We are really pleased with Sharps. From the beginning, the rep that visited was friendly and professional and Sharps were flexible with fitting dates etc. Although there was a mix up with first fitter who visited, the Sharps office quickly resolved the problem and sent out a fantastic replacement. Our fitted wardrobes are beautifully made and very robust. A fantastic feature for our bedroom which is an unusual shape and had no storage at all!
At last we have wonderful fitted wardrobes... We engaged Sharps Bedrooms to design and fit them, they made a really good job. In fact we had the first job done in April and were so pleased with the result that we had our main bedroom fitted too in July. The designers arrived when they said they would, the wardrobes were delivered when Sharps said they would be, the fitters were professional, and the finished products were of very high quality. l would happily recommend Sharps to anyone. l am delighted with the work, it sounds nerdy but l' m so proud of my bedrooms.
Mrs Judith Williams
This was the third time Sharps fitted a bedroom for us and we were just as pleased this time as on the previous occasions. The materials were delivered when they said they would be and the delivery staff were polite and courteous. The fitter was very good, happy to explain things and got on with the work without fuss. Although you could probably pay less through other companies I'm a big believer that you get what you pay for. With Sharps that's helpful staff, peace of mind and quality furniture.
Very pleased with our new sharps bedroom , 3rd one the company have done. Designer had good ideas how to make best use of space in a small box room. fitter excellent. price i thought fair but a more transparent pricing structure would be useful. Only problem we had was with the office staff - they rang to book installation date ,then someone else rang to book again and said i hadnt already booked one ! Got this sorted and delivery and fit went smoothly.
Our installation of a Sharps bedroom went without a single hitch. From visiting Sharps in our local Homebase we are more than satisfied with the service we have received from all members of the Sharps team. The designer did an excellent job of maximising the space in our bedroom and provided much excellent advice during this stage. The installer worked very hard to get the job done as quickly as possible. There was quite a lot of rubbish left but this seems to be fairly normal practice these days with jobs done around the home. Now some three months after the installation we are more than delighted with the look of our bedroom and the quality is quite outstanding. If we have one complaint it is the way Sharps operate their pricing policy. Our bedroom started off at £10,000 but the final price was more than half! I think a more transparent pricing structure would be to their advantage. Do they always have a 50% sale on! Having said that we do think they provide a very good quallity product for the price.
We were very pleased with our new bedroom from sharps. They were competitively priced and the designer seemed to understand just what we wanted. The joiner was friendly and did a great job, leaing the room clean and tidy. We are more than happy with the service and products we received.
The 4th time of having Sharps bedrooms installed, but must admit the customer service is not as good as it used to be. I'm really happy with the wardrobes etc. and the fitter was really good, but would I use them again.... probably not as I think they are getting too expensive. It's a shame really as the quality is really good.
Recently moved home having to leave behind the wonderful walk in wardrobe that Sharps had previously built for me.
I contacted the company again to design new wardrobes for my bedroom in my new home .I did obtain another quote but their design could not match that of Sharps.
The whole team at Sharps have been extremely helpful.Their fitter Peter was excellent.
The end result is a beautiful set of 7 built in wardrobes that make my bedroom look amazing.
We had arranged a meeting onsite to get all measurements done etc.. We were advised a quote could well be possible on the day or even the next day ( for us, even a week would have been fine!) .. Anyhow, 3 weeks later we ring Sharps again to see what the delay is.. They were as baffled as we were so then passed the designer's (Roland Digby) number for us to call . I telephoned him gave my details and explained how long it's been overdue.. There was no apology whatsoever.. and was very off! He promised the quote would be with us by the next day..When confronted about WHY it's taken so long he put the phone down on me! I then tried to call him again.. When I gave my name he put the phone down for a second time! I tried one last time but this time he switched the phone off! I was absolutely gobsmacked and appalled at this gentlemen's unprofessional behaviour! As a potential customer I have never been treated in this manner in my life! The next day he emailed us the following ...
I thought I would let you know that I have posted your design and quotation this afternoon, the design drawings do not scan very well which is why I have posted them.
I hope you find the designs useful, however in light of yesterday’s events I have asked that you be assigned another designer if you wish to proceed, I will of course pass on my drawings to him/her and give any assistance I can.
The cheek of the man!!!!!!! I would love to have a sparring partner like Roland; knock some sense into this arrogant vile man!
