Since they expanded their physical presence the prices have gradually increased. Once upon a time they were near impossible to beat on price but now their prices are on the high side. It definitely pays to shop elswhere. Sorry screwfix :(
Screw-fix is a brilliant site for buying DIY stuff. Avoid expensive stores such as B&Q and go straight at Screw-fix I bought a drill to do some DIY on my mums house and it cost me £100 less than it would have cost at B&Q!!!…Thanks Screw-fix. The only problem with Screw-fix is that you can’t look at the product before you buy. But as long as you know what you want then that’s not much of a compromise.
They have a huge range and of the hard to find parts for seemingly common things, like door locks. A little bit pricey but hey you need their expert help and its there, in a multitude of ways, store, catalogue and online etc
Get info on any deals early, Can order and collect with no postage fees. Staff always helpful. Well stocked catalogue
Always next day delivery (provided you order by mid afternoon) never had any problems and good prices too
First class company!
Love their catalogue and easy to find exactly what I need. Just unfortunate that there is not enough information on their website about exactly what I need for certain jobs if I am a novice.
Screwfix is great for the DIY or professional for a whole range of products. You get prompt delivery or can even pop to your local branch for pickup.
Have tried my local screwfix (Romford) 3 times, each time the item I wanted was not available, and I am talking basic items. On one occassion I needed to check the size of a item to order (lock for front door), when I asked the lady at the counter if she had a tape measure I could use I was verbally abused. Would never set foot in one of these stores again. Son is a electrician and he has also given up on them.
Where I work there is a screwfix depot nearby.
The website is decent, easy to navigate and you can check stock and pick up within an hour. I have used is several times and it is very good.
Only prob is that the last 3 times I have been able to place orders, but the item has been out of stock, and I only found out when I arrived to pick up the goods.....
If Screwfix don't stock it then it either not made or it does to meet their high standards. Products are supplied next day as standard
Priced up lots of different tools i.e belle mixer, makita drill&jigsaw disappointing prices.
Stuff isn't always the best quality, but you get what you pay for so if you go cheap you know what to expect.
What I love about Screwfix is that it alwatys arrives next day (for free), no hassles or worries. Over many, many deliveries I've only ever had one small error, which I think is pretty impressive given the range of stuff available.
generally use screwfix for most of my tools etc, only gripe ive ever had is i tried doing a reserve at store recently asbitsi wanted were out of stock for delivery, parts of the invoice said available to collect today and some said available tomorrow but depending on what time you do this during the day tomorrow apparently means the day after tomorrow so i ended up making two journeys. Confusing!!!

Fitted out my kitchen and bathroom using Screwfix only, myself and my husband 'amateurs' pulling in professionals for the important bits. Screwfix were fantastic, delivery great, friendly customer service - even sending a courier to swap out a replacement order (delivery and return) next day which was my fault for getting wrong! I love them.
Like everything with Screwfix just a shame I got to travel seventeen miles to a store
Good prices and customer service!
The couple of times there has been an issue,
they sorted it out and compensated me for the trouble.
Used to use screwfix a lot but gradually minimum order values and prices went up. Only look for specials or clearance now.
Toolstation have a smaller range of lines but minimum order is only £10 and you get it next day.

i WILL NOT USE SCREWFIX FOR ANYTHING ANYMORE, THEY MAKE YOU WAIT AGES IN A QUEUE AND ALWAYS TELL YOU THEY ARE OUT OF STOCK, I HAVE SEEN GROWN MEN ALMOST CRY.
I HAVE BEEN TOLD "NO STOCK" ABOUT 20 TIMES IN MANY DIFFERENT SCREWFIX SHOPS.
VERY POOR

Why can't other companies follow Screwfix's lead in linking purchases to a customer's address ? Refunds and exchanges are a 'walk in the park' because all purchases are logged to one's home address. No need for receipts and no having to haggle with a sales assistant about whether or not a refund or exchange is possible. Brilliant ! Makes you feel like a valued customer rather than a nuisance.
Prices not as good as Toolstation or from specialist suppliers , can be as much as 20% difference.
I have been let down with deliveries on three occasions so I don't use them any longer .

Just had another great delivery from Screwfix and cheaper than you can buy from the sheds
Staffed by ex-Asda muppets that have no idea about the products they sell or trades they claim to serve.
They claim to be trade sellers but their prices are definitely not. You'll get a better deal at your local merchant. This is after all a B&Q outfit.
Don't expect experience or good advice, they haven't a clue. AVOID.
Web site really slow
In order to reserve an item for store collection you have to create an account and input credit card numbers WHY......
I will be paying I store with a gift card

As A retired Electrician and now doing all those odd jobs around the house I cannot always get out to my local Depot, so I use on-line quite a lot. next day delivery and prompt attention to any queries
LOVE SCREW FIX GET EVERYTHING I NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE HERE, HAD NO BAD EXPERIENCES EITHER
I use Screwfix all the time for my carpentry supplies and find then soo useful esp the next day delivery which is free when over £50 Goldscrews are my most common buy and I couldn't work without them, Well done Screwfix!! Great!!

living in the country a l-o-n-g way from Wickes / B&Q / any large DIY store, Screwfix is a godsend. Quick, efficient delivery, very comprehensive catalogue and easy online purchase can't be faulted.
When ever I place an order, everything is in stock and delivered next day. Well packaged. Will use again.
Used to be my one-stop-shop, but since the Kingfisher (B&Q) takeover prices have gone through the roof. Guess they don't want to take business from B&Q.
On the upside, service is still good, but now it's always worth checking toolstation et al as someone else will usually have the same thing cheaper.

I live very close to a Screwfix, which is handy when I decide to work on my car or in the house, and find I am missing some important tool or other for the job.
Being close, it means that if I turn up and there is a long queue (usually around lunch time), I can go home and head back later.
Doing so means I walk in, browse their catalogue (which is very clearly laid out, I've never had difficulty finding what I need), place my order, and within 5 minutes I'm walking out of there with what I wanted.
The selection of items is good. Most tools have premium and cheapy versions available, depending what you need from them. The guys in the store are generally nice too, with a friendly and professional service provided.
I have used both online and storefront services. The range of products is excellent and the prices are usually very keen. Service in store has always been good and their delivery service has been superb. Highly Recommended.
Sometimes things are in stock and you get good service (guildford branch) othertimes things are out of stock (including their warehouse) and the service is lousy or the product is damaged and has to be returned. I tend to go to toolstation instead of screwfix. The prices are cheaper and service is better. come on screwfix get your act together and you could be a good company again!
