It's only because everyone is so glowingly positive about Sharps that I'm hanging on in there. I can't believe I'm the only customer to have such a terrible experience!
My original fitting date was 28 October 2013 - I'm writing this 5 weeks later, with a pile of replacement parts piled up in the bedroom after being let down by Sharps again. I would be happier now if they would just take everything away and give me back my money.
It's interesting to note that although I filled in their 'customer satisfaction form' and gave permission for it to be used on their website, that more recent positive reviews have now appeared, but not mine!
Efficient and professional service from start to finish. Quality of fitted wardrobes excellent and the fitting service was carried out by a qualified and knowledgeable joiner.
My box room has been transformed and is now a walk-in dressing room with plenty hanging space and storage plus a custom made set of drawers and matching mirror. I am very pleased with the end result and I would not hesitate to recommend Sharps to anyone. I would definitely use Sharps again without a doubt. (David McIlroy)
From the first phone call arranging the initial appointment to the finished job only three weeks later, we received excellent service - communication was outstanding as well as the finished articles - 2 sets of wardrobes in our loft conversion. The units fit perfectly into the sloping roof and look so good. We are delighted.
We received excellent service from start to finish when ordering wardrobes & cupboards from Sharps bedrooms. It was hassle free from the time we booked the appointment with the designer, until the work was completed. The wardrobes and cupboards gave us the extra storage space we required and matched the existing wardrobes exactly, our installer Dave was brilliant, everything was just what we wanted. We will be recommending Sharps Bedrooms to our friends and family
We had sharps design our wardrobes for a loft conversion which had all different wall and celling heights. They have given us much more space than we could of hoped for and look very nice as well . The only negative was the person that came and fitted the wardrobes did not tidy up after himself and there was a lot of trips to the dump to get rid of the rubbish.
I have several experiences with sharps and all positive in terms of quality of product, skill of carpenter installing and leadtime to get the work done.
Sharps is not the cheapest in the market, but they sell you an end to end service for a piece of mind
we are so pleased with our new wardrobes. the process was made easy from start to finish. the people were professional and friendly. we woould definitely use them again. they are slightly expenisve, but we are pleased with the outcome.
We had a storage problem in our house and the designer came up with a solution which we had not even considered. The whole Sharps experience ran very smoothly and all staff we came into contact with were very professional and organised. Our wardrobes are of an excellent quality, albeit a little pricey, and would recommend.

We had a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe fitted across the entire width of our second bedroom to maximize storage space. The designer was good at listening to my requirements and coming uo with a good design. The fitter did an amazing job and managed to complete in one day.
After recently moving home and having to leave behind the built in wardrobes that I had built for me we found using the cheap fabric wardrobes a pain.
My wife first spoke to a Sharps rep' at The Bath & West show and arranged for him to call and to design new wardrobes for our main bedroom and cupboards in my study at our new home.
Their sales rep arrived, listened to our requirements, measured the rooms and left us with a sketch of his proposals and a quotation of both jobs individually.
On our acceptance a date for the surveyor, making, delivery and installation was agreed.
The surveyor called and measured every single nook and cranny we had in the rooms, but obviously a professional at work from the fine detail on his drawings.
About a month later the delivery was due on the Friday morning with the fitter(s) starting on the following Monday. To make sure someone was at home for the delivery my wife took the morning off work.
At 12.00 mid-day I received a call from my wife saying nothing had arrived and she had phoned Sharps office, to no avail.
"We will look into it and phone you straight back" said the office lady.
At 1.30 pm I received another call from my wife telling me that nothing had been delivered and she had had no reply from the office and had phoned them back but could not get through and she had to attend a meeting at 2.30 pm and I would have to come home to take the delivery. Not part of my planned schedule for the day.
I got home at 2.00 pm and waited and phoned, and waited and phoned, and waited. By now I was really concerned because nobody knew what had happened to the delivery lorry! How do you lose a 4 ton delivery vehicle?
By 5.00 pm every thought had crossed my mind with my last thought being "How do I get my money back as they haven't made it"
At 5.15 I phoned the rep and left a message for him to call me asap. When he did phone me, about 6.00 pm, he told me there was no one in the office now!!! and that he would come back to me tomorrow if he can get an answer or asap if not.
That evening my wife and I discussed for hours, with very pessimistic views, what we had to do next.
