Excellent Customer Service & Great Prices

This is my 3rd order with Seapets and I have not been disappointed with any aspect of their service. I ordered a Juwel Rekord aquarium and they answered my many E Mails requesting details very promptly and politely. Delivery was excellent and the driver helped me check it over before signing for it. I have since placed 2 further orders for various accessories and both have been hassle free, pleasant experiences. Fast delivery and great prices! I would definitely use Seapets again.

Very deceiving Company

I have ordered some aquactics stuff off there website, which was all listed as in stock.
I ordered a protein skimmer and some marine lights. I went for the priority delivery service as I was in great need of these products. I waited 7 days without delivery or hearing from Seapets when I contact them to enquire where my order was. When I had the nasty surprise that they had not even shipped my order and infact did not even have my item in stock and was waiting to receive this from their supplier.
I was told i would not get my delivery for another further 4-7 days and I am still awaiting delivery.
Not impressed. The person who was dealing with my enquiry on the phone, was not apologetic and did not seem to think it was a problem. When infact was extremely unhappy with the overall experience with Seapets

Dishonest (more than once??)

I placed an order on their website for a microchip scanner, it said that they had 1 left in stock.

Three days later, instead of the parcel arriving, I received an email to say that it was out of stock and they'd send it when they got more, some 2-3 weeks later. As I needed the item urgently I asked for a full refund to be made to the credit card I paid with.

I received an email to confirm that this had been done, but it said to allow 10 days...even though VISA themselves say it should take a maximum of 3!! Well, over 10 days later and still no refund! I've just sent another email, this time suggesting that I'll initiate either a VISA chargeback or a County Court claim for recovery!

My credit card company have confirmed that no refund has been processed and nothing is pending either!!

Needless to say I am awaiting a response and would suggest that others avoid this company unless you want to be let down!

Very disappointed customer

I ordered my products online on 19th April and I received an email the same day confirming my order but with no mention of despatch date. The payment was taken from my account and I eagerly awaited my delivery. After hearing nothing from them by the 25th I emailed them to ask if it had been despatched yet. I did receive an email back saying that it would be despatched the following day and I would receive it within 2-3 days. I again, eagerly awaited my delivery!! On 1st May I emailed them as I had still not received my products. No reply. Today, 2nd May I telephoned them on their premium rate number, it rang for a while, no one answered and it was cut off, Not amused !! I telephoned the number again, a girl answered and told me that they were awaiting my goods to come into them, and it SHOULD BE tomorrow and then it would be sent out to me. Another annoying thing about it all is that all they say is 'sorry' without empathy, just a word to them.
I have demanded my money back. APPAULING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I certainly will never recommend this company or use them again.

Useless stock indication, useless customer service, just useless.

Having ordered a product that was stated as usually delivered within 2 days, after five days I emailed to check that my order was ok, but heard nothing so a further two days later I rang to find out what was going on with my order as I hadn't had any email to let me know if there were any delays. When I spoke to the lady on the phone she wasn't really bothered about solving my problem, she just said it isn't our fault, the supplier doesn't know when they are going to dispatch it. Following this she said it could come in the delivery tomorrow or it could come in next weeks. All the time on the website, it still says dispatched in two days. Which we now know is impossible as they don't even know when they are going to be getting it. A week later I call again, still no emails to give me the courtesy of letting me know what is going on, still saying dispatched in 2 days on their site, again they still don't know when the delivery is coming in.

No money off vouchers, no emails to apologise for the situation, just a useless and hollow apology, they may as well be saying we just don't care, we've got your money we'll deal with your order when we get around to it.

As well as all this, the Only contact phone number is a premium rate number so you have to pay for the privilege of tracking down your order.

Don't be drawn in by the lower prices, it cost me extra in 2 weeks extra storage for my fish, calling the premium rate and time out of my work day, so all in all it's not cheaper or easier. I will not be using them again and would advise that you don't either if you want a good service.

Awful customer service

I paid extra for priority delivery of a buster collar for my dog. The item had still not been dispatched 5 days later and Seapets just ignored my emails asking what was going on. Asked for a full refund but still haven't received this. BUYER BEWARE.

First class company offering first class service.

I've ordered three fish tanks from seapets in the last year and have found them very fast, efficient and professional. Within minutes of ordering one I got a email detailing all my order requirements and within a matter of days I got a phone call from pelletways (courier) arranging a delivery date. The courier company was very friendly and helpful and carried my aquarium into my ground floor flat without a moments hesitation. I have no problem recommending this company.