To cut the long story short we haven't even got to the latter stages and yet this guy Roland has made sure he has put us right off Sharps! For us he has destroyed any confidence that we had in Sharps and after reading some of the terrible reviews I'm surprised tv channels are allowing them to advertise to such an extent.. Oh yea by the way to top it all off they sent us a quote for £10,000 .. We're talking about a box room (which we're going to use as our dresser) with wardrobes either side ! the price quoted is Absolutely ridiculous... I have since contacted my skilled carpenter who has priced it up to £2500 and has done a great job so far..! HASSLE FREE!!

I initiated the visits by visiting my local showroom so no cold callers, thank goodness.
Very pleased with courtesy of both sales and surveyor representatives who visited, everything happened when it was supposed to down to a phone call on the day to confirm timings. Some confusion as to how the materials should be stored whilst waiting for the fitter to arrive mine had to stay on the bedroom floor over a weekend which was a little inconvenient. Every thing fitted in one day to a very good standard. Do I have a moan well you are left with an awful lot of rubbish to get rid of, not always convenient.
Suggest you give all interior surfaces and drawers a good wipe over with a damp cloth before filling up the wardrobe again, it can be dusty.
Was kept informed well at every stage. It's a Shane Sharps don't put a price on there furniture. The Sales guy starts at a ridiculous price and with negotiations finally get to a figure your happy to pay. Delivery guys had dust sheets which I was very impressed with as we'd recently had new carpet in the hall. Fitter was very professional and cleared up after himself. Just a little disappointed Sharps didn't dispose of the rubbish which was left from packaging etc. overall really pleased by the finished result.
From initial consultation to finished product the Sharps team were 100% professional ,from in store saleslady, design agent, conveyer and fitter each appointment was kept to the exact day and time and the estimate including a discount from the agent in the 'Homebase' store was strictly adhered to
I knew what I wanted but the designer added a few more ideas to make the most storage room out of the space
The run of wardrobes I chose were not the easiest of tasks as my bedroom is a cottage with slanting ceilings but the fitter made a superb job and worked non stop to get the work finished in 1 day
Sharps are perhaps not the cheapest bedroom fitters you could find but if you want a brilliant job thats built to last they will be the best.
I found Sharps great to deal with.
They kept their appointments and customer service followed up with me at all stages of my cupboard installation. I would recommend them to anyone considering getting built in cupboards.
We have recently had a fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets from Sharps. I'm pleased with the quality of the furniture and the fitter was polite and efficient. Can't say we experienced any problems with the ordering or actual fitting of the bedroom furnishings. Price was comparable with other quotes I obtained and the sales representative wasn't overly pushy. The only minor downside of the process was I had to dispose of the waste not something I expected considering the cost of fitted bedrooms.
After paying almost £6,000 for a bedroom, the service I received was very disappointing. The dates were changed with excuses that were lies and I was messed about, which meant I had to cancel and change my days off and cancel my carpet fitters and that left me with no carpets for an extra week until they could be fitted. The bedroom fitter was the only good thing about the service, he was very nice and helpful and just got on with the job in hand. The rubbish collection is not very welll organised we had to take it all to the tip or it would have stayed outside our apartment in our neighbours way over night. They didn't offer me a foot stool for my dressing table I had to order it after at an extra cost of double any other store I had looked at for one, it took months to arrive and was the wrong colour stool and fabric. I had to take photographs to prove this fact, lots of phone calls and a waste of my valuable time, with no compensation. They then realised I was telling the truth and made me another one. It was 6 months from start to finsh to get my £6,000 bedroom as I wanted it. I will not recommend Sharps to friends as I think they need better organisation and attention to detail. The Director should go on Undercover Boss!
Our recently installed bedroom was well designed and competitively priced. Delivery and installation were trouble free with Sharps calling on a couple of occassions to confirm that all was going according to plan.
Actual fitting was extremely good, the fitter being an excellent craftsman.
The only small niggle was that I had was that the fitter did not take away the left over materials (although he cleaned up properly). Not really a problem for me but it could have been an issue for someone less mobile.
The ordering, supply and fitting of my bedroom went without hitch except for two things. 1 The bedboard planned had to be changed once the surveyer came, but this is fine now
2 I had not realised the company did not take away all the packaging and off cuts of wood. Quite an undertaking for an elderly lady.