The next morning, still feeling let down, at 8.30 am the phone rang with the voice of a young man telling me that he had a delivery for me and he would be with me in half an hour.
By the time I had explained the call to my wife a large lorry pulled up in front of my driveway, three men got out and you could see they all had their own task.
When the driver came in to introduce himself I questioned him with, "What happened yesterday?
Without hesitation he informed me that the lorry had broken down with a full load on board and it had now been repaired or replaced and they were therefore delivering today.
What a relief, the last 24 hours had been too hell and back with how I was going to get my money back.
Those lads deserve a mention as they were true grafters with-in an hour they had everything stacked in its correct bundle, sign here please and were gone.
Monday came and at 7.50 am so did the fitter. He introduced himself was very polite and a good worker. So far so good.
I had a call that afternoon from the rep telling me that the lorry had broken down but they would get it to me asap!!
When I got home from work Monday evening the fitter was still there packing up.
He had started on the bedroom and it was really taking shape.
Buy Wednesday evening he had finished and it all looked fantastic in both the bedroom and the study. My wife and I were really pleased with the finished product.
But, my main question to the management is;" Why in this world of modern technology is there such a lack of correspondence between staff.
Yes, Hey ho, it all turned out OK in the end but when someone has invested thousands of pounds into a company who don't turn-up, it really brings out a cautionary message when recommending to others.
Sharps overall offers a great service - they meet a need for good fitted storage. Their price was reasonable, and their sales rep was excellent. We were happy with the design he drew for us. Our space was challenging; it was in a sloped loft space, so presented more of a challenge, and this is where it got complicated. The surveyor was pleasant and did his job. But there was no actual conversation that took place in advance between the surveyor and carpenter, and when the carpenter arrived, he balked at the unusual job, and stated he wasn't able to produce exactly what was drawn. He said he didn't have the materials needed - yet when the job was done, we had enough excess MDF to build two more wardrobes. Ultimately, we are happy with the finished product, although it wasn't what was originally drawn, and Sharps refunded money for all the excess MDF that now fills our garage without hesitation. Would I use them again? Yes. Overall, their customer service is good, but the sales rep, surveyor and carpenter really ought to communicate directly, especially when certain projects aren't bog standard.
We had what would appear to be a very straight forward set of fitted wardrobes either side of a chimney breast along with bed side units and a chest of drawers.
When the surveyor came to measure up properly he spent a lot of time explaining to me that the range we'd chosen couldn't have the doors cut down due to the decoration and as a result would cause some access limitations to my top cupboard. He then went through all the ranges that could be cut down to size and I was able to chose an alternative that would give me proper access to my cupboards. I was pleased that he explained all this to me as he could have easily just gone ahead and ordered the original units that we would then have been unhappy with.
When the delivery guys turned up we were running a bit behind and still painting the room. They kindly stacked all the pieces in the middle of the room carefully and in as compact a manner as possible so that we could still move around the room and finish the painting.
The fitter had a bit of a nightmare job on his hands, as our room looks very standard but we have a 1930s house which means none of the walls are straight or standard measures. He had a tricky job to cut and fit the units but did so in quick time finishing slightly early too.
Because we had changed the units there was a slight difference in price and due to the original sales chap not confirming the agreed discount with HQ we were over charged. My husband phoned and the matter was resolved without any fuss and the overpayment reimbursed within a couple of days.
This is why I would recommend sharps, they are a big company that don't make a fuss, they get things sorted and genuinely seem to want to help the customer. This is the second bedroom I have used Sharps for, I previously used them in my last property too.
Sharps installed a bespoke bedroom for us and we are very pleased with the quality. They were very helpful with accommodating us with our complicated time schedule as we had to do quite a bit of building work before we could actually install. Everything was provided on time and with no fuss. Our only niggle is with the fact that we wanted an additional item, which we purchased at a later date and despite being told it was available in a certain wood finish, we were told later that it wasn't which has delayed getting the item. The sales assistant was trying to be extremely helpful but no one at the main office was able to confirm what wood finishes were available. We have had to make extra visits to the show room and more phone calls to the factory have finally (we hope) resolved the problem. Suggest that Sharps alter their brochure to include the actual colours available! Other than this, we would definitely recommend Sharps for a quality service!
We found Sharpes design and fitting service to be good value for money. We had one or two problems with the design and these were worked around to our satisfaction. The efficiency of the fitting service was excellent – We happily recommend Sharps.