Overall very happy with seapets, just one small let down with the courier used for my new aquarium

I have used seapets for a couple of years for my aquarium related purchases, I can always get what I need as there is a good range of products, and well priced compared to other places I can get the same items. Also seapets are on the topcashback website, so I always get some cash back, and I can collect seapets points!

I like that they use Royal Mail for the smaller items as its so much easier for me to retrieve my package when I'm not in for delivery, I hate companies that use couriers who will only deliver when I'm at work, and make me drive miles to collect the package. They always package the items well too.

I've exchanged emails about returning items before, and about my recent large purchase and have found I had good customer service and quick replies.

I've been happy with all the products I have purchased.

The only reason I have knocked one star off the score is because I recently purchased a new aquarium and various accessories, as this was a big package it obviously needed to be sent by courier, which im afraid i believe the company they used were dreadful, I took the day off work to be in to collect the delivery which I'm fine with, however when the driver turns up, he dumped the very large heavy tank on a large wooden pallet on my door step, got me to sign for it, with me thinking they would then help me get the package in and they can take their pallet away, but as soon as I signed the guy literally ran into his van and drove off, leaving me to wonder how the hell I get this tank into my house on my own, I had to leave it outside for a few hours until a mate could come and help, and the pallet is now in my back garden, I'm going to have to hire a van or something to take it down the dump. Not impressed, but as its not seapets that deliver its not really their fault, just a poor choice of courier service on their behalf.

Very happy with my new tank though, and will continue to shop with seapets.

Good value and fast delivery

I ordered my Fluval Roma aquarium from Seapets and was really impressed with the fast delivery and how cheap it was.
I have also ordered other bits for my aquarium from them. No problems.

Great Speedy Service

I searched through a lot of websites, to find my first aquarium, and found Seapets to have a large selection and good pricing, I ended up buying the Juwel Rio 240, with them, and it came pretty quick, in perfect condition, with lots of free extras, I would hightly recommend them, to anyone, great service, thanks a lot Seapets!!!

Appalling customer service - please, please don't use this company!

I have had two terrible experiences with Seapets, I should have learned my lesson after the first, but I have learned now and will never order from them again!
The first time I ordered a load of dog food and was waiting over a week for my order to arrive. When I called to see where it was I was told some of the items (dentastix) were out of stock and I may have to wait several weeks until they arrived, so I opted for a refund on those. I wonder how long they would have kept me waiting before they called or emailed to tell me that. Like a fool I tried again, the next time some dog food and a car seat cover. It's been a week and I called today - the car seat cover is not in stock, but if I cancel it then my order will be below the threshold for free delivery so they will have to charge me! Basically they are fining me for their incompetence. I tried to reason with them on the phone and was very polite and kept my cool, but they were very terse. How are they still in business? I'm appalled and will never use this company again - please, please avoid at all costs! Who knows when my order will arrive, wish I'd not given them a second chance. It's such a shame because all they need to do is be polite and reasonable and people would go back, but they must lose so much money by being horrible to people - I just don't understand it.

I make a monthly order of dog food from seapets. They always have what we need in stock and delivery is fast and efficient. Never had need to complain and have been a customer for 7 months. Pricing is very competitive. Will continue to use seapets in the future.

No complaints here!

I order my cat food, the Bozita range from Seapeats and I have always found the delivery to be perfectly reasonable (compared with delievery times from other sites). All my cat food has a years validity left (longer than I have stocked in the cupboard). My cats love Bozita as it is about 90% meat and I have found Seapets to be the cheapest stockiest. I have placed 6 orders now with Seapets (spaning 18 months) and I cannot complain about the product received and the delivery times. I will continue to use Seapets for my cat food orders, and I would happyily recommend this website to my friends.

Great customer service

I bought a leopard gecko set-up. Some items where missing from my order and the terrarium had a crack on one of the doors. When I rang I spoke to a very helpful and very professional customer service staff called "Alyson". Sure enough I was promptly sent the missing item and a terrarium replacement. All I can say about my experience with seapets is that, I wish all companies operated in the same way and employed people like "Alyson".

I have been getting Skinners dog food through Seapets for some time now and can really recommend the service, delivery is always on time and have never had any issues!