I was impressed with every stage of the process with Sharps, from the initial consultation right through to the tidy-up at the end of the fitting. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional and although they took time to discuss my needs, the processes weren't drawn out. I love the streamlined, stylish fitted cream wardrobes, which actually make my room feel bigger and airier that the free-standing furniture I had before. I have lots more useful space. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sharps.
We had our bedroom fitted by Sharps a few months ago. We were so impressed with the service from start to finish. The representative who visited our home listened to what we wanted and designed exactly to our requirements. The fitter was friendly and not at all intrusive. We are certainly very happy with our Sharp Bedroom
We were unsure at first if we could trust any firm to install our fitted wardrobes to our exacting standards, however a friend told us how pleased she was with Sharps and so we decided to get the designer in. We also got quotes and designs from other companies but Sharps impressed us the most so we gave them our order. The finished product is exactly as we wanted and Sharps did everything they said they would. The service throughout was brilliant, with courteous and professional office staff and "on site"staff. They kept to deadlines, delivered and installed on the dates they set and dealt with a very minor issue of the full length mirror being on the wrong door very quickly and to our satisfaction after the installation was complete. The wardrobes look fantastic. We would thoroughly recommend Sharps to anyone.
From the initial visit to the fitting of the bedroom wardrobe , everything went to plan . We had a small problem , but this was resolved & corrected , although it took slightly longer than I expected from a well renowned company such as Sharps.
Overall , I would recommend them , particularly when they have their half-price sales .
Over the last twelve months we have used Sharps for all three bedrooms the last one including an office space. We have been very pleased with all the fitments. The whole experience from arranging the designer appointment, surveyor calling, delivery and fitting was excellent.
Sharps are expensive but the quality is good and the finished product fits your individual space and looks good. There is always a half price offer every week but each week there is also an additional promotion which can help with your choice.
When the designer calls he gives a price but you only get to see the original prices on his copy of the quote. The prices are not advertised anywhere for you to make your own estimate of cost. However all the prices quoted to us were around about what we expected and in the first instance was a lot lower than thought because we had been advised by friends that they were very expensive.
Delivery was spot on timewise. The delivery men work so hard and are very pleasant. The fitter who did the office space kept us advised all along the way of any problems due to the uneven walls and asked for comments on where to place shelves and handles etc.
On the whole we have been delighted with Sharps and would recommend them to anyone.
We visited Homebase, and saw the Sharps display in store, as we needed a large wardrobe building in one of the bedrooms, we agreed to have the designer visit. The showroom assistant could not give us any idea of prices at all, not even a very rough estimate. (we were thinking £800 - £900 at most)
The designer came (a very nice gentleman) but did seem a little reluctant to give us the price. We had a voucher for a discount, and the wardrobe we chose had 50% off, and we went for finance (on his advice) which gave us a further discount. The price for the one wardrobe was over £2000 which surely would have made it @ £4500 before all the discounts!!!
When the surveyor came he had to change some things the designer had done, but we were still pleased with the design chosen.
The materials were delivered, and because of the size, we had to have them out of one bedroom door, and across the landing slightly into another bedroom.
The handle we chose on the sliding doors was wrong, but in typical British fashion, we decided to accept it as it looked OK.
We had to clear the bedroom ourselves, and make sure the carpet was up.
The fitter arrived on time, and worked very hard, giving us various options for shelf heights. He did an excellent job, and we were very pleased with the final result.
There was quite a lot of dust generated during the fitting process, which was to be expected.
We were left with quite a lot of cut offs of timber, some which were over 8ft long. I had to break these into manageable sizes and transport them to my local dumpit site myself.
The sliding doors have self-soft closer mechanisms fitted for when you push them shut, which work very well, and are necessary for the very large heavy doors, BUT, when you push them open, unless you remember to catch them, they slam into the other end of the wardrobe, as there are no such devices fitted to the other end. I think this is a bad omission, and for the price paid should have been included. We have raised this point with Sharps, but have had no response.
I think the wardrobe is excellent quality, and was fitted extremely well, but I do still think the price was far too high, the mistake on the sliding door handle should not have been made, and the waste should really have been disposed of by Sharps, not left for us to deal with. (it was taken down into the garage by the fitter- with my help)
Overall it's a mixed review, We are very pleased with the Wardrobe, but think the price was too high.
We had Sharps for our 2 bedrooms. One has the mirrored doors with a drawer unit, dressing table and headboard. The other has the white bedroom wardrobe with a dressing table and headboard to match. We had some minor problems with the mirrored furniture but they were quick to put it right. A pleasure to have dealt with this company. Well worth the money spent!!!