From visiting the showroom to the fitting we had excellent service, the fitted wardrobes are perfect with ample storage space looking good at the same time. Not quite knowing what we wanted we had plenty of help in the design and planning we are very satisfied customers
We had a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe fitted across the entire width of our bedroom to maximize storage space. The designer was really good. We couldn't be happier with the service that was provided from the surveyor and the fitter. They were fantastic and consulted us at all stages. Everyone was friendly throughout the process and we would use them again.
We were very pleased with our new bedroom from Sharps. They were competitively priced and the designer seemed to understand just what we wanted and was very flexible and imaginative. The joiner was friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job, leaving the room clean and tidy. We are more than happy with the service and products we received. Everything they promised, they did!
This is the 5th bedroom we have had in a variety of houses over the last couple of years and have always found that the service has been great and the quality of the product is always spot on. The designers try to incorporate any ideas you have but have loads themselves. Highly recommended.
It's been a great experience to become a Sharps Bedrooms client = they have been very quick with our order (I was 8 months pregnant at the time!) and very helpful! Would do business with them anytime!
My brother had used sharps and it was good, so decided to call them. Wanted to maximise the space we had. Good designer who listened to what we wanted, although he said we could have things that we couldn't according to the surveyor. Same thing again with the fitter and there seemed to be a lot of wasted materials which we had paid for. The fitter seemed very keen to finish the job and get away early. However all that said, the finished bedroom is lovely and all I had hoped for. And my husband called the help line a number of times and they were always very helpful and called back when the said they would.
I had fitted cupboards covering one whole wall of my main bedroom. The designer was very good and I have certainly got what I wanted. I also had cupboards on either side of the bed. The fitter was excellent, worked hard, tidied up after himself and helped me solve a problem caused by the surveyor not noticing that one cupboard would not fit under the window-sill. After a discussion with the fitter a happy compromise was reached and at the moment I am very pleased with the result. I also have the satisfaction of knowing that if something does go wrong, Sharps will put it right.
Overall I am happy with the product and the staff are excellent. However, I called the customer service department regularly leading up to the fitting date. I wanted to clarify something which the surveyor had instructed and the team promised that he would call me. Guess what? Never heard back from him. This meant that I had to call out an electrician to reinstall something which had been removed on the instruction of the surveyor. Out of pocket by £100 and despite having given feedback to Sharps, no response from them about this either. Just a bit irritating - and unnecessary
We had a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe fitted across the entire width of our bedroom (as the designer stated - "It is a massive bit of furniture!"). We couldn't be happier with the service that was provided from the surveyor and the builder. They were fantastic and consulted us with any small changes that had to be made from the designer's original plans. Everyone was friendly throughout the process and we would use them again.
We had 2 small compact bedrooms designed and fitted by the experts. We could not be happier. Great looking and maximising the space. Our designer was a genius, advising us what we should have, as we had no idea. Thank you Sharp and we will be using you again
All good from start to finish - only slight negative was the tedious "extra discount" scenario that we put to bed during the designers visit. Why don't these companies just quote the right price first time?
Anyway, everything arrived on schedule, the fitter turned up and the product is good. Quite expensive for what is basically just a MDF shell with some doors but I couldn't do it myself so that's that. We're happy with the experience and would use again. The whole operation is very slick and painless.
From the initial contact through to the finished installation Sharps gave an excellent service. We now have a fully fitted dressing room which ,when seen for the first time ,almost always evokes a "wow" reaction from the viewer! When the fitter realised a mirror had been omitted from the order he contacted Sharps who rearranged delivery and two days later he returned to fit it . A great service all round.
I have had Sharp bedrooms fitted in various properties over the past 10 years , a total of 8 bedrooms. This time , I found the service sadly wanting. The sales chap ( Dave ) we live in Nottingham, promised us a mirror as an extra, just as good will, as for a dressing table, two side cabinets and two sets of drawers, cost us £3800.00 very expensive, but of course we had to choose the most expensive range????? Really ???? Anyway 6 weeks after fitting, five texts and calls to Dave, no mirror. I then thought, ok give the customer service dept a ring, 6 calls later, promising to return my calls on at least 3 occasions , nothing happening. I will continue to ring every day, on every hour if I have to. We are absolutely disgusted, Sharps have had probably between 15K and 25K off us over the years, Never Again.