I've been ordering dog food from Seapets for nearly 2 years, and the service is excellent. They recently changed courier and now my order is delivered within 48 hours - I used to have to guess when it would arrive and plan ahead so as not to run out. Free delivery for a minimum spend, and no heaving bags in and out of the car.

I have used Seapets to order dog food on line for at least two years now. The prices are good and the delivery service is excellent. Website is easy to navigate. on the one occasion something was out of stock, I was kept informed about availability.

Check your item is instock first !!!!!

A disappointing first and last time experience with Seapets……… Funny enough as per the other negative review’s, “Yes” my item was out of stock (usaully shipped in 1 day) on the website ) and “Yes” I clicked express delivery, when really all “Yes” seems to mean is we will charge you £2.95 to process your order first over the other none express delivery items, there is no change in the way it is actually delivered….slightly misleading.

If you are going to use them, just check the product is in stock……… and I hope you’re experience with them on the phone was better than mine.

Really impressed with service

I ordered a new Vivarium for my tree frogs on Tuesday, it arrived yesterday!!! Very impressed with the service. I ordered the viv on the phone, the lady who took my order was helpful, friendly and polite.
Will I buy from Seapets in the future? It's a no brainer, of course I will.

I'm not happy here, I ordered something 23rd Feb and its now 4th March, haven't even received my product.

I don't know how the hell to check my order.

Not only that, the delivery on the FAQs says 2.95 but when I came to check out it said 4.95!!

just the same as everyone elses complaints, order a product on the 25th february paid for priority deliver been waiting a week phoned them they dont have the item in stock till the 13th march then they said it would be a further 5days after that, currently awaiting a refund, which could between 10 and 15 days, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dreadful service, untrustworthy

Bought cat & dog food from seapets because of price. Cat food bought in early Feb but date on products was Dec 2012 and Jan 2012. I did not notice this til several days after using and wondering why my cat wouldn't eat it! Contacted company for refund or replacement. They have refused either because I put the pouches in the bin after discovering they were out of date. I did this because of the risk of contaminated food in my house and rubbish collection was due. I still have the boxes they came in but that is apparently not good enough. Do NOT use this company.

sold cage without extras

bought a rotastak cage that my son had saved up for ,he wanted the creepy castle after researching all the cages in the range,after seeing it at another online store but it being out of stock,i found seapets,the cage arrived minus have the cage and the stickers that were supposed to come with it,after emailing seapets about missing items and stickers the replied with 'they dont sell the cage with the stickers or extras,which is rediculous, i asked if i could return the cage in that case as could get the whole lot with 'the extra part' as they put it for the same price elsewhere,i was told i could do but would have to wait in all day for someone to collect it and it would cost 5 pounds,as i work i wasnt going to sit around for a full day and pay 5 quid to return something that wasnt right in the first place,just shows it sometimes works out cheaper to go to a store where you can see what your getting,wont be using seapets again,and beware if you doyour actually getting what your paying for!!

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE

I ordered over £100 worth of goods from Seapets and paid an extra £2.95 for a so called Priority Express delivery. I ordered on a Thursday, phoned them on a Wednesday to find out what was happening and they informed me it was being despatched that day and I would recieve the following day. No goods arrived so I called again and they said it would be despatched today so I asked if I could be refunded my £2.95 as it was hardly a priority or express delivery. They informed me that if they refunded the £2.95 then my items would not be despatched until the next day as it would not be under there Priority service, I tried to explain that I had placed the order exactly a week ago, so regardless if I paid the £2.95 or not my order should have been a priority over new orders anyway but they wouldn't agree. So I told them to refund the £100 I had spent. The lady on the phone had a disgusting telephone manner and was very rude, she said she was a manager. There are complaints all over the internet about there delivery services. Some people waiting well over 2 weeks for delivery.

Terrible fish care

Bought fish from Seapets.. get home... take a quick look and they have white spots on them, one tetra appears to have an open wound on it too. All fish died within four days. Utterly atrocious.

Will never buy fish from Seapets again, they should be ashamed for selling such fish to start with. Not only is it a breach of consumer laws to do so (fish that are ill and die almost immediately are hardly goods of serviceable quality) but it's very cruel on the fish. You wouldn't treat a hamster having it extremely ill let alone selling it so why on earth is it considered acceptable to treat fish that way let alone a supposedly specialist fish shop.

