for the foreseeable future. I was not offered a replacement product (even though Scan had taken my money) and was told if I wanted a replacement, I'd have to pay the difference or have a full refund. This is unacceptable.
Refund received and all is well.
As stated simply the best, never let me down.
I discovered SCAN a few years ago while looking for a new router. Was browsing via Google shopping and came across SCAN. I have never used them before so I was a bit cautious. But then I was surprised when I found the products that are on sale here! There are so many, and at reasonable prices. The router, first order came when the day I picked. You can do this when you place the order and even choose a time (at extra cost) so it can fit around you and the delivery isn't to expensive to be honest. You also get constant updates via DPD to let you know when your package is going to be delivered on the day via text message. eg: between 10am and 11am. Brilliant and it means you don't have to wait in all day for the courier.
They also do finance options but I have only used the pay break service. Works like a loan and takes out a sum every month plus a deposit and service free.
I always come here for my computer parts and builds. They come fully bubble wrapped to protect the components and peripherals, a good idea when you have hard drives. They also have an option, for a little more to add something called SCAN secure, so when you accidentally install or break a component, they will replace it for free, this is also a small extra free for some piece of mind.
Returning products is also very easy. I had a faulty graphics card and I simply phoned up to arrange a pick up and they took it of, had a look and tested it, confirmed it was faulty and got my refund within a couple of weeks. Again, with constant updates to let you know who the RMA is getting on via there website.
Keep up the work SCAN, always love the products and the service.
Only small gripe would be with the website. Although it isn't bad, it sometimes can be a pain to find what you are looking for, especially if it's something not very popular and small.
But other then that, it's great. They must have a close partnership with companies like EVGA, Nvidia and Intel to bring out there products on release, great availability and promotions!
I can see myself using SCAN for the near future and rarely use any other computer component site.
I have purchased a couple of PC parts from this company many have outlasted their warranty period but you do get the odd one that doesn't which is not scans fault I agree. But when you contact their technical team, after submitting a ticket as you are unable to contact by telephone, you have to keep chasing them up to get an answer.
On one occasion I contacted them regarding a Graphics Card I purchased, it took nearly 2 weeks to get a reply from them to tell me to do certain checks, which had already been done as i'm a fairly confident PC builder for over 10 years now. After replying what checks I had done they responded with an answer have I tried another Graphics Card to see if that works (WHAT!) so you expect me to go any buy another VGA card to test in my system, I told them I don't need to as I have already tried this VGA card in my other two systems and the fault is still present. Even after stating this they still reply with i need to try a different VGA card.
In my eyes they are trying to get out of replacing a faulty item, as its their responsibility to claim it back from the VGA manufacturer, and obviously they don't want to do this. In the end I contacted Nvidia myself and at my cost i sent the VGA card to them. Within 2 weeks I received a brand new Card from them stating the one i sent in was faulty beyond repair.
Due to the lack of support & knowledge from Scan I no longer use them, I have gone back to using Novatech & Dabs who are far more responsive when it comes to customer service & after sales issues.
You get cheap prices at a cost of poor aftersales.

I love this website, they have everything at the cheapest prices. They have next day delivery which is great. The customer service is good and fast. Shopped on this website 3 times already and will definitely do so in the future. This is my favourite website for purchasing technology.
Ordered a memory card and it arrived less than 24 hours after I placed the order.
Great communication, including letting me know the 1 hour slot DPD would deliver, with the option via the text message to change the date or leave with neighbour.
Item arrived extremely well packaged, and exactly as described.
Recently purchased a replacement motherboard from scan (my previous board was refused an RMA from another site due to damage to the socket) the board was delivered the next day.
Would recommend to anyone, they will be seeing repeat business from me in the future.

Scan has everything you need on a clear too understand website that feels very premium compared with others. Prices I have found always match sites like eBay but buying from scan you get everything packaged safely, together and dispatched the same day. Dpd and scan make a great service and will buy again constantly in the future.
My first experience with Scan was through Ebay and the service was absolutely brilliant. Continues purchases proved the same and after making telephone and internet transactions, there was no doubt about Scan's consistent approach to sales. I don't this I need to go elsewhere as prices are competitive too.
The courier service is polite too. Wow. I'd say a top service all around. Can't fault and will not fault. If you don't believe me, try them for yourself. The future of shopping for you computer bits and bobs.
Purchasing from Scan is impressive and it's made me think about them again because I was unlucky with one of 4 HDD's I'd purchased for a Windows Server 2012 Essentials build.
First off is the update system which automatically lets you know every time your order progresses.
Second is the delivery company provides you with a time slot and the ability to change your delivery date or option to deliver to next door.
Third the items arrive quickly and well packaged.
Fourth, and very important if you’re a new start-up like me their return process is just as slick as the order one. Oh, and their prices are good too!
Another fantastic PC build thanks to the flawless support of the only component store I would recommend. Vast supplies of all you could possibly need to build a PC. They also have pre-built machines. Friendly staff and well packaged items that arrive in excellent time.
I recently used Scan for a purchase and was amazed at how quick and speedy their whole operation is. The item came well wrapped in bubble wrap to give that extra protection and the ordering process and updates on where my items where in the process was a complete delight. I have to agree that other companies should take note of the high level of customer satisfaction that Scan give.
I'll defo be using again (note the cost of the items was damn keen as well)
I have beeen using SCAN as my supplier of computer items for about 10 years. They set a very high standard of both product quality and Customer service. My son and grand son are both Computer Professionals with degrees and guess who recommended SCAN to me and use them as well you're right my Family. No company is perfect and niether is SCAN they are poor in one important area Product Failure. They seem to think that failure of their products is impossible. I bought a Flat Screen Monitor (£150) which was not compatible with my PC or faulty. I returned to them asking for a refund. They said it had a scratch which nullified their Warranty and returned it to me.. My son and I went all over the Monitor and could not find a scratch.
SCAN refused to discuss the issue any further.The fact that I am still using them is testiment to the excellence of their overall serice.
I've asked for a call back up front because I needed to make up my mind about which DAS System to buy.
The agent on the phone was very competent and efficient and directed me to a product which I really love now.
The delivery was super fast and on time (tracking is really great) and the packaging was very tight and secure.
Payment options are excellent and various, but I would highly recommend to use a debit/credit card instead of PayPal – not SCAN's fault, but a refund took a long time with PayPal.

