I accepted a bid by a courier company and they failed to take on the job, telling me to ask Shiply for a refund which I immediately did, but now Shiply refuse to give t me a refund and will only credit my shiply account, which I am very unlikely to use within the limit of 6moths, in which case I lose the credit. Shiply are being very unhelpful and simply state their terms and conditions, which would not be acceptable in consumer law. The cancellation was out of my control and NOT my fault.
I have seen others caught by same unacceptable "clauses" and I suggest don't accept them, but fight for our rights.
My advice, DON'T use Shiply. They charge the auction buyer £10 Plus a "HIDDEN" £8, before the courier company ever sees a penny!
Beställde en ganska dyr transport från Spanien, runt 7000 euro, där auktions avgiften samt depositionen kostade ca 3500 skr. Transportören hade enbart positiva feeds och återkom frekvent ända tills strax innan hämtningsdagen då han bara försvann i kommunikation.
Det är stört omöjligt att granska en transportör innan accept, det som står att läsa är av transportören själv angivet. Vill man luras och skapa en falsk identitet så finns det ingen som helst kontroll över detta.
Shiply skapade mig en massa problem, visst man kan reclaima avgift och deposition men endast i form av shiply-credit som gäller i sex månader. Eftersom jag ALDRIG mer kommer använda denna tjänst blir dom pengarna bortkastade.
Shiply tar så klart mer betalt av transportören/kunden än själva auktions avgiften, kan tänka mig att dom delar depositionen med transportören, i och med detta är det ju ganska uppenbart att NÅN har intresse av att erbjuda billiga transporter som aldrig genomförs efter det att budet accepterats och deposition erlagts
som man, enligt ovan, ALDRIG får tillbaks !

I booked a delivery through shiply.
After over a week the delivery guy showed up but he didn't like the weight of the item (although clearly stated in the description) so he just said "that's it, I'm out of here" and was gone without another word.
Shiply refused to refund both the 10% down payment as well as their fee, instead they gave me a credit to be used within 6 months. This is stated in their user agreement which seems to be above common sense (or law) so there is nothing they can do about it.
A system where the delivery men can do as they please and you pay for it is clearly flawed and does not deserve any business - AVOID!

it is so easy just to post requirements and wait. The small company that I chose was efficient, turned up on time and treated my stuff well. They drove through all the bad March snow to deliver and were really nice to communicate with. I couldn't buy on ebay without this service. Thank you
The website was easy and within minutes I started to get responses with offers. The one I chose showed up on time and did even more than originally asked. My only hesitation is that these are individuals rather than reps of established companies and you are trusting that they will show up. My need was for a specific day and couldn't be rescheduled. Thank goodness he showed up!
Best thing I did, following a recommendation on a chat forum, I was having all sorts of problems transporting a boat from Scotland to Windermere, and all the solutions offered initially were expensive ones, then I put in my requirements on Shiply, and within minutes I had a brilliant quote from Bitzanbobs, which not only offered a much less expensive transportation, but solutions to all the other probelms into the bargain! Saved me an absolute fortune!
Having contacted a couple of piano moving companies I found Shiply via Google and decided to try them as there was no upfront fees. I quickly received a number of very competitive quotes, reading the reviews was extremely useful as it allowed me to identify a specialist company with very good feedback. The money saved more than covered Shiply's fee.
be very wary when choosing a courier, i paid my deposit + fees to shipley and the courier CBA'd , i had to arrange another courier and pay twice, i opened a dispute with paypal but because shiply is 'virtual' goods you have no protection and dont get your money back!!

I didn't know this company existed,till about a year ago. When you hire a courier online you trust that they will be a good service. This is not always the case,but with Shiply the feedback system encourages everyone, people who hire as well,to be fair and reasonable, I will always now use this company to courier any larger items to my address.
Used Shiply to arrange collection and delivery of furniture from Bradford to London. The 2 quotes I received were far cheaper than alternative removals firms.
The driver I chose was excellent, great communication, very flexible and accommodating.
Easy to use, I received emailed quotes within hours of confirming bulky item for collection, very competitive compared to hiring van yourself, with no obligation to choose a quote provided by various companies and was easy to book a collection with good communication from the driver.
A pleasant experience that couldn't have been easier!
Have used this platform twice now and haven't been disappointed. Of course the fantastic couriers I managed to find on both occasions played a BIG part in that, but Shiply provides an easy to use service to bring customers and couriers together. Going direct to one of the large commercial courier companies on each occasion would have cost me at least 50% more than I ended up paying.
In essence, Shiply is a little like "Ebay comes to shipping"...and because of that the customers and the couriers have to do their duty to make this a positive experience. But like Ebay, feedback can be left for both parties (which boosts confidence and guards against complacency).
In summary then? Shiply is a great concept that has worked for me.
N.B. In response to the negative reviews (i.e. where people WERE let down by the courier they chose), I think Shiply should have an arbitration system similar to Ebay. This would help to sort out any disputes. In fairness though, this is a commercial operation so it would be reasonable for Shiply to charge a fee for such an arbitration service if a complaint was investigated and upheld.
We used Shipley when moving our household goods from UK to Europe. there were many quotes to choose from, and very useful feedback, so we found a really good, cheap, efficient removal company. I would certainly use Shipley again.
I have used Shiply twice now and have experienced two different transporters. One was to transport a piano and the other to collect and deliver a piece of furniture. Both providers have given excellent service and therefore I have found Shiply to be a good source for finding people to help me. An easy to use service.
Just like all previous 1 star reviews, I had booked a house move that could not be completed by removal company as they were stuck in Aberdeen, so had to find a local firm on the day of the move! Having paid a deposit via paypal I, stupidly, thought I would be able to get a refund but, same as those other reviewers, they put MY money into the shiply account with a limit of 6 months to spend it. I sure don't expect to move within the next 6 months, so that's my money gone! Thanks Shiply!

Je suis très satisfaite tout en sachant que quelques transporteurs, malgré leur sympathies doivent êtres relancés plusieurs fois pour un transport, et que les prix sont souvent n'importe quoi! exemple : pour transporter un landau de Moulin à Paris : 700€ pour finir par en trouver un à 65€. Certains devraient rester dans le raisonnable et non pas dans le ridicule.
I have used the site several times now, with each job being highly successful, and at a competitive price. I'm not always at home so the couriers have shown flexibility to get the jobs done around me, which is appreciated. Highly recommend.
Shipy is the way to buy bulky stuff on ebay! I have bought a table in wales, an office chair from St Albans and a baby buggy from some place I cant even place on the map.
The system does make it easy to list items, get an auction going and select a courier.
It's not cheap but it does deliver a lot of value to users.
we accepted a quote for a house removal, and paid a deposit of over £200, our chosen courier did not contact us, when we contacted him, he said he was sorry but he had a lot on. We ended up hiring a van and doing the job ourselves, but shiply will not refund our money. We have seen other reports of this happening, and also a report from the advertising standards authority criticising this policy.
Our house removal is still listed on Shiply's website as succesful, but it was definitely not succesful for us
I used this for the very first time, not sure if I was doing the right thing. But I was supper impressed by the quick response I got and how easy it is to use the site not a great computer person so great for me. I will always use thiscompany first from now on
I use ebay a lot and picking items up from distant locations can be a pain. With Shiply it's easy, just put up the item your buying or bidding on and the quotes roll in. All the couriers I've dealt with do all the calling and arranging -Easy!!!!!!!!!