I've bought hundreds of pounds worth of equipment from there in the past and will never do so again.

Quite simply, absolutely disgusting!! AVOID

On Tuesday (4 Dec 12) I purchased 2 balloon mollies, 2 guppys and 2 blue dwarf gourami... to be honest this was completely against my own better judgement of purchasing fish from there, something i vowed never to do. The condition their fish are in is appauling. There are more dead fish than living in their tanks. An angel fish died while I was in there store just the other week.
As i already owned 1 male balloon molly i asked for 2 females to keep him company... got home and realised i'd been sold 1 male and 1 female! So now my female is outnumbered. By Wednesday 1 guppy had died. By Thursday the 1 female balloon started flashing. By Thursday night my blue gourami had also died. The male balloon they sold me has a split in is rear fin. Today he has shown signs of flashing.
As there is currently no obvious sign of white spot or visible parasite I am treating the entire tank with an anti bacterial treatment. Thanks to their poor care (and yes to some degree my own fault for not checking) my entire tank and fish that were already in the tank are now at risk. I've been unable to get back up to the store to complain and not been able to get through on the phone. I left a comment on their facebook site to find today that it's been removed and I have been prevented from writing on their wall!! I think that says enough. At no point did they contact me to discuss what I have written.
My husband is now urging me to report this place and I will definitely be speaking to someone about it.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!

very bad

it all started when i made the order and didn't get a confirmation email.i waited 2 days and phoned them.i was told they had problems with the site and told me the item wasn't in stock and would be sent out in 5 days on tuesday (today).so i phone up to see if everything is ok and if the item is being dispatched and get told it will be another 7 days.
i could put it down to bad luck till i checked them out on this site and found many more with the same problems.i have asked for my money back and hope this runs smoother than the order for a protein skimmer im desperate for.i dont know how a business like this managed to survive the recession.
never had such a bad online shopping experience.

Misleading Information

For most of us "Priority Express Delivery" means that the delivery would be given prority and be an express delivery, well that is not what it means to Seapets. To them it means "we will take your money and deliver when we feel like it". That is what it should say on their checkout basket. I ordered on Wednesday, paid the extra for the "Express" service, phoned on Friday asking where my product was and was told it would take 7 days. I have reported the issue to trading standards for the misleading way they get money out of us. I have asked for a refund, doubt it will be any quicker. BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY.

Avoid at all cost

Just placed an order 5 days ago and by the end of the week I have decided to give them a call to trace my package.

As the lady told me it might take a month for the delivery as they do not stock some of the items. When I asked why this information is not on the website - I've been told that there is a plan to do so.

They charged my card before delivery has been sent and there was no info about any ETA so I have cancelled my order. Now hopefully they will pay my money back...

Avoid at all cost unless you want to wait for months to receive your items.

Very long wait for some very rotten plants

I placed an order for 2 of Tropica 1-2-Grow! gel pot plants and 1 order of normal plants on 4 Aug. By 10 Aug, I still had not heard from them so I sent them an email and only got a reply on 13 Aug saying they will be posting it soon. 9 days to be posting it soon? Not very good start is it?

Soon after, I got a email stating that it had been sent and I should be able to track it the next working day. However no tracking number and the package only arrived on 16 Aug.

Now I must state that I am in Shetland, the north most island ground in the UK. Seapets made me pay an extra £9.95 to ship goods here. I paid that, and it still takes 4 days to get here? Why? Because Seapets uses UK Mail, not Royal Mail. Royal Mail Special Delivery WILL get here within 24 hours and First Class will get here usually in 1 day, and 2 at the max. And Royal Mail do not cost extra to post to Shetland! However Seapets decided to use some cheap rubbish company that charges me extra and still takes 4 days for the goods to arrive.

Now, usually I can put up with a bit of a wait since I am in Shetland after all, but since my order include live plants, this is clearly unacceptable. When my order arrived 12 days after my order, I opened it to find some very dry looking Cardamine lyrata and some very rotten and soggy looking Staurogyne Repens and Nymphoides Taiwan (search for 1-2-Grow! to know what are these gel pot plants). I thought I will plant them anyway, hoping some bits are still alive enough to grow. Now 2 weeks after planting, my tank is full of BBA, I tested my water to find that my Nitrite and Nitrate are both off the charts! I quickly do a water change and removed as much of the rotten gel plants as possible. None had grown and caused my water chemistry to go crazy.