I ordered a graphics card and hard disk from Scan on Easter Friday. The graphics card was £50 cheaper than elsewhere, a real bargain. The ordering system was very good and clear (though the website is quite cluttered). After I placed my order I received updates as it moved through the system. The goods I order then arrived, on time, on the Tuesday, meaning Scan had packed and dispatched the order over the Easter weekend. Excellent service!
I'm not trying to say they are perfect, but I've used these guys 15+ times and had one issue (that wasn't actually Scan's fault per see). One of the first places I go to when searching for PC parts. All round great site and will always recommend.

You get an email at every step of your order. Even once the order has left them the courier texts/emails you to allow you to change time/date of delivery if needed.

Over the years i have used a variety of 'local' PC shops, for memory sticks, hard drives, upgrades ETC. one day in my local shop i was having the 'oh, did we really say it would be here by 1pm?, i'm very sorry but it will be Monday now at the earliest....`' on the way out i happened to glance in the back room and see the 2 guys repackaging a pile of SCAN hardware. 30 secs on Google revealed SCAN Bolton, to be about 2 miles away and open all weekend. Popped down to see them, the counter staff were very knowledgeable and helpful, the equipment is first rate and the stock and prices excellent. This is the company the trade buy from with staff and an attitude geared to help the public. Fantastic, i can't praise them highly enough.
Scan is the first place I look for computer-related purchases. Partly for convenience as their Q-collect works well for me (living about 15 minutes away) but also they tend to beat the rest on price too!
They also have a reasonable returns policy.
I've used several suppliers as a custom pc builder. Scan have a very good selection of components, staff who are knowledgeable and quick order processing time. I often use the Q-collect system as I can order and then collect directly from there store the very same day.
Scan has everything you could possibly need and at fantastic prices. Orders are normally delivered next day and you are updated every step of the way to know the exact status of your order. I've found that even with delivery costs, it is still cheaper to buy from Scan than to go into high street computer stores.
I originally had the site recommended to me by a friend and it is always my first recommendation when anyone mentions technology!
Scan always have excellent customer service, they deliver very quickly and if something goes wrong you can rest assured that it will be sorted quickly and efficiently.
It's nice to have a company actually care about their customers, not just their customers money!.

Ordered kit for a new self build PC, and was very impressed with the speed at which everything was completed and despatched. An added bonus was the use of DPD for deliveries, whom I found to also be excellent right down to the text message informing me to within an hour of when delivery was due.
The real test was when I discovered that one of the parts was defective (not Scan's fault), I informed Scan who arranged for DPD to *COME AND PICK IT UP* it up from my office - a few days later a shiny replacement was also delivered to my office, all fuss free and easy. Now thats what I call customer service!
The prices are excellent and so are the staff. It doesn't matter if you are dealing online or in person in the store there is always help at hand. The Q-collect service is excellent just order online and pick up in store when its ready and you get confirmation of the process throughout.
I've bought product from Scan for a few years now and always had top customer service ( I spent 15 years in music retail - so i know how customers should be treated).My last purchase (a power supply),had to be returned.I was a tad worried when the technical staff reported no fault with the unit.But one call to Scan's technical staff had it sorted - Gareth Fitzpatrick dealt with my problem (it seems the EVGA power supply has a problem with my Gigabyte motherboard) and a replacement PSU was with me in a couple of days.Top notch grade A service.
I bought a refurbished GPU from Scan for a cracking price, which arrived the next day. The product was faulty at no fault of Scan, and within 3 days I had a new card sat infront of me, after a warranty replacement and then a full refund.
Delivery is fast, the warranty service outstanding, prices good and the customer service team exceptional.
I ordered a micro SD card for my phone and got e-mail updates along the way, detailing the every move of my order! From picking, to despatch, to delivery schedule, Scan really do make sure you know where your order is at every point.
I have used scan computers a few times in the last year and enjoy great shopping with highly accurate descriptions.
The cost of their items are very competitive and ordering is very easy.
The Icing on the cake has to be their delivery service where you are informed every stage and arrive when stated.
I first ordered from Scan just before Christmas. I had heard about them before hand but had never used them until then. I ordered a keyboard, which arrived very promptly considering the time of the year. It was an all-round very easy pleasant shopping experience.
About 5/6 months later my keyboard started playing up. The number 9 key and backspace key were not working properly. I got in contact with scan via email as I work during the day. (emailed during the night) The very next day I received a reply as to what to do for returning the product and that they could setup a courier for me. I took them up on this offer. (Can I just say DPD are the best courier I have used so far, they were bang on time for pick up and delivery). Anyway, I packaged the item up with the correct numbers etc, sent it back and they confirmed the fault. Unfortunately my keyboard model was not in stock for a replacement however they offered to replace it with a similar priced and spec keyboard. Again I took them up on this offer. As soon as I picked out the keyboard they sent it to me via the courier again and it arrived very promptly. The easiest online exchange I have ever made. Considering I was dealt with by a few different members of their team, they were all on the same page and knew exactly where the last member had left off.
The communication between scan and myself was great and the resolution was fantastic. Plus I ended up with a keyboard I like more! I cannot fault the service.