I used sharps bedroom to build my built in wardrobe. I have been unhappy from the beginning to the end.
First off, their professionalism is atrocious, absolutely atrocious. My closet was due for delivery on Monday but in the end, it didn't happen. Delay delay is what this company is about. Thus, it got moved to the following Monday and fitted on Tuesday.
Prior to this, you will get about 10,000 phone calls from sharps telling you the same information over and over again fitting dates, installation dates Yada Yada Yada. It is just SO wonderful to hear their voices.
Another thing, when my closet was finished, a lot of extra pieces of wood was left in my apartment and around my apartment I might add. The guy who completed the closet told me that he would arrange everything.
It has been two days and nothing.
I have called customer service but they told me I have to arrange parking and etc. to be honest, I'm better off doing it myself. When I was explaining myself, she hung up on me not once but twice.
Sharps bedroom builds mediocre closets for a ridiculous price, service is the worst, after service is beyond horrible.
If I could turn back time, I would have chose a different company.
From our first telephone enquiry to the wonderful fitted wardrobe every step was on time. In over 40 years of marriage no-one has managed to come close to the prefect timing and produced the prefect product.
My wife and I cannot speak too highly of Sharps - they will not disappoint.
I had been wanting to renew my bedroom for some time and had received a quote from an online company who wanted to charge me £8000. This figure was a bit more than I wanted to pay and although I felt confident they may drop the price a little I found them far too pushy. I decided to visit my local Sharps Showroom and picked up a brochure. It was reassuring to see at my leisure the actual range and colours available. I soon phoned for a rep to call round at a time to suit me and found him to be not only friendly but patient with all my questions and best of all, not too pushy. He produced an excellent design which concealed an awkward corner while maximising cupboard space. The price was right too, approx £3000 less than previous quote! The delivery of goods arrived when promised and the fitter came a few days later as arranged. I was impressed at how methodical and tidy the fitter was and of course the finished bedroom looked exactly like the original drawing. I am a very happy customer and would be more than happy to recommend Sharps to my friends and family.
We had great planning advice for our fitted bedroom furniture. We found that Sharps were more adaptable to our needs compared to other companies. We ordered the product and delivery/fitting was extremely quick. The delivery guys had to deliver up 3 flights of stairs on a busy road. They were cheerful throughout and never complained.
The fitter was brilliant. He did the work in the timescale and in fact we rarely saw him. He arrived punctually every day and disappeared up to the room and stayed up there all day. There was no mess at all as he tidied everything up at the end. I have never known it be that easy and was very grateful.
There were a couple of slight teething problems after fitting, only minor details. However, the after sales service was equally effective and excellent with follow up calls all of the way.
I am very impressed with the customer service at Sharps and the quality of the product. It is so solid and looks so good in our bedroom
We have used Sharps Bedrooms on a few occasions over the last couple of years. I have been very satisfied with their speed of installation and pride in their work. I have been very happy with the complete service and would recommend highly.
Within less than half an hour of requesting a brochure online I had received a phone call from Sharps and booked in a visit from one of their designers. Mark was on time, very knowledgeable and professional and also responded quickly to my follow up e-mail queries. The surveyor was also good and within a few weeks I had my new study. The fitter was excellent and very conscientious and Sharps phoned me at 9.15 the first morning to check that he had arrived ok. I dont normally post reviews but have been so impressed with Sharps that I thought I should.
Had David from Sharps round to get an idea of price and styles for a 12 year old boys bedroom. David was an excellent salesman, not pushy but very knowledgeable about the product and what would be best for our son.
Within 3 weeks from initial visit our son had his new bedroom. The finish is excellent and the whole product was fantastic. He now has a bedroom that will take him into adulthood.
He loves his bedroom and his friends think its fantastic. We love it so much we have made another appointment to see David again to discuss our bedroom.
Sharps bedrooms might not be the cheapest but boy are they a quality organisation. You get what you pay for and we are very, very pleased with the final product. Thank you Sharps
We are really pleased with Sharps. From the beginning, the rep that visited was friendly and professional and Sharps were flexible with fitting dates etc. Although there was a mix up with first fitter who visited, the Sharps office quickly resolved the problem and sent out a fantastic replacement. Our fitted wardrobes are beautifully made and very robust. A fantastic feature for our bedroom which is an unusual shape and had no storage at all!