I was very happy with the service, particularly the salesman, who was helpful without being too pushy, and the fitter, who worked extremely hard, and obviously took a pride in his work.
My only slight criticisms are:
1) The customer service agents I spoke to over the phone were rather abrupt, could have been a little more "customer friendly".
2) I didn't really mind having to dispose of the rubbish afterwards, as it was left neatly bundled up, but I think, considering Sharps are not exactly a budget firm, they should include disposal of the rubbish in the price. It would be worth it for increased customer satisfaction.
We were given helpful advice in the showroom. The designer, a few days later, was also helpful in identifying possibilities in our comparitively small bedrooms to get maximum storage space. The following day the surveyor visited to complete the design. Delivery was agreed 10 days later and fitting was completed in the following three days. Although we were required to dispose of the packing it was left folded up together with some useful off cuts which I have used for some shelving. Altogether we are delighted with the result.
Please do not buy anything from Sharps. They have left me all their rubbish in the drive, and despite promising to pick it up, it is still there ten days later. Their customer service department is useless. They only want to know you until they have your money. Then they just don't care.
Had someone round we wanted one wardrobe in a recess, when it came to telling us the price he had to steel himself for quite a long time and then said do you want the bottom line or do you want me to go through the discounts, I see you have the vouchers, we opted for the bottom line which was £1190.00 and that I confirmed was AFTER a 50% discount, please! Really? Your website says average bedroom is about £2,000 we didn't need the whole room done yet Sharpe are saying pre discount price for a wardrobe is about £2400.00 are you kidding me, I read the websites negotiate a reasonable price there was absolutely no negotiate on price.
designer was not pushy and she listened and design the room how i asked.
I was happy with price as it was pretty close to other quotes.
Strange how they can start so high, however the price ended up being market rate.
I had other quotes and felt pushed so it was a no brainer for me as Sharps were great all round. Defienantly recommend.
After we had placed our order and had the surveyor round we received a van full of materials which had to be stored in our lounge as it was to big to fit in the box room we were having the furniture fitted in. After several phone calls we got a fitting date of a week after the delivery. Once installed we realised the furniture was installed differently to the drawing, there was also a number of problems with parts that didn't line up and a few bits which were damaged. They also left behind a number of 8ft long pieces of wood along with all the cardboard boxes for us to dispose of. We then had the installation manger arrive 10 days later to confirm the install was unsatisfactory and needed to be rectified. He also confirmed the rubbish and left over wood would be collected after the work was completed. 3 weeks and around 10 phone calls later we still have the rubbish in our carport. We are extremely disappointed with the customer service and quality of work from Sharps and would not recommend them to anyone.
We wanted to replace our fitted bedroom units and as we had used Sharps for two of our other rooms and received an excellent service we thought we were on safe ground using them again. What a mistake - the salesman designed a lovely bedroom, 'please make sure that the gap on the left is roomy enough to open the doors', 'of course there is plenty of room', 'are you sure that you can get alcoves in walnut', 'yes, I've checked and you can get them'. The surveyor came to check the designer's plan -same question regarding space - again confirmed that there was, didn't bother to check the alcoves - silly me! Next day - the surveyor phoned, 'we don't do walnut alcoves' - furious I called Sharps - 'you have sold us a design and you can't deliver it, I want to cancel my order' - 'don't worry we have made a special order for you and we can now supply the items'. Bedroom fitted - lots of mess left behind (just hidden under the free standing unit) - still no alcoves and the gap is too small. When the alcoves finally arrived, they were damaged, incomplete and too big for the space, unbelievable - but Sharps' view was 'it's OK we will give you a credit note so it's not a problem! Sharps communication to the customer is appalling, I have had to phone numerous times, left my mobile number with the staff but my records have not been updated. There is NO transparency in the pricing, so when you receive a credit for something you didn't get, you can't tell whether it's right or not.
Would I use Sharps again - NO
Would I recommend Sharps - NO
Does the product provide value for money - NOT ANY MORE
Customer Service - Appalling, I don't even think that they know the meaning of the words
I have just had bedroom furniture fitted in 2 bedrooms. It looks fantastic. The service was excellent. The fitter was very reliable and got the job done within the time limit .
