After a long search, I thought I had found a filing cabinet to fit in a gap. It was £50 more than similar ones but the size was important. Communication by the site was a bit slower than I have usually encountered when shopping online. When delivered the cabinet was wider than the given measurements and the same as the one I could have got for £50 less. I sent an email to Scotts but have received no reply. It would be too expensive to return it and run the risk of a very slow or no refund!
I ordered a handbag about three weeks before christmas which I believe was plenty long enough to be able to recieve it before christmas .The handbag was a present for my 88year old mother .Unfortunately after contacting both Scotts and the couriers I couldn't get any help as to why the parcel which had supposed to have been delivered twice by the couriers still didnt arrive. We run our business from our home and there was definitely no problems with mud on the road as stated by the couriers Hermes .As it is now the 29th December and still havnt recieved it and having paid for it weeks ago I am very angry and will never order anything from Scotts again.Seems like this is a common complaint for this company .!!!!!!!!!
I ordered a Christmas mantlepiece runner back in the middle of November. At the end of November I received a letter telling me that the runner was not now available but sending me a picture of another one which was ready for "immediate despatch". I telephoned the Company to say that I would accept the alternative and as at today's date 13th December the goods have still not been received or even despatched. On telephoning yesterday I was told the goods are "ready packed and waiting to be picked up by a courier". On calling again today I was told the same thing. Obviously the goods were wanted for Christmas decoration but it doesn't look like I am going to get it!!
DO NOT ORDER FROM SCOTTS OF STOW IF YOU WANT SOMETHING QUICKLY BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT GET IT!!!
I don't usually write reviews but had to get my voice heard when I bought two goose down duvets for my hubby on 14th October and they arrived a day earlier than expected. Scotts is a wonderful company to buy products from, it is my first time buying from them and i had a great shopping experience, i didn't buy online i ordered from my catalogue, though i didn't actually sign up anywhere i just got a catalogue through the post one day. I saw the goose down duvets and knew i needed to purchase a pair, this is what let me to Scotts of Stow, the products were nice quality and promptly delivered as mentioned. Customer service contacted me directly informing me that because i was a new customer they wanted to offer me a 10% discount as a first time buyer, not many companies offer such promotions so naturally i was excited. I doubt many will read this review but if anyone from your company reads this i am grateful fort discount and your hospitality.:)
Okay lets start off with the basics, I ordered my Romney sheep for my mother, though the price tag was a little hefty it has taken refuge in my kitchen as I don't have a front garden. It looks really sweet next to my Cotswold table that I picked up from Scotts coincidentally the month before, there is a lot of negativity surround Scotts of Stow but I think this is inaccurate to new buyers, I will hold my hands up I had problems ordering my beloved Romney sheep but voting them one star is immature and pointless the quality of the product is there the customer service was a bit of a let down however, the operators did pass me about a bit before my order was finally processes, as a young 1 of the community I often feel my voice isn't always heard and I am taken for a ride, the item did arrive a week late which did upset me a little but ultimately I was happy with the product, but to expand on what happened...
unique market for buyers
intelligent self aware website
authenticated encryption on orders
high quality products
catalogue order options
UK phone support
Stock issues on rarer products
Customer service issues
Ultimately I would vote them 8/10 (4/5) there a good company to buy from but if your a new customer expect minor delays depending on your product.
Admittedly Scotts of stow has its downs, customer service could be improved and the line should be free phone but when i ordered my buttermilk trolley i had no problems i ordered on the Friday and recieved it the following Thursday, people who have moaned about this company are either incompetent or impatient, you need to check stock levels when ordering products from companies that specialise in a niche market, if you order high quality, high value goods then the likely outcome is you will have an extended delivery wait, i called to check the product was in stock before ordering and as a result i wasnt dissapointed when it arrived, if your looking for quality furniture from the Cotswolds then this is the site for you, there is nothing out there like it.
On 21 October I ordered a kitchen bin (£72) from Scotts of Stow. It arrived 2 weeks later with one side missing. I rang and was told that within two weeks I would receive the missing side. Two weeks passed - I rang again several times and kept being told it would arrive. The supervisor would not speak to me so no support for her customer service agent who was very nice. Apparently there is nothing they can do to contact their suppliers to ask them to treat a customer with an unsatisfactory order as a priority.
After waiting 4 weeks for the missing side, I was told by the supervisor that I'd been misinformed - it is not possible to send out missing bits of an order. So on 7 December they ordered me another kitchen bin. I was promised this bin between 14 and 16 December. They wanted to send me vouchers but I said I would not buy anything else from Scotts of Stow. I asked for money off the bin and received a cheque for £25. I phoned again on 16 December because it still hadn't arrived and was told by another customer service advisor that I shouldn't have been told to expect it on that day. Unbelievable. It arrived on 20 December and several of the screw things broke as we were putting it together.
Never use this terrible company. The quality of their products is very poor. Customer Service advisors give out wrong information. The supervisor was unavailable to speak to me even when she had just spoken to her advisor. When she said she'd phone me back, she didn't, I phoned and she said she was just about to phone. This lack of concern for customers is truly amazing. I would never use this company if it was the last one standing.
Product was poor compared to catalogue image and massively overpriced. The returns policy borders on criminal; the product has to be packed EXACTLY as received, which is virtually impossible but an obvious excuse not to accept a return. You have to pay return postage. You need a returns number which you can only get by phoning an 0871 number which costs 10p per minute and, in this instance cost over 2 pounds. Never, ever again.