I emailed them again complaining that I ordered LIVE plants, not dry or rotting plants, and guess what? No reply from them! So I emailed Tropica telling them about this dealer in their goods giving them a bad name. Hopefully they can do something about it.

Only order from them if you like dry and rotten plants, or if you are not ordering plants, then prepared for a very long wait.

Fancy an awful shopping experience?

Before placing an order with Seapets, ask yourself the question, 'Do I want to be continually messed around, ignored and let down'? If the answer is 'Yes' then place your order.
When I placed my order, I was unaware of this companys ineffectiveness, and I suppose it's my fault for not realising that 'In stock' actually meant that I had to wait up to 7 working days for the items to be delivered to their warehouse.
I wouldn't have even known this if I hadn't emailed them several times. And so I agreed that they would ship out the few items they had, that day, and once again I was wrong in presuming next day meant the next day, and not when they felt like dispatching.
So after ignoring a further 3 emails I decided to cancel, and use an online retailer that actually wanted to retain customers.

items never instock

i normally wouldnt give seapets such a low rating but ive had so much bother with them the past few times ive bought stuff off them. at the beginning of the year i bought some new lights for my fish tank, they were stated as 'instock' on the website so i went ahead and bought them. a few weeks later i still hadnt recieved my order so i emailed them. they responded saying they were not instock and would be arriving from the suppliers in the next 7-10 days.

on the 17th june i placed an order for 1 airpump and 2 18" bubble walls, both stating they were instock. i sent them an email the other day asking when i could expect my order to be posted as they are normally quite quick at posting things. i recieved a reply today stating my bubble walls i had ordered were not instock and they would be arriving from the supplier in the next 7-10 days.

now if i ever decide to buy off them again in the future (which i may have to) i will be emailing them and asking them if they have the item i want instock before i buy it

Some companies never could deliver on their promises.

This company to my experience never has anything in stock. I have only made three orders since finding this company last September. And only one of them actually came through for me!

The first order they did not have the plants I ordered. I was offered the option to substitute or wait on for weeks until they order the stock. Being a bit impatient I went with the substitutions.

Second order; this was my Christmas present, even though the website says they have the product I get an email saying they do not have and the manufacture has discontinued the product, but I was asked if I’d like to substitute. Fluval Spec Desk Aquarium Kit that would only cost me £29.95 and I was asked if I would like to change it to one that is far for expensive and pointless.

After forgiving them for screwing up my Christmas I gave them another chance and ordered an aquarium heater on a late Monday with priority express delivery. Again, after sending an email to query the status of the order which should have been with me on the Friday the same week with priority express delivery I was told they do not have the item in question even though they have for sale online with a green tick for stock! Hence, I asked to cancel the order and requested a refund. My transaction this instance was completed by PayPal, therefore for a refund they do not have to wait for a working day as the order was cancelled on Friday at 1345 pm. At this time I have opened a PayPal dispute for not receiving the refund.

I would say avoid the online company if you can, or ring in advance and find out if they have it in stock, which completely fails the point of buying something online. They do have a physical store and they are the cheapest, that is if they really do have them in stock!

Dreadful customer service-Please avoid.

Unfortunately I had to give Seapets 1 star as it wouldn't allow me to give no stars. I contacted Seapets by e-mail a week ago as I'd been told they did a price match & wanted to order an aquarium to be delivered this week as I had a week off work-no response. I phoned at least 15 times but got no answer so left a message on their answerphone, nobody called me back. I phoned the actual store to be told they couldnt deal with it & that this always happens as there is only 1 person working on the internet sales. I received an e-mail about 5 days later saying they were waiting for a manager to make a decision. I explained I needed it this week so asked them to chase it up but again got no response. I've had to constantly chase them up just to get an answer to a very simple question-eventually they came back with a price that wasn't a price match but I needed an aquarium urgently so tried to order. I was then told that although it says 'In stock' on their website, it doesn't actually meant it is in stock & that they wouldn't have any in for another week-I'd already made it very clear that I needed it urgently.
Do yourself a favour & avoid this company, even if it means paying a little extra- you'll be glad you did in the long run.

Great company

I have used this company a couple of times to order dog food. Takes about a week for the delivery to arrive so be aware of this. Apart from that everything is great and i would recommend to everyone and will be using every month going forward.