The customer service we experience was okay (not great) until we actually paid. We had been told not to pay until we were absolutely satisfied, but the fitter wouldn't leave without payment. More than 2 months later we're still waiting for a window seat cushion. We have called, emailed and even tweeted and we still haven't got a fixed date for installation. Someone did come to measure, but they did it incorrectly and we're playing the waiting game again. They just don't really care! If we didn't keep calling them, they would never bother fixing the issue.
An extremely horrible company:
1. I was given a bunch coupons with huge discounts, so I decided to give it a try. "Listed prices" of materials were super inflated (come on... £2000+ for a pair of sliding door??) and there is a cap on total discount. So, I was still looking at £3000 for a medium size wardrobe.
2. the designer didn't come at the agreed time, apparently because he was sick. Sharps called me ones when I didn't have phone signals and didn't leave message or email. I ended up waiting at home the whole afternoon for nothing.
3. I decide to cancel one of the 2 wardrobes I ordered. Stupid customer service canceled the entire order for me. I requested callback to clarify my order status but never heard from anyone.
4. When i called the customer service (non-sale), no one never picked up and it always went into voicemail.
For the amount of money I was willing to pay, I deserve much better service. Till this moment I still don't know when they will give me my wardrobe, and I am already £1300 out for the deposit!!
Will you order from this company?? I won't, never ever again.
I had bedroom furniture installed from Sharps, really pleased with them, fitter was really good, explained everything he was doing and cleaned up after himself, which was great, would recommend them to anyone, good value for money.
Had to negotiate hard to get to an acceptable price around half if the salesmanship opening salvo. I dislike buying without a price label so this has previously put me off dealing with this kind of company. Purchased for one room to test before considering others.
Overall I am pleased with the service and installation. Nothing special and no disasters. Price paid was eventually fair and the workmanship is good. Workmans sticky finger marks left on glass and no after sales contact. Therefore have decided to explore other suppliers for additional requirements
We shopped around for our fitted bedroom furniture but in the end, we once again chose Sharps to design the bedroom furniture in our new house. From the initial visit by the surveyor to discuss and advise on design until the finished article took less than 6 weeks. Sharps pricing was very competitive. We just love the finished article. Just brill! We only have an average sized bedroom but Sharps maximiized the available space so that now we have room galore for our clothes, shoes etc all hidden behind a classy facade. All work was completed to a very high standard - with no mess left behind. I recommend this company and their product. Can't speak highly enough about the fitters!
This is an email I sent to sharps:
I have an array of issues with how my wardrobe project has been handled so far!
- My designer came late and I was left waiting without anyone informing me, he then called 1 hour later and stated he would be with me in 30 minutes, he was another 1 hour and 15 minutes late.
- After I had paid a deposit know one called me to arrange a survey date, I had to call.
- Finally when all my dates were given to me 9th, 18th 22nd. The surveyor came and mentioned all the drawings were wrong.
- All that said and done I was waiting for the 18th and 22nd to arrive. I just called to confirm times and dates to be told that they are not correct and there are no dates on my account due to ‘TECHNICAL FAULTS’. Surely if this is the case someone should of contacted ME! To make matters worse, I was put through to three people who told me that someone will call me back, learning how Sharps operate I called again and was told to call back as the other department (Planning department) is closed till 13:45!
Frankly, Sharps is completely mismanaged, I have paid £3,000 to be treated in a way I wouldn't even expect from IKEA.
I want someone to tell me what is going on and give me some dates that I can stick to.
I am so disappointed and I will 100% never order from Sharps again and stop anyone, so they avoid falling into this time wasting and expensive trap.
I do hope this issue is addressed as I can see this being ignored like every other step I have taken.
Please see an email send to me regarding the dates:
‘Dear Miss Burham
Further to our telephone conversation this morning, I would confirm that our surveyor, Alan Olseen, will be calling out to you on 9th April at 11 am, as arranged. You will need to ensure there is a letter of authority on site, to confirm that your mom can sign on your behalf.
In addition, I would confirm that, subject to survey, your furniture will be fitted during week commencing the 22nd April . Once the survey is complete, our planning department will call and confirm the exact dates that the fitters will be with you, in addition to confirmation of your delivery date of the 18th April.
I trust this information meets with your approval, but should you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact this department on 01902 483090.
Sharps Survey Department
- Further to this, I just tried to call Sharps I was again put through to two people to be left on the phone with it continuously ringing!
